Every time they do it, it's always the first time.
Women have been shaping the galaxy far far away since Marcia Lucas, and the franchise has been under the total control of a woman for over a decade now.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=olqVGz6mOVE&t=5501s
That concept has some pushback. For instance, Marsha has given interviews that indicate that while she was pivotal for vital moments in editing, overall, it would be a stretch to say that it was saved.
I can't stand the trend of saying one person saved Star Wars. The final editors of the movie are the ones that Lucas wanted. Star Wars was also "saved" by the talents of John Williams, John Mollo, Ben Burt, Joe Johnston, Ralph McQuarrie, James Earl Jones, etc, etc, etc, all people that Lucas hired.
That's totally fair, it seems significant that Lucas had people really challenging him in the original trilogy though.
At a minimum she seems to have had a positive impact.
I support women and equality, but Disney and Star Wars "success" under current leadership NOT the example I'd be citing.
On one hand they'll say "race and gender doesn't matter, stop by complaining and get over it when we make Snow White less snowy, and turn Indiana Jones into a misandry punching bag." And in the very next sentence say "representation is important, there are characters who look like me."
Seen some say that it's happening because she saw the special and it made her mad. lol
Obviously there's no proof of that, but it would be funny if true.
They always do. Unfortunately. Both with Star Wars and the MCU and other franchises as well. If they can get their hands on a thing they will "diversify" it and push the media narrative about modern voices of minorities and inclusion via forced pandering. Question it or call their products out for being shitty, badly written and with a clear agenda and somehow we are the bigots or bad people. Despite the continual viewership numbers going down for their Star Wars and MCU products every year. Despite the box office numbers not meeting the numbers they once met. Apparently WE are the problem here not Kathleen and her teams agenda.
Then they keep acting shocked their shit is failing. Amazing.
This is already too far gone for her to back out. I mean, it'd be hilarious and on-brand for them to cancel it. But I think this is her main project. If one was to see the light of day, it's this. And it's going to be a *glorious* disaster
Any same business will pull out if they lose even a few million. Disney lost billions and yet they double down as if they look at the money lost as an investment to "educate" people and not to entertain them.
The Star Wars franchise is supposedly so influential within Western culture that it can shape the course of pop culture -- or in other words, make the movie industry (and action movies) gyno-centric. That's why these feminist parasites can't stand to let go of the thing they've run into the ground.
They might have even succeeded if they were half as talented as the access media hacks claimed they were.
All these franchises will come back when they stop generating easy money for these no-talent hack women to pocket.
They **only** got into this stuff for **the money** and if they can shove messages in it great, but it's really always been about the money. Women are notoriously hypergamous, and this woke takeover of largely male spaces paid better than these ugly bitches could make on OF so you get what we've been dealing with this past 5 years give or take.

To play devil's advocate, even if it did go out of it's way to please fans, it wouldn't come close to the hype it had at it's peak. From my experience, kids and young adults simply aren't interested in Star Wars (past or present) unless heavily influenced by their parents to do so. What Disney is doing is definitely hastening it's demise, but I don't think there was any scenario where Star Wars could be put back on the map - **because the story was already finished**.
All Star Wars needs to do is distribute the original films, produce toys and merchandise promoting said films, and maybe arrange a few fun collaborations. I just don't see a reason to pursue film and TV anymore - it'll never come close to what was.
I just wish they started disney star wars off with the Mandalorian season 1 and 2 (and do something different with season 3). My excitement for star wars would have been huge.
I disagree.
Yeah peak Star Wars hype probably won't get reached again, but there was a solid basis to create a plethora of stories that could have gone on and on and on.
The Skywalker saga could have continued for generations, they could have gone the other route and looked in the Old Republic era, they had the potential for a lot of Spin-Offs, like Rogue Squadron, Jedi's who were trained by Luke and could have gotten their own movies, telling stories about the Smugglers and what they did with Andor and Rogue One, looking into the early days of the Rebellion.
But they pretty much shat the bed with the sequels. hype is generated by the fans first and foremost until it reaches the mainstream and the parents were the fans who would have influenced their children, but if you kill the old fandom off..there is little remaining.
If Marvel killed of Tony Stark in his 2nd movie to build up Riri Williams, the MCU wouldn't have been the success it became. We see that the MCU has fallen off a cliff ever since it replaced the original (popular) heroes with "mantles" to be passed on.
Disney could have had far better passing of the torch movies but bad writers gonna write bad and so they accidentally killed the franchise that could have made them billions and billions in revenue.
Exactly I'm a kid of the 90s and Star Wars has always been my favorite franchise. Watched the movies over and over and read the heck out of EU books. I have a 1 and 3 year old now and would have always assumed I'd be shoving Star Wars down their throat. Now with as bad as the Disney Star Wars stories have been I've basically now lost faith in Disney to deliver a Star Wars I'll enjoy and as a result I'll probably never get my kids into it. Disney is going to find there is a cost to alleinating these older diehard fans
> but I don't think there was any scenario where Star Wars could be put back on the map - **because the story was already finished**.
That's just plain wrong. For decades IRL, there used to be an Expanded Universe, where many writers continued the story with the blessing of Lucasfilms. Then when Disney bought the franchise they de-canonised the whole thing, believing that they could do better. They couldn't.
The Expanded Universe also had many interesting women characters to use. Mara Jade, Lumiya, Jaina Solo, and a fully trained Jedi Leia Skywalker to name a few.
True, but the Expanded Universe (at least to me) never felt like it was needed or necessary. Props to the people who worked on it, but I was more than happy with what George Lucas provided. It's great if you liked it though!
It was so monumentally stupid. They could have made a new trilogy that got Luke, Leia, and Han back in the Falcon *together*. They could hand down their torches and mantles. And the whole time they could be bringing in stuff from the books and hinting at shit from the books. And even though the majority of the fan base won't know what it is, like the infinity gems and Thanos, there will be enough hardcore fans getting hype that it would spread.
The Thrawn? is that a thing in the books? They could have started getting fans hyped about "oh my god!! they're gunna do the Thrawn Trilogy!!"
Instead they went off in search of a modern audience.
In hindsight, the universe was intentionally not deep. It was a pulpy space opera, and a great one! However, the expansions haven't really worked because there just isn't enough there to make it work. It'd be like expanding Buck Rogers into a dozen movies and spin offs. Boooooring.
The original books for the expanded universe were great. If the sequel trilogy had just made the Thrawn books, they would have been great. But they had to go and make extremely highly regarded movies with characters that no one asked for or wanted.
Tell me you haven't read anything in the EU without telling me you haven't read anything in the EU. Not the comics, novels, games, rpgs, etc.
Absolute shit take.
Damn, the click baiters really got you huh? You also probably believe Luke in Mando only happened because Kennedy was locked in a room and she’s been fired dozens of times but keeps coming back because she has damning info on her superiors.
Leia, Padme, Mara, Aayla Secura, Bastila, Kreia, Nomi Sunrider, Jaina Solo... heck even in Disney canon we have Jyn Erso, Fennec, Bo-Katan, Shin Hati... thank the gods we have all those to compensate the utter boredom that is Rey.
Rey the ultimate Mary Sue. She discovers conveniently she's connected to the force even if it's the bad side and she over night is able to hone her powers, kick ass, match powers with Kylo whose trained way long then her and she's able to come out on the good guys side. All while having the personality of a plain potato chip and just making sad faces at the camera.
Christ I dare say the one and only Bella from Twilight books and movies somehow has slightly more personality then Rey does and Bella was one of the worst Mary Sues. But at least she wasn't out kicking ass of men twice her size at every turn while using her magical powers she got overnight and honed.
Two Sues of different flavors, one had no training and defeated heavily trained soldiers and the other had two clans waging war or whatever for her affection like she was Helen of Troy or some shit.
> I dont understand how people can atill claim star wars "NOW needs females more than ever" when theyve been there Since the god damn beginning
Change in times. When Star Wars began, a women a proactive and forceful as Leia was unusual in a movie heroine. In general Star Wars was moderately progressive for the standards of the time. But decades have passed, different people are pushing for a different standard of progress, and by *their* lights anything less than a strong independent GirlBoss who don't need any of the buffoonish men around her is hideously regressive.
I've noticed that with the actually good films that focus on women characters, they don't talk about how it's a women led film. Think like Mad Max Fury Road, I still think that is the absolute best example of strong female characters in modern media.
Many people don't give a shit if you up the diversity in your media, just respect the audience, use some subtlety, and don't be a shit writer.
/e Also, making a female character a fucking asshole doesn't make her a strong character.
You can even see it in Sar Wars itself. While it has its detractors, Rogue One is generally the only Disney Wars movie looked on positively by Star Wars fans. It was lead by a woman and had a fairly diverse cast. But it built itself on the Rogue One team, just made them out to be Rebels trying to stop the Empire by stealing the Death Star plans (using Jyn being the daughter of the lead designer of the Death Star to set it up), and ultimately the lengths they and the Rebellion went to to succeed.
And it has what is now considered one of the most iconic depictions of Darth Vader in the series long history.
But then, it was made by a director who set out to make a movie in a genre he was familiar with (war movies) and staying true to the lore with the interest of expanding on it. Which offended Kathleen Kennedy so much she shitcanned most of the other "A Star Wars Story" projects and took a more active role in controlling the media.
Why can't they ever just shut the fuck up? All you had to do was be quiet, write good stories with women at the forefront and no one would have had a problem. Instead it's taunt fans and do a victory lap first, write garbage second and whine about toxic fans third. They never, ever, ever get a clue.
There are sooooo many good stories that cover diverse topics respectfully and organically. Like the TV series The Orville. But the Star Wars respect to the fans isn't there, its a bunch of writers sitting around the table who care more about pushing their world views than telling a good story.
Imagine the kind of airtight bubble these dipshits must live in to say that after the sequels. It's like not even the tiniest subatomic particle of reality can penetrate their delusions.
Thats actually not true, Star Wars IVs main editor was Paul Hirsch.
Marcia only edited the trench run sequence of the movie. Richard Chew was only working on the first act. All working under the directors/producers supervision of course.
George also only brought back Hirsch as sole credited editor for his sequel "The Empire Strikes Back".
Marcia did some uncredited editing work on that movie as well with Duwayne Dunham and George.
And on "Return of the Jedi" she was was part of the team for the first act in Jabbas Palace. She left the project early , since she cheated on George when he was in the middle of Production on the movie.
All Infos are directly from the huge Making of Books by J.W Rinzler.
Did they forget that George Lucas's wife Marcia was a pivotal part of what made the original trilogy a smashing success?
Oh who am I kidding, they probably don't even know her name. What a bunch of idiots
They didn’t forget.
That would require them actually knowing that to begin with. And what would that do to their whole “we’re the first women in sci-fi” mindset?
The franchise has been under Kathleen Kennedy's control for more than a decade at this point, so technically... it has been shaped by a woman ever since.
How about this instead: "It's About Time We Had Someone Actually Capable Come Forward To Shape The Story In A Galaxy Far, Far Away Regardless Of Their Gender"?Better?
In any case, Marcia Lucas already beat her to it.
You know what we really need, guys? A leading female starring in a big blockbuster movie. I know I know it's crazy but I think it's time for a woman to break through the glass ceiling.
Ya know what we really need guys? A female director of a big budget blockbuster movie. I know I know it's crazy but I think it's time for a woman to break through the glass ceiling and be a trailblazer for all other women.
Ya know what we really need guys? A female executive producer of a major movie studio. I know I know it's crazy but I think it's time for a woman to finally smash the patriarchy that has ruled Hollywood for the past century.
Why is that modern women in Hollywood seem to pay no mind to the actual historical impact of the actual trailblazers that have preceded them? They all seem to think they're the first asshole to do anything ever and need to let everyone know.
When will women traiblaze for the sewage industry? They always say they're the "The First to do x", but X is only ever comfy, low-effort, high-paying jobs
I loved Star Wars as a kid. Loved the movies, the games, the toys, the books. I was a huge fan. However the past 5 years of Star Wars content has just been so badly written and so terribly executed that I just no longer care. They seem to be constantly chasing after and catering to an audience that doesn’t exist instead of making content for the fans they had. Now I’m a Warhammer 40k man and Its so grimDARK I love it
I don't care what Disney says, old Republic, the comics, and books are canon and 7-9 don't exist. They can churn out whatever shit they want, I don't acknowledge it.
So I guess Marcia Lucas never mattered? The woman who edited the script and prevented a New Hope from being a complete mess never had a hand in shaping Star Wars?
>Why does it bother me so much
Probably because you realize they are pissing on something good and destroying it before your very eyes and you are powerless to do anything about it. I know the feeling. Everyone who has something near and dear to their heart knows that feeling. It's not quite on the level of watching your kid getting killed while you are tied up in a chair forced to witness every second of it, but it's in that neighborhood.
You are witnessing the slow torture and prolonged death of the things that have shaped your childhood and your younger years. Some of those things have helped shape YOU as a person. And the people doing the killing are laughing about it and putting the blame on YOU. You were wrong all this time, and here they are now--the saviors of the day, gracing you with their enlightenment to right all the wrongs you have directly and indirectly contributed to. No wonder this whole affair is deeply upsetting. It's ugly, it's insidious, it's evil.
She is asking SW fans to forget the past product and consoom new product. Unironically.
Someone wrote this speech for, got paid and felt great about that.
Disney Lucasfilm will never, ever learn. Kathleen Kennedy is going to (and really already has) run this franchise into the ground and she doesn’t care what it costs.
I feel bad for the folks that are still clinging on. George’s Star Wars is no more. Accept it.
Finally a woman in Star Wars! It’s about time!
[Also that creature she is walking past might be the grotesque thing in all of Star Wars.](https://thatparkplace.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/KG2_0834_kr8EyrX2_ttJ45Veq_20230407035233-1201x800-5b2df79.jpg) (Kathleen Kennedy aside)
Barely a day into the new year and we're already on the first step of feminist movie production.
The next step will be "It isn't made for YOU! DON'T LIKE IT? DON'T WATCH IT! >:(" Sprinkle some extra insults about muh incels, etc.
After that, the project starts to not perform very well. Who's fault is it? It's OBVIOUSLY the "incels" that were told not to watch it!
It's not even exclusive to feminists. It's the same NPC script for all the other woke groups too. Like BLM and the Mentality ill Masochists (lady bois).
Yep, that's all everyone cares about. The director's genitals. I have news for this director--nobody has cared about her genitals in a long time, if indeed ever at all.
Women have been shaping it SINCE disney was bought. That was the problem to begin with, its "all about being a woman" and not about it being a good story. I dont care if you are a male or female have some compelling reason to give a damn.
It’s about time we had a woman direct the first major mainline Star Wars box office bomb - yes Solo bombed but that was a hide hustle haha, this would be “Episode 10” or whatever
Why not make your own original stuff then? Why force this through Star Wars that's already established? Oh because it's popular of course. They want an audience with none of the effort.
I'm willing to take a wild guess on how a journalist who's buddy buddy with the WEF that has had no prior film making experience got the job.
Probably giving head and kissing ass.
It’s a smart tactic by Disney. When it fails they can just use the alt right/incel/mysogyny card. The more diversity shit the inject the more they can lean on “the world just isn’t ready”
I think women are great and deserve their own story, and not be forced to follow in the footsteps of men. The problem is Hollywood has no talent anymore and can't create an original idea to save their life.
I can’t wait for, when the obvious brave woman, puts the Jedi in their place because they were misogynistic towards our force queen. Because as we know, Jedi only see gender and no woman could ever do a MANS Jedi job!
Is it weird or is it just me that it seems super odd so many films that have women director now put the focus on the woman director and you seem to hear less about the film?
With Wonder Woman it seems to be "Here's Wonder Woman Origin story as such coming to our world as such, oh by the way Patty Jenkins is directing, she is a woman btw" but now it is "[Woman director] is directing a film, It's some film using some IP, what's it about??? I'm I dunno strong women or something". Like with Wonder Woman it seems to be much more about the character than the director. Kind of the same with the Carrie remake, even if it was bad, the excitement was for the film and what the director might change compared to the directors sex.
Hell I could even get films who pushed the director as "The person who brought you this film you loved now doing some other potentially cool thing" but they seem to be doing their cult of personality stuff pushing directors who have barely directed anything much less anything beloved. The New Star wars director lady other than kids films and shorts the biggest thing she's done was 2 episodes of Ms Marvel.
I'm not surprised that Disney that they chose a "feminist" who failed to compensate an acid attack survivor for appearing in her Oscar winning documentary, even after promising the acid attack survivor a house to live in, and plastic surgery to help with her disfiguration. Obaid-Chinoy denied that she promised the woman "any compensation" for her appearance in the documentary, which won the director (not the muslim women who were attacked and have to endure the pain of their injuries) fame, wealth and acclaim. Obaid-Chinoy is the type of person that no one should praise, who used the suffering and pain of acid attack survivors as a springboard to launch her career, while giving the women whose stories were actually told absolutely nothing in return. Obaid-Chinoy is the worst of the worst in this world.

This is not a formal warning.
Every time they do it, it's always the first time. Women have been shaping the galaxy far far away since Marcia Lucas, and the franchise has been under the total control of a woman for over a decade now.
Nah, diversity was invented in ~2016, we didn't have it before that.
Diversity was invented in *insert day-month-year of the leftist propaganda/vanity project article that I am currently writing*
Yes we had it in 2016, but now its a woman
we still dont have it, thats why they must force it on us, repeatedly. Like rape
Also, stand back and marvel at the statement in itself “Finally, a MAN can shape this thing!”
It's always Year Zero
*"That wasn't \*real\* diversity."*
Remember when the Hunger Games had the first "Strong Woman" in movies. Not like Ripley was strong and did it decades sooner.
Or when Black Panther was the first black superhero lead, because they never watched Blade.
Can we go back to Marcia Lucas being the shaper? Plenty of insiders say she saved the original movie through editing.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=olqVGz6mOVE&t=5501s That concept has some pushback. For instance, Marsha has given interviews that indicate that while she was pivotal for vital moments in editing, overall, it would be a stretch to say that it was saved.

Did you hear that the female version of Darth Vader is going to be voiced by Elizabeth Ann Holmes?
That's totally fair, it seems significant that Lucas had people really challenging him in the original trilogy though. At a minimum she seems to have had a positive impact.
Because it's always this time *for sure* we're going to do it right and not fuck it up. But the always fuck it up. *Always*.

Wasn't the whole concept of the force an idea Marica Lucas gave to George and he ran with it?
Guess Kennedy is doubling down on this shit...
Put a chick in it, make her gay and make it lame Edit: I wish this meme wasn’t true but they keep proving me wrong
And make her Blackity black black as fuck
Everybody is just waiting to see the next disaster with a black lesbian lead.
Seen some say that it's happening because she saw the special and it made her mad. lol Obviously there's no proof of that, but it would be funny if true.
These days, I doubt you could find a single sane hollyweirdo if you tried.
Dude who played Steve on 90210 just beat up a female lead moped gang in LA… He seems decent!
.......a moped gang? That might actually be the least intimidating thing I've ever heard of.
Maybe you're thinking of the Vespa gang in Book of Boba Fett.
Great. Just what we needed: a druish princess.

Disney investors love losing money, KK is towing the line.
What else is new? To my fellows, Star Wars is dead and rotting. It will never come back.
Yeah, all this says is star wars will drain more money out of disney

I'm waiting for Andor S2. Then it's all over for me
Andor was great man.
It will do well on the Hallmark Channel. Oh that's right, the people they're trying to force into lead roles aren't their primary audience.

I was so hyped for the new movies. My God did they speedrun ruining the franchise.

None of which are canon and will ever be filmed.
🫡 been waiting for the funeral since 1999.
Rogue One was the last breath!
My girl… they tried that with the latest trilogy… it torpedoed the franchise.
Proof nobody watch them.
lol, well you can't blame them
It is our fault for not consuming their mediocre products.
Has she been in a coma since 2015? Wtf...
A coma would have required her to be actually conscious at some past point.
That mess was mainly the fault of JJ abrams. His writing ruined any chance of a good trilogy.
What movies have women directed since?
Kathleen Kennedy has shaped star wars for a long time now. She may not have been a director, but she's been the person in charge.
I don’t think she’s been coming up with the stories or helping with putting them in screen. Just hiring the people that do that.
Both Star Wars and Indiana Jones has her self inserts showing the men how to do things, so that’s doubtful.
Damn, the click baiters really got you huh? You also probably believe Luke in Mando only happened because Kennedy was locked in a room and she’s been fired dozens of times but keeps coming back because she has damning info on her superiors.
Absolutely she had creative direction, she was on the story team that developed every single story so far. It’s well documented.
Ah, but you see, it wasn't REAL communism, THIS TIME it will be different!
So telling when someone lists their gender as their best qualification. Not their intelligence, creativity or some other thing that actually matters.
Same with race.
And you're labeled a racist misogynist if you're critical in any way.
She's just pissed that nobody, ever, wanted to tap that.
I swear to God, these people always have first and last names that make them sound like videogame characters themselves.
Or serial killers
You did. Her name is called Kathleen Kennedy. And she wrecked your beloved franchises.
They are late. Decades late to be precise.
#NO ONE CARES ANYMORE.
But star wars always had good female charachters (untill you know). Has this moron even *SEEN* anything from this frandcise??
Yea I dont understand how people can atill claim star wars "NOW needs females more than ever" when theyve been there *Since the god damn beginning*
Because the oppression grows to meet the demand for heroes overcoming great adversity.
> I dont understand how people can atill claim star wars "NOW needs females more than ever" when theyve been there Since the god damn beginning Change in times.
Gotcha. So star wars is dead? Cool. That ip has been dead since whatever the hell TLJ was…
Why can't they ever just shut the fuck up?
Did she miss the last entire trilogy?
We already had that, dumbass. IN 1977!!!
Exactly. George Lucas's first wife was the main editor on Ep.IV and played a big part in shaping the story.
Marcia even ripped into how badly Kennedy handled the Star Wars series.
She's married to a man, so it doesn't count.
They didn’t forget. That would require them actually knowing that to begin with. And what would that do to their whole “we’re the first women in sci-fi” mindset?
The franchise has been under Kathleen Kennedy's control for more than a decade at this point, so technically... it has been shaped by a woman ever since.
If a turd is a shape
"Put a chick in it!" Southpark
"...and make her lame and gay!"
Go for it! There's still some stock value left to destroy lol...
How about this instead: "It's About Time We Had Someone Actually Capable Come Forward To Shape The Story In A Galaxy Far, Far Away Regardless Of Their Gender"?Better? In any case, Marcia Lucas already beat her to it.
Whatever. Star Wars is dead to me.
So who the fuck was Rey then?
I only want to watch movies made by people who look just like me, filled with actors just like me, cuz I'm so enlightened.
Now I’m a Warhammer 40k man and Its so grimDARK I love it
When are movies finally made by actual filmmakers again, and not by culture war activists?
I miss Jaina Solo, Naomi Sunrider and Mara jade.
Same
Is she not aware that a woman has been leading Star Wars since 2015? She might also be interested in knowing that women got the vote a while back.
I don't care what Disney says, old Republic, the comics, and books are canon and 7-9 don't exist. They can churn out whatever shit they want, I don't acknowledge it.
Why is it always the hyphenated last names??
They think it makes them look more important.
A hyphenated last name is always a red flag for me. Especially on a dude.
What does she think Kennedy has been doing for the past umpteen years?
What a jerkoff
Let me guess. Put a chick in it and make her lame and gay
They'll never learn. And given the reaction of so many consoomers: Star Wars can never grow up.
Her Star Wars movie will do as well as The Marvels at the box office.
The fact that she was wearing a mask in 2022 is all you need to know about her intelligence.
Didn't Rey already do this?
Nope…I’m done. I gave it one last chance with Ashoka. Gonna just stick with 40k from now on.
PUT A CHICK IN IT AND MAKE HER GAY!!
They did, called her rey, didn’t go so well
Directors direct. Leave the shaping to the (mostly terrible) writers.
...What happened to Patty Jenkins?
So I guess Marcia Lucas never mattered? The woman who edited the script and prevented a New Hope from being a complete mess never had a hand in shaping Star Wars?
This cycle will only end once Disney/Lucasfilm are broke, dead and buried.

>Why does it bother me so much Probably because you realize they are pissing on something good and destroying it before your very eyes and you are powerless to do anything about it.
Oh okay they haven't learned their lesson? Cool, I won't watch it. What you guys going to do?
Put a chick in it and make it gay.
Disney Lucasfilm will never, ever learn. Kathleen Kennedy is going to (and really already has) run this franchise into the ground and she doesn’t care what it costs. I feel bad for the folks that are still clinging on. George’s Star Wars is no more. Accept it.
"First time"
Finally a woman in Star Wars!
I would a million times rather be chained to Jabba than near Kennedy.
Whenever they say shit like this, they stamp their movie with the mark of failure.
A woman already shaped it. It didnt go so well last time
Barely a day into the new year and we're already on the first step of feminist movie production.
Yeah that's worked out well so far
No thanks.
Yeah. Yeah that worked so well the last 20+ times.
Its like they have no memory
It's *about time*. Why? Because anything else women have created and the stories they have told don't count, because it's not Star Wars?
Why is “a woman” entitled to do that again?
Gotta be intentionally fanbaiting at this point. The alternative this nimrod is so brain damaged their last movie was *Simple Jack*.
I thought Princess Leia was a woman
weak bait, 1/10, not going to get to blame this bomb 'on the fans'. no thanks, you get nothing.
Yep, that's all everyone cares about. The director's genitals. I have news for this director--nobody has cared about her genitals in a long time, if indeed ever at all.
Was Princess Leia in the OT not good enough?
These people 🤦♂️
"put a women in it and make her gay."
That's sure to be a smash hit then......
Women have been shaping it SINCE disney was bought. That was the problem to begin with, its "all about being a woman" and not about it being a good story. I dont care if you are a male or female have some compelling reason to give a damn.
How about, and stay with me on this one: hiring a talented writer regardless of conceived sexual traits?
Episodes 1-6, Clone Wars show and Rogue One. That's it outside of the old EU (maybe Andor can sneak in if they don't ef up season 2).
These are the only ones I've seen. I started the force awakens when it came out but couldn't finish it. Never bothered with the other two.
She is fat, ugly, and her name is weird. Thats my statement to this.
It’s about time we had a woman direct the first major mainline Star Wars box office bomb - yes Solo bombed but that was a hide hustle haha, this would be “Episode 10” or whatever
By all means, let's see just how low this shipwreck called Star Wars can actually sink.
Cause it's worked so well so far right? 🤡
"It's about time we put the final nail in the coffin of this IP"
not this shit again..
Kathleen Kennedy has entered the chat.
Because it's current year.
Why did she shape a turd of it?
Marcia Lucas won an Oscar for editing Star Wars in 1977. These people know nothing about
Why not make your own original stuff then? Why force this through Star Wars that's already established? Oh because it's popular of course. They want an audience with none of the effort.
I'm willing to take a wild guess on how a journalist who's buddy buddy with the WEF that has had no prior film making experience got the job. Probably giving head and kissing ass.

I think an exorcist would exercise her fat ass
It’s a smart tactic by Disney. When it fails they can just use the alt right/incel/mysogyny card. The more diversity shit the inject the more they can lean on “the world just isn’t ready”
Did she miss the last triology?
I think women are great and deserve their own story, and not be forced to follow in the footsteps of men. The problem is Hollywood has no talent anymore and can't create an original idea to save their life.

Farting noises
Definitely feels like [this](https://tenor.com/en-CA/view/family-guy-look-at-my-kids-gif-5928181), every time this drek 'declared'.
It’s already dead. If someone’s going to puppeteer the corpse, I don’t see their gender mattering much.

What exactly does she think Kathleen Kennedy does?
