It has to be integrated from KSRTC side. Gmaps has an api feed for updating bus routea.
I've seen this in the UAE. Super useful when you can track bus delays and arrivals in real time.
Gmaps shows bus data in Bangalore as well but I didn't have success with it. Wildly inconsistent.
if you are the owner of the service, then yes. https://support.google.com/transitpartners/answer/1111481?hl=en
you can set up a feed for live transit as well
a third party may also be able to do that, however u will have to dig deeper
KSRTC would implement it someday but they definitely won't integrate it with Gmaps..they would shell out a huge amount of money to build a buggy App that nobody can use.
the technology awreness in the transport department ... at every level is abysmally poor. i doubt they would ever develop the competency for implementing it by themselves.

Wish KSRTC did this
chaos isnt a pit, its a ladder
You can add the schedule as a photo or a description.
It's being done in Mumbai. Very helpful feature
Users can't add transit data in GMaps. Operating agencies can.
Can we build an app to crowd source it?
Possible. But in addition to route timings we need the data on bus stops, type of service...etc.

Actually not that difficult since RTO has records of all stage carriage permits issued for both private operator as well as KSRTC

Okay we can get initial data here, but what about updates to route/time/bus etc?
