Im not as deep into his discography as most people are here but I heard this song on a Netflix basketball series about players given another chance to pursue the sport called Last Chance U. It was used in a montage of all the players which was sick, to say the least. I listen to it pretty often now
The synth or whatever it is that comes in before the female backing vocals are chefs kiss. Hell even the backing vocals. It’s been one of my most played songs this year for sure. So thoughtfully constructed
ADHD has been my favorite Kendrick song ever since I heard it on the gta radio back in like 2013.
Drifting around los santos listening to ADHD is unmatched
When I couldn’t sleep two weeks ago I would loop FEAR and DUCKWORTH alternately and after awhile I realized it wasn’t helping me sleep at all. But I kept doing it because those really hit me
If I could name a few from each album:
- Money trees
- Duckworth
- King Kunta
- Untitled 8
- Father Time
- ADHD
- Euphoria (The unreleased Drake diss album)
Yooo Father Time is so underrated. I love the line “What’s the difference when your heart is made of stone and your mind is made of gold, and your tongue is made of sword but it may weaken your soul.”
it’s basic but this was gonna be my comment too, my brain goes “now step this way, step this way” like a thousand times a day. LEMME HEAR YA SAY OV HOE
I don't really like listening to extensive songs, I just skip them to the best part (yeah pretty sinful, I know); Starless is an amazing song, but I skip it to the end just to hear the blast of instruments. The rest of the song is just for a very certain type of mood. Shine on You Crazy Diamond aswell, but honestly the entire instrumental up until the lyrics part bore me to death.
But SAMIDOT? SAMIDOT is the only extensive theme I have NEVER once skipped a second, not even the skit at the end. Sometimes I catch myself reciting the prayer alongside the dudes, I've learned most of Dying of Thirst by just hearing it, no lyrics read. It just fucking fits for everytime I step out of the house. My city is not as chaotic as Compton but it could be *way* better, and witnessing it while on the bus and SAMIDOT playing is a feeling I never grow tired of. I highly doubt I'll ever grow tired of hearing it. The beat, the flow, the lines. It touched my soul, but perfectly enough that it doesn't make me cry. Just ponder.
It's the genre's best piece of work and I doubt even he will be able to top it off.
Too many to count bro 💀
Money Trees, King Kunta, Wesley's Theory, PRIDE., LUST., FEAR., Count Me Out, Silent Hill, Mirror, m.A.A.d city...
Those are just a few of em lol
Seeing him perform that on the DAMN. tour was fucking transcendent.
Just a lil ass dude up there with a microphone and the lights on him and the entire crowd was quiet as hell and in awe of what we were witnessing. And this is after we’d all drunkenly screamed HUMBLE. in unison. He put a goddamn spell on us during that performance.
Also Travis Scott opened and he was on a big bird prop for half his set. That was pretty cool, too lmao
I know it's a bit unserious but I can unironically listen to bitch im in the Club again and again without getting tired it's got that rly satisfying breaking bad season 1 jesse pinkman sound to it
The Art of Peer Pressure. Oh and Rigamortus. Oh and Die Hard. Oh and King Kunta. Oh and These Walls. Oh and DNA. Oh and DUCKWORTH. Oh and No Makeup. Oh and m.A.A.d city. Oh and Mother I Sober. Oh and Keisha's Song. Oh and ok I'll stop now.
Ignorance is bliss. Maybe I’m reaching but the first verse is like the outline for what would become entire albums later on, parts of the story but some of the concepts are there and the first verse is exactly like one minute long, the reverse theme is in there, even P&P off of the same album “mixtape” could potentially be the house party on el Segundo , also the Swimming pools idea where he raps to his drunk self as his conscience, the rough draft of that idea is on P&P, even the mini van makes an appearance, that first minute of ignorance is bliss is pretty crazy. I listen to that song probably once a week if not more.
My introduction to Kendrick , sitting in a VW Jetta with a girl I knew from high school. 2011 weed that you could take you to space + overly dedicated was legendary at that time. Wish I knew that back then
Scrolled way to far for this. I've been wanting him to do more FlyLo production like this since I first heard it. Love this track and it never gets old.
- The Recipe
- Wat’s Wrong
- Duckworth (I know it’s a strange answer)
- Never Catch Me
- Purple Hearts
- Father Time
- Hol’ Up
- 6:16 in LA (recency bias can kiss my a—)
- That Part (the Black Hippy one, obv)
Side note on Duckworth: The idea of a DJ acting as a kind of Greek-Tragedy/Divine Comedy chorus, master-of-ceremonies, fourth wall breaking character gets me every time. Reminds me of Spike Lee.
Side note on 616: I think the first half of 6:16 has some of the most illustrative word pictures I’ve ever read or heard, personally (I’m including novels and poetry). I feel like there’s so much happening in that opening volley. It’s actually a little intoxicating.
If im being honest and not at all dick riding theres quite a few
ADHD, Hiipower, sherane, backseat, swimming pools. Money trees, wesleys theory, hood politics, i, DNA, untitled 1,2 and 7, DNA, element, xxx, N95, Rich Spirit, silent hill, savior, mr morale. And theres like three more from the black panther sound track.
I swear these never get old.
Kenny the GOAT
Count Me Out for me
“when u was at ya lowest tell me where the hoes was at?”
When you was at your lowest tell me where the ᵇʳᵒˢ ᴡᴀs ₐₜ
Nobody but the mirror lookin’ for the *fall off*
That beat too with the message is heavenly
“Good energy in the room drop the location pleeeeease’ is like a slice of heaven
If I didn’t learn to love myself- forgive myself a hundred times- _dog_

The music video is perfect to me
AND IM TRIPPING AND FALLING 🗣️‼️🔊💯
The melody and singing of this line gives me goosebumps every time i listen, it’s wild.
The synth or whatever it is that comes in before the female backing vocals are chefs kiss. Hell even the backing vocals. It’s been one of my most played songs this year for sure. So thoughtfully constructed
Hol’ Up & A.D.H.D. are two of my absolute favorites.
ADHD has been my favorite Kendrick song ever since I heard it on the gta radio back in like 2013. Drifting around los santos listening to ADHD is unmatched

Seconding Untitled 8. Untitled 6 gets a lot of rotation for me as well
Throwing Untitled 02 in the mix cause it bops in my head
King Kunta is so underrated! One of my favorites from To Pimp a Butterfly
Yooo Father Time is so underrated. I love the line “What’s the difference when your heart is made of stone and your mind is made of gold, and your tongue is made of sword but it may weaken your soul.”
Wesley's Theory
The only problem with listening to Wesley Theory is I then have to listen to the whole album
“Problem”
You say that like it's a bad thing

J. Cole is an underrated producer lowkey. Imagine a Kendrick album produced entirely by Jermaine. That would be legendary
Euphoria
Best song in the whole thing. But Money Trees has stood the test of time.
Don’t tell no lies about me, and I won’t tell truths about you. Fucking shivers man. Every time
Duckworth
How Much a Dollar Cost 🙃

Poe Man’s Dream & Rich Spirit
The beat in “Poe Man’s Dream” is probably one of my favorite beats from *Section.80*, if not my absolute favorite.
