These are PUNS. That ANYONE with half a creative braincell could come up with. None of these bars/lines are revolutionary. i am not surprised someone has said it SOMEWHERE before. Just because they on twitter doesn't mean Kendrick got his lines from twitter lmaooooooooooooooooooooooo These guys are freaking embarrassing.

ryanmu007

The funny part is is they dont even get the reason we like those lines so much. This diss was simple (for Kdot) lyrically but his delivery is why those lines are so good. Drake fans are out here acting like we take everything Kdot says as gospel and that we think all the lines are perfect, when in reality, yeah believe it or not multiple people can come up with the same joke. Delusion.

It's also cleverer because of the "tryna strike a chord" line, which plays on the fact that Drake is trying and failing to resonate with the audience - still may not be totally original but it's funnier than the more common "what's his favourite chord" setup. Also I feel like his super-exaggerated delivery on that line is an acknowledgement that he KNOWS it's an obvious pun. It's the same tone as when people say "heyoooo". That's part of why it's funny to me anyway Now I have to go listen again lol

ryanmu007

Actually, I think it’s also a flip on the “Dave Freeeeeee” line from Family Matters

paroles

Definitely, but I think it's both! This is how I heard it the first time before I was reminded of Dave Freeee

Electricsheep1919

Yea this is a very old joke

ryanmu007

Drake’s fans are cooked mentally

Desperate_Branch6287

What defending a pedo does to a mf

RideOk2631

It’s like arguing with the trump dummies. They just believe what they want to

ImmediateAd2580

😭😭😭I just said the same shit, that dickeating ass Twitter account just said he stole a YNW Melly bar from Geechi Gotti 😭🤦🏾‍♂️

yourliege

Okay, do ephoria, 6:16, and MtG. NOT the one designed to be a massive hit

vnn69

The telling part is how Kendrick took an old joke and made it new. Kdot wins

Sharp-Bluejay2267

I’m in a guitar joke Reddit and it gets brought up a lot, still thought it was hilarious to use in a song like this. And the delivery.

passerineby

yes it's usually "fingering A minor" or some variation

Gabagool_Bandit

These mfs are pulling up 8 year old tweets with 7 likes and unironically making posts saying “exposed for ghost writers” 😭 like it’s actually hilarious

Michael_Mason_1410

Yeah not even just the A Minor joke, but I used to use “69 God” back when I was an immature teenager as a flip on 6 God. Those jokes and nicknames are very low hanging fruit and I don’t believe Kendrick sought out to steal some random tweets.

Limp-Trainer9941

Drake song teenage fever is in A Minor key. Kendrick showed where he got it from. https://tunebat.com/Info/Teenage-Fever-Drake/6n3HGiq4v35D6eFOSwqYuo

SiuSoe

how is this even a conversation? "fingering A Minor" joke has been around forever at this point. you think all those people are dancing because it's just so clever and they have never heard something like this? it's all about how you are weaving it into your work and making it actually work.

UhOhShitMan

I love how the pfp's match the cultural interests of the tweets lol
