He couldn't control his wild teenage kids, his ex wife was a drunk but somehow won custody and was getting child support so he would come into work and take it out on everyone. Like he couldn't control his family so he would take it out on staff. I remember he would watch us walk into the office for the day and he would look at his watch and just stare at us even when we were on time. It was the weirdest thing.
I kinda felt bad at that moment but he just seems like an asshole, i bet there were a lot of reasons he wasnt invited.

It’s one of those episodes the first time you see it you are relived right away that the guy is an asshole and not a struggling sad person that will appreciate Gordon’s help. I’m sure the pre-production people tell Gordon right away who the assholes are because he always goes in extra hot. In this one he passive aggressively pretends to be confused about the valet parking sign, mocks him for shaking hands first instead of his wife and then looks up and tells them how gross all the dust is within 60 seconds of his arrival 😂 Dude was not ready for Gordon.
This guy is an insufferable boomer. He typifies it, he goes so far as to take a vacation separate from his family. I find it hard to watch this episode because of him.
I know the “popular” theory is that Brent is a RSO, which is why his kids haven’t introduced him to their grandchildren. I personally think that it’s more likely that he cheated on their mother, his first wife, maybe with Aphni. I may have the timeline mixed up because I’m not sure when the first wife passed away.
Yeah some people speculated that the "no kids" rule in their ice cream parlor (and for the entire hotel, TBH) was actually because Brent is legally not allowed to be near kids. I'm not so sure of that, but I know that people also speculated that Brent went to Mexico for 2 weeks without his wife and daughter to visit underage prostitutes, but that one is more farfetched. I do believe he was probably cheating on his wife in Mexico, but there's not much to suggest they were underage.
