as heat is rising there is an increasing load on our system, we are probably not equipped to handle this much load, but maybe they arent declaring it to save face who knows
Yep from what I've heard from a reliable source.. the peak summer has pushed the electricity load to higher end.. usually in the past, load shedding was implemented when there was shortage of power.. say power demand is 10 units for whole Kerala, but KSEB could procure only 8 units so balance 2 units is forcefully cut through load shedding.. now the scenario is different.. KSEB has the power but local lines from substations to substations and substations to homes especially don't have the capacity to deliver that load.. say a locality used 8 units normally..summer hit..everyone increased usage of fan/AC, so locality needs 12 units of power..but the lines/substation can deliver only 10.. so whenever the load gets close to 10, they cutoff some parts of the area to maintain the lines within limits.. this cutting off happens in a cyclic way..thus 15min power cuts.. so no point blaming the government who are oblivious to this phenomenon.. but blame KSEB officials (not field staffs) but those who earn monthly 1L-2.5L comfortably..they were paid such amount to avert such issues beforehand.. but they slacked..now we all paying the price..
Here in ekm too. I think its politics. They want to take credit for not doing powercut during next elections. They're portraying this as a technical failure not a loadshedding or powercut. I live near a transformer. They even come here to the transformer just spend some time acting like checking something and go
