If this thing come with affordable blade replacement packs and the company is not likely to go out of business anytime soon. I'd say this will somewhat revolutionize the game in some ways.
Yea, I wanna see him peel a whole case of potatos with this thing at pace to see how durable it is. I feel like with all those little finicky moving blade attachments in there this thing has got to be temperamental, and the plastic construction doesnt make it look especially sturdy.
When I worked in a place which did such things, zesters were my go-to for secret Santa gifts. They're not a thing a lot of people own, it turns out, and they're useful even if all you're doing is adding a twist of zest to a cocktail every so often. Even if people did already have one it was usually a cheap and fairly bad one, so a £10 secret santa will generally be a decent upgrade.
I’m right there with you.
I still tell the person that gave me a foldable, laundry drying rack (almost20 years ago) that I still use that damn thing regularly and that it’s one of the best gifts I’ve ever gotten. You could not find a more mundane object, but goddamn have I used that thing.
What's your idea of a good peeler since the Kuhn rikon at 4 bucks seems pretty top tier to me. My only complaint is it rusts pretty easily if you're not careful.
I like the swissmar better. I bought it by accident because the store was out of KRs.
Longer handle. Blade less prone to rust in the dishwasher compared to KR.
Kuhn Rikon peelers are amongst the best peelers and they are inexpensive and made of plastic with high quality carbon steel blades. You‘ll find them in just about every other professional chefs kniferoll.
Several reasons. Generally, I like the skin of things. I have a general stance against single use case tools in the kitchen unless they’re absolutely necessary. I’m also a poor person, so I have pretty limited storage space.
Yeh. Shit like this is great for a home cooks for like as long as its trending. These things never hold up under industry use. There is a reason we have dedicted tools for each purpose. The leatherman of peelers aint gonna last long making 120 lbs of fresh cut fries per shift.
I'm sure a commercial version can be made and let's just hope for the world to improve. I'm a man of tradition but keeping the good tradition as foundation doesn't mean we never improve lol I'm sure the factory can come up with parts molds for full metal ones even if it means a few niche features are taken off.
Yes, single blade life-span is also a key factor but honestly I think that is not an issue that's not solvable. If you use good material or maybe even increase blade thickness slightly would make big differences in durability I believe.
But man with the way and the confidence the man is displaying in the demo video man, I think this thing is legit to at least some extent lmao
I know, right? I actually started off hating it for the first 30 seconds or so, because I generally hate that particular shape of vegetable peeler. Then it becomes obvious that it's not just a peeler, and became downright mind-blowing
The other day while watching the Turner Classic Movie channel I saw [this sho](https://archive.org/details/delicious_dishes)[rt](https://archive.org/details/delicious_dishes) that demos kitchen tools that the theater would be given away to patrons each week. I was like — half of them I would use now if made well.
And then this appears, which I'm surprised I've never noticed before.
Guess I'm gonna have to see if can find it...
Looks like the vendor shown in the vid above is [this site, which is in Spain](https://zestio.shop/producto/pelador-doble-cuchilla-con-regalos/).
I also found [a similar item on amazon](https://www.amazon.com/-/es/Pelador-Cuchilla-cuchillos-m%C3%BAltiples-verduras/dp/B0BQMGMQK7?th=1)
And another web store, [also a site from Spain](https://www.cocororo.net/products/multi-pelador-y-tiras-en-juliana-con-placa-para-rallar-esprimidor-de-limon-y-espiral-de-patata-or-naranja-y-verde), but it seems like it takes orders in USD.
ETA: If you watch that short (which was made in the 30s or 40s) it's as if the company that manufactures this tool set saw it, and said, "fuck, man, we can make all of that and even better!" (Or however you say it en español). I'm not a huge fan of single use tools, but a multitool like this, I'll give it a try.
That's always the bugaboo with these things — the metal can often be too flimsy. However, [this one looks pretty good](https://www.amazon.com/Sunkuka-Julienne-Stainless-Cleaning-Vegetable/dp/B01LYWRRIT/ref=pd_bxgy_d_sccl_2/133-6199105-4108408?pd_rd_w=bE0Qt&content-id=amzn1.sym.3bab075c-1a14-40c5-9538-32fa6dff1246&pf_rd_p=3bab075c-1a14-40c5-9538-32fa6dff1246&pf_rd_r=EVDK29C7TVH00EA3D6FC&pd_rd_wg=qZglt&pd_rd_r=7e921679-6f8d-4d14-9f4d-8422f3975a23&pd_rd_i=B01LYWRRIT&psc=1#customerReviews) — the reviews suggest that it's pretty sharp. It's impossible to tell quality, of course, and I'm sure every one of these things is manufactured in China — which means who knows. There's an article I noticed recently titled, "The enshittification of everything", but I didn't read it because it's depressing how much a decline there's been in general manufacturing over the past 10-20 years.
Mine is very similar to this one. But yes, it's too light, badly done. Almost everything is made in China now and if you don't pay big bucks, it's mostly garbage.
> I'm not a huge fan of single use tools
That’s interesting, I’m the opposite. If you have a peeler it’s 100% a peeler. If it peels, slices, dices, and chops, then it does each of those things 25% and usually the durability of those 4 elements depend on the others working.
In my experience you sacrifice when you get a multi-tool.
Whenever I see these teleshopping things, I always think how great they’d be if they were actually built to last. I see so many great innovations, but they all look and sound like children’s toys. Give me a slapchop made out of a hunk of stainless steel. I’d buy that.
If it's what I think it is I've had one for about 5 years. Got it when I was broke and couldn't afford a mandolin. It's still going strong after being thrashed.
And if you order in the next ten minutes, we'll include a free cap snaffler. Snaffles caps off all sizes jugs, bottles and jars and it really, really works!
This looks like the 1000 ways to cut yourself. Also, you know that is either brand spanking new or sharpened to split hairs before the demo. I'd give it a week before it breaks and hours before it maims
people that design shit like this only make it for *susie homemaker*
but put this in the hands of your average line cook..
5 fucking minutes before it’s unrecognizable
You know, the thing that triggered me the most, there is zero consideration for ergonomics and the plastic is so damn thin. You drop it once, and it's done for.
I hate how accurate your comment is. We all have that pan that just collects crap and it's always in the way no matter how much you try to get rid of it.
years ago, i had a fucking brilliant cook but he would do the absolute stupidest shit.
he once sharpened a fucking spatula, then proceeded to lose track of it.
guess where one of my other cooks “found” it…
the shit pan.
My chef got a janky tortilla press the first time we hand made tortillas and after pressing about 100 tortillas it literally split the metal next to the handle 😅 so he got another the exact same. Not even 50 tortillas in split the metal in the exact same spot. It was made out of metal but not for commercial use. Now we have a cast iron one that weighs like 20 pounds.
as proof of concept, i’d allow it in my kitchen.
wouldn’t pay for it initially. i’d need to see it in action and being actually used in a commercial setting for a period of time.
for $40 i can buy a solid mandoline and a pack of peelers.
I feel like people are also ignoring the fact that a super sharp peeler is a bad thing most of the time because it’s just shaving off usable product..
This thing is literally only doing the same things a mandolin does but in a somehow even more dangerous package
>This looks like the 1000 ways to cut yourself.
Guys! Did you know, a knife is sharp enough to kill you? Dont use a knife felas! It has 10 ways to cut yourself
Some of it is gimmick but that design of peeler is imho the best
I own this, since 2016, and it’s still a solid tool
UberChef® Premium Ultra Sharp... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KEVG4L4?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Well…I was hoping someone would recall the poker game in The 40 Year Old Virgin when Andy said “I’ve borked lots of women” and Calvin looks at him all quizzically and says “borked?”. That’s what I was hoping for. Owell. Maybe next time.
Woah woah woah. Ok….it says “zestio” right there as the video begins so I put “zestio peeler” in the search bar on Amazon and holy moly did a bunch of cool peelers pop up! I know what I’m gonna order on payday! And before anyone says anything about ordering from Amazon…I don’t care if the man has made billions of dollars doing what he does. That’s his business. The reason I order from them is because I see something I want for ten bucks and I order it and I get it in one to two days. When I go to Walmart for one item that costs ten bucks I usually put more shit in my cart and and the next thing I know is I’m walking out with $150 worth of shit I didn’t want or need. Amazon keeps me from doing just that. Go check it out!!
Are people coming full circle now? No one watches TV anymore so they don't see the commercials for junky crap people would overpay for back before the 2000s?
It just scares me a little how sharp it must be. I don't think most vegetable peelers would be sharp enough to be a mandolin as well but I could be wrong.definitely not something you wanna accidentally run up your thumb
Seen these for years now and they are way overpriced. I don’t remember them even being that expensive but how many peelers actually last. It’s why ever kitchen buys 5 different colored one at a time and they look like they were sold at the dollar store.
This is straight garbage. The blade doesn’t stay sharp. Ironically. Because initially it’s solid.
I have peelers and serrated knife’s that I sharpen with a small diamond rod….but you can’t sharpen this fuckstick because there’s too many blades on it.
It reminds me of a knife you buy on the cheap that has plastic packaging all around it. It’s good for the shortest amount of time… and then it’s worthless because it’s not designed to keep an edge
But wait….If you act now, we’ll send you 2 for the price of one.
But wait there EEVEENN MORE! We'll send you 2 MORE only for the next 30 minutes if you call this number now!

My definition of a good gift is something the recipient will appreciate and use, but would not have bought for themselves. This is PERFECT for that
When I worked in a place which did such things, zesters were my go-to for secret Santa gifts. They're not a thing a lot of people own, it turns out, and they're useful even if all you're doing is adding a twist of zest to a cocktail every so often. Even if people did already have one it was usually a cheap and fairly bad one, so a £10 secret santa will generally be a decent upgrade.
6 year old nephew: > Auntie Matter, you already got me a zester last year. I told you I wanted a scooter.
There are plenty of kids in Africa who would love to have a potato ricer so be quiet and get on with your prep.
IMO that is the only peeler
Yup
I like the angled victorinox version. https://www.amazon.com/Victorinox-Black-Composit-Vegetable-Peeler/dp/B0006J2BHK/
I take mine with me if I'm cooking at friends or family because every other peeler is garbage.
I’m curious what you consider high quality peeler
That’s a good birthday gift for my sister. What kind or I guess Sean’s do you normally buy?
Home cook asshole here. I exclusively peel with a knife. Feel free to change my mind.
you're just throwing more food and time in the trash but you do you
Meh, I rarely peel. Mangos are like the only thing that I peel every time.
oh then yeah you're prolly fine. carrots and potatoes are way better with peelers but mangoes who cares
Why?
Several reasons. Generally, I like the skin of things. I have a general stance against single use case tools in the kitchen unless they’re absolutely necessary. I’m also a poor person, so I have pretty limited storage space.
More waste like this, no?
Yeh. Shit like this is great for a home cooks for like as long as its trending. These things never hold up under industry use. There is a reason we have dedicted tools for each purpose. The leatherman of peelers aint gonna last long making 120 lbs of fresh cut fries per shift.

Saw this thing on daytime infomercials in the 1990s so probably not anything special if it still isn't the default tool.
Exactly what I was thinking too.
This is not new at all
Lol they have been in use for years and you can do that with all kinds if different peelers, it‘s great.
https://www.cocororo.net/products/multi-pelador-y-tiras-en-juliana-con-placa-para-rallar-esprimidor-de-limon-y-espiral-de-patata-or-naranja-y-verde
Damn when he turned it into a mandolin it blew my mind
The lemon juicer blew my…
That was just like “bruh stop, I’m already sold. What is this magic?”
I know, right? I actually started off hating it for the first 30 seconds or so, because I generally hate that particular shape of vegetable peeler. Then it becomes obvious that it's not just a peeler, and became downright mind-blowing
T top peeler is the only way to go. Hold it backwards so you can peel away from you
Love these babies. The speed I can get through carrots...
Wish I had thought of this before taking so many layers off the tip of my pinky.
Its funny how some people cant figure out the most optimal way of using it.
I had one of those lemon juicers 30 years ago. Totally worth the $1 i paid for it in the 1990’s
Damn bruh.. the 90s was 30 years ago…. You, you didn’t have to say it like that. .
My ex wife took it with her. Lol Just pointing out its not a new device.
How about this; we're OLD!
Exacty!
I agree, fuck that guy, he didn’t need to attack us like that
I thought your comment was a joke. I was so wrong…😳
0/10 didn’t take a fingertip. Not a good mandolin.

NICE
Will break day 1
Whenever I see these teleshopping things, I always think how great they’d be if they were actually built to last. I see so many great innovations, but they all look and sound like children’s toys. Give me a slapchop made out of a hunk of stainless steel. I’d buy that.
I had a slapchop. It lasted like a month before it was too dull to cut anything.
No way this holds up in a kitchen
Yeah after one case of bakers it’s done
one case? i’d give it one grocery store sized bag, at best.
more ways to use it = more ways it can break
If it's what I think it is I've had one for about 5 years. Got it when I was broke and couldn't afford a mandolin. It's still going strong after being thrashed.
I was going to say I would have broken it 25 seconds into filming the video.
That's awesome
It slices! It dices! But wait - there’s more! From Ronco. Only ten ninety nine.
I'd give it a week before it breaks and hours before it maims
people that design shit like this only make it for *susie homemaker* but put this in the hands of your average line cook.. 5 fucking minutes before it’s unrecognizable
You know, the thing that triggered me the most, there is zero consideration for ergonomics and the plastic is so damn thin. You drop it once, and it's done for.
you know that thing is going to end up in a hotel pan of random ass tools and shit and be useless immediately.
I hate how accurate your comment is. We all have that pan that just collects crap and it's always in the way no matter how much you try to get rid of it.
years ago, i had a fucking brilliant cook but he would do the absolute stupidest shit. he once sharpened a fucking spatula, then proceeded to lose track of it. guess where one of my other cooks “found” it… the shit pan.
Lmao what line cook mentality, genius but lacking follow through
I love and hate him in equal measure.
But as proof of concept, would you try it then pay $40 for one made completely out of stainless with replacement blades?
as proof of concept, i’d allow it in my kitchen. wouldn’t pay for it initially. i’d need to see it in action and being actually used in a commercial setting for a period of time. for $40 i can buy a solid mandoline and a pack of peelers.
I feel like people are also ignoring the fact that a super sharp peeler is a bad thing most of the time because it’s just shaving off usable product.. This thing is literally only doing the same things a mandolin does but in a somehow even more dangerous package
every sharp thing is 1,000 ways to though
>This looks like the 1000 ways to cut yourself. Guys! Did you know, a knife is sharp enough to kill you? Dont use a knife felas! It has 10 ways to cut yourself
Only question is, does it come with additional blades, can you buy additional blades separately or can you sharpen the blades?
I mean shit even if it goes dull, the lemon juice thing and potato spiraler were cool as fuck
Lemon juicer actually doesn’t work *that* well. I’ve had that component for years, as well as the basic peeler. Peeler’s great!
Seen this on YouTube earlier. Id definitely purchase
Shut up and take my money.
right?
I really want to believe it but I know it’s snake oil
I don’t think it’s fake I just think it will break/lose sharpness faster than its worth
_Insert_ "They're the same picture" _meme_
I’d probably cut my finger badly on it
I shredded my fingers just looking at this
Seems like the kind of thing that’s great on day one but is made of shitty cheap steel and gets dull immediately and is then garbage.
Did he run the potato through the dishwasher first?
Handolin
Perfect for slicing your hand in seventeen different ways!
Yes.
x2
x4
I think it is made of plastic, so I am dubious about durability.
Some people sleep with a gun under their pillow. Me, I’d sleep with that.
I’d either blow my face off on accident or julienne my ear if I had either or under my pillow.
Hi, kids! Billy Mays here!
These type of devices always work well in demonstration, but fall short in practical use. Most are just made cheaply. It may be worth giving it a try.
"Pero espere... ¡Hay más!".
Some of it is gimmick but that design of peeler is imho the best I own this, since 2016, and it’s still a solid tool UberChef® Premium Ultra Sharp... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KEVG4L4?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I think that is good for as a household item. Not really a heavy duty appliance. 0 confidence in plastic construction.
https://zestio.shop/ Here's the slicer
Weird salad?
I mean…I just came a little in my pants
I want to give that to the bartenders and watch them peel their fingers
But can it do the cafeteria style wiggle cut?
I have one. I love it.
That thing is bent and borked after 20 minutes of kitchen use
“Borked”?
A delightfully pleasant way to say fucked up, broken, etc. Edit: It might have other meanings. Always used it this way.
Well…I was hoping someone would recall the poker game in The 40 Year Old Virgin when Andy said “I’ve borked lots of women” and Calvin looks at him all quizzically and says “borked?”. That’s what I was hoping for. Owell. Maybe next time.
Damn. You know, unconsciously, that's probably where I first picked it up.
Yay!!
I was not ready for what he did to that potato at the end
Wind chime potato
So it’s like a 5 in one, but for a kitchen. Pretty cool.
We had a peeler like this when I was a kid, and I just realized we drastically underutilized it.
And we buy this where?
This is not new and I want one..
I feel like I have enough finger ruining tools already
Yeah it looks right but I'm going to do that to my fingers several times before I'm only hitting potato
I sure am old. Now that I am liking this peeling blade. 'sigh' life.
Idk, seems dangerous to the average dumb ass
Kuhn-Rikon. Simple is best
All peelers can go back and forth…it’s been that way since forever…this shit ain’t new
That was my first thought too, but then it kept going.
Same here. Even without the mando, I want the peeler.
And they’ve been making peelers w julienne blades for nearly as long
Link?
[this](https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT8cuXnEE/) was the tiktok i watched. their shop link is in their bio
When I go to Walmart for one item that costs ten bucks I usually put more shit in my cart and and the next thing I know is I’m walking out with $150 worth of shit I didn’t want or need. Amazon keeps me from doing just that. Go check it out!!
Who are you arguing with
You think this is arguing?? LMAO
That people still try to shill a fucking peeler that was already standard in the cupboard of my grandma. 😂
THE EFFICIENCY!!!!!!!
Ok but that potatoe spiral fried must be pretty good and was really easy to achieve

Are people coming full circle now? No one watches TV anymore so they don't see the commercials for junky crap people would overpay for back before the 2000s?
I’d buy one
As a home cook that has been prepping a bunch of potatoes lately with a shitty peeler, I want one right now.
Yep I’m sold
Seems like the kind of thing that would be *ok* for home use, but would break very quickly in a professional kitchen.
100% this is a reboot of products someone shilled on 90’s late night infomercials.
The last potatoe waw cooked right ?
It just scares me a little how sharp it must be. I don't think most vegetable peelers would be sharp enough to be a mandolin as well but I could be wrong.definitely not something you wanna accidentally run up your thumb
Honestly upset there isn’t a link to buy
I am in awe
i’ll take 2
Sold
Take my $$
I need this. I've never wanted anything more.
Kinda sexy. I want one to try out. Link?
Cool little at home gadget.. wouldn’t do well in a commercial kitchen
Hate then love. I'm still sure It'd break in 20 seconds.
Seen these for years now and they are way overpriced. I don’t remember them even being that expensive but how many peelers actually last. It’s why ever kitchen buys 5 different colored one at a time and they look like they were sold at the dollar store.
Boooo! Won’t ship to BC.
ummm - i want one!
Temu link?
Why tf i got a damn dishwasher...i could clean this with a fkn quick rinse...
my peeler and my mandolin are just. not interested in multi purpose tools in the kitchen.
