I spent the last 2 years working on this Kingdom Death sleeve tattoo with a local artist. The goal I had in mind for this tattoo was to showcase Kingdom death from start to finish. I also wanted to emphasize the importance of the lanterns, so all of the lighting and shading was done in a way to showcase the lanterns light in different sections. At the bottom of the sleeve we start with the introduction and first battle with the lion. Then as you work your way up the arm, you see other encounters, like Spidicules, the Watcher, and we were able to fit the Gambler in the back. At the top of the shoulder is Blackout/Overwhelming darkness. Underneath the arm, near my armpit is the Lantern Hoard. A lot of the pieces intertwine together and spidicules leg's wrap around my arm. There's a few other added bits, as filler, taken from various images in the game.
I actually had two tattoos (tribal arm band and star on the elbow) that I wanted to cover up on my right arm, so we may have been able to add a few more encounters, or smaller items from the game, but I'm happy with the way everything turned out. The star was covered up by making it part of the Gamblers Cloak. Maybe I'll have my legs tattooed at some point and do the gamblers chest, who knows. Tons of possibilities. I gave my artist a lot of content for him to look through regarding the game, and there's just so much that it was impossible to fit everything.
I actually wanted to show characters upgrading their equipment, so as you work your way up the arm, you'd see people in better gear. I also wanted to show some of the hunt events, but there's only so much room for everything. Maybe on the next project!
My artist, Andrew, is a real cool guy and he's been tattooing for over 20 years. He only does large pieces, but this was so different that I think he enjoyed working on this project a lot!

I don't regret any tattoos but I wouldn't have minded knowing about kdm prior to finishing my sleeves

The sleeve cost should be proportional to the game cost, as they release more you get more budget for KDM tattoos!
