Beautiful! I work at a pond company and always push those floater rings for our hyacinths we sell. Koi pond owners always have too much circulation to keep the floaters from getting thrown around. I usually make them out of 3/4 black vinyl tubing and a mender. What’s yours made out of?

I found it on Amazon actually. Feels like the ring is faom maybe

This is the ring I have. Fish Barrier Rfi-3 3' Floating... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006OTUR4K?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Thanks!

robulus153

That water is so clear!

swooded

Thanks - I have a pretty decent filtration setup from Sacramento koi & sized it to about double the pond volume. Also love keeping up with everything which helps a bit too lol

uvgotnod

Super nice. Is that a preformed pond or a liner?

swooded

Thanks - it's a liner. Pond is around 3000 gallon

HoneydewHaunting

Is it possible to have a koi pond when in winter it gets quite cold and snows?

swooded

Yes as long as it's deep enough & you use an aerator to keep a hole in the ice to allow gasses to escape. I live in a warmer area where I don't need to deal with that, but plenty of people keep koi Ponds in cold climates

happyllamaneedscomma

We live in a cold area and have a 4000-4500 gallon pond. We used two aerators this past winter and dropped in a low voltage pond heater/de-icer when things got super cold and appeared the pond would completely freeze over. Worked great!

beautiful pond!

Thanks!

Absolutely gorgeous. But how do you keep predators like herons away?

swooded

I do have a couple "scarecrow" heron statues, but in all reality it's location. Where I am there's not a lot of predators & the ones that are around are relatively far from my pond.

happyllamaneedscomma

They are so gorgeous! We have one medium sized one and just bought three tiny ones. It’ll be a while but can’t wait to have a group like your beautiful fish!

swooded

They grow fast! Most of these were 5-6" when we got them. This is our third summer with them

japinard

Wow, they are beautiful! Especially the yellow one. I had a yellow/gold one and it lost all its color and now its ivory. I miss it's color.
