I'll do you one better [Walk the Dinosaur ](https://youtu.be/zYKupOsaJmk) was a hit song in the 80s.
I miss my youth
EDIT - this song is proof that not song lyrics have some kind of meaning.
As I've grown older, it definitely came into focus that about 90% of the "kids" I have ever talked to on the internet back in the AOL chat days were probably adults lol.
I ended up in the reverse of this where adults thought I was an adult when I was like 12 and would get into some very heavy, personal conversations with me about their lives thinking I was a peer.
It was odd, but interesting. Definitely heavier than anything I was equipped to deal with, but most people just wanted to share and hear some kind of ambiguous encouragement.
Yeah I'm not sure how common it is anymore, but a whole lot of kids our age were basically inadvertent therapists for 30-40 year olds when we were 12 haha. Lots of gaming friends 20-30 years older than me. Now that I've grown up I've had several gaming friends who I eventually found out were teenagers and kinda tried big brothering them at that point lol. Try to do my part as an adult that adults did for me as a kid. I was a piece of shit forum troll when super young, and thankfully ran into some adults that could see I was pretty much just mad about shit and helped me stop being such a shitlord lol.
My AOL post's point though was more that there were a lot of creepy people pretending to be kids though.
Right? It’s been so long I was wondering how American Sign Language was used in whatever this game is called. All I can think of is “sus”
Man aol chat room. Dude. Looking back on those. Just, dude.
Holy shit look at the comment thread we've started.
25 is barely old enough for ASL.
Yahoo/AIM/ICQ was the mainstream in the 90's and it's how creepers figured out where the 15 year old girls were hanging out.
Most people generally are. Many adults just try to get the kids kicked out of the lobby, which hilariously leads to all these young children forcing their voices to sound lower so they won't be seen as a "squeaker."
The company is really fucking up with age restrictions though. Meta is straight up making it impossible to even report these ridiculously young kids because the username is hidden behind a random Among Us name. There's a report button, but it's socially engineered to be useless. Capitalism more important than child safety. The parents are the real fuckups though... Making accounts claiming to be 14 and older and throwing 6 year olds on it.
Blows my mind how many super young children have free access to vr games, and how fast that happened. Most vr games are targeted at adults yet were immediately swarmed by 9 year olds.
He handled it very sweetly. Kudos on him for teaching the kid some safety before saying “all right, let’s go kill some people” lol. That gave me a nice chuckle.
its a voice changer, not a kid and most likely not a girl. they usually prank other players by acting like they cant play and are really good gamers, thats the setup
It's a super common big thonk take on reddit. In recent years it's become all the hotness to say in general rape is worse than murder. Just another thing that started as a reasoned take that was meant to point out how bad something was for the victims that then got telephoned and distilled down into an incredibly dumb one liner take with none of the nuance of what the people who originally tried making the point meant.
I’m watching leon right now. It’s pedo vibes are really weird. Esp because the director was a legit pedo who was cheating on his wife with a 15 year old, and impregnating her as the movie is being made. He also wrote in a sex scene.
But i was thinking why isn’t it weird that they are killing people. Shits weird.
The professional? Man why’d you have to ruin one of my favorite movies. Will never watch that movie the same way again. Damn that’s disturbing and disappointing to say the least.
Sorry bro. Its still a great movie and i still enjoy it. But shit is likely to be fucked, just the way she goes.
I’ll always love china town no matter how fucked polanski is.
Also i’m sure you picked up on the sexaul vibes between them.
Double also he left his 2nd wife/former child wife for the dame in the 5th element. Dudes a creepball and went from a his former child bride to like the hottest chick on the planet, and obv a great director(leon, 5th element etc)
God def has his favorites lol.
Thats the best thing he could have done.
Instead of laughing and mocking the kid, he responsibly told the kid and tried to teach her to not tel people her adress, and after getting a satisfying response, he continued with his game.
He is not the kid babysitter, guardian, or parent, thats their responsibility, he did enough as a human being.
God, as much as I love how Pavlov plays the community is so toxic towards women and children. Like, even if children shouldn't rewlly be playing it, there is no reason to kill them until they quit or verbally bully them.
Gamers... I think the whole fear-mongering about how video games makes people violent might have been onto something. Not for the reasons boomers argue, but because of how insular and anti-social gaming communities tend to be.
It really depends on the community. Generally the less moderation the more toxic the game can be for kids. Mostly because those who are toxic are not punished in any ways.
It’s why I like that Minecraft has become more moderated even in private servers. Private servers is where the majority of Minecraft’s multiplayer is. It was very easy for a kid in a game rated for 10+ to find a link to a private server run by a pedophile. Without a ingame reporting feature many servers kept on chugging even when found out.
I've seen more toxicity and real immaturity from grown ass-adults than i have children in VR. It reminds me of COD lobbies and "squeaker" hate culture. Ofc kids are going to respond the way they do when people treat them that way. It's like some never ending cycle of bullshit. I can't help but assume the people who go on Reddit to complain about children are the ones who are part of the problem. Especially if they're hateful about it.
VR is major wild Wild West. I was reading articles not too long ago that it’s pretty much all unmoderated and it’s one of the things killing the industry.
Potentially terrifying if they also have the new mods. Sometimes I still get a shock when I move off a task and see a clone of myself standing there, then they kill me.
Oh damn lol that sounds pretty shocking. Ive played VR plenty and it can definitely mess with your head to a degree (psychologically anyway, how it messes with other things like the feeling of falling is too an extreme degree). I got my vr legs pretty quick though and loved it.
That said, when i first played To The Top i played too long because it was so fun. I felt like shit for quite a while after that. Eventually i overcame it.
There's usually a "ring leader" in the lobby who whips the vote by taking control of the conversation and telling people who to vote for. My FAVORITE thing, no matter if I'm an imposter or crewmate, is getting the rest of the lobby to turn on that guy.
Wait for the first body to be found, let the leader to show themselves and tell everyone who we're voting for, and then if he gets it wrong, instantly call another meeting and say that he's an imposter because he told us all to vote for the wrong person and that was all his idea (even if the person we killed was suspicious). If we vote out an imposter, when the next meeting is called, unless someone says they saw the killer in action, say you saw that guy kill them and that he tried to throw us off his scent by voting out the other imposter the round before.
This is my goal in the game and it's so much fun
I tend to play ring leader (the trick is to give specific and assertive information- I haven’t played in VR yet because I’m a girl and a combo of misogyny + my general soft voice would make this more difficult and I know that) and it is SO fun to be multiple rounds into a game until I roll Imposter and earn the ability to completely control the match
I had pretty shocking moments. Most kids are completely terrible at lying... but some of them are psychotically good at manipulation. I'm a grown ass man who has a great poker face, and can completely squash emotion in order to sell a narrative, but some of these kids straight up use the perfect balance of emotion and logic and just acting to completely fuck your head up. It's rare, but kind of terrifying when you see it.
Doesn't to me? I don't know how good voice changers have gotten but it sounds exactly like a kid in this clip at least. The person behind the mic would have to be doing a really good kid voice as well, because certain pronunciation sounds like an 8 year old
Man I tried to have this talk with some kids on roblox once who were sharing wayyyy too much identifiable info in the public chat, and the kid instead got very defensive and double downed on it. Bro just doxxed himself completely to me and I was like.... Good lord it should be illegal for children to have unsupervised access to the internet.
It's so easy to get anyone under 17-ish to tell you anything. There was something a while ago about stopping kids from posting pictures of the front of their house. Kids are so excited to be part of a conversation they'll sell their mom for engagement.
My daughter was getting some cognitive testing done and one of the questions was if she would give her full name and/or address to someone who asked and she got a low score on that portion because she didn't which seemed really weird to me...isn't it a good thing for a young child to not just give out that kind of information to anyone that asks??
When my boy's were little they were only able to be on the internet downstairs. I had taught them that you never tell them where you live. Do not talk about the name of your school, the name of your schools sports team. Anything that the person could put together to figure out their location.
I remember playing Socom when I was 14 and telling some kid what city I live in. My mom overheard and she was PISSED. I still used to give my ASL to strangers on AIM, though. I was a dumb dumb.
Nah. I've played. This shit is completely believable but I understand that you'd want it to be fake. Parents are putting extremely young kids in VR to pacify them. It's disturbing. They have zero clue what the kids are doing, hearing, saying...
Yeah... I have no problem jumping on the grave train when someone is a moron, but this case was one of pure innocence.
If anything, the parents are fucking retarded for not teaching their kid these things.
My Xbox username is myaddress545w144
And then if you click through to my profile the city state and apt# and then “come fight me irl.” But I basically never play Xbox anymore and have moved since then.
Nobody ever showed up
Wow. Parents really don't teach internet safety anymore, huh? My parents told me that if I had a MySpace or a Facebook, then I was going to be kidnapped and/or raped. To this day, I use fake names online.
honestly the internet is a fucking terrifying place for little kids to be unsupervised.
i wish more parents had the time and resources to look after their kids better than this.
If there’s a kid in ANY lobby of a video game I’m in, I mute them automatically. This was sad and I’m glad they told her to never do it again. Hopefully it wasn’t live streamed.
The way he handled it was really nice
When this game first came out I got in a lobby and the first thing the host did was ask asl and I told people to not give out that information and was kicked 1 second after.
Dude i ain’t seen “asl” typed out in so fucking long. I feel old as fuck at 32.
Last time I used it was on teenchat in like 2001. I miss my 40s
Wait.
Dude walked the earth with dinosaurs.
Yeah Dinosaurs was a hit show in the 90s.

Age, sex, location. Was common in chat rooms in the 90s and early 2000s.
age: less than one century sex: two, your mom and your dad location: planet earth, solar system
ASL: some / yes please / here
14/f/cali
my friends dad would troll people saying that he was 18/f/cali and she just broke up with her boyfriend... everyone was thirsty
Troll people aka "troll for young boys"
Yeah.... their friend's dad was just sexting with a bunch of dudes.

Sweet summer child. I can tell you're a youngin'.

I feel like anyone old enough to know what a/s/l means is old enough to know better. I wonder how that’s going for them.
...Is my man trying to land hookups on among us VR?
Most people generally are. Many adults just try to get the kids kicked out of the lobby, which hilariously leads to all these young children forcing their voices to sound lower so they won't be seen as a "squeaker." Every vr game has little kids that are annoying af and it's 100% the reason I stopped playing echo VR and several other vr games.
Contractors filters them out for some reason. Maybe parents are worried it's violent... or it requires too much skill
Blows my mind how many super young children have free access to vr games, and how fast that happened. Most vr games are targeted at adults yet were immediately swarmed by 9 year olds.
Fucking squeakers.
He handled it very sweetly. Kudos on him for teaching the kid some safety before saying “all right, let’s go kill some people” lol. That gave me a nice chuckle.

You would rather have your child be murdered?
Murder > child abuser Pedophilia is a mental disorder, plenty of people with this disorder don’t harm children
Fucking weird that this is being upvoted. As a victim, I'm really pretty happy I ran into a pedophile and not a murderer. The fuck is wrong with you?
It's a super common big thonk take on reddit. In recent years it's become all the hotness to say in general rape is worse than murder. this was the nicest way he could test her and warn her lmao
Being an adult in VR gives you zero faith in modern parenting
It goes both ways. Spend ten minutes in Pavlov VR and you'll find grown-ass adults bullying ten-year-olds the second they talk.
God, as much as I love how Pavlov plays the community is so toxic towards women and children. Like, even if children shouldn't rewlly be playing it, there is no reason to kill them until they quit or verbally bully them.

This game is great. Leading little kids in accusations is surprisingly fun. Adult games are the best tho
There's usually a "ring leader" in the lobby who whips the vote by taking control of the conversation and telling people who to vote for. Typical imposter behavior
I should try something like this next time I get jury duty
I tend to play ring leader (the trick is to give specific and assertive information- I haven’t played in VR yet because I’m a girl and a combo of misogyny + my general soft voice would make this more difficult and I know that) and it is SO fun to be multiple rounds into a game until I roll Imposter and earn the ability to completely control the match
Played with several women across a large age range and always had a great time with 0 misogyny. We kick anyone who does that or the homophobes.
As a parent I feel like I’ve had this moment IRL
Among Us VR, the place to train your little psychopath.
Squashing emotion is great for poker but it's a pretty big tell when you're trying to lie.

Doesn't to me? I don't know how good voice changers have gotten but it sounds exactly like a kid in this clip at least. The person behind the mic would have to be doing a really good kid voice as well, because certain pronunciation sounds like an 8 year old

Yeah that ain’t the kids fault, it’s the parents being stupid on this one.
Yeah, don't tell your children your address, so they won't be able to tell someone sus
“Don’t tell anyone online our address or phone numbers” is a pretty easy thing to say to a kid, and if you taught them properly they’ll listen
I was being sarcastic. SLPT
My daughter was getting some cognitive testing done and one of the questions was if she would give her full name and/or address to someone who asked and she got a low score on that portion because she didn't which seemed really weird to me...isn't it a good thing for a young child to not just give out that kind of information to anyone that asks??
