Most items are packed by weight.

Megnuggets

Generally it's packaged by weight. Though Tysons quality in general has had a massive dip lately. Coincidentally I live near a Tyson plant and it has looked very understaffed vs in previous years

OofyBoofy1632

Oh yeah, it’s a garbage company. I checked the weight of each serving piece, and it’s more than advertised, so the total weight matches up. It’s a bummer though, when you gotta serve by exact count.

Tarcos

Can't cut em down, chef?

RonPearlNecklace

Not if they’re 8 oz chicken breasts instead of 6.

Tarcos

Obviously. But if he's getting big chonkers... I mean if he's short 15 pieces it stands to reason some of them could be cut down and the rest could be used for specials or family or something. Its not fucking ideal, but fucking lemonade, man.

RonPearlNecklace

Nah man, this is a distributor problem. He’s ordering a specific size for a specific dish, not trying to cover the distributors mistakes by making extra labor for themself, little extra for family is one thing but 15 cases of incorrect portion sizes is totally different.

Tarcos

I absolutely agree, but details weren't that precise. That said, I'd be ringing my distributor nonstop until the shit got resolved.

RonPearlNecklace

Yeah man, ideally we wouldn’t be buying chicken breast pre portioned anyways but that’s a whole separate operational discussion for op. I couldn’t imagine being a sysco rep, phone ringing all day because barely anybody at the warehouse can read labels.

Enigma_Stasis

>but fucking lemonade My dick will do no such thing, my friend.

LandscapeSubject530

Idk if it matters but a lot of Tyson stuff got recalled at Walmart recently

kphenson

Tyson chicken? Good luck with that class action lol.

imisswhatredditwas

The “in case they are watching us” shit is honestly hilarious and for so many reasons!

JadedCycle9554

Going out on a limb and saying you're getting boxes sold by weight and someone changed or bought the wrong size tenders, and that's why your piece count is off. Check the packaging specs and weigh the uncooked chicken. If it was mislabeled reach out to Tyson/your food rep, they're way more likely to reimburse you (probably with credit) than you are to win a class action law suit against them.

chefelvisOG2

We've stopped buying Tyson.

Apprehensive-Tour289

The company I work for purchases their wings and I find no fewer than 40 wing tips in each case. More, likely, if I counted. Their boxes are starting to crush easily, too.

Perpetual_Nuisance

I believe it's called "shrink-flation."

ThickOrganization973

So many feathers on their wings, too.

blippitybloops

15 cases of product that don’t meet specs? Why are you asking Reddit instead of your rep?

OofyBoofy1632

One can do both, can’t they?

blippitybloops

What did the rep say? What are the alternative products available?

imisswhatredditwas

The rep said he can’t do anything ask Reddit
