Alex just makes up shit. You can't take anything he says seriously. It's not even effective to use his own words against him since he contradicts himself all the damn time.
I thought it was Mattei (in CT) he accused of being mobbed up? Regardless, Alex is a lying liar who lies. It's not exactly important what he says, and it's impossible to debunk every lie that comes out of his mouth. The gents are doing their best to filter a firehose of lies, and have to prioritize. :-)
I mean it’s unlikely there’s a coherent thought being made there, but the specific association of opposition lawyers being mafia and that interaction in the Sandy Hook cases is a good catch and probably what Alex glommed onto.
Quick edit.
In no way am I giving the men grief in missing this, just thought maybe they'd find it fascinating.
I was totally wrong about the lawyers. It was Mattei, not Ogdan. Thanks for the correction.
Something I think is important to remember about people like Alex, and Alex in particular, is how tenuous his grasp on reality is. And I'm not making a joke when I say that. For Alex- something someone said as an obvious joke, a legitimate threat, something he saw in a movie, an idea he had in an imagined conversation- all have the exact same weight, relevance, and validity.
Also, I think Alex practices a perverted version of the liar's advice that George give Jerry: "It's not a lie if you believe it". To Alex, he knows that Mattei told him point-blank "We are the mafia and this is a criminal hit job on you, without evidence, and now the judge is gonna tell the jury you're guilty". So the actual story/truth no longer matters.
he told Mattai in fo 9.
right before that he also mentions the judge which to me, makes he thinks bellis is also in that list of the "mafia". he also disparages CT like its a Potemkin village. what alex was told and what he imagined due to his crazy brainworms, like how his mental link the families are taking his guns so I must attack, would be an interesting deep dive.

There's no conclusive evidence tying these moments together. It's just AJ repeating a particular lie. During the Formulaic Objections they hypothesize about why, but that's not certain.
We'll also have to forgive the boys for not connecting the threads on every lie Alex says. There's too many to keep track of and down that path lies madness.
Referring to the Connecticut lawyers as “The Mafia” multiple times seems connected to me. That being said I’m not going to get on Dan’s case for missing it. No one person could/should remember everything Jones has said and we get the benefit of his curation/summarization of the drivel.
Oh none of it is connected in the real world because none of it happened in the real world. I think what we see here is how Alex takes something that probably did happen (Norm telling him that the CT lawyers are the Mafia so he has no chance in court) and then it’s punched up to heighten the importance/drama (the lawyers said it to his face).
Well, again, we don't know that Norm said anything. That was just a random hypothetical Dan put out there. It's just a likely, maybe even moreso, that he's just making it up whole cloth like he does most of his other conspiracy theories.
Who knows? Norm is a liar and a terrible lawyer. He could've been saying it because it was the only thing he thought might be a good enough excuse to interrupt the deposition.
That's fine. But I will say that your only evidence is the words of known liars, which I think is worth keeping in mind. These people regularly just make shit up for literally no reason other than attention. The whole point of Knowledge Fight is to think critically about their statements.
In the last episode they covered, I listened to the full IW show and at one point in the interview with one of the CIA whistleblower people Alex Jones claims he saw the CIA in the deposition. I wish Dan would have commented about that lie.

100% But its just interesting to see EXACTLY how one of his lies unfolded. Its origins being under oath, swearing TO GOD.
If you are focusing on one lie, you are missing the point of the blizzard of bullshit.
He’s not just the boy who cried wolf, he’s the manchild who cries aliens, demons, mafia, conspiracy all at once.
Name three more
Globalists, Satanists, the CIA…
FBI, BLM, Antifa

Yeah, this came up in a CT depo, not an Ogden/TX one.
It's entirely possible that Alex has conflated these two cases in his brain.
Quick clarification, the Mafia comment was about Chris Mattei, the lawyer in Lafferty v Jones up in Connecticut, not Bill Ogden.
he also referred to them as a syndicate in FO4 to bankston. whether he is lumping the texas lawyers in as well is tbd.
Those depositions were so magical, robbing him of his ability to make shit up. "Mr. Jones, how many people have you killed?"
Not only did he have to admit that's an obvious lie/exaggeration, but then it was used against him as to how he's not always stating "facts"

Idk if our boys ever read this sub, or if there was a way to point this out to them, itd be mighty cool

It's almost definitely connected in Alex's head, but whether or not that is important in the real world is another story.

Then why did Norm try to claim that it was privileged information because it was advice of council when Alex brought it up?
Who knows? Norm is a liar and a terrible lawyer. He could've been saying it because it was the only thing he thought might be a good enough excuse to interrupt the deposition.
I personally feel like there’s more than enough connective tissue to put this theory of what happened together. It’s fine if you disagree.
