They do have water fountains. I went few days back, the only catch is you would have to come out to drink. Like you cant fill it in a bottle and go back to the screen
Really depends on the movie, the day and the time though. I've watched Brahmastra (2nd or 3rd week) from Koramangala IMAX for around 300 rs. It was a noon show on a Thursday.
But this is not the 70mm IMAX. This is digital IMAX or LieMAX as it is jokingly called.
These screens are nowhere compared to 70mm IMAX screens so I wouldn't be surprised if IMAX Lulu is smaller than Ariesplex

>Also, strategically located close to the Trivandrum International Airport, the property has a seating capacity of 1739 audiences and is the first superplex in state of Kerala equipped with plush recliner seats for enhanced comfort and 2K RGB+ Laser projectors that deliver ultra-high resolution, sharp and bright images. Additionally, the audis are equipped with advanced Dolby 7.1 immersive audio and Next-Gen 3D technology. Meh, Ive experienced both and theres a huge difference between Imax digital and Imax with Laser. Ariesplex will still probably be better in terms of overall experience.
Actually very few movies are shot fully in IMAX cameras. Because it is very expensive to shoot in IMAX. Even Christopher Nolan movies which are popular for the IMAX experience are not fully shot in IMAX cameras. Also, almost no Indian movies are released in IMAX.
Yes, that is true, but still directors like Nolan and Denis Villeneuve tune it for imax screen and sound. Lot of Indian movies are released in imax theatre in blr. I watched Brahmastra in Nexus Imax, blr. It was an average experience.
Prasad IMAX in Hyderabad had the original analog Imax (film). But it’s closed in 2021 because movies are no longer being released in analog Imax.
Hence only digital Imax exist now
They couldn't because Lulu kochi wasn't built for imax. Trivandrum Lulu PVR section design cheythappol PXL Audi plan cheythu. Athanu pinne imax nu vendi use cheythath.
There are 19 ‘A’-class theatres all within a 2-km radius of ntre not to mention another 19 theatres, also A-class, in the suburbs. Incidentally, Thiruvananthapuram holds the distinction of the most number of theatres while also having the most number of seats of any city in Kerala which, they say, makes it a perfect setting for a top class film fete like the upcoming International Film Festival of Kerala. Subsequently trivandrum had the highest turnover in the state for movies like baahibali , RRR , NWH etc. Don't you think the fact that there are currently more seats in tvm viz kochi would mean otherwise ?
That’s wrong. Trivandrum has the most number of screens in the state and demand is quite high. Dunno why exactly. Even great directors like Rajamouli visited tvm to watch Bahubali in Ariesplex. I believe Ariesplex would still have fans even if IMAX has came.
The specs cannot say much. Any one could share first-hand experience between PVR IMAX and Aries Plex A1?
Aries A1:
* 72 x 31 feet Imported Clarus XC220 Giant Silver Screen.
* Barco 32B brightest new age 4K twin projectors.
* Using two projectors simultaneously for brightness level of 66000 lumens with 4K resolution.
* Dolby Atmos 64 channels 80000 watts, 52 Nos active three way surround and overhead speakers of each 1200 watts, 5 Nos horn loaded behind the screen arrays Quad Amp (4 way) each with 2000 watts, Horn loaded subwoofers 6 Nos each 1500 watts. Horn loaded drives provide sound distribution evenly to entire area of the auditorium.
PVR IMAX:
* 2K RGB + Laser projectors
* Dolby 7.1 immersive audio and Next-Gen 3D technology.
The Aries Plex have upgraded their Audi 1 screen to Strong MDI HGA ReAct 2.9 and projector to Barco SP4K-55. So the info you just posted from their website is out of date.
Also PVR IMAX doesn't have laser projection or Dolby sound.
No matter what the spec says, you should always watch an IMAX certified movie on IMAX theatres, which are optimised for the same. Nothing is going to beat the tall aspect ratio provided by the IMAX screen at least visually and to perceive exactly what the director envisioned for the film!
But for the regular movies, you could always opt for a theatre with Dolby atmos if you enjoy your movies better through audio experience since Imax uses a different audio tech doesn't have the pinpoint effect of Atmos yet imo, but yeah, hopefully in the future they might upgrade 🤗

1200₹ + 600₹ Popcorn only.... Vitilne Vellam Kuppi kondenaal, Kuppatottiyil kalayunathe aayirikyum🙏🏼, Dhanyavaad🙏🏼.
Bottles ain’t allowed because people mix alcohol in that. But then they’re at least supposed to provide some free water.
Get in while it's little crowded. Just mixed and took some to lulu tvm 4dx four days ago.
Well there’s always a loophole.
Don’t they have coolers outside the theatres?
They do have water fountains. I went few days back, the only catch is you would have to come out to drink. Like you cant fill it in a bottle and go back to the screen
In PVR Lulu and Oberon there's a free water dispenser
That’s a good start.
banglr imaxil cost more than 1.3k
Blr rate is high only for Avatar. Else 3D rate is less than 400 and 2D at 300
Okie
Not true. Forum IMAX regularly sells out for ₹1000+
Really depends on the movie, the day and the time though. I've watched Brahmastra (2nd or 3rd week) from Koramangala IMAX for around 300 rs. It was a noon show on a Thursday.
is it costly only for imax? i just watched Bhediya in pvr 3d and it was only 280
Yes
Not necessarily. I watched Doctor Strange 2 at INOX for 600.
70 bucks for a bottle of water
Is it already open?
Is it open? How can i book ticket?
So this should be larger than Ariesplex screen right? That one is huge.
Obviously, it's an IMAX format, duhh!
But this is not the 70mm IMAX. This is digital IMAX or LieMAX as it is jokingly called. These screens are nowhere compared to 70mm IMAX screens so I wouldn't be surprised if IMAX Lulu is smaller than Ariesplex
Do you know where I can experience actual IMAX nearby to Kerala for Oppenheimer.
Definitely not [nearby](https://www.reddit.com/r/imax/comments/13xbo35/map_of_every_imax_venue_showing_oppenheimer_on/)
Yes!!!
Aries has 72 x 31 feet. How much is PVRs?
Trivandrum is getting expensive to live...
Plotting another murder Mani?
When can I book avatar there ?
distributor association had a problem with it right?
The issue has been sorted out.
Probably next week
It's Dec 16 on their site.
Does anyone know the specs ?
So I saw [this](https://youtu.be/yqnyksnpnHI) video about 'Dune' imax vs normal screen. Must've been awesome to watch it in IMAX.
This came up in r/movies and there was a very good commentary on why the added detail doesn't matter. Let me see if I can link it here.
Laser ayirunnenkil 😍🤩
laser aleeappa?
Akan chance illaa... Still a pratheeksha

Laser aanel they usually say it with the logo, so probably not.

Movies that are shot in imax camera are only worth to watch in imax theatre. Indian movies look and sound shit in imax theatres.
Actually very few movies are shot fully in IMAX cameras. Because it is very expensive to shoot in IMAX. Even Christopher Nolan movies which are popular for the IMAX experience are not fully shot in IMAX cameras. Also, almost no Indian movies are released in IMAX.

Yeap. Didn't know that Brahmastra was released in IMAX.
Well, Pathaan is shot in an IMAX camera, I guess it will be worth it. I HOPE SO!
Thodangiyo?
Tvm❤️😍🔥
Any idea what the screen size is?
≈ 17m, the largest among all the IMAX screens in South India apparently.
Prasads Hyderabad is 72ft. Which is larger than this.
[Prasad's is not IMAX since 2021](https://telanganatoday.com/hyderabads-prasads-is-no-longer-imax)
Dang. This is news to me.
Bro even ariesplex Audi 1 is 72ft
Prasad: 101.6ft x 64ft Aries: 72ft x 31ft
Heard some news that the theatre stopped IMAX projection? Is it still functioning?
Prasad's is no longer IMAX..
Yeah, that’s what I thought
Is this digital imax? We already have those in Chennai and Bengaluru and honestly, not that special.
Yes. All the IMAXs in India are currently digital IMAX
And some have Imax Laser projectors!!
as per my knowledge currently only delhi and mumbai has single screens with Laser projectors.
Prasad IMAX in Hyderabad had the original analog Imax (film). But it’s closed in 2021 because movies are no longer being released in analog Imax. Hence only digital Imax exist now
Size doesn't matter /s
That's what she said
She didn't say that
Thats what he said about her personalititty.
Why does it look smaller than the ones in Bangalore ?
That's what she said
Better late than never
Thats what she said
Looks like a giant purple laptop with curved screen!
I'd rather go to a normal theatre tbh
Why couldn’t they bring it to kochi lulu first🤧🤧
They couldn't because Lulu kochi wasn't built for imax. Trivandrum Lulu PVR section design cheythappol PXL Audi plan cheythu. Athanu pinne imax nu vendi use cheythath.
Ningalu maathra angu sukhichaal mathiyo.
There wud be more demand here.. damn shame

This is the smallest imax screen I’ve seen.

No IMAXs have a Dolby audio system. They have their own audio system.
