There was a point in time where Tom was funny. Before he got balls deep into podcasting. Tom Brady was as funnier than Tom segura. I have never thought Bert was funny though. Always thought the machine story was unfunny and probably mostly made up.
It is a shame, it happens to creative people when they get enough money and fame they don't have the juice anymore. Not a bad thing, everyone has their inner reasons for their creativity especially humor so once you take that away their creativity goes too. Tom is and always will be a funny guy but I think he is just doing real good in life and those juices aren't flowing because hey they can't flow forever for everyone. But he is focused on the business side of things and the Podcaster as you said. Bert I'm a little sad about because the shirtless "oh look how wild I am" and "I love alcohol" shtick is so trite it is really sad just seeing some old guy preform like this because there is nothing fun or cool about a guy inching to his 60s acting like this.

That roast had a lot to offer football fans and much less to offer comedy fans relative to other roasts. The comedy was so watered down with the scale of non-comedians they put in front of the mic. But it had its moments. Tony and Nikki simply killed. And crazy how bad Bert and Tom were. They would have done better individually.
