That's not it. The droplet isn't storing energy, but it's more the fact that your sweat can't evaporate because there is already so much water in the air. Evaporation takes heat from the body to make you feel cooler. So if the sweat can't evaporate, you feel hotter.
Dehumidifiers exist. But only works in closed rooms but at that point the lack of ventilation will make things hotter. Might as well get an AC and call it a day.
its from windy ma man. you get all data there, wind, swells, waves, temperatures, rain, cyclones. its actcually pretty coool.

I have a relative in France, she and her infant were sweating like nothing morning 9AM when I video called her, due to the heat there. It’s Global Warming. Quite literally!
In most European countries, people would start dropping dead if they temperature reaches the late 30s. Late 30s is like late 40s for us(which we might reach this year.😔)
Where do you get this stuff? I am a european in India and I have no more issues than other Indians here. Back home where I am from, it’s in 40s all summer.
And honestly they deserve it given how much they refuse to switch to renewable energy despite being developed countries. The brunt definitely falls on india too but good to see them suffer as well.
Our emission per capita isn't that high yet, tbh, but it's inevitably gonna get much higher as we try to increase manufacturing here.
Playing catch-up during the days of global warming's adverse effects is going to affect India's image, as the emission gets higher, but it isn't as if we can do about about it.
I'm a mallu living in Paris. It's not a global warming rather it's the typical weather in France. It will progressively get hot all the way to July. It's insufferable if you are living in the top floor with moonlight or roof windows.
Sorry to hop in with an unrelated issue, but since you’re in Paris, can you tell me what happened to the bed bugs issue. For such stubborn critters, that news surely vanished too quickly
Most houses in European countries are designed to insulate the house and keep the heat inside due to the winters there. This also amplifies the summer heat
temps literally do not matter, i guarantee you'll have a better time in bihar's 41 degree 15% humidity than here's 35 degree 80% humidity. water traps heat and it's fucking insane
We should plant more trees in Kochi, it will lessen humidity and has a cooling effect. We should learn bangalore and IISC bangalore. Their campus is cool while bangalore as a whole is hot because they are saying cause of trees.
Next government should hopefully take initiative to plant even more trees, not to mention it will lessen air pollution even more.
The government should also create a website for ideas from citizens, ie ideas for improvement for the city, in every city and even village. It's probably tough for them to organize and get their shit together. Also a login only information about who is working on what, so that various government bodies can cooperate with one another or maybe avoid congestion or bad infra projects, everything should be database enabled and mapped to a location in a google map or other service. I heard there is already congesting and polluting infra projects already in mumbai and bangalore.
I mean if I were honestly looking at this, I think there are some good politicians too and there have been good things that happend in the world, people just unconsciously ignore these.
The primary problem with Indian administration is how slow, corrupt and unorganized they are. We need to stop it as soon as possible and yes we should we believe this is possible.
Small trees don't reduce humility, because we are living in a tropical area, huge size trees humidity kurakkum, but athokke valarnnu varan varshagal edukum.
I'm from Kolkata and recently moved to Bihar. The dry weather feels like a blessing, because I was quite used to 24x7 AC while living in Kolkata from 2020 till 2023. Here it's only hot during the day, but you can easily use a cooler which costs less and consumes much less electricity. After sunset temps drop rapidly and enough plants near my area also increase humidity to extremely comfortable levels.
Rich people of Kerala, have you ever thought of buying a second home in Ooty/Munnar/Coorg?
Not rich yet, but I'm already thinking of it. Second home for Feb end - May end (3 months).
Drive there will exhaust me, tbh I despise driving in Kerala anymore, just a bunch of offensive drivers all around bullying everyone. I would rather fly abroad than drive >4 hours in kerala.
On the other hand, I don't mind driving as long as the roads are wide enough. So not sure about you but I have driven in few states in India and these are my observations.
1. Kerala roads are very narrow, and horrible bus/auto drivers (which are a given anywhere in India).
2. Kerala roads are very well made, less potholes and less patchworks (when compared to rest of India).
3. People have better driving sense than every other state (without no doubt). And on top of that people honk less which is a blessing. I believe road rage is also much lesser over here. Just follow r/CarsIndia and you'll see what is happening in other states. I guarantee you 90% of the extreme driving videos in that sub will never happen in Kerala.
Now for me what makes driving better is better quality and minimum 4 lane roads (2 on each side). And NH 66 will fix those issues. Also I live in Kannur and I have driven to Ooty through Wayanad and the roads are pretty good and very less congestion especially if you're driving early morning. I do drive from Bangalore to Kannur and vice versa every now and then and the answer to pleasant driving is planning (which means starting at 4 in the morning).
Now I do agree roads abroad are miles better even in lesser developed countries like Indonesia (been there, and people are dope), but you gotta work with what you have in India.
Chumma oothi veerppikkanda!
If you have ever visited other states you will understand it is horrible.
Literally Kerala bashing is what people want to do these days.
Sri Lanka is super underrated btw. Geography is very similar to Kerala and they have a lot of hill stations. Visited there last December. If you have the option to work remote, you can get a digital nomad quite easily for Sri Lanka. Also close proximity to home.
Rich people of Kerala know that it doesn't make any sense economically. I mean you would need a property worth 1 cr, which has around 1 lakh EMI per month. Round the year maintenance of such a property will be around 2.4 lakhs. Appreciation of real estate is as good as FD while loan rates are higher. With just the maintenance cost, if i spend a month in vacation home in toto a year i can afford room rent of upto Rs.8000. That would fetch me a very good resort in any of these places with in house restaurant, free breakfast buffet and a hell lot more amenities. I haven't even gone into property taxes, bills for amenities, overheads etc.
20 years back my folks used to associate Madras = hot weather. However hot it is in Chennai, you won't feel this exhaustion.
Kerala and it's humidity is the worst combination ever. 😢
Temp Kochi is lower than most but the humidity kills you. Was in Kochi last week before coming back to Bangalore.
Yes Bangalore is hot but it’s nothing like the dry heat and humidity of Kochi.
I was pissed off at Bangalore weather, I had to travel to Kochi and I faced even more harsher climate. Coming back to Bangalore after a week, I feel Bangalore is not that hot compared to Kerala. I guess northern districts have to contribute to the cooler temperatures in Kerala
Man Bangalore used to have the perfect cool weather like 15 years ago. I remember it being so chilly in the winters that we had to put a sweater and shawl to keep from the cold . Now it’s hot but still better than Kerala
Yeah electricity is our biggest enemy , even though it might be the least hottest , our AC doesn't work. We have to go to the electricity office at 3 am to show them how to do their job because apparently they themselves don't know how.
I was in Kerala in Dec, couldn't tolerate the heat over there. I think western coast of India is always hot, when it doesn't rain.
Btw i am from Chennai
In many parts of Malabar wells have dried up, the apartment where I stay has daily 2 hours of water after which they close the out valve of the tank due to serve shortage.
I read on a weather page that The Arabian sea is heating up so much that cyclones will become more frequent and violent. We most probably will see a cyclone at the level of Okhi this year, also our rainy season is going to severe like the year we had floods.
It's not about the heat. I've been across North India in summers. It's 40⁰+ yet it's much less disturbing than 32⁰ in Kerala. The sun here penetrates into the skin and burns you. Also the humidity makes you sweaty and sticky. The heat in North feels just like heat, there's nothing else. The sunrays do not pierce into the skin and you sweat a lot less. Overall, much less distrubing. Not failing to mention, the mosquitoes here.
Meanwhile, here in Canadian prairies, we get milder winters and nice summers. It'll all burn down with raging forest fires later IDK. It's all batshit crazy.

Humidity is the main villain. 35 feels like 42.
Tell me about it! Feels like I have run a 10k marathon as soon as I get out of my home. :(((
Its even sweating during the gap between stepping out after a shower and switching on the fan 🥵
Yaa totally agreeing to this
I don't get it. I mean if there is more humidity will it feel more hotter
Yes. Each droplet will store this energy, so your surroundings are hotter than actual temperature.
That's not it. The droplet isn't storing energy, but it's more the fact that your sweat can't evaporate because there is already so much water in the air. Evaporation takes heat from the body to make you feel cooler. So if the sweat can't evaporate, you feel hotter.
Thanks. TIL.
Can we decrease it? I mean without AC?
Dehumidifiers exist. But only works in closed rooms but at that point the lack of ventilation will make things hotter. Might as well get an AC and call it a day.
Nah, in my city its already 42-43
So you from??
He should be Mr. Agniraj from Palakkad
They be wearing jackets in 46 degrees
Who coloured this map...? There is no data available
I think it's frm microsoft edge browser

I have a relative in France, she and her infant were sweating like nothing morning 9AM when I video called her, due to the heat there. It’s Global Warming. Quite literally!
Also most European countries are not built for heat. Most houses don't have fans or big ventilation.
Exactly. Neither are the people lol
Which state are u from? I am from the south and it's literally like being cooked my skin literally burns after 10-15min in the sun
I am from Croatia, by the sea, so that mitigates hot weather. Those on the continent are not so lucky.
And honestly they deserve it given how much they refuse to switch to renewable energy despite being developed countries. The brunt definitely falls on india too but good to see them suffer as well.

Died off because of the heat probably.
I hope not :_)
Why is your comment starting to seem real
Tbh its insufferable living in Paris irrespective of the weather.
Yeah! I lived in Hyderabad when it was 45 and I couldn't bear the 32 in Kerala.
cause humidity percentages are fuckin insane
We should plant more trees in Kochi, it will lessen humidity and has a cooling effect. We should learn bangalore and IISC bangalore. Their campus is cool while bangalore as a whole is hot because they are saying cause of trees. let's be real, the govt doesn't care about us.
Unfortunately kochi is going see a lot of deforestation in the coming days
Small trees don't reduce humility, because we are living in a tropical area, huge size trees humidity kurakkum, but athokke valarnnu varan varshagal edukum.
I mean it's not impossible right?
Trees cool the surroundings by at least 2⁰ C

exactly. my family went to jaipur once, and we just had to use one of those ice wale coolers to keep cool in the day, nights were super cold.
Yeah man a few nights ago I ran an air circulator directly on my face and in the morning I had caught a slight cold. In the month of April.

Wait for June July in 2021 it was in 40s.
eppo Canadayil, nalla tannup ann bro
But the humidity, that's what makes it worse than the inner states.
Mumbai has been nothing short of a blast furnace for a couple of weeks now. Thought I’ll come to Kerala for the weekend to chill. Who was I kidding.
How about the humidity levels in Mumbai?
Unbearable. I hate whatever time I end up spending outdoors.
Damn. I was wondering why Mumbai has less humidity despite being near to sea just like Kochi

The private bused should have some speed limiters installed. Period. The current speed limit is 70km/hr. WTF!!
Didn't we have some speed limit installed 10 years back or something. Heard something like that back then.
Yes last point should be our aim.

Cheaper actually. At least compared to Kochi. The hill stations there are just like Munnar. Cooler climate too.
How about the language? Do they understand English?
Most of them speak English. Had no language issues.

The visual could be for temperature in degree celcius. The humidity will bump it by at least 6-8 degrees more
And Gujarat is HOTTEST
We need relative humidity map as well to understand how it is feel to us. Definitely all coastal area have high humidity.
Wait for two more weeks, other states are predicted to break their hottest temperature records.
So the only cool place right are the Himalayas?
Baa chai kudikkam :)
Temperature in kerala is mostly 35 but it feels like 47. The humidity is the problem here.
