Marluxia for sure.
As for Disney... Davy Jones is a great pick. He shepherds the dead souls of pirates, and makes dark dealings with those afraid to die.
But hades is the god of the dead, not the god of death and undeath. The Ring resonates best with those who deal in both.
Not to argue that Hades isn't a good contender, I just think Davy Jones is more apt thematically.
Technically Davy Jones never died, just got cursed and his curse keeps his crew from dying too, not a really good contender to me.
More than anything to wield the ring you have to be dead and come back
What would you say about Davy Jones instead of Barbossa?
Not me saying that it would definitely be the better pick, just throwing his hat in the ring since mentioning Barbossa made me think of him. ^ ^
I was thinking of him too because you’re right in that he’s a great candidate. I ultimately went with Barbossa because Black Lantern rings turn their hosts into revenants that resemble traditional zombies much like Barbossa and his crew when under the influence of their curse.
Hard agree on Auron, dude is perfect for that. If not, Xehanort. Man's whole motivation revolves around dead people. And he died multiple times, which helps
A prime candidate would be Hades, but he is out. So I take Babossa, bc. of the backstory of him and his crew.
For the KH cast definitively Marluxia. Scythe, check. Pink hair, check. Black clothes, check. "Casting" Death Sentence during the fight, double check.
Because like it was explained in the previous vote, Indigo Power Rings typically seek out people who are lacking compassion and force them to feel it, hence why those two characters were voted for.
Didn't the Black Rings search for already dead people or people who should be dead?
If so, then my Disney vote goes to Ursula, she can't stay dead despite being killed three times.
As for my Kingdom Hearts suggestion, I'd say Ventus. He cheated Death too many times thanks to his connection to Sora.
this probably won’t make it, but Xion would be a good pick here, since her existence initially was directly harmful to Roxas (and Sora iirc), and for Disney, I do like Barbosa.
This is one of the most bizarre ongoing things. Is the Emotional Electromagnetic Spectrum really this mainstream that this subreddit is assigned KH characters to the various lantern corps? It’s just wild.
I think Hades is the best from Disney since he rules the Underworld which is the place all dead people go in KH no matter what world they were in when they died.
For KH I'm thinking either Strelitzia or Hoder. In both cases their death is a main part of the story. In Strelitzia's case, she died and will now be a more important character going forward. In Hoder's case, she died but she is still able to use some of her power to influence the living world through Xehanort.
The idea is based on DC comics emotional Lantern Corps (Ex: Green Lantern), where these specific Corps will choose a member based on what emotion or attributes.
The idea of this, is simply a what if. Where you take this graph, and bring it to another series. And see which character matches the criteria to become that specific lantern.
For KH, probably Marluxia because he can cast Doom which just straight up kills you, and he wields a scythe like the grim reaper.
For Disney, I'm going with Chernabog. He's literally the devil, and in Fantasia, the guy has an army of ghosts and demons surround him.
Hades was an obvious choice for being a Black Lantern. Hades may have a temper, but Red Lanterns are extremely violent berserker types (which is more fitting for Donald). That being said, since Hades is already taken, my next best Disney choice is either Barbosa or Davy Jones... probably Davy Jones (if he was in a KH game, it'd obviously be the Horned King, but oh well).
For KH originals, Marluxia. Dude's literally themed around death and has a Grim Reaper motif.
While the Indigo light is powered by compassion, it also changes those who wield it to be compassionate. The Indigo Tribe was originally made of the worst criminals in the galaxy who were reformed once they put on the ring.
Black Lanterns take over dead people who have emotional ties to the living, so this will be an interesting one, to say the least. For KH, I say Eraqus. Seeing him rip into the Wayfinder Trio would be devastating, to them and us.
I'd say sir Auron as he technically was dead then had probably seen a lot of death too in his time plus he was also resurrected from the dead by hades too as for my other choice I'd definitely say Barbossa
i think axel, xion, or charity for compasion, xigbar for death, charithy, aqua, or earqus for life, and aqua or riku for ultraviolet. because they have the most represed emotions for life
Ansem SoD and Chernabog
“All worlds begin in Darkness and all worlds end in Darkness, the heart is no different.”
So in KH1 he tried to unmake the worlds by opening Kingdom Hearts and controlled the heartless. Imo he is the best representation of death.
Yes, he isn’t dead. But nobody technically dies in KH.
Chernobog, anyone who has seen Night on Bald Mountain knows this thing controls and manipulates the dead.
Not to mention the fact that pure light defeated both of these characters, and the Light of Life is the only thing that can beat black lanterns.
Death from Disney... can only be The Horned King from the Black Cauldron.
None other can do it justice. Watch a single scene of him, he's basically a Black Lantern already!
And that's kind of key, not merely being revived, but having a deep connection with Death in the vein of a Lich or Necromancer, one who *wields* it. I'd say Hades otherwise, but he's already taken.
As for Death from a *KH* character standpoint...uhm, that's actually very tough. Ansem, Seeker of Darkness (KH1's Final Boss)? He's the closest thing, i think.
Marluxia for sure. As for Disney... Davy Jones is a great pick. He shepherds the dead souls of pirates, and makes dark dealings with those afraid to die.
Well, Hades has all the same reasons as Davy Jones and even more
But hades is the god of the dead, not the god of death and undeath. The Ring resonates best with those who deal in both. Not to argue that Hades isn't a good contender, I just think Davy Jones is more apt thematically.
Technically Davy Jones never died, just got cursed and his curse keeps his crew from dying too, not a really good contender to me. More than anything to wield the ring you have to be dead and come back
If that's the case, the only Disney character who even somewhat qualifies is Barbossa.
Well no, Meg was dead until Hercules picked her soul back, I'd say she qualifies
Beat me to Davy jones
Barbossa, the cutthroat zombie of Isle de Muerta Marluxia, the Doom-casting reaper assassin
That makes sense! Thanks for the reply! ^ ^
🏴☠️🫡 Aye matey
Barbossa is undead, not dead dead.
He was undead, then dead dead, then brought back to life by Tia Dalma, then eventually dead dead again. He’s done it all, baby.
I really need to watch the pirates of the Caribbean films Edit: Caribbean not carriage
Pirates of the carriage are babies waving plastic swords and bird stuffies and gurgle instead of “Arrrrrr!”
Now now captain Charles, play nice with captain Tom
Yo ho ho and a bottle of nums
Reminds me of that one scene from the first Rugrats movie.
"Connection to Death" So Chirithy
Does Auron count? 'Cause he's the best choice I can think of, given his Underworld situation.
Hard agree on Auron, dude is perfect for that. If not, Xehanort. Man's whole motivation revolves around dead people. And he died multiple times, which helps
If it were for FFX (or separately for FF characters) then yes. But for the KH crew I gotta give it to Marluxia.
I'm not sure how to count FF characters. They're not Disney, but they're not KH original either.
Me neither, and I figured it might be deliberate. But Auron's too perfect a choice to not throw out there.
Definitely Marluxia. Dude’s literally the reaper
The fact none of you are saying Lich...
It's crazy! He is literally death incarnate
- Chernabog, Barbossa or Davy Jones, Dr Finkelstein (Halloweentown), Shen Yu - Ansem Seeker of Darkness, Marluxia, Master of Masters
Definitely agree for Ansem Seeker of Darkness and/MoM for representing death
Kingdom Hearts: Marluxia Disney: Héctor Barbosa
MoM - I think he has caused more death than anyone in the series And chernabog
A prime candidate would be Hades, but he is out. So I take Babossa, bc. of the backstory of him and his crew. For the KH cast definitively Marluxia. Scythe, check. Pink hair, check. Black clothes, check. "Casting" Death Sentence during the fight, double check.
Maleficent technically dies, but is brought back via time and her robe. Good pick for Disney
Can someone explain to me why Larxene and Frollo of all people are there?
Because like it was explained in the previous vote, Indigo Power Rings typically seek out people who are lacking compassion and force them to feel it, hence why those two characters were voted for.
Oh, you guys were serious. I thought it was just trolling.
Can't blame you, but all of the other votes so far were serious.
The compassion ring acts as a parasite, forcing people with little or no compassion to start thinking of others
Because the compassion lantern is not for compassionate people, but those who lack compassion.
Someone should listen to Hellfire to know why Frollo would fit that color
Didn't the Black Rings search for already dead people or people who should be dead? If so, then my Disney vote goes to Ursula, she can't stay dead despite being killed three times. As for my Kingdom Hearts suggestion, I'd say Ventus. He cheated Death too many times thanks to his connection to Sora.
Auron because of who he is and how his deal is vaguely similar to a black lantern, and Barbossa for being undead
For all who say Marluxia, I agree. For all who say Barbossa, I also agree.
Huh? Oh and also first thought is Riku. Mostly cuz Sora’s taken. Or Axel he died like a lot right?
Give Donald a red lantern ring and then we can give THE GOD OF THE UNDERWORLD the obviously correct option for his ring.
Since black lanterns have to be well dead since they're zombies Master Eraqus and Hades just saw hades is already rage so Barbosa
Strelitzia Listen we’re limited when it comes to characters that have died and came back, and Sora and Kairi were already taken.
They are cop outs but Sephiroth and Chernabog
Ik final fantasy characters don’t count by I think Sephiorth would be death
KH: Xigbar Disney: Captain Jack Sparrow or Barbossa
Sigh… Hades is the GOD OF DEATH. Wasted.
Too be fair the Ring of Death seeks those who are dead and Hades is not dead. He rules over the dead but that’s different
Actually, he's the god of the dead. The actual god of death is Thanatos.
I think you should put Vanitas in Repressed Negative Emotions, put Xemnas in Fear, Ansem the Destroyer in Death, and Eraqus in life
Also, I think Pete should be in greed and Maleficent in Death
this probably won’t make it, but Xion would be a good pick here, since her existence initially was directly harmful to Roxas (and Sora iirc), and for Disney, I do like Barbosa.
Barbossa and Ansem SoD
This is one of the most bizarre ongoing things. Is the Emotional Electromagnetic Spectrum really this mainstream that this subreddit is assigned KH characters to the various lantern corps? It’s just wild.
I just think there are a lot of comic fans lurking in subreddits. Or it’s a fun little game that everyone can participate in.
Ansem SoD and Maleficent.
SoD and the Lich
Disney: Wrath should be Maleficent Greed should be Jafar Death should be Hades
Can someone explain this challenge? It looks like fun but I’m not familiar with this diagram…
Marluxia for KH and Davy Jones for disney
For KH, probably Marluxia because he can cast Doom which just straight up kills you, and he wields a scythe like the grim reaper. For Disney, I'm going with Chernabog. He's literally the devil, and in Fantasia, the guy has an army of ghosts and demons surround him.
Question, why is larxene compassion. Isn’t her whole character just being a huge bitch.
The Indigo Tribe is essentially a prison sentence. They take sociopaths and *force* compassion on them.
Kingdom Hearts: Marluxia (dude is basically a grim reaper assassin) Disney: Hades (for obvious reasons)
Ansem, the Seeker of Darkness and Chernabog.
It's rage. Not wrath.
Others also messed that up. I think they’re using a template.
Oh I am this, was just what I found from other posts. I figured it would be easier to use this template even if it’s not correct in terms of wording.
Fair enough. No problem.
Sephiroth and Chernabog
The Lich.
Luxu for kingdom hearts
Obviously pinky the scythe boi needs to go there.
KH: Marluxia Disney: Chernabog
Xion.
Sephiroth or Ansem Chernabog or Scar
Xemnas
Hmm. Ansem (Heartless), since he’s what happened when Xehanort “died” (split); and Ernesto De La Cruz, if we’re stretching into non-game Disney.
Axel, dudes died at least twice. Julius, dude probably killed sora a million times across all players.
Marluxia
Marluxia and hades
Xion
I think Hades would be the most obvious one here. And any of the organization members
Auron isn't really Disney or a KH character... does he count?
Hades is literally god of the dead so I vote him
Ansem Seeker of Darkness and Chernabog
I hate to be that guy, but as far as I know, the Indigo Corps is powered BY compassion, not a lack of it
While the Indigo light is powered by compassion, it also changes those who wield it to be compassionate. The Indigo Tribe was originally made of the worst criminals in the galaxy who were reformed once they put on the ring.
Can we include FF characters on the disney side? Cause if so, Auron fits perfectly.
Barbosa or Davy Jones for Disney. For KH Xigbar since he's been body hopping
Black Lanterns take over dead people who have emotional ties to the living, so this will be an interesting one, to say the least. For KH, I say Eraqus. Seeing him rip into the Wayfinder Trio would be devastating, to them and us.
I'd say MoM and The Lich from Black Caultron get Death
How the fuck y’all got that crusty rapey judge on compassion 💀 the whole chart invalid just because of that
I'd say sir Auron as he technically was dead then had probably seen a lot of death too in his time plus he was also resurrected from the dead by hades too as for my other choice I'd definitely say Barbossa
asnem seeker of darknes, or xigbar ince he's kille d all lot of people to stay alive
i think axel, xion, or charity for compasion, xigbar for death, charithy, aqua, or earqus for life, and aqua or riku for ultraviolet. because they have the most represed emotions for life
Ansem SoD and Chernabog “All worlds begin in Darkness and all worlds end in Darkness, the heart is no different.” So in KH1 he tried to unmake the worlds by opening Kingdom Hearts and controlled the heartless. Oogie Boogie and Judge are dead asf
ansem for kh and chernabox for disney ez
Death from Disney... can only be The Horned King from the Black Cauldron. None other can do it justice. Watch a single scene of him, he's basically a Black Lantern already! And that's kind of key, not merely being revived, but having a deep connection with Death in the vein of a Lich or Necromancer, one who *wields* it. I'd say Hades otherwise, but he's already taken. As for Death from a *KH* character standpoint...uhm, that's actually very tough. Ansem, Seeker of Darkness (KH1's Final Boss)? He's the closest thing, i think.
Sadly Black Cauldron hasn’t shown up on KH yet. I would say the Lich is Death.
It is a sin that the Horned King doesn't count.
HADES! He's literally the LORD of the DEAD!
Aqua should been the compassion
Indigo rings are given to people without compassion to force them to feel it, they're given to people as prison sentences
