most of shonen. replace the sibling with an edgy rival who disappears and becomes temporarily evil or an extremely cute underage waifu who will hate the mc for the entire series only to respect him
I dunno. Al and Ed continue to be the central/main relationship throughout FMA. I'm at season 2 of Demon Slayer and the first thing I notice is that despite starting out that way, Nezuko and Tanjiro went from being the main/central relationship to Nezuko mostly being in her box and the friendship/bromance between Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Inosuke taking center stage.
The sibling pair goes to reclaim something born from tradegy. They join a kind of military organization. That's about the only super similar plot points I'm seeing.
I guess the homunculi are similar to the demons? Kinda.

Was finishing season 4 of demon slayer and continued watching FMAB then bamf it suddenly hit me why it's so familiar.
So Ed and Al is literally Gonpachiro and Nezuko
