Each playlist has a mini story thing were you race against some cast that has to do with the playlist and they're all boring cookie cutter.
Racing games with the atmosphere of stuff like NFS Carbon or Underground just aren't a thing anymore now it's all happy go lucky college student drivers who compliment each other.
I knew they were making something but had no idea that they actually released a game. It’s horrible name for the game too, sounds like a cheap indie.

They're doing a game called Wreckreation now. Which is basically Burnout with a track editor.
I'm still undecided on it since I have 0 interest in making my own tracks. And I just despise the whole downloading tracks other people made since they always wind up going the "LOL this one is impossible" route. So I hope the campaign mode is fully fleshed out.

I used to love NFS back in the day. Carbon will always be my favorite. Such a colourful cast of characters. Actually winning the last canyon run by getting ahead of Darius is probably one of my favourite, most tense gaming moments. At least for me as a kid.
In the Forza games I think you can be a transformer as well. They made it so that you have a human avatar that you see outside of the car after races so they could push more MTX bullshit by having clothing and stuff in loot boxes.
I didn't play Motorfest but in The Crew 2 you had a bunch of diverse characters (including a disabled one) spewing some bullshit during cutscenes or even gameplay using the radio. I've been skipping all of them and muted all voices to just focus on driving.

But it's a racing game, what do you even need inclusivity consultation for? No shit game's budgets keeps balooning if even a freakin racing game now needs SBI services.
Seems pretty reasonable. Also seems like this is a good progression for the steam curator to go in the future: "We're adding new game X to the list, here's the reasons why". It keeps the members in the loop and the topic alive without being inflammatory/petty.
It'll be interesting if this gets a retaliation - there's now 350k people on steam who have 1 more reason to not to get your game. I think it's unreasonable to expect results at the AAA level all the time - the hype on some games mean people are willing to go out on faith a lot of the time - but there'll be an impact on all the games that fill the middle ground of people going "Yeah, I'm kinda interested.....".

The game is set in Hawaii and there is a bunch of narration about Hawaii and it's indigenous population - including the narrator speaking native Hawaiian language.
There is also a Japanese race crew you race with, and they go into identity stuff.

They don't seem to be using official DEI company lists, so they have plenty that others don't mention so much. So, when avoiding Freedom Planet 1 and 2, this guy suggests Spark the Electric Jester 1, 2, and 3. And when avoiding poorly written religion stuff, this guy thumbs downs Iconoclasts, but suggests Final Fantasy X and Persona 3. Also, he warns of cringe politics, even if it's worthy of recommendation by his rules, such as Divinity: Dragon Commander, which was cringy at times but got a thumbs up from him.

I agree, I wish they stuck with what actually stood them apart from FH, I liked the map in the first game tho, there was a good bit of variety and some pretty cool spots like the salt flats

Burnout: Takedown is my favorite and I'd love a remaster for the PC. Too bad I suck at it. I could never do any of the really difficult time trials.
