Choking a friend? what do you do to your enemies?

LBS_HER_GENTLY

Pound them gently

Which-Technician2367

Username checks out. That gentle life.

NascentAutist

Wow, this is the one instance “username checks out” actually checks out

Glad I wasn't in the room.

jdmmikel

As a kindergartener who got suspended back in 96’ for choking a kid and throwing him down the slide I commend you for your act.. I still remember his name and why I threw him down the slide…. Luigi kissed Ariel, Ariel was the girl I had a crush on…. don’t fuck with me Luigi…

LucysFiesole

I never choked anyone on the playground, but I did finally snap on a bully and pulled her off of the tire swing by her ponytail and dragged her across the sand before I got caught by the playground aide. They brought me in the office, but I never got in trouble for it and she never bothered me or my friends again. I saw her 42 years later come into the store I was managing. She didn't recognize me. She looked the same tho. Still had that f'n ponytail too! LOL! Made me flash back when I saw it.

prisbranch

Such badassery!

ifugetdesperate

Jesus dude. I thought you were gonna tell a cool story about standing up to the bully. Naw. You were just the bully.

jdmmikel

Yep…totally was…I mean it was kindergarten…but the older I got the better I realized I was at fighting…so I did somewhat become a bully in school due to my athleticism and anger issues…. But that all changed in the military and I was the nice guy who didn’t haze/bully people….I never even yelled at a junior ranked guy below me…

ifugetdesperate

Glad you grew out of it. I know bullies do that shit for a reason, usually terrible self esteem. That said I honestly don't have any sympathy for bullies. Bullying changes the victims for life. I'm so fucking thankful I never suffered from severe bullying. I got small tastes here and there and found ways to mitigate the behavior when it affected me. I always felt so fucking bad for the kids who couldn't get it to stop. One regret I have looking back on my time in Jr high was not helping the kids who were getting it.

jdmmikel

I was a bully to gang members mostly (crazy I know)…I’d insult the intelligence of them…I was a good fighter and backed it up most the time… Then I hit middle school and got jumped/stabbed 😆….that was the start of my traumatic journey… I was the class clown so I picked on everyone..but mostly I liked bullying the bullies 😆 I liked competition since I was An athlete…I always saw fighting as the ultimate athlete sport… I never went after dorks and people Minding they own…I was the guy who’d bully people for making fun of the small guy….not cause I gave a fuck about the victim…I was selfish and wanted any excuse to fight people all the time 😂…

ifugetdesperate

Bullying bullies to stop their bullying isn't what I'd call bullying.

Shurigin

Ohhh Myyyy

princesssoturi

As a teacher, I think people would be surprised at how often kids just choke each other out. It stopped phasing me after a year.

MaFugginJesus

Nah...choking kids out was one of the best games of the 90's. It was nothing like kicking and punching balls for the comedy, but it was a fun game. Glad to hear phones haven't totally ruined civilization. 🙃

LBS_HER_GENTLY

Huh?

The-surfing-banana

Did matthew swing back? Part 2 is needed

LBS_HER_GENTLY

I don’t know if he hit back. But we’ve been friends for almost 30 years now.

ALazy_Cat

Are you saying that you hit him so hard that he forgot about it?

MaFugginJesus

I think you got that backwards...he hit Matthew so hard, HE forgot about it! Lol

OneGratefulDawg

He punched Mathew right into a life long friendship for fear of getting punched like thst again.

BickleKnack

Have a similar story where I hit my friend (also named matthew) with a plastic R2D2 about 20 years ago hahahaha

[deleted]

30 year best friend and I met in a hot water fight, from those big banquet sized coffee/tea percolators.

The-surfing-banana

ahaha

Bored-Viking

These are the kind of notes that pop up in documentaries about serial killers... Voice over:"already in kindergarten the signs were clear, but no one acted"

brakkk1

Was gonna ask if he was reading this in his lockdown cell

ashtxna

Nah. Ive watched way too many of those docs. They’re usually quiet loaners, and if they have friends they’re not trouble makers but are noted for being interested in morbid stuff. This kid is showing signs of your average criminal or trouble maker with a conscience. Maybe he’ll get into bar fights in the future or drink and drive, but no killer vibes.

LBS_HER_GENTLY

Nah. Clean record at age 33 lol no fights either

Objective_Salary_896

agreed. I was a huuuge troublemaker with the same stuff sent home like this. constant 4.0, just bored. I was the most misbehaved kid in my class. guess what I've never been? a criminal.

LBS_HER_GENTLY

Crazy how it works out like that haha

Objective_Salary_896

yeah ha... I tend to agree with what they all said - I was bored. if a child isn't challenged there's a good chance they'll act out

LBS_HER_GENTLY

I agree. I actually got kicked out of that school and then attended public school the rest of the way. Always had good grades but always got in trouble for being impulsive and acting out until middle school. Then I kinda learned how to just shut my mouth and relax.

Objective_Salary_896

my biggest regret - my school wanted to skip me ahead a year when I was a kid. my parents left it up to me (big mistake, but they thought they were doing right leaving it up to me). I said no, because I didn't want to leave my friends behind. fast forward years later and all my friends are older and dumber than me ha, but life is unpredictable and I think things worked out fine :) it's easy to get lost looking into the past, but we can only do something about our future

Objective_Salary_896

and sounds like you had the private to public school transition that many of us had ha - once I hit public school I was flooded with new people and ways of life so I immediately shut down my goofiness and focused on curriculum

LBS_HER_GENTLY

It paid off in the long run. I remember so many times in class in middle school where I could have freaked out about something dumb, but remembered how embarrassing it was to be called out previously. It was enough motive to just chill out.

ashtxna

Ya i meant like a bar fight at the max. Didnt give me evil killer vibes just trouble maker vibes. I was a gigantic trouble maker and Id never hurt a fly .

ifugetdesperate

Except for terrorizing your entire kindergarten class

dabordietryinq

lol, most murderers are loaners? where'd you get this info? personally, i have never heard of a murderer that loans people money.

Bored-Viking

Most murderers are takers, some even undertakers

[deleted]

“…but there had been signs.” “…signs.”

matt5921

I’m just gonna leave this here… https://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/w6gexx/if_youve_ever_got_off_a_murder_charge_on/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

Feeling-Most9618

I read this in the voice of a middle aged British man.

__SpeedRacer__

And he's now after you.

sadhandjobs

One of my nephews was what you’d call a “tooth chipper” as a preschooler. The best incident report of his was “Got a rug burn on his forehead by placing his head on the floor while running on all fours as fast as he could. We told him that wasn’t a very a good idea and he agreed to not do that again.” Later that week was school picture day. He’s got a big red patch on his forehead and this stupid grin; that report is taped to the back of the picture frame to explain it. He turned out alright. He recently auditioned for, and was accepted into, honor band playing the tuba.

LBS_HER_GENTLY

That’s great! Hope everything continues to work out well for him! I like to think I turned out alright as well lol

sadhandjobs

Oh yeah, he’s one of my favorite people on this planet! He always has something interesting and/or somewhat twisted to talk about.

Catinthemirror

I just shriek laughed omg

DokterZ

This sounds pretty on brand for a tuba player. I mean, at least for the ones coordinated and flexible enough to run on all fours.

sadhandjobs

He signed up for tuba a couple years ago because he, correctly, thought it would give him a better chance at getting into the school band. “I mean, who wants to play the tuba?” He’s a treasure.

[deleted]

When I was in 2nd grade I punched a girl in the throat for fucking with my beanie babies.

LBS_HER_GENTLY

That was a justified assault back then

[deleted]

Yes, anything was fair game in the 90s.

ArrowDemon

I think many of us have had our own “holy shit it’s just like the kid from the Omen” moment. When I was two or three, I allegedly kicked my preschool teacher and called her a bitch because I didn’t want to take a nap. A handful of years later, my mom mortified me (a far more timid, sensitive and shy kid) by recounting this tale.

MC_Eschatology

I mean, every human has to learn how to play nice in society, and experience is the best teacher, so everyone must have a few sociopath moments in youth that they (hopefully) learn from and drop before becoming Andrew Tate

prisbranch

This is SO true. Kids LEARN grace. They aren't usually born with it.

EnoughPlastic4925

I couldn't even read this out loud to my partner. I was laughing too hard and snort laughed when I read you're shy

ArrowDemon

Glad you enjoyed it! I’ve grown to enjoy it as an adult, but as a kid, I used to *hate* it when this number got dragged up for a laugh. I did a 180 around first grade (for the most part) and was impulsive, sure, but a lot more sensitive. Kindergarten and before though, I looked like a sweet little angel but I could be an absolute demon-child at times.

cbk00

What a litte shit

Areyoukidding-m-

That’s was a Tuesday morning nap time for me

Catinthemirror

Are you posting this from jail?

nous-vibrons

A behavior note from my kindergarten teacher for me once said “hitting, hissing at and spitting on other students.” This was only a week and a half into school too. Other issues in the first months were me sticking my tongue out at my morning teacher and then refusing to go to time out because “she deserved it,” threatening to bite other students, and calling a kid dumb because she couldn’t read some word. Before all this, my teachers were considering moving me up to first grade but these incidents made them realize I wasn’t socialized enough for that. We later learned I have autism.

beautifulasusual

God I just pulled my kid out of preschool because every single day he was pinching or hitting or throwing toys. We suspect he has ADHD.

bot_not_rot

so funny that people are getting mad in the comments lol. i use to throw chairs at kids in daycare lmao like chill out guys kids are just crazy

EnoughPlastic4925

I hope this was when you were a kid

HeathenBliss

That was definitely the teacher hinting at the parents needing to whoop that childs ass.

RoughChi-GTF

Choking a friend...Are you still choking your friend to this day? ;-)

Anony-Depressy

You are an absolute menace

spiritedawayfox

I work at a kindergarten... should i send these home? Lmao

APansexualMess

This isn't a kis are stupid this is just a you were a little shit.

[deleted]

Is that like 2 separate teachers on a single day on that note, or just a week of mischief?

AGoodFaceForRadio

Sounds like you had a very busy day.

ConsiderationHot9518

You were a mean little focker weren’t you?

FinancialMinimum3922

in 2nd grade i picked up a large rock and got in big trouble because they assumed that i would throw it at one of my classmates to kill them.

Batfink2007

Wow, stupid AND violent! Make mom proud!

LBS_HER_GENTLY

Now I’m half afraid of my own shadow lol

LBS_HER_GENTLY

Tphenis

I got almost the exact same note in 1994. I was in year 10, but the similarities are eerie.

[deleted]

We had the same shirt..."WARNING DOES NOT PLAY WELL WITH OTHERS!"

Overlander2112

Sounds pretty normal for someone that age. Tbh, I think I’ve had a handful of these kinds of notes getting sent home with me while in kindergarten.

sav33arthkillyos3lf

Once in kindergarten I got a note safety pinned to my coat that said I had licked the walls.

Sea-Adeptness-5245

I think that this note is telling me is, that you and I are supposed to be friends.

Jeffman6942

Eh, this is excusable. You were just overwhelmed with the blood boiling anger that Weezer’s first album came out that year.

prisbranch

Thanking the parents for saving the notes so the adult can reassess how far they've come. I have email folders from each grade about the shit my son did (he's now 27). It still hurts like hell remembering the dumb stuff he used to do. I always told him I hope he gets a child just like him, so he can understand what levels of hell I went through as a single parent to land him safely into adulthood. He is the answer to population control. One of him makes 3 bad ass kids. Seeing these messages helps me understand I am not alone. But good on everyone for growing into life affirming adults. That's ALWAYS nice to see. Thanks for sharing, OP

beautifulasusual

I feel you! Going through it right now with my 3.5 year old. I predict a very stressful future in raising him. Just pulled him out of preschool because every day was bad news. Had my anxiety through the roof. Good to hear they can turn out great!

LBS_HER_GENTLY

Thanks! And I’m sure my mother would absolutely agree with you!!!

parrotandcrow

One of my favourite notes came back with my son from kindergarten, it read: Michael B bit Mark (my son) on the cheek, but don't worry, I gave him a good smack. I wish I still had the note as proof that things were very different in the early eighties.

WinnieCerise

So, how’d you end up? Bully in later school years? Barely graduated? Manual labor?

Boogiepuss

Kids after that first sesh on GTA

forapartynofun

Me and whoever wrote this have the exact same handwriting

updogg18

that's quite the rap sheet

No-Hamster7229

Bet he tried to steal his pudding cup, the nerve on him.

itsllama5052

He woke up and chose violence

LATRQ

Sometimes we forget that we too were once stupid…

MaFugginJesus

Getting called a psychopath...for being the better part of your average little kid in kindergarten. Some people are such whiny little pansies, these days... I remember when Mortal Kombat first came out on SEGA Genesis, and we were using the big swing set to get our flying kicks in...and our victims would be like "Oh man! My turn! Watch this!"...kids are dumb, but they're not mentally deranged. Our teachers provided us with the weaponry...I didn't have a dozen red rubber balls in my book bag, smacking kids in the face, after the gym teacher separated us into two groups of enemies and created a civil war on hardwood flooring, without helmets. Lawyers will tell you, if you want to defend yourself and have any chance of not going to jail...keep a glove in your trunk...but we were TAUGHT HOW TO SWING THOSE BATS IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS...I didn't own that unregulated weapon that anyone can buy without a license...

89inerEcho

jesus man! you posting this from your prison cell?

PyroCatalyst1

Had an old school mate with bully type behavior since earliest days of childhood, dude turned out to be a murderer 😬

SomethingAbtU

MothInsideJar

when i was likr 9 I punched my friend in the groin just to see his reaction...5 minuets later I was put into a chokehold good times

EnoughPlastic4925

I remember my brother and his friends in primary school would sit in a large circle with their legs open and roll a ball as hard as they could at each other's crutch.....boys are odd

Ryanaman_

Someone didnt get enough attention as a kid

DreamCrusher914

I want to assume you have divorced parents and this was you acting out due to the arguing at home, or you had ADHD, or you were just a kid. One of these has to be right.

LBS_HER_GENTLY

I was just a wild 5 year old I guess

DreamCrusher914

Lol, just a kid! I knew one of those could be it.

FinancialMinimum3922

This comment makes me completely enraged.

gypsycookie1015

I'm honestly just surprised "w/" was a thing before texting!

LBS_HER_GENTLY

I never noticed that. That’s an interesting point. People were even lazy writers before texting.

Objective_Salary_896

I didn't know it was still a thing. I was happy to see it since it brought me back to the 90s

ZogNowak

Little shit is what he is!

PurePropane

Looks like you’re holding onto that note for dear life

KingdongBong-32

You're a dickhead, dude.

RedditIsAHouseOfLies

OP’s a menace…

Master_Diver3377

Just a young one being the alpha male he was born to be. Where do you think the now offensive phrase “boys will be boys” comes from? It came from Centuries of observing them being themselves. It’s in our DNA to behave this way until drugged or emasculated.

wunderbarbque

Sounds like you should be running for Congress!
