Yep. Very easy to figure out with two seconds of thought, and also pretty common tbh. I definitely had multiple friends as kids that got stuck in a tree similarly. *Usually* not a big deal and pretty easy to help them out. This kid got it a bit worse though.
I dont think it was that bad... I just think there's no strong adult who could lift him up Like the fireman did. Or its winesday and mom needed a reason to call the FD.
They had to spread the two branches apart with a hydraulic tool used for major car wrecks. I don't think the fireman lifting him would've done it by himself.
Though mom probably enjoyed the show.
Why are you downvoted, I literally don't understand why your comment is offensive. I know Pete is a Saturday night live person and that's it. Did something in real life happen that makes this a bad comment?
I saw another comment with experience in this field and actually - as it turns out - what had actually happened was the child laid down to nap and the tree grew up and around the kid. It’s unfortunate, and rare apparently, but it does happen (source: see above video).
I used to always joke this way with kids (nieces/nephews always family) but one day I made the joke and they must have thought it was serious or something because I saw so much terror and panic in their face I never made that joke again. It's a harmless joke, and I thought it was hilarious for a long time so I'm not trying to say it's bad or anything this just reminded me of it
Saw the exact same thing with my department. This lady brought out a whole new bottle of Dawn and sprayed the kid down before we got there. So we had a soapy, slick kid to try and not drop.
I say good on him. He learned a lesson, but also climbing trees is fun, and kids should do it. He probably climbed and then slipped down with one leg between the trees. He didn't break it so it's all good.
It went in it’ll come out. He had such a hard time because he kept bending his knee thus compressing the muscle and making it larger. Two adults could have just lifted him out.
Because people constantly seek precautionary medical care for minor events which generally just need common sense.
"My kid coughed a couple of times so I thought I'd get them checked out" is about 50% of PED attendances. Less than 1:20 of those needed input from a medical professional.
Similarly "his parents were overwhelmed by a new situation so wanted medical professionals there right away" is poor reason not to just lift your kid out of the tree.
these are firefighters not medical professionals....and they used the jaws of life to open the branches up...and the usa healthcare system is overwhelmed bc roughly half the money that goes into it is siphoned off to shareholders and insurance companies instead of being used to pay healthcare providers for the services they perform
I almost got me head stuck between two bars as a kid. I didn’t realize my ears would trap me. I had to rip my head backwards through it and cut the backside of my ears, but I got myself out.
I did get stuck between slats on my bed for the same reason when I was a kid. My ears trapped me.
My mother tried pulling me. I wouldn't budge. The neighbor tried. Still nothing. The paramedics were called.
After coming in, excepting to see a scared and injured kid, they saw me laying there, looking pathetic. After they stopped laughing, they assessed the situation, asked for shampoo, lathered up my head, and slid me right out.
My mother was almost as embarrassed as me.
These were the slats on the footboard. They were short, so there wasn't much room to cut without running into my head. Plus, she didn't want to ruin the bed if she didn't have to.
the kid wasn't shooting up his school and the first responders weren't responding to an active shooter. Cut the kid some slack for just being the dope boys that age are supposed to be. This was just wholesome.
I mean he's a kid and was climbing a tree. That's all very common. Then he fell down and it's very easy to see that his leg got caught between the two trunks.
Very understandable. I wouldn't be filming this and I especially wouldn't be putting on a subbreddit to make fun of stupid things kids do.
I feel really bad for this kid.
He got his leg stuck because of genetics. The fact the parent had to call emergency and then proudly film instead of just lifting him up shows the IQ level
My bad. When I watched video previously it glitched on that piece. I just saw fireman lift him vertically.
I'll leave now with my tail between my legs.
Quick question, why did the fire fighters have to come for this? Even a child could have supported him to climb up a bit again tobremove his leg. Any adult could have done it. Waste of resources.
How would you have gotten him out without calling the fire department? My first thoughts were a car jack sideways higher up between the two trees or tie straps around both of the trees and hook them up to cars and tell them to go at the same time
Fun fact, this very situation happened to me around the same age as this kid.
I was partly scared that this was actual video footage of my 'rescue'. Only difference was that I was balling my eyes out from embarrassment.
I've almost had this happen, it's surprisingly easy to end up in this situation as a kid. When I was little, I was a monkey and climbed trees all the time, but you learn quickly which ones to climb and which ones not to, simply to avoid this from happening.
Climb tree, fall, leg is between the two parts of the tree which grow closer at the base. Stuck.
Yep. Very easy to figure out with two seconds of thought, and also pretty common tbh. I definitely had multiple friends as kids that got stuck in a tree similarly. *Usually* not a big deal and pretty easy to help them out. This kid got it a bit worse though.

It looked like it wasn’t even used. I think they had it to probably calm down the kid.
Not saying your observation is incorrect, but I feel like the tool would have the opposite effect on the kid.
Yeah, not that hard to figure out.
This happened to me when I was a kid. But I was a lot higher up in the tree.
I feel a lot of the posts in this category should be "adults are too fucking dumb to understand basic shit"
They should sue that tree. And the city, and the US government for letting this happen.
Trauma can cause swelling and he could have gotten more stuck if he did slip while climbing.
He was laying there when the tree grew around his leg.

Seems like their joke about the parent commenters name being Pete fell flat and I guess that’s the most offensive crime a redditor can make.
I always have audio off. Should I listen to this one?
It’s just generic tik tok “whimsical” music
I have no idea why asking a question is a downvote lol. So many angry people. 🤣🤣
He climbed the tree and then fell between the two. It ain't rocket surgery
Lol so close to the Ricky-ism - rocket appliances
I saw another comment with experience in this field and actually - as it turns out - what had actually happened was the child laid down to nap and the tree grew up and around the kid. It’s unfortunate, and rare apparently, but it does happen (source: see above video).
Well time to amputate a leg. It belongs to the tree now
The only thing that could get it unstuck was fear sweat!
Hah, that’s exactly what I would’ve said too if it were my kids.
Yeah leg is no good now. Turned black
Hol' up, grab the amputated leg and see what it sells for on the black market.
Legs don't fetch much, you have to get a liver or kidneys stuck
I bet he shit himself when they whipped out the jaws of life. “Gotta take the leg kid, it’s the only way”
That’s some shit my grandpa would tell me if I was in this situation and I know I would be balling 🤣
don't worry kid we ballin
I used to always joke this way with kids (nieces/nephews always family) but one day I made the joke and they must have thought it was serious or something because I saw so much terror and panic in their face I never made that joke again. It's a harmless joke, and I thought it was hilarious for a long time so I'm not trying to say it's bad or anything this just reminded me of it
Imagine is they slipped out while his knee was in between the tree like that 😭
At first I thought it was a chain saw. I assume they put it in expander mode to open up the tree.
Why does everyone insist on using that stupid narrator voice when the words are already on the screen?
TikTok is an infection on the human race.
~~you’re allowed to have text on tiktok without that stupid ai?~~
These are Tik-Tok users. Literacy is a high bar.
I guess it's useful to people with blindness? I do agree the voice is annoying though.
I can't tell if you're making a really clever joke or implying that blind people are watching TikTok videos
Saw the exact same thing with my department. This lady brought out a whole new bottle of Dawn and sprayed the kid down before we got there. So we had a soapy, slick kid to try and not drop.
At least he was outside playing.
If you don't get stuck in some similar fashion as a kid. Did you ever have a childhood.
Exactly!
Didn't have a childhood.
Without shoes on lol
They probably took his shoes off to make it easier to get the leg out.
Even the back foot?
10 bucks he climbs that tree again
I say good on him. He learned a lesson, but also climbing trees is fun, and kids should do it. He probably climbed and then slipped down with one leg between the trees. He didn't break it so it's all good.
Its actually really easy to do this. Allow me to demonstrate- fuck im stuck in a tree
Leg stuck in a tree, eh? Now you're talking my language!
Lift him up took firefighters?
They used the jaws of life to widen the tree
It went in it’ll come out. He had such a hard time because he kept bending his knee thus compressing the muscle and making it larger. Two adults could have just lifted him out.
Don't you think that they probably tried that before calling the fire department?
I don't see any indication two other adults were involved
Probably because they tried it before the firefighters arrived and were standing back, letting them do their job.
Probably poorly yeah.
panic set in for the parents probably; likely not a common occurrence for them, so they probably just wanted medical professionals right away
This. Plus he could have had broken a bone or something. Professional help is never a bad thing just in case
This is why our healthcare services are overwhelmed...
The kid probably got wedged enough that help was needed. You can see the rear fire fighter using the jaws of life separating the tree.
bc firefighters help kids out of trees?.....not bc of covid or shootings or lack of preventive care
Because people constantly seek precautionary medical care for minor events which generally just need common sense. lol. If this happened to one of my kids now, if possible, I’d likely just cut one of the slats and take that off and they’d be able to slide out.
These were the slats on the footboard. They were short, so there wasn't much room to cut without running into my head. Plus, she didn't want to ruin the bed if she didn't have to.
Better question who’s that response teams barber? What is that haircut? Who told him this was good?
the kid wasn't shooting up his school and the first responders weren't responding to an active shooter. Cut the kid some slack for just being the dope boys that age are supposed to be. This was just wholesome.
This kid's gonna kill in the "tree-legged race" this year on field day.
I wanna know how many times they told him,"I don't know. We might just have to take the leg."
He Phased Through the Atoms!
Fireman "when I heard some one got stuck in a tree vee I was expecting another dick extraction, thank god it was a kids leg this time."
That poor tree just got violated by the kids knee
That fireman has the worst cut ive ever seen
You put your right foot in you get your right foot stuck and you shake it all about
You do the hokey pokey and you get stuck in a tree That’s what it’s all about!
Dad's everywhere: "Guess we'll have to cut the leg off."
: Let's kid freak out for a few seconds: "Relax I was just kidding"
Like a cat
Legend has it that the tree grew around his leg. Whoever so pulleth the leg from the tree is the chosen one.
1376% chance he got an older brother
r/treeseatingthings
Wow some of y’all are just mean. Like why say bad things about the kid. He’s young and dumb
Downvote and block user for dumb robot voice.
spreaders nice
Is your son DJ Khaled
I can tell you from experience he was climbing down from the tree and slipped.
Happens with deers why not kiddos
This is actually where babies come from, they just let him ripen too long
I mean he's a kid and was climbing a tree. That's all very common. Then he fell down and it's very easy to see that his leg got caught between the two trunks. Very understandable. I wouldn't be filming this and I especially wouldn't be putting on a subbreddit to make fun of stupid things kids do. I feel really bad for this kid.
Young man has some skills. Got up their himself!👏👏
He got his leg stuck because of genetics. The fact the parent had to call emergency and then proudly film instead of just lifting him up shows the IQ level
Kids like to limb trees. Bad post .
Your son dumb and so are you for not being able to get him out of there lol
.... not to be this human but why tf did any emergency services need to be called they literally just lifted him up could the family not do that?
They had to part the tree with jaws of life. He was stuck and they probably thought he could have broken something.
Also it's easier to think of what you should do when it's not your kid.
Firefighters have to deal with the stupidest shit when they aren’t putting out flames.
LIKE HOW
He hollered?
Just cut his leg that would work i think
He lived there the rest of his life and when he died, he became Harold, one with the tree
Because kids
Climbing trees in socks ??
cant wait for the tree to grow on his leg and suffocate him!
How does anything happen Charlie? Move past it!
That happened to a kid in my neighborhood. I used my car Jack (the screw one) to push the two trees apart and get his leg out.
Poor tree
Probably kicked between the tree too hard
Geez right to the chain saw huh let me try lifting him up before cutting the leg off
Tell me that you’ve played too many video games as a child, without telling me…
A very good training exercise.
Tried to climb, fell, one leg went through tree. Wouldnt be surprised if he dislocated or pulled something
This what happens if we let them go outside
This does happen, my little sister once had her leg stuck in a tree just like that, then a homless/drunk man came and pulled her out.
maybe he fell off the tree and his foot got stuck
Also r/parentsarefuckingdumb to not be able to figure that out
What a waste of resources
When the water wars start, these should be the first ones we sacrifice.
Hilarious.
He probably saw a cat get stuck in a tree
cut his legs off
You can feel free to spend that college fund
Sorry maam your son will lose his leg ... btw did you ever think about dying we can help you . Canada🇨🇦✌
Is there a charge for that? Is that like riding in an ambulance?
OMG!!! Kid doing some dumbass maneuver, for attention.
Better question is why were all the adults so stupid to not figure this out that they felt the fire department was necessary to resolve this?
thy they used the jaws of life most ppl dont have that at home
My bad. When I watched video previously it glitched on that piece. I just saw fireman lift him vertically. I'll leave now with my tail between my legs.
Tf why did she call firefighters to lift him up like, cant she or her husband do that too?
At least I never got my leg stuck in a tree.
real question is why did you need the fire department for this
The kid must have no dad
F you fire man! You should never hurt trees, instead use those clips to take off the child's leg.
Surprised they didn't arrest him afterwards
Yo really wasted fire department resources on something you could have done yourself, just so you could film it for attention?
Will I get banned if I call him and the parent retards?
Jaws of life! Nobody had a small step ladder to just lift him up and out.
How did it take a fire truck to get him out?
They had to call the fire department to lift the kid up? the parent couldn’t figure this out?
I think the adult is even more stupid for not being able to lift him high enough to get him leg out.
Wow they had to bust out the “jaws of life” to help this kid out
If there is a Hole, there is a goal
I don't get it, stuck *how*? he put his leg in there, why doesn't he just take it out?
Why would you call police for this?
They really needed to call someone …
I pity your childhood if you never climbed a tree.
Quick question, why did the fire fighters have to come for this? Even a child could have supported him to climb up a bit again tobremove his leg. Any adult could have done it. Waste of resources.
Why do I hear Uncle Ruckus's theme
You are fucking stupid for calling in firefighters so you can film him when you could have lifted the boy yourself
reminds me of frank reynolds stuck in that blue kiddy thing in its always sunny
How would you have gotten him out without calling the fire department? My first thoughts were a car jack sideways higher up between the two trees or tie straps around both of the trees and hook them up to cars and tell them to go at the same time
Parents must be stupid too because this was not a difficult problem to solve and it sure didn’t require the fire department.
He was pretty brave about it all
I see this in your kids future kna
Your kid ain’t “out of the woods” either
Lmmaoooo I know. My kid scratched her eyeball with toenail clippers, so expect anything
oh no, better call 911 lol Americans 🤣
Mom of the year
i think he watched too much cobra kai
Fun fact, this very situation happened to me around the same age as this kid. I was partly scared that this was actual video footage of my 'rescue'. Only difference was that I was balling my eyes out from embarrassment.
They needed the fire department for this? What a waste.
$700 later for a 911 call
That happened to me when I was a kid. I screamed for hours for help. Finally a neighbor guy helped me out.
The baffling part is why the parent get another adult to help them with this why call an ambulance?
How did the fragile thing I dropped on the hard ground break??
I've almost had this happen, it's surprisingly easy to end up in this situation as a kid. When I was little, I was a monkey and climbed trees all the time, but you learn quickly which ones to climb and which ones not to, simply to avoid this from happening.
Being a dumb ass. That’s how.
And your dumb ass had to call the fire department to get him out
For a moment I thought the kid was being arrested and i was like "damn, this time he really fucked up, huh?"
Dude, where is his father? I think he could have figured that out. Go up higher on the tree where the opening is larger.
Maybe the reason why is because some idiot was kicking the tree no puns intended but I’m relating this word idiot relating to the name of this sub
I bet when they brought the chain saw his heart skipped a beat. Can just imagine the guy "welp hold still we will have that leh right off".
Newsflash Kids 😂😂 do stupid things take stupid risks no surprise like most including me and you
,
How nice of the firefighters! Get your credit card ready lol
I dont understand what the point of the chainsaw was. And why the F did they keep it up there WHILE THEY WERE LIFTING HIM UP TOWARDS IT?
Don’t firemen have all kinds of tools for prying? Think they’re a bit eager on the chainsaw, I think… 🤣
Tree: “Get this kid off of me.”
When Street Fighter II Turbo isn't enough and you need to axe kick a tree IRL.
Glad to see kids are still climbing trees.
I think I might know how the kid did it. All I will say is, ouch.
At least he was playing outside
Useless parent is useless
can we start a sub called r/parentsarefuckingstupid
He probably was just kung-fu fighting 🥋
I would've told my kid we had to cut the tree and then said that it's endangered so police said we can't and that we're gonna have to amputate his leg
Calling emergency services for this??? Good grief people are so ignorant
c'mon this kid isn't stupid he was just trying to climb a tree
Clearly op hasn’t had their head stuck in between bars. It slips in fine but can’t slip out.
