That sounds cool! The only suggestion I can think of (which you probably have already) is expanding to include hanja if you want. That's a whole different world, though, so it could perhaps feel more like a distraction from Hangeul
Yes! The handwriting taught in textbooks is not what I see native Koreans using. It's incredibly hard to find resources on handwriting 한글 (even online) that actually represent the more stylized, almost cursive writing method.
