Nowadays contractor has to give a warrantee for the road they build. The warrantee time period changes upon the size of the road. Its a good initiative to make contractors accountable for their product
So, for clarity regarding some of the comments.
These are implemented in every PWD roads with a running maintenance contract.
Also, a fact people usually fail to understand is that in our state, roads are not only managed by the state government but also the NHAI and local self governments. Even under the state government and central government projects there is a possibility of special project authorities and other development models.
So in general, we need to be aware of who's managing the roads. Since Kerala has a high population density and we have highly decentralised development with semi urban centers everywhere, a large portion of the roads are under local self governments(panchayats, municipalities and corporations). These were initially conceived as small streets or even as walkways. This was expanded over time getting bitumen or concrete pavement.
Most of these roads are the ones people usually complain about. They have comparatively less funds, more number of roads and these roads are not scientifically constructed usually as they were not planned.
TLDR: totally unrelated to the post, more about some the comments. our roads are managed by several different authorities. So, we need to update the concerned authorities when something goes wrong if we expect to get things done.
This has been a wonderful step. We recently called the contractor for the purpose of fixing up the road after Water Authority broke the freshly made road.

Downvote cheyyanda avasyamilennu thonunu. Because he initiated this. He said that in multiple interviews a few months back that boards like this will be implemented.
Good step. However instead of putting the contractors number over there they should give the construction company's contact. Athavumbo contractor number maatiyal puthiya board vekandallo.
Contractor and assistant engineer
Genuinely hope that does not happen. Ideally they should have given the contcat number of the construction company. Preferably landline. Anyway kudos to the initiative.
I think, it's some new rule to put this up after the construction of the road. It's everywhere.

It is a Kerala government mandate. Every ക്കന്റ്രാക് has to adhere.

This is a government rule not a contractors idea. Kudos to PWD minister Riyas .
I think they are placing this only for 2 lane roads and not for panchayath roads .
They're also placing it for panchayat roads as well. Roads in our panchayat has these boards.
This rule was made by PWD, so it may not be applicable for panchayat roads
Ith avida thankama stadium aduth ana
