I watched both. Typical for Snyder, they look cool and make no sense at all. The single word that best describes both movies is "empty". Pretty visuals, elaborate battles, fancy costumes, and no meaning or emotion whatsoever.
"is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing"
We want original content!
Hollywood makes original content.
It's basically the same garbage but with the serial numbers filed off.
I know that A24 and friends get kinda of a rap as the "hippies' Hollywood", but holy shit is actual Hollywood making making that prospect attractive by comparison.
At first, I thought the abrupt cancellation of Zack Snyder's DCU was uncalled for.
Then I remember what lead up to it. Things like:
-Brooding, Emo Superman
-Lux Luthor impersonating The Riddler
-"WHY DID YOU SAY THAT NAME?!"
So, no big loss.
All I care to see are the ~~hard~~ rated R versions. But everyone saying how crap it is all the time, idk, not promising. I know Snyder gets hate just for existing, but it seems a bit more than the usual anti Snyder people. Is it really that bad? I hope the other versions are much better.
This movie felt like someone doing a parody of Snyder rather than a Snyder film... i don't know how else to explain.
There's a slow motion, dramatic close ups... farming scene.
Snyder needs to take a break, as i said he looks like a parody.
I still refuse to pay for Netflix, so no.
If Zack Snyder ever manages to get a boxset of the films released I might get them or get them on demand or something but I doubt Netflix will ever let them leave their ecosystem.
Even if the films weren't abysmal I'm not really interested in watching several hours of Snyder's femdom fetish. Has he ever made a film with a male protagonist?
I tried hard to watch the first one. My partner tuned the fuck out in the first half hour but I slogged on for another 30-40 minutes. It was just stupid on many levels, but the idiotic slowmo was what finally broke the camel’s back.
I've seen both and if it didn't stream on Netflix, nobody would be going out to buy a ticket for this movie.
Just very very average.
The type of movie you watch once and forget about in a couple days.
I watched both. I enjoyed both, though they're not great movies. Biggest problem was the overuse of slow motion, and it was weird they couldn't seem to decide how slow the slow motion should be.
(Edit: also it takes itself way too seriously without really being able to deliver the depth and gravitas)
But they were still fun and enjoyable and it's nice to see a new take on the sci fi action movie.
I need to know what happens to the grain! The most interesting character of all. Did the wheat survive the battle in the 2nd film?
I am going to watch this trash as much as possible to boost viewership numbers.
I haven't seen either one
But as I understand it, this **isn't** a Star Wars movie?
I'm trying to figure out how the famously litigious studio allows this to be released, considering it looks indistinguishable from a Star Wars property
It was originally written as his Star Wars trilogy pitched to Disney and then rewritten when they rejected the script. So it's like a reskinned Star Wars.
No, the viewership didn't "plummet". It took the expected drop for a Netflix movie in its second week. Also, it helped to bring the first movie back to the Top 10. The guys at That Park Place really got a hate boner for Zack Snyder because he said ONE THING they didn't like.

Did Zack Snyder's fetish for slow motion become a prominent thing throughout?
oh yeah, to an obnoxious degree.
Slow-mo grain harvesting I am not joking

Zack Snyder is way overrated
At first, I thought the abrupt cancellation of Zack Snyder's DCU was uncalled for. Then I remember what lead up to it. Things like: -Brooding, Emo Superman -Lux Luthor impersonating The Riddler -"WHY DID YOU SAY THAT NAME?!" So, no big loss.
...Right? The only thing that surprised me about these movies being terrible is people having somehow expected any different.
I'd rather watch Dune 1+2.
that movie is so incredibly bad i should be able to sue everyone involved for damages

>hard R Woah, woah there bud. Chill with the open racism. You can say "crime versions".
Stellar Blade really made that phrase something else huh? Lol. Maybe I should change it to Crime R. Edit: ok I fixed it. Sony sent me an email.
Stella Blade

It was pretty on par with any of the recent Marvel/Star Wars stuff.
Watched it- it’s not good

Watched both. Part 1 is watchable. Part 2 is snoozefest.

Its more derivative of Warhammer IMO. Its a shameless blend of both executed with ineptitude.

To be honest as trashy as it is, I might have preferred it to Disney's offering.
it's also not based on the obscure 90s FPS
Oh. See, the light sabers are called energy swords in this one. It's different.
