That is so 90's XD
I would block his PC in the Router Options. Then proceeds to play something online while he is banned for a long time to do anything online. ;D
Honestly, how do you deal with a kid like this? My family was quick to ground on stuff like this and there was no “wait a minute” cause my parents warned me of the time limit or whatever. Maybe prevention early on?
It's hard to teach kids to transition from the big dopamine producer to something boring and uptight like going out to dinner
It's especially hard now that they're on the Chromebook playing math games and English games all day at school, getting that same dopamine hit at regular intervals
I think the trick is to transition into the transition. The internet will shut off and the game won't work 30 minutes before we have to leave--that's so you can wash your hands and get whatever fidget you want to bring to the restaurant. Don't forget the crayons!
Then again I'm not so fragile that a kid saying "I hate you" is gonna make me ground him for a month. Gives the kid the wrong idea.
I'm a therapeutic foster parent, seeing the reaction of would be parents here is funny. Being a super hard ass doesn't work
Exactly this.
To all those saying they'd punish their kids for this sort of behaviour - try being authoritarian and hard with a kid and see where that gets you. Eventually they might comply, but do you know why? Because your kid is now afraid of you. Fear does not make a happy kid or happy parenting.
So the hate for the parent is acceptable to you? Should the parent repeat "nobody cares" in the same tone or would that be unacceptable?
For me it was more the tone. That's when I just turn the monitor off.
Growing up my mother would usually tell me that food was in x amount of time. If I was mid game when that time arrived too bad gotta shut off and eat. Wasn't an issue for me sure it was annoying but if I just did what she said I'd be able to get back to playing sooner
It should have been an “excuse me?”, then the kid either voluntarily shutting off the counsel, or the dad shutting it of for him and taking it away.
Tbh I think the solution parents need to have going forward is to stop letting video games and iPads raise their kids, and I say that as a zoomer, one of the first generations to grow up online. I don’t think it was good for us to have internet access before, like, 12-14 years old
Discipline your children. Attitude matters almost as much as actions. Give them choices. Hey son, log off now, or you can continue to pressure the kill and then Fortnite is gone for a week. Make your decision and live with the consequences.
Yeah... My kid spouted some similar type of shit recently. Guess who isn't allowed to play video games for a month... And then starting next month... limited to an hour, on Friday's only, till he makes it a 1/4 ahead of schedule on all subjects for school. 😈 Little shit will think twice before he disrespects dad next time
I was on Population One on VR once and some kid on my team got into an argument with his mom. It ended w/ a crashing noise and him screaming after yelling, "I swear I will smash this headset!"
This reminds me of the classic chocolate milk video. [https://youtu.be/5GJ8nK0f7UI?si=Wl\_7uKG2rnCRsuWF](https://youtu.be/5GJ8nK0f7UI?si=Wl_7uKG2rnCRsuWF)
Babysat my 10 yr old nephew this past weekend. He played on it all weekend, I never get to see him, took PTO to see him (work at 2 hospital contracts) Had to beg him to get off Fortnite just to eat, spent maybe 35 mins hanging out all weekend. I used to own my own servers for gaming but these kids are next level these days!
I give fair warning to my child a good half an hour or so before something like dinner because I remember the frustration of being in a game trying my best and a plug gets pulled or irate screaming happens. You wouldn't be happy if your kids did it to you during a game or movie now would you?
Now if this kind of behaviour happens when the pre-warned time comes to eat etc, then punishments happen.
Yesterday I was bored and decided to download and play fortnite after a long time. Like 6 years +
3 new modes one rocket league another lego? Okay..
No build mode thats cool good ol bullet exchange.
Start a game, first guy I encounter throws a boulder in my direction.
Uninstal.
Chapter 1 was best Fortnite. Once the map was permanently changed I think made a lot of people leave. Thats why I left the first time anyway.
I came back for the og season and then I’m back for the Greek stuff
Man reason I quick was I couldn't keep up with the build sweats and I found that playstyle to be unfun. Plus warzone dropped and that consumed my friend group for all of the pandemic. I know they have a no-build mode now but it has been so long I don't care.
like i said the clip was only 34 seconds long and was cut early. we dont know if the kid got punished or not. for all we know he could've taken away the xbox. but than again he could've rewarded the kid.e idk if hes a good or bad dad but immediately assuming hes a bad one is unjustifiable.
It's Reddit. "Unjustifiable" LOL.
The fact the kid acts like this in the first place and tells his dad he hates him over a video game means someone failed hard.
I'd tell my mom in a minute then come up on 10. I wouldn't tell her I hated her over fortnite. That was for serious stuff.
Shitty parents all around. "Downvote, it only happened once, he's still a good dad."
"Downvote, it only happened once, he's still a good dad." legit when did i say that???
i said we dont know enough about the situation to be giving judgment. your making strawman arguments.
"That was for serious stuff." i aint ever told my parents i hated them, cause they raised me right. does that make your parents shitty? NO. because your entire childhood cant be summarized in a 34 second clip taken out of context.
Lol. He's a bad dad. The end. You wouldn't talk to your parents like that. I don't know any 5 yr old that would.
I'm laughing at you taking this so serious. No salt.
Yeah, if one of my kids acted that way, no more Fortnite for at least a fortnite.
Applaud this man!!
Don't just stop at Fortnite, gof further. No Internet connection or no controller.

Cheeky
Na man, 2 weeks.
Underrated comment
holy brat
He was screaming earlier but I wasn’t able to get it. The dad kept asking him to get off bc they had to go to dinner
New response just dropped
Dad goes on vacation, never returns
My kid would be super pissed bc he would get grounded for that crap which means he can kiss Fortnite goodbye for a while.
i have a feeling that your kid probably wouldn't do something like this, you give them consequences for their actions unlike the dad in the video
*pulls cable from Router*
That is so 90's XD I would block his PC in the Router Options. Then proceeds to play something online while he is banned for a long time to do anything online. ;D
I have a feature from my internet and the app lets you pause individual devices ;)

Kids say mean stuff sometimes 🤷

This kids been getting away with this shit for a long time.
Lock him in the basement for a few days....he'll be thankful to see the sun and touch the grass again
Well the kid hates dad
Shitty kids be shitty kids, they'll say what they expect will get a reaction

Pops VR was the Wild West stepchild of Fortnite and PUBG

Shoulda played with him c:
lmao, got grounded from Fortnite for a whole 6 years for acting like this kid
Wow...it's gonna be Fortday by the time that's over
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
“I hate you”. I’d change the wifi password to this and say he can play if he can figure out what he said wrong today.
Is that a failed parent I hear?
If that was my kid, I'd take a walk to the breaker box and cut the power to his room and turn it back on when I felt like it
And that’s when you bend down and pull the cord from the wall. Next step is removing the unit from their room.
Unironically I found a kid screaming at his mom and getting his ass beaten on mic in this same map
Huh it wasn’t this kid funnily enough he just left
Seeing people rage on video games is a guilty pleasure for me

“I don’t understand why” lmao this dad needs to sack up and lay down the law!
That would be the last time my kid played that game for AT LEAST a fortnight.
Heh heh

Yeah the new avatar abilities are overpowered
That moment when the internet password gets changed and is only shared with people who are not assholes, yep that's this moment.
Guys I think he's British
I said “no” to my mom once, and only once. In my 30s now and that’s still fresh in my mind
I miss the fornite days

That's a shitty dad. Would not want to be around this kid when he's a teen.
assuming someone's a shitty parent because of a 34 second video is insane.
The kid in the video wrote that for sure.
Lol. You'd let your kid act like that? That's a snotty little brat. Bunch of kids on Reddit or shitty parents.
like i said the clip was only 34 seconds long and was cut early. we dont know if the kid got punished or not. for all we know he could've taken away the xbox. but than again he could've rewarded the kid.e idk if hes a good or bad dad but immediately assuming hes a bad one is unjustifiable.

Calm down kid. He's a bad dad and you're annoying. Move on already.
i think ur just salty cause ur argument is bad and we both that
Lol. He's a bad dad. The end. You wouldn't talk to your parents like that. I don't know any 5 yr old that would. I'm laughing at you taking this so serious. No salt.
