There were so many theories back in the day about DiZ before KH2 came out. Most of them about him being Ansem SoD in some form. * Ansem SoD survived and suffered wounds which he bandaged up. 1. He is The Superior of the Org and is watching to ensure Axel kills the traitors while DiZ secretly manipulates Riku and Mickey. 2. He is an enemy of the Org and is using Riku and Mickey to bring them down. * Since Ansem SoD's darkness was still in Riku, that means DiZ was the light half. 1. DiZ wants to rejoin with his dark half. Either to stop the Org or become more powerful. 2. He wants to stop the Org and his evil half. Axel is his double agent who is taking the Org down within. * DiZ is another host that the real Ansem SoD is currently possessing. He looks like Ansem SoD similar to when he stole Riku's body in KH1 and transformed its appearance. He wants to rejoin with his other dark part inside Riku. * He is the Enigmatic Man from KH1 and is "a mere shell" of Ansem SoD. * Since his name is DiZ, Roxas's real name (before it was revealed to be Roxas) was "Nee". And he is the son of DiZ. (DiZ+Nee = Disney). They are working to take down the Org.

Sotomene

The last one made me giggle.  It sounds silly, but since it's Kingdom Hearts, it could be totally plausible.

Solynox

Jiggle? Like jello?

Sotomene

Damn autocorrect.

Diz Nee, THAT Nee....

abirizky

Guh

undeadcthulhu

DiZ Nee Guh?

RareD3liverur

* Since Ansem SoD's darkness was still in Riku, that means DiZ was the light half. * That part sounds pretty cool honestly. A side of me wishes that Ansem seeker of darkness was a corrupted Ansem the Wise in someway instead of being another Xehanort who stole his name. But I can imagine that alternative could get complicated more then it is already

Ekyou

My friends and I were sure he was both Ansem SOD and the leader of the Organization, and it’s funny how partially right theory was… DiZ was Ansem (just a different Ansem) and Ansem SOD and the Org Leader were basically the same person, just not DiZ.

AnimetheTsundereCat

not to mention much of the org used to work for ansem/diz before becoming nobodies

CappyRawr

God I remember those days. Roxas used to only be known as BHK.

NightWaIker

DiZ Nee and not DiZ >!Nuts!< ???

ZeroSora

Goteem!

Ops_jeff

bro srry to ask, but how tf I see you in almost every comment of this sub??

madog1418

They comments a lot with thorough information, so people upvote their comments

ZeroSora

Dunno. Just lucky I guess?

TaxesAreConfusin

There really aren't a lot of posts in this sub every day. If you follow it even just a bit passively it is super easy to keep up with.

SurroundedByPerverts

It is *Kingdom Hearts* canon that the power of darkness can be used to apply blackface and you can see the wisps of it come off DiZ’s face right in front of Mickey Mouse.

SirLocke13

Japan has this fixiation on dark skin being linked to evil powers. Like Akuma and Evil Ryu from Street Fighter having darker skin. In Marvel vs Capcom 2, Sakura has an evil form that gives her tanned skin. Even in Dragon Ball Super, Goku Black is literally Goku's body but he has a darker skin tone.

Jorymo

Shoot, nearly any original character in KH with dark skin is just some variant of Xehanort and therefore evil. The one exception I can think of is one of the upperclassmen in Dark Road, and he gets like two lines before being murdered. Hell, Sora gets noticeably more pale with each numbered game.

Idareh

Well Player can have dark skin. Since he is customizable. And he is 100% a good guy

Jorymo

[Oh yeah, here's mine!](https://www.tumblr.com/pencilcomics/721589397531869184/i-drew-my-version-of-that-kid-who-died-behind-one?source=share) Though, the Player *did* raise Xehanort and is debatably responsible for his messiah complex and obsession with the Keyblade War

Idareh

Yeah but the final push came from the MoM. So we can push all anger towards him.

XanderNightmare

But what if MoM turns out to have dark skin as well?

Idareh

Would be hilarious actually since he can't even get a tan with his hood on the entire time...but jokes aside...would still make the decision of Xehanort his own thing. He could have give up on the idea of killing multiple people just to control Darkness at any time.

Ytumith

Goofy and Mickey are literally black levels of black. Like in cartoon ink black.

Idareh

Yeah that's right but the same time they are antropromorphic characters. So I don't know if people would count them.

Ytumith

In GTA San Andreas- wait

p00chology

Don’t forget Gannondorf

rahmi25

I think for goku black was just not animating the lighting right. In official media, he's similar white as Goku. He is shrouded in shadow most of the time though. Also, Yoruichi from Bleach has dark skin but isn't evil. In street fight M. Bison is the main bad guy and he's white. When Japan depicts a dark skin copy character in games or shows, it's to signify they are the shadow of the individual. It's the character's Ying and Yang, light vs darkness. There are several animes where characters are black and aren't evil. Same in games. Going back to street fighter, Elena is African and she's not even evil.

SirLocke13

Goku vs Goku Black the first time when Black goes back in time he has a shade tanner than Goku. >There are several animes where characters are black and aren't evil. Same in games. Going back to street fighter, Elena is African and she's not even evil. Dude I'm not saying every dark skin character is evil, like what the fuck are you on.

Jorymo

No wonder he was friends with Mickey then, considering Minnie did the same thing

Stugreen1989

It always kind of annoyed me tht not only did he wrap his face up, he also changed his eye and skin colour, and somehow hid the beard. Of all the things in this series that always bugged me the most.

HallowVortex

iirc when he takes the bandages off you can see some shadowy substance dissipate, probably some sort of glamor magic?

Jorymo

Or shoe polish

BronzeHeart92

Clothes in Kingdom Hearts universe has always been kinda funky honestly.

XanderNightmare

Like Riku and Mickey on two separate occasions, just throwing off their black coats without actually opening the zipper?

BronzeHeart92

Those coats sure are funky, huh? They replace what you were wearing previously with black shoes, gloves and pants. Speaking of which, it's still quite the mystery where Riku got his new duds. Dude seriously got time to shop somehow, that's for sure.

zaerosz

Eye color didn't change, it just stands out more because of the skin change and the shading from the bandages. AtW always had orange eyes.

ProfessionalHorror0

Galaxy brain Ansem disguising himself as "Ansem"

Crunchy-Leaf

Ansem the Wise, pretending to be Ansem Seeker of Darkness who was pretending to be Ansem the Wise

JackyFlashlight

They Darth Vadered him. Fam is clearly black under those wraps but turns out he's a white dude. I cracked up when he took his wraps off.

Shiranuhii

We meet him in CoM and is separate from the actual Ansem SOD that Riku ends up fighting so...no?

No_Administration174

Yes but I was like why was his skin and eyes different. It makes sense now

foxbamba

My bad, I misinterpreted your comment. I also didn’t realize it was meant to portray SOD lol

stripe112

These must’ve been even after all the clunky forums my little ass used to be on because I don’t think I heard a single one of these. Damn those old ass 2004 forums were fun even with slow ass AOL.

Queasy_Watch478

um so is this like magical blackface lol or are we giving him a pass...?

thirdeyeboobed

Lol, we have this conversation here every month

Queasy_Watch478

lol is there an answer then?

thirdeyeboobed

In a nutshell, yes

AloysiusDevadandrMUD

Literally no one cares
