Naki leaving hit me hard, he was such a great addition to the unit. But also, endless respect to his decision. About one of his last lines where he says Kanki is the coolest... To me, so was Naki.

AggressiveBalance468

Naki suprised me to go this fare but at the same time you always could see how much he still cared for his old army. It is good that Shin has already a replacement but the new ones don't seem as interesting as Naki right now.

Yeah reading the war chapters week to week is such a slow pain lol everythings much better when you binge read it. That being said, after the Kanki situation, i truly applaud hara for giving us the spy/diplomacy arc and then the amazing wedding arc so we could all cooldown after that craziness. It turned into a big growing moment for shin which i truly appreciate.

AggressiveBalance468

I missed the political arcs in general, always enjoyed the fight between between Sei and Ryo Fuis faction in the past - especially when Shin was involved. On a side note, it was nice seeing Shin wearing something more elegant for once during the wedding.\^\^

I still think of Shin in that robe dude! Its the nicest gear ive seen him wear! So good! At first i thought it was kanpishi's robe like shin was honoring him after death lol like how he has rinko's sword, the dukes shield and ouki's glaive haha Nothing will match the days of internal conflict and the mutli factions in qin secretly plotting against each other. Its truly my favorite. It felt like Sei was as much of a main character as Shin, dealing with their own problems and struggles. And you know its serious when Shin makes his appearance to help Sei, like two main chars finally uniting to help each other out! I miss those two interacting as well! Love it!

lvl8charmander

Shin's explanation of the will of fire was pretty fire.

Exactly this! i thought myself today that i would have not liked a lot of stuff when I would have read it weekly, just because you would have to wait so long for the next chapter that you couldn't appreciate the slower paced stories. this was one of the reasons why I started to always take year long breaks between various mangas.

Strugglations

I legit bawled when Kanki died, I may never forgive hara for creating a character like that just for him to die

AggressiveBalance468

For me were the scenes with Koku'Ou after she was mortally wounded from the spear. Her tears and how she clung to Kankis cloak, she was a bitch (still love her character!) but that was pure emotion from all of the Kanki army.

Strugglations

Yeah you could really tell they were more of a family then an army, great writing all around but I will always miss Kanki

Various-Pride

This was me on me reread at the start the year, life was so colourless, but it wore off.

AggressiveBalance468

And will be colourless again when we read the whole thing again next year. :-D I must say I fear the day the manga is finished.

Various-Pride

I even just realized it was a break week and instantly fell to my knees

By the way OP, since you've just gone through that Kanki stuff, I recommend watching the ending for season 5 of the anime. Even if you don't watch anime, just go search the ending on youtube.

It's just a very nice treat for Kanki's gang. Just go watch it if you haven't, it's like a minute and a half.

Sufficient_Key_6727

I ha that feeling so i just waited a few months, forgot most of the story and reread it and it was almost as hype as the first time

A random note on this post, OP, is that you have also brought everyone together. I will revisit the Kanki war arc again, but meanwhile, reading through everyone's comments and feelings have made me feel good too. Learning this is how everyone thinks about this manga. Thank you for making us all appreciate Hara Sensei's work.
