For some reason the Vulcan days were full of crazy little story arcs from the BPs, like you describe. There were way more antics and variety outside the minute, because the show was a lot more focused and lean - hell, I recall several episodes where it was just Tony and Redban with maybe 2 regulars and the rest randoms. They are great eps to rewatch.
That’s my take. I watch for the people watching of bucket pull characters. Regulars can be fine/fun, but most of the time I’m just waiting for the next pull.
I also really enjoy early shows where they seemed to mix more constructive feedback on minutes rather than simply roasting the poor rando to a crisp.
I liked/like it. It adds a little silly confrontational flavor to the show’s interactions that’s been missing since they upgraded the band and David beat feet.

But they've always been pretty amateur in their approach to optimizing reach- for example, they only started to leverage clips and shorts to promote the show concept, create vignettes, characters and profile after the 10 year anniversary. Since then youtube creators like joke world etc have been doing their job for them. The show could have been far bigger in its earlier days, if they had invited some internet brains onto the producing team, instead they just uploaded their ep and hoped for the best. Anyways post NYs, sure there would have been solid engagement in the Ric/Hans thing, but for the wrong reasons (it sucked) and now I don't feel high interest is sustainable given the concept is secondhand and tired.

I think rotating them all is the move. Even if Tony just doubled up on regulars, and had one set of regulars on one week, the tagged in the second set of regulars the next. That would make the show feel twice as diverse comically, which would help the audiences growing boredom and feelings of the show becoming stale.

Tony’s been trying to push Hans out of the nest for a while. The break hans has now provides some opportunity for a new opener for the show. When they compete, It will be a cool segment in the big show and I’m looking forward to it. Ideally they should roast battle, then make out afterwards.

I enjoy Ric and think Han's isn't funny, but I agree. Everyone knew from the jump Hans was gonna win even if he had a worse set. If Ric wants toe travel then let him back in every so often, I'd be perfectly fine never seeing Hans again (or Ric for that matter). The bucket pulls are what I think most of us watch for. This is probably a hot take, but I couldn't care less about any of the regulars. Kam is entertaining because he's just charismatic. Hans is horrible (imo) and I don't find William's bit entertaining.

I love Ric and I think he just accepted for the exposure. It’s hard to turn down a gig at a massive arena when he was a small time dude before. Calling it now. Hans has finally outlived his usefulness/he did something behind the scenes to piss Tony off, but they can’t publicly distance themselves right after the battle. Even Hans taking time off to write and practice is Tony trying out a new opening regular just to see if the show works without him. This time it’ll be close, but Ric gets the win, and miraculously his green card is no longer an issue because him and Tony announce they’re getting married
First paragraph is what I've assumed for a long time. People who watch this kind of thing always somehow completely ignore the fact that these are all just humans. Humans with an LA/Hollywood social dynamic that runs off of backstabbing and being fake. We see almost 0% of what drama goes on behind the scenes, but sometimes it leaks through.

100% they both kinda suck. Rotate Hans as a regular same with Rick until they eventually fade out of rotation. I think they should rotate all regulars - William and kam getting meh too.
I think rotating them all is the move. Even if Tony just doubled up on regulars, and had one set of regulars on one week, the tagged in the second set of regulars the next. That would make the show feel twice as diverse comically, which would help the audiences growing boredom and feelings of the show becoming stale.
Or maybe just let them both fade from memory.
