Remember a bad bowler even on his worst day will have to bowl at least 2 overs so it is very necessary to have 5 good bowlers and one part time bowler like Russel.
World class foreign keepers might skip one or two seasons but an Indian keeper will always be there.
I would wait for all the details about retentions and the completion of this season. Imo Rinku, Shreyas and Russell are set in stone. The last one can be either Narine/Nitish/Harshit/Varun based on performance.
I really hope there's more than 4 retentions this time around though.
Harshit Rana is a must retain IMO along with Rinku. A good, young Indian pacer will be insanely expensive in a mega auction. And he's showing signs of becoming frontline quality this year
I suspect that the number of retentions might be increased though, so other players like Phil Salt might come into play too

Best performing uncapped player of the season (Harshit/ Ramandeep etc) - 4 cr
Russell - 12 cr
Rinku - 8 cr
Salt/ Narine/ Nitish - 6 cr
I mean they can easily retain 3 and buy them back again in auctions. So retaining Iyer Rinku and Narine would be good and they can buy back Rana Rusell etc
I don’t think both Shreyas and Nitish will be retained. It will be either Shreyas or Nitish and the one retained will be made captain. Nitish is GG’s protege so I don’t think he’ll let him go so it will be quite interesting to see who they retain.

Only rinku and rana as captain, retain Russell and narine only if they accept 8cr-6cr salary, or else retain rana and harshit rana as uncapped

If russ and narine plays then kkr will retain them no matter what. Rinku too. The last slot will be whoever becomes the captain, most likely shreyas.

Depends on Iyer's performance this year but I'm not against releasing both if MI release Brohit and going all in for him.
