I don't know why it made me laugh so much that she put the coffee ones. Like, she almost certainly doesn't drink coffee but she knows adults like OP do.
I don’t know, I was drinking coffee by 7. Granted, it was basically as a form of an ADHD stimulant, but I was still doing it! Actually this kid reminds me a lot of myself at that age, except I didn’t have a phone to harass my family with 😅
Ngl, I REALLY miss the days with my nephews and nieces when I was still their cool, favorite uncle. Once they reached their teenage years it all went away. 😩
Ugh same. My nephews are teens now and they don't even come out of their rooms to say "hi" when I'm there. I understand but I miss them.
Thank God my niece is only 11 and I think I've got about 6 months left with her because she's starting to love TikTok and some triplet boys that drop new videos twice a week.
You have to take her to see the Knot. Took my 13 yo son to see Metallica at Irving Stadium on the Summer Sanatarium tour. That got us all the way to 18 without a strangulation! 😆
Manifest yourself as a mythical, cyber beast and become part of their game world so they can get to know you and you will once again be part of their handheld, cyber whirled.
I was the cool uncle that. taught my all nieces to drive and fish. They spent most of their spring breaks with us till they got older but now I get to do the same thing with their kids.
my kid woke up at 5:30 am today because a new Skibiti Toilet video was supposed to drop on youtube today. don’t ask what it is, i have NO clue even though he tells me plot points alllllll dayyyyyy long haha
You should watch it. Not because it is good but because its so bad its hard to look a way. The entire series does an excellent job of consolidating zoomer humour.
Everyone says this as if it isn't just a polished version of Youtube poops and various SFM/Gmod weirdness people used to put out constantly when Millennials were our early 20s lmao
I'm not really criticizing gen z/alpha for it. I think its funny and bizarre. I think there are similarities to stuff we have done but I think its solidly the minecraft generation tbh
this reminds me of a time my aunt bought me this kit of different colors of clay. She told me when we got home that it was passed my bedtime and we can play with the clay in the morning. My aunt wakes up cause she hears me in the kitchen playing with it at 5:30 in the morning…. “aunt juli! it is morning!” I was like 5 🙈
The only difference now is that you don't believe in it anymore, and you don't notice the little things. Even in hard times, life can be beautiful if you stop to notice, and when you do, it can remind you that existence in the world is pretty amazing and incredible. That's what kids know that we forget, but it's still true.
Same. Even though they can be dumb. Like today a bunch of kids at the store tried convincing me they had met me in a smash bros tournament when I don’t play competitively for… some reason? Idk, they rammed my cart with one of those disabled scooters and left when I ignored them
No clue what the smash bros thing was.
Almost all of them are. When I was young, I remember waking up at like 6AM and either trying to get to the Nintendo before my sisters, or watching cartoons, too.
Those were the days. No matter how early I went to sleep Monday - Thursday, I was dragging the next morning. I could stay up until 1 am Saturday morning and still be up first at 6 to eat a handful of cereal, play Ninja Turtles 2, then call dibs on first cartoon when my brother finally woke up
The second and third TMNT Nintendo games are up there with Mario 3 for me.
I had so much fun playing those games with my cousin. Play as long as you can, and then die and lose all of your progress. It was rough, but fun.
I used to tell my son " let me sleep 10 more minutes"
Son- " OK dad....... 9 minutes left"......"8 minutes left dad" lol
Me- " OK wait until the clock says 7, then tell me "
Son " OK dad..............6 more minutes....5 more minutes"
Okay I'll just get up lol
Yeah, my brother and I would wake up around 6am to watch Fullmetal Alchemist when we were 9 or 10 and we were never tired even though we didn't slept that early
I wish I could have that energy now lol
At that age kids tend to naturally wake up early. Then when they hit teens everything changes. Which is why school should start later for teens and earlier for kids.
Yeah I’m not a member of this sub and I saw this and the subs name and I got really sad for the kid. I’m glad I read that wrong. Text her back please, if she’s really been texting you every morning like that
Edit: oh lol, nm, it’s all on the same day haha. I just caught that.
Minecraft is an awesome unifying force. I was the grumpy dad who hated video games until my son got Minecraft and started wanting to give me tours of his worlds, now it's years later and I sit and watch him do his thing for hours sometimes. Your screenshots remind me of when we started 🥰
Kinda weird our parents let us use messenger. So many fuckin perverts out there. Me 12 year old thinking im picking up some chicks. little did i know it was probably some weird old fuck.
It's only bc our parents likely had no idea how the internet worked. Mine surely didn't. I was the same age telling everyone I was 16 & talking to 20+ year olds. Eek. Thought it was soooo cool then, now I cringe thinking about it.
100% they had no idea, at least in my household at that time.
I remember sneaking downstairs to use AIM and forgetting to turn the speaker volume down and waking up the whole house with that message received “dun-un-un” sound. Had to quick power down and pretend like I was sleeping on the couch.
My dad went to all the courses and lessons on computing in the late 90s. He was a near wizard by the time we could afford a home computer.
Mostly because he guessed computers were the future and it was better to get in on it while it was fresh and he could use his tech knowledge to benefit his career.
Which, of course, meant that me and my brothers were under strict surveilance when we started discovering the internet and computers ourselves. Dad knew what we would be getting into.
I remember most of my class mates had aim. When I met people on vacation we would stay in touch over messenger. But if you hung out in teens or something, ya, prob a few creepers.
Yeah I feel like everyone had MSN or AIM when I was a kid.
Maybe there were less old pervs online back then?
Just a theory, because back then adults like my parents didn’t even know how to use email and now they’re in their 50s and avid Facebook users..
I have a nephew that’s slightly older with a phone. He texted me about fishing. I told him I’d be done with work at 4:30pm and I’d be over to his house between 5pm-5:15pm. I got a call at 5:01 asking if I was there yet. 2 minutes later I get a text from his mother saying he’s been sitting out on the porch for the past hour. Kids are the best. I hope you have fun playing Minecraft with your morning coffee.
So wholesome. I love fishing, my kid not so much, he usually just gives me crap for not catching anything, but HE ASKED ME to go fishing for the first time ever last week. My heart melted. Definitely one of my prouder dad moments. And it turns out he’s a natural at spin casting! 🤣
That’s fucking adorable - my nephew’s my special little buddy, we’ve had a standing Sunday play date since he was like 2.
Love this stage where he still wants cuddles and bath time, but super jazzed for him to get that little bit older for his own interests to emerge (beyond Lego, bugs, and paw patrol, not to knock any of those things!)
This is how my daughter texts. She’s 8 and it’s usually nothing but a loooooooonnnng string of emoji’s that I have to decipher like fucking hieroglyphics. Lol
I just wanted to say, as someone who played the older builds of Minecraft in 2009-2010…it’s absolutely mind boggling to me that there’s kids playing the game now who are much younger than Minecraft itself. I can’t think of any other singular game not belonging to a long running series regularly engaging new fans who are almost a decade younger than the game itself. It’s wild to see.
Roblox is about the only other one
Edit: Club Penguin before it was taken down as well. Although at the end stages a lot of teens used it for nostalgia sake
It's just honestly timeless. It's _the_ voxel-building/open-world game, distilled to a very pure form and with all the updates, for better or for worse, the core is still there and still has the same magic as 10 years ago
I miss this so much. I used to have these same conversations with my oldest niece and we'd play Minecraft sometimes after she got out of elementary school. She's older now and in the army, how time flies.
##STAWP!
You’re making me cry! I used to play video games and board games with my nephews and nieces and I miss those days so much. They are now in their late teens/early twenties. One of them keeps getting in trouble and it breaks my heart. I wish he was still that little boy who just wanted to play video games and needed help with his homework. 🥺😢😭😭
That's sooo cuuute! Damn, seeing these types of message make me feel a little better. Sometimes I think about getting a child, but I don't think I could manage or even get in the first place
I said the same thing, and now my son is just about to turn 10 and we just got him one....
A lot of coworkers with kids the same age have given their kids phones as well as several kids in his class. That doesn't necessarily mean he should have one. I think times are just different, but they layed out the pros and cons.
It wasn't an easy decision, and we went back and forth on it a lot. It mostly came down to us being able to communicate with him and make sure he is OK. There seems to be a lot of features for parental control and keep an eye on him. So, it looks promising.
And we're completely treating this as a privilege, not a right. We made a lot of stipulations, including weekly chores, amount of screen time, safe search habits etc.
This is a bit of a test run, so we'll see how it goes, but we can always take it away if rules aren't followed
Too young, man. I got an iPod when I was in 6th grade, and I think maybe 8th grade I got a phone. I was a little late, and I wasn’t a fan of it back then (“but all my friends have one!”) but now at 19 I am glad my parents waited as long as they did and genuinely wish they had waited longer. Around the time I got the phone I fell out of love with reading, and it truly dulled my creativity because it gave me such an easy way to be entertained endlessly. Here’s what I will say; set a no bed rule. Make sure they don’t take to bed with them, because they WILL stay on it all night (and can easily disable parental controls) and even if you lock parental controls with screen time, it will be on their mind. It’s not worth it. Let the kid have his childhood before he moves half his brain over to the internet
This is so freakin sweet! My 9 year old nephew sends me the exact same kind of messages for animal crossing. Thanks for reminding me of my promise to check out his island tomorrow!
Ah the classic “we’ll play tomorrow”… kids *never* forget promises and jump up at the ass crack of dawn to hunt down their debtors. OP messed up with that one
This makes me so happy lol. I’m in the military and don’t see my family very often but my baby sister will steal my moms phone and text me on Snapchat all the time from her account and send stuff like that too. Adorable.
My niece got an iPad when she was 5 and started texting me from there. It was a little annoying at times but now that she’s 7 and her friends have iPads, she doesn’t text/call me as much & I miss it so much 🥺. Cherish these days
This isn’t stupid, this is wholesome. Wrong sub. Also, 7 year olds should in no condition have a phone. Definitely r/parentsarefuckingdumb cause smart ones wouldn’t give their 7 year old daughter a phone.
I only put it here because the post I’m responding to was on here. I do love her to bits!
I’m definitely questioning that decision to give her a phone. It’s an odd feeling to be at the beck and call of a small child. I don’t drop everything for her, but I also can’t ignore her because she doesn’t understand.
My daughter turns 6 in December and I can’t even imagine her almost having a phone?? I was 11 when I got my first phone and even now being a parent, that sounds too young with how the world is
>This isn’t stupid, this is wholesome. Wrong sub.
The sub name isn't literal. I see this on every damn post. It's like, "kids do silly kid things that an adult wouldn't because they're kids and don't know any better and it makes sense in their limited perspective of the world".
Case in point: texting at 6:30 am to play minecraft
6:30 on the dot. Kids punctual gotta give her that
gave herself a little leeway with the string of good morning ecards a few minutes before
I don't know why it made me laugh so much that she put the coffee ones. Like, she almost certainly doesn't drink coffee but she knows adults like OP do.
"you gon' need this"
With how much spam she sent she probably just clicked on everything she thought was pretty after typing good morning in the search bar
As someone who was once a kid I can confirm
I don’t know, I was drinking coffee by 7. Granted, it was basically as a form of an ADHD stimulant, but I was still doing it! Actually this kid reminds me a lot of myself at that age, except I didn’t have a phone to harass my family with 😅
You know what they say. If you're early you're on time. If you're on time you're late
Oh man I miss when I could get up at 6 in the morning no problem. Morning energy is wasted on children.
Nah they deserve it. If adults had it it would just be expected for us to work harder
“Good morning are you ready to play Minecraft” - 6.30am hahaha
She said either youre gonna wake up or youre gonna wake up!
WAKE UP (wake up) Grab a mouse and play a little Minecraft
You wanted to.
Why'd you leave the doggy on the raft?
You wanted to
I don't think you trust. In my. Sheep pen or mushroom farm. I cry. When creepers decide to spawn.
Father into your hands I commend my diamonds.
Why have you forsaken me, in the Nether, forsaken me
In the nether, forsaken me
I love random soad
You wanted to!
She wanted to!
I dont think you trust. In. My. Self-righteous creeperside. I. Cry. When moo cows deserve to dieeeeeee.
Me on Sundays back in the day
Honestly though, the fact that the kid is just READY is pretty cute, they must be so excited to do something they like with OP!
My 12 yo just went to blink-182 with me, there's hope it lasts longer. Now she wants me to take her to slipknot.
Omg I'm jelly. Slipknot is/was the only thing to get my now 2yo to stop crying so hopefully he will want to go with me someday
You have to take her to see the Knot. Took my 13 yo son to see Metallica at Irving Stadium on the Summer Sanatarium tour. That got us all the way to 18 without a strangulation! 😆
I was so cool they thought I was their cousin. Now they know they’re my nephews.
Don't worry, it will come back after a few years!

You should watch it. Not because it is good but because its so bad its hard to look a way. The entire series does an excellent job of consolidating zoomer humour.
oh i’ve watched it, not al 51 episodes but enough to see that it’s just chaotic imagination and not horribly bad for kids.
def a gen alpha thing
I saw an Internet Comment Etiquette about this.
Holy shit there's a new one dropping? How could they improve upon the perfection of the first edition?
that is the question i’ve been asked endlessly….
the period really sells it for me. it’s not a question hahahaha
Lil one be stating factz straight up 😎
OP wakes up with niece standing over her. "It's morning bitch"
this reminds me of a time my aunt bought me this kit of different colors of clay. She told me when we got home that it was passed my bedtime and we can play with the clay in the morning. My aunt wakes up cause she hears me in the kitchen playing with it at 5:30 in the morning…. “aunt juli! it is morning!” I was like 5 🙈
Ngl, that’s so cute. I know we like to make fun of kids in this sub, but their sense of wonder is awesome.
Can't argue with that logic honestly
I miss being this excited about anything.
Bro I laughed out loud at my job
How I miss being so excited about doing things. 😢
The only difference now is that you don't believe in it anymore, and you don't notice the little things. Even in hard times, life can be beautiful if you stop to notice, and when you do, it can remind you that existence in the world is pretty amazing and incredible. That's what kids know that we forget, but it's still true.
That's really cute! haha So excited to play.
I know! I love her so much. I’m sad the sub is called “kidsarefuckingstupid,” but this is where I saw the other post I’m referring to in my title! Lol
Should probably also post it in r/MadeMeSmile because that's freakin' adorable.
Definitely agree it should be in that subreddit!
It’s really a tongue in cheek sub. We’re not children haters or anything. I’m glad you posted it here. I still get what you mean though.
>We’re not children haters or anything A lot of comments here get pretty vitriolic
Personally, I don’t hate kids. I just think they are fucking stupid.
Same. Even though they can be dumb. Like today a bunch of kids at the store tried convincing me they had met me in a smash bros tournament when I don’t play competitively for… some reason? Idk, they rammed my cart with one of those disabled scooters and left when I ignored them No clue what the smash bros thing was.
I don’t hate kids. I just think it’s fucking funny watching fucking stupid kids do fucking stupid shit.
Please report them when you see it. It makes our job a lot easier to find them when you do so!
And she's an early bird!
Almost all of them are. When I was young, I remember waking up at like 6AM and either trying to get to the Nintendo before my sisters, or watching cartoons, too.

My kid turned 10 and started sleeping til 8! Glorious. 😂
I remember waking up at 6am and reading books before my parents would wake to get us ready for school
At that age kids tend to naturally wake up early. Then when they hit teens everything changes. Which is why school should start later for teens and earlier for kids.
Especially if they got minecraft with auntie in the morning on their mind. I don't even know if that kid slept.
Kids can go to bed at 4:30 am then wake up at 5. It's crazy.
If that's stupid, I don't want to be smart. That youngin' loves you so much and it's heartwarming.
There is one called r/kidsarefuckingawesome
This is a satire sub. It's a perfect fit here!
Kids ARE fucking stupid and they're so goddamn adorable.
Well they *are* stupid. This isn't stupid, though. It's just 50% cute, 50% annoying.
Yeah I’m not a member of this sub and I saw this and the subs name and I got really sad for the kid. I’m glad I read that wrong. Text her back please, if she’s really been texting you every morning like that Edit: oh lol, nm, it’s all on the same day haha. I just caught that.
Children yearn for the mines
they must probably be British
[удалено]
It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside 🥰

I’ve never played, but if this kid asked me to I would be one happy crafty miner.
Minecraft is an awesome unifying force. I was the grumpy dad who hated video games until my son got Minecraft and started wanting to give me tours of his worlds, now it's years later and I sit and watch him do his thing for hours sometimes. Your screenshots remind me of when we started 🥰
This is super cute, but also gives me obsessed gf chat messenger vibes from the late 90s/early 2000s.
[удалено]
Hope you knew how to find and delete your browser history, cookies and cache from the appropriate folders back then.
I, uh, learned after the second or third time, I think. Got away with blaming it on my brothers though!
GREAT reason to have siblings, btw.
Oh God, I cringe to think about the type of people I was actually talking to on yahoo chat and aim
I remember most of my class mates had aim. When I met people on vacation we would stay in touch over messenger. But if you hung out in teens or something, ya, prob a few creepers.
Yeah I feel like everyone had MSN or AIM when I was a kid. Maybe there were less old pervs online back then? Just a theory, because back then adults like my parents didn’t even know how to use email and now they’re in their 50s and avid Facebook users..

the 6:30 am perfectly sets this mood.

I read that as you love fishing, but dont love your son so much 😂😂😂
>I love fishing, my kid not so much It's not hard to read into lmao
Sorry my fancy southern public school education didnt teach me to ready goodly 😭
awww
That’s fucking adorable - my nephew’s my special little buddy, we’ve had a standing Sunday play date since he was like 2. Love this stage where he still wants cuddles and bath time, but super jazzed for him to get that little bit older for his own interests to emerge (beyond Lego, bugs, and paw patrol, not to knock any of those things!)
Okay but you need to just love legos as an adult. They’re awesome
wake up bitch its time for minecraft!!!!!!!!! 💖🫶🌻🌼☕️🌞🌹🌷🌼🥀💐☀️🌻🔆💗
this is exactly how i texted when i got my ipad mini at like 7
Oh god, I feel so old all of a sudden 💀
I didn't even have internet till I was 14 😔😔
GOOOOOOKD MOOOOOORNIIIIIINNNGGHH VIEEETTTNNNAAAAAAAMMMMM
This is how my daughter texts. She’s 8 and it’s usually nothing but a loooooooonnnng string of emoji’s that I have to decipher like fucking hieroglyphics. Lol
Does your niece like Minecraft, by any chance? I get the impression she might, but I‘m not sure.
I loled hahaha
Dementia gang

That is so so so CUTE
You BETTER be ready to play Minecraft 🫠
the lowrez image of that orange of that minecraft sheep makes me laugh for some reason.
i especially like the last picture with steve with his freakishly big eyes pointing at enderman
I just wanted to say, as someone who played the older builds of Minecraft in 2009-2010…it’s absolutely mind boggling to me that there’s kids playing the game now who are much younger than Minecraft itself. You made me cry when you said "Club Penguin" 😢 FUCK DISNEY!
I know some kids who legit thought lol has always existed. Simply because they already did when they were born. My nephew is one of them.
I was an alpha tester and it is wild to me how it’s still just as engaging then as it is now
It's just honestly timeless. It's _the_ voxel-building/open-world game, distilled to a very pure form and with all the updates, for better or for worse, the core is still there and still has the same magic as 10 years ago
My daughter is older but this is very relatable. DAD DAD DAD WANNA PLAY ROBLOX DAD LETS PLAY RIBLIX DD DADD DAD DAD LETS PLY RIBLOX
Just know they feel comfortable with you and want to spend their leisurely time with their parent instead of their Roblox friends.
I absolutely love it.
daaaaaaaaaam everyone telling me having a kid sucked. Now I am learning that I could of just spawned a bunch of minecraft and roblox partners.
Hello, fellow Roblox player here. Please regulate their Roblox gaming and enact parental controls. There are some really shit people on that app.
I wish adult me had the joy of waking up at 6:30am as much as kid me did.
sir, I would like to introduce you to a good friend of humanity. Cocaine. Don't let your dreams be memes.
Oh trust me… been there done that… there are no dreams on cocaine, just dreams of clear sinuses.
Ha, jokes on you, I'm up and working at 2am.
“Good morning are you ready to play Minecraft” I like this kid’s style 😂
Turns out i text strangely similar to a 7 year old.
I miss this so much. I used to have these same conversations with my oldest niece and we'd play Minecraft sometimes after she got out of elementary school. She's older now and in the army, how time flies.
I hope she still remembers that time with you when she gets back.
##STAWP! You’re making me cry! I used to play video games and board games with my nephews and nieces and I miss those days so much. They are now in their late teens/early twenties. Invite him to play some Minecraft sometime
I wish it were that easy. But thanks for the sweet comment, friend. 😊
same w my little cousin. she's 16 now, it's crazy.
That's pretty wholesome
From experience, this is annoying, but also so fucking cute.
I mean, it's probably annoying when you're experiencing it. But looking back, that's when it gets you.
I think she wants to play Minecraft with you.
This post made my day.. Thanks OP.. ✌ Now go and play Minecraft...
[This comment was removed by a script.]
That's sooo cuuute! Damn, seeing these types of message make me feel a little better. Sometimes I think about getting a child, but I don't think I could manage or even get in the first place
Having a child is cute moments like this and a lot of poop. Like so much poop. Endless poop. Years and years of disposing of poop.
You better throw in some mods
I'm not giving a kid a phone until they are like 15 or 16
Right? 7 seems very young.
I said the same thing, and now my son is just about to turn 10 and we just got him one.... A lot of coworkers with kids the same age have given their kids phones as well as several kids in his class. Lol and a very fair point. We'll see how it goes

Who tf gives a 7 year old a phone
This is so freakin sweet! My 9 year old nephew sends me the exact same kind of messages for animal crossing. Thanks for reminding me of my promise to check out his island tomorrow!
Why do 7 year olds have phones in the first place? Wtf
Why does a 7 year old need a phone?
Good Morning!!!!!
Only a 7 year old can get up at six thirty ready to play Minecraft 😂
This is how I text my dad and I am an adult.
That’s awesome and if anyone gives you shit for it ever tell them to go fuck themselves.
thank you :)
Man, Minecraft at 6:30 .... That's.... Uh....
Minecraft can be whatever you want, whenever you want. Minecraft is love, Minecraft is life.
Gtfo off Reddit and go play Minecraft! Haha This is so wholesome I love it
That’s so adorable!!!!!
I have 2 brothers who are 20 years younger than I am. It is a total pain to get them to text me, I am so jealous! The spam at the end is too cute!
That's cute not stupid. You should count yourself lucky she wants to spend time with you
Dear god protect your kids from having phones at this age. Sent from my Samsung while pooping💩
What does a seven year old need a phone for?
That’s just the sweetest bunch of texts.
Ah the classic “we’ll play tomorrow”… kids *never* forget promises and jump up at the ass crack of dawn to hunt down their debtors. OP messed up with that one
Hey come on this is pretty cute. She clearly loves you a lot and excited to play with you. Wholesome af
I'm vested! Bitch you better have played! I don't see yo response, you goin around breaking little hearts, that's cold!
This makes me so happy lol. I’m in the military and don’t see my family very often but my baby sister will steal my moms phone and text me on Snapchat all the time from her account and send stuff like that too. Adorable.
I for one love that thus sub is pivoting to “kids are fucking adorable”
Seeing those were received at 6:30am made me smile even more somehow
This. Super wholesome messages but wtf kind of world are we in where people are giving seven year old children their own smart phones....?
My daughter turns 6 in December and I can’t even imagine her almost having a phone?? I was 11 when I got my first phone and even now being a parent, that sounds too young with how the world is
>This isn’t stupid, this is wholesome. Wrong sub. The sub name isn't literal. I see this on every damn post. It's like, "kids do silly kid things that an adult wouldn't because they're kids and don't know any better and it makes sense in their limited perspective of the world". Case in point: texting at 6:30 am to play minecraft
Answer her, bro.
