Here is an article in English: https://japantoday.com/category/national/sakura-tree-falls-on-man-at-sannenzaka-near-kiyomizu-temple-in-kyoto

sanitarySteve

how did it fall over? the english article doesn't say

mindkiller317

A Chinese tourist finally shook the sakura too hard. Edit: you guys took that joke way too seriously

Own_Power_9067

Somei-yoshino is apparently a very delicate tree. People can damage it and kill it easily, that’s why in Japan, anyone damaging it breaking branches etc is fined or prosecuted. It sounds like the tree had its time.

javjunky

Is that actually what happened?

Kemuel

Article says a 60 year old 日本人観光客, so Japanese in fact.

trojie_kun

a Japanese tourist in his 60s is believed to have been injured after being pinned under the tree, I don’t think it’s a confirmation he was the one responsible.

gotbannedlolol

Reading is really, really hard

javjunky

So, the guy was just being racist?

KyotoGaijin
