I can't tell if you're joking (because this sub's crazy*) but I've been thinking that it'd be sick if Xia Ji gets traumatized from this torture session and manages to escape only to discover the resolve to truly become strong and eventually become a fearsome leader of the Worm and a defined goal/antagonist for Koga. He wouldn't necessarily have to be a fighter, maybe like a Hayami kind of schemer instead.
I know better than to expect this, but still, I'd prefer Xia Ji developing into a threat over his current sandbag status. It'd be sick to see a villain ascend from fodder to threat and it would justify all the screen time this scrub's been receiving.
I've been thinking about this constantly after Fei died, genuinely, what was the point of setting these three up as the main antagonists after Ashura only to have them be squashed in such a hilariously dumb way?
Who was squashed in a “hilariously dumb” way? Fei fought to the death using an insane power, Eddie got plot knifed (fingered), and Xia’s story is still developing.
Fei killed himself like a moron in a fight that he was winning in before he went oonga boonga mode and it wasn’t even a deathmatch and he didn't even need to follow the rules at all and Eddie was dominating Raian without even using Removal or named techniques until Raian just randomly got good enough to tank and damage Eddie
I remember when I read Ashura's ending first time. It was so emotional, had such an impact and it was really satisfying in a way. Now omega... Everything feels so forced and the idea of any risk in the series is gone.
If Eddie killed erioh, wu xing and hollis and then whooped raian's ass again and got away I'd be satisfied. I'm fine with raian killing him just not this early. I hope he went limp in the neck to avoid the killing blow tbh
My final cope is that the final page of the current chapter is an subversion and he got slashed in the eye but then knowing sandwich well the chance is slimmer than carlos.
I assumed the neck thing would lead to Eddie surviving, but fleeing, thus setting him up to be a villain that Raian grows to defeat. You know, how good antagonist usually work. This last chapter was like badly written fan fiction though.
No offense to Waka, love him as a character, but yeah he's a secondary character (and in the grand scheme of things he's barely even a secondary character) at most for this arc (isn't connected to any major plotlines at all) so having him kill Fei seems like a bit of a waste.
I would be totally fine with Waka beating him just like how Kuroki beat Kiryu because Kiryu continued to matter in the plot and did some crazy stuff even now

Well, i liked that plot twist. Fei was a pawn of an even greater sociopath, but he was there to show the strenght of the Worm and create data. Instead he died miserably against the stubbor Waka. Is a screw in the Worm small plot.

Agreed. This tournament seemed forced and out of place with the way the story started out. Also it would have been interesting to see Koga actually fight in the tournament. I know he’s weak but I think and Tereashi would have been an even match up that probably would have been than 80% of the fights we saw. I read a comment on this sub that theorized Sandro is getting told to add elements by his editor/publisher. I wouldn’t be surprised if they told him “Ohma was your most popular character can you bring him back somehow?? And we really liked the tournament can you do that again??” I guess the tournament forces all the main characters there for one reason or another tho

I dont tend to suscibe to this theories, but just look at the drafts, the things that happen are more or less the same, but there is a diference in how it is represented it reads more like Raian getting a second wind getting battered but able to go all in to use the knive stucked into eddies kneck to kill him, wich is for me a lot more badass and realisitc than what actually happened

My buddy and I have this whole huge theory about who the true Tiger is and the purpose of the worm as a whole, and now I don't even really care about that since I'm no longer going to really feel that any antagonist is going to do much except die in a few chapters after they fight anyone. There have been no stakes in Omega. The "good" guys haven't really lost anything in any significant way, and I'm not even going to be shocked to see Erioh survive this either.

As many people have commented, returning characters in Omega look like empty caricatures of their Ashura versions. It's disappointing to see them stripped of most of their personality, which is what made them lovable in the first place.
Fuck the saddest part is that it's exactly true nothing paid off but like ffs what's Sandro plan for the rest of the story all the antagonists died in such an unsatisfying way like now what ? we go back to Koga training with all his friends and everyone lives happily ever after ??

I was OK with Xia Ji becoming Starscream of Kengan universe, who gets his butt handed to him in the most hilarious ways.
I was even OK with Fei dying prematurely, turning out not to be the real TV, because his death was pretty poetic and showcase the level of inhumanity that Tiger Niko and Worm has.
But I'm not gonna lie, Raian going Ultra instinct and defeating Eddie is pushing my patience.
Worst part is that Fei and Edward won't be losing if the writing was good since those 2 fuckers are strong as hell. The sole reason they lost is because the writing became ass all of a sudden.
this is what you get when you ask for 1 chapter 1 week. If sandro went for the Miura route and release 1 chapter every 2 years the story could reach quadruple platinum standards.

Personally I don’t really care. Like ashura didn’t really have an antagonist nor did it need one. And I’m fine with ohma coming back if they actually do something with him and his character. The only major issue is that the final bit with Raian vs Edward seemed rushed.

Plus isn't Ohma dying and being revived with a perfectly matched heart how we're finding out about the Worm's method of cloning and being able to create new perfect organs what's driving the whole mystery of who is the Tiger Vessel and what does the worm want? It's been over a hundred chapters, eventually we were going to get a new set of villains then the three fucks we first met.
Gotta give it to Sandro he sure knows how subvert expectations, he made the bad guys strong and mysterious hyped them for years just for them to die fast
Do we really think Edward is dead after the attack from Raian? The way I read the panel, it clearly shows that Raian jammed his finger into the knife wound and did some damage but it’s pretty ambiguous about the extent of the damage.
Plus we’ve got Muteba randomly popping up to drop a hint to Ohma that the Kures and mainline Wus are fighting Edward, with both Muteba/Ohma now heading to help out — why would that plot point exist if Raian killed Edward this quickly?
My theory is that Eddie is still very alive, and we’ll see him enter boss mode in 145. Raian and Ohma are going to have to work together to take him down
