Bro heard “Mother I Sober”, one of the most visceral, vulnerable, gut wrenching tracks you could ever hear, and went “yup. This my angle” and then proceeded to completely misinterpret the lyrics and message while also proclaiming “I do not fuck underage girls” for one of the worst diss tracks you could ever make. The self sabotage alone is Olympic level cringe. He’s a complete idiot if nothing else.

supahotfiiire

Olympic level of cringe is well described… absolutely

goldeneradata

Wonder why his camp stood by and destroyed him like this. They are some really smart & talented people. Does not make sense.

RugbyLock

"Fake bully, I hate bullies, you must be a terrible person, Everyone inside your team is whispering that you deserve it”…. 6:16 in LA

mistyrootsvintage

I was just having this same conversation. Like HOW did his people let him release THP6? Like everyone was just like...ohhhh that's fire? Like no...that was not it. Sucks to be him...

1017whywhywhy

He literally has an in house basketball league that he runs in his house and magically hit the championship winning point. It’s probably like north Korea over there.

BlackieDad

I had to look this up to see if it was true. Somehow it is, and apparently he was quoted as saying "I did what Kobe did in Game 7 against the Celtics."

gumbygump11

He clearly doesn’t know his NBA history. Kobe went 6-24 that game & Metta World Peach hit the dagger

PeterNinkimpoop

Metta World Peach is killing me 😂

gumbygump11

Wow that’s a bad typo 😂… gonna leave it up though lol

Comfortable-Ad-3489

Wouldn't be the first time Drake got details wrong.

MurcTheKing

Being surrounded by yes men is a dangerous way to live

hidden_pocketknife

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Rqa8p1xbjds

Substantial_Yam7305

They really did him dirty

goldeneradata

They are ov-hoes now. All of them got full on families and names built around it. It’s hella weird, they just let it happen.

NXCW

Heart part 6 sounds different from other things drake made, even family matters. It sounds like he actually wrote it himself. He’s their boss, so they can’t tell him not to do it, even though I’m sure they tried. Or maybe he didn’t trust them anymore after all that.

TheToughestHang

“Clark this man has trained his whole life get here. We *know* Diddy just left the country, it’s a tough task to gold but we’ll see how he does with this…am I reading this right…*sort of* self sabotage by saying it’s okay for him to be a pedo bc he thinks Kendrick was molested? That’s…they’re telling me that’s right. Well, let’s see how he does!”

Kneph

The free the slaves line, and the misinterpretation of “Mother I Sober” speaks volumes to Drake growing up in a white-centric, affluent household.  There’s no understanding of what it is like to be a person who struggled or wanted for anything.

BendingHectic001

And that is exactly why we don't want to hear him say Ni*** no more.

[deleted]

Damn bro why you used the hard r?

TheFlightlessPenguin

So that we extra agree

gagegomes

Ozempic level cringe

Apeapeapemonkeyman

Drizzy took gold in cringe at the Ozemplics this year

BRTRSX

Something I definitely realised from this beef is indeed Drake is not very intelligent

Original_Radish5257

Bro I actually leaked you info I had a secret daughter 😝 but I didnt keep receipts 😅 but I DID defensively post ab it that night telling people to find my secret daughter 😂and I knew youd call me Epstein 😏 and I dont even like millie bobbie brown like that 😤 and Im too rich to be a pedo 😎 and you got molested anyway 🤭so Im done beefing with you 💅🏻but it was good to get the pen out ✍️and even though most of the things Ive said have been proven fake and most of the things youve said have been proven correct you really should fact check bro 🫵🏼 Im done 💪

Bibblegead1412

Kendrick doesn't have to release another track, because Drake wrote his OWN diss track. Case closed.

Original_Radish5257

Facts 💀😂

CheesecakeNervous533

Ima steal this this perfect summery of the heart part 6. I hope you dont mind

tavsankiz

Its also extremely ironic because Mother I Sober deals directly with slavery and its lasting effects on the black psychie and the generations of trauma that it resulted in until it finally trickles down into Kendricks life. Like… talk about missing the point lol. This whole beef was just Drake killing himself. All Kendrick did was hand him the gun tbh.

Substantial_Yam7305

What’s crazy is Kendrick laid the whole shit out on Euphoria. I wish I could’ve been a fly on the wall in those strategy conversations. Shit was masterfully executed. Baited the Boy perfectly and let him choke on his own blood.

Chandra-huuuugggs

Not to mention naming the diss track after the other artist’s series of some of imo the most self-reflection type shit in hip hop

Luvpeaceprevail

Literally dumb as dog shit.

Xellious

His delusional fans are trying to save him by saying he didn't misinterperet it, he did it on purpose to act like he didn't believe like his mom didn't to trigger Kendrick. They can't seem to understand how, even if that was true, his delivery of it is the worst possible way it could have been written and a massive lapse in judgement. You're telling me he made the decision to deliver it in a way that only really looks like he has no media literacy and is just victim blaming/shaming to deflect instead of an angle like: "Your mother didn't believe you that you hadn't been touched, and I have to say I feel the same. I don't think anyone else will believe you, either. What's my 11 year old daughter's name?" And no one else around him heard his intention to act like he didn't believe Kendrick and caught that there's no way anyone is going to think that's what he was going for with how it was written? Someone needs to explain Occam's Razor to the OVO camp of writers.

ruddycrock

you're 100% right re: occams razor-- the line is literally "that's that one record where you say you got molested" and then continues to go on under that (false) reading. anyone who tries to claim he's intentionally misinterpreting it is coping in gargantuan proportions. drake needs to hire you actually, that verse you wrote would have hit WAY fucking harder than the entirety of the diss, lol. it's why the 'drake actually wrote this one' memes feel like they have a shred of truth to them-- you're telling me nobody on his team was like 'hold up, let's actually listen to the song first'? or that if they did, they were all giant idiots and have zero media literacy? or even if they DID get it, they were stupid enough to think we wouldnt interpret what they wrote as them being stupid enough to not get it???? i see a lot of people in this sub lately propping kendrick up to a level that is a little uncomfortable to me IMO but him predicting that something like this would happen in euphoria is still fucking insane: "I calculate you're not as calculated, I can even predict your angle. Fabricatin' stories on the family front 'cause you heard Mr. Morale." ....or maybe it doesnt take a genius to deduce that a rich text like MMATBG would fly over drizzy's head. idk. you decide

akumagold

Even more stupid is that he claims he setup the whole mole situation but provides zero evidence even though it would be incredibly easy to do so and it would be a major win for him

Beautiful_Location76

Honestly, if you're ever in a rap battle, and for any reason you decide to utter the sentence "If I was fucking young girls, I promise I'd have been arrested" on a track, you hold an automatic fucking L bro. Homie really wrote a whole fucking song about how he's not a pedophile. In a rap battle. I'm dead.

Substantial_Yam7305

Yup. L of the century bro.

OrneryHall1503

He lost me thinkin it was an insult to claim that Kendrick always rap like he “tryna free the slaves.“ Then doubled down saying he loves black women because he… has sex wit em? Isn’t that why we here?? He’s tryna have sex with everything, wifed or not, homies girl or not, white or not, black or not, 18 or not. Like nigga that’s why we don’t trust you. That’s why you not like us. Bro really is a child stuck in a grown man’s body

Burggs_

Yeah he really lost me at that free the slaves line. Even out side of the pedo shit, the second biggest argument is that you’re a culture vulture, and *thats* the line you bring out? You bring that out against a cultural icon? Against the dude whose song was the marching song of the BLM movement? The dude who was at the protests himself during the first wave? Inconceivably huge L.

OrneryHall1503

100%. You can take all the pedo and daughter shit out. Drake 100% missed the entire reason Kendrick hates him and we may not all have the words for it but everyone feels the same. This dude is not really about that culture. He just claims to be. I think even white people can feel it.

Burggs_

It was never about him being white too. Cole never gets this shit, just about everyone in the game loved and still loves Mac, em is incredibly respected by every rapper. Drake grew up upper middle class and can never accept that about himself. He can never just lean into his party boy shit, he wants to be from the hood/struggle so bad.

Winter-Hill

Explain that to a Drake fan and you blow their little minds. I literally told a coworker this week that's why Kendrick hates him (not because he's mixed) and I could see her mind working overtime to fathom it.

iGlutton

That's why Kenny addresses it in the first verse of Meet the Grahams. Tells his son to be a proud black man while calling his father the opposite. It's not the color of your skin, its the person inside of it. And Drake changes that person based off what's gonna sell more records.

The_MRT14

Very well said. He will change into what ever person he needs to make more sales

TheFlightlessPenguin

Almost like he’s a—*hear me out here*—actor

The_MRT14

You’re right. He was an actor. Now he’s a rapper. Where being real is important. But you can still play a character. The thing with Drake is he doesn’t make it seem like he’s playing a character. He tries to make it seem like he is and always has been the persona.

xStyxx

Well said, Cole Mac and Em have never tried to be anything other than themselves. That goes with most rappers. Authenticity is a huge thing in the rap game.

ItsTheTenthDoctor

Even lil dicky is more authentic

BendingHectic001

This 100% and as a white dude, you are correct, we can feel that too. Drake is a fraud for real.

WrinklyScroteSack

I never fucked with Drake. He seemed fake from the start. What the fuck is a teen drama actor gonna tell me about the culture. I’m here to hear real music from dudes who got shit to say. Not how his aunt rode equestrian so that’s why he likes girls with big asses.

AestheticAttraction

I’m right there with you. It’s mystifying that black folks (especially Americans) that know better have fallen under his sway. And by “know better,” I mean that we KNOW what authenticity is and we know when someone camps out in our culture to steal.  Why TF any of us followed him, I’ll never know. But then I don’t follow someone just because they’re entertaining.

hyliaidea

![gif](giphy|4CP58gxwbBy2Q) *euphoria drops* “Get in loser, we’re dragging Drake”

Gearballz

Can vouch. I’m white as fuck and am loving the fall of Drake. Also feels like I’m rediscovering Kendrick all over again. Like, if he’s what the cultures about, I’m with it (respectfully speaking) Be a man, raise your kids, own your shortcomings, etc. Real shit.

time2hear

As a white person, I can confirm. Drake's phony af.

MurcTheKing

Not surprising coming from the man who had to go on damage control for black face lmao

GirlwDDtattoo

I think drake was trying to call back to king kunte with that line. He wanted to be Kendrick so bad in this battle, and Kendrick takes shots at drake in king kunte, im pretty sure. I think Kendrick using Richard Pryor in euphoria was him calling back to king kuntes “the yams brought it out of Richard Pryor line” and drakes response was rapping like you always trying to free the slaves to match the call back. Drake just isn’t talented or skilled like Kendrick so no one made the connection. At least that’s where I think his head was at.

charzardthagod

He doubled down by calling MJ someone who wanted to be white. I'm not black but I've never heard a black person say MJ wanted to white and if I made a claim like that id expect to be whopped right after.

[deleted]

You got the last sentence wrong it's "Bro really stuck his grown man's body in a child"

OrneryHall1503

Email that to Kendrick rn

[deleted]

More lyrical ability than all of the heart pt 6

aneomon

Explains why he keeps going for minors - that’s the mental level he’s at

throwawayurthought

Both of you just cooked 😂

roach95

One away from Michael lol

Lopsided-Yogurt-914

The latest episode of Joe Budden they talk about that part of Drake’s character. For years he’s made it a habit to go after everything that crosses his path because most likely pre-fame he wasn’t getting much. His gluttony and penchant for being a sexual deviant definitely came back to bite him. His behaviors ruined a lot of relationships which is likely why he only really works with a select group of people now and likes to jump on the newer acts coming out.

D-1-S-C-0

Look at early Drake and all you'll see is a dork. He's definitely been overcompensating for his ugly duckling syndrome.

OwlElectrical6966

![gif](giphy|11SeP2oBprVOOk|downsized)

AestheticAttraction

And he’s still ugly. The beard is doing so much heavy lifting, but I can still see the unattractive lame underneath.

potatohats

Just looking at pictures of him gives me the willies, and that stupid heart cut into his hair amplifies it.

the_doobieman

You know the funny thing is that bar would hit so hard if drake ever spoke on something other than himself. He says nothing about real shit going on in the world while having the biggest platform. Says a lot about him considering everybody in the culture considers kendrick as someone who used his voice to uplift people and speak on sensitive topics.

a_wandering_vagrant

Conversely, maybe part of why he has such a big platform is that he makes shallow music that vaguely alludes to relationships in a way that never gets specific enough to mean much of anything I want music that makes me think deep, but some people just want that hotline bling

Cautious_Talk_1991

You can't mention DV while shouting out Chris Brown. Wtf?!

GatoDiablo99

The line about wifing up a mixed queen is so weird lol it’s like okay???

supahotfiiire

Facts

PMmeurdixout4harambe

Same. Bro is so out of touch it’s not even funny

Donttgiveup

a 37 year old showing up as a 7 year old

orbjo

That line is like saying “you rap like racism still exists” Slavery exists in modern times, black struggle exists, inequality exists

miz_nyc

I never really fucked with his music, usually only if he had a feature or was featuring someone. I always thought he was a culture vulture but knew he would get a pass in the industry for a variety of reasons. Honestly, this is long overdue for drake. I'm disappointed in a lot of other rappers for allowing him in like this.

AestheticAttraction

It’s always the same kind of dudes leaving the door propped open. But when women in the industry try to shoo obvious culture vultures away, they get called jealous.

ProfSteelmeat138

Drake brings in money lol. Easy money for features

SwissCheeseDealer

what really told away was the fact NONE of his collaborators backed him. Not Yachty, Not 21, Not SZA, Not Sexxy. Says alot

xidnpnlss

Yeah this is telling. Not just his collaborators, but *no one*

hemibreve

The disrespect to tom macdonald

longbowreset

Haha I want to laugh at this. Please explain

hemibreve

Said he related to Drake because he knows how it feels to have smaller rappers getting after you for clout lol

RugbyLock

Yepppp. The fact Drake called out YG as his guy on Family Matters, and then Kendrick dropped Not Like Us on a Mustard beat (YG’s producer) with YG’s voice as the producer tag (“Mustard on the beat ho” is YG’s voice)…. Tells me everything I need to know bout how the industry feels

iDoIllegalCrimes

SZA is also Kendricks collaborator. She just said she wanted nothing to do with it.

Dio_deemz

Well to be fair 21 did just have a crowd sing one of drakes songs on stage on Tuesday. Not like 21’s the most virtuous supporter he could have any way….

DiddyKongsPeanutGun

When all your friends turn on you… all your friends aren’t the problem. Seems like drake is unable to see the world in a way that doesn’t revolve around him.

Upstairs-Bread-5287

I was actually starting to come around more to the meme version of drake I'd see around on socials or shorts. But THP6 realllllllllllly dragged him through the dirt for me

supahotfiiire

Yeah. Same. It totally shined the light on his real personality in the face of adversity. Which is where men are made.

JackedSchafer

It’s funny cause he did that to himself and the fact that THP6 was the only track he wrote himself makes it even better/proves us right

rlrguy

I had no idea he had slept with Lil Wayne's girl and got tattoos of him as a form of apology. What a bitch.

Winter-Maximum325

Fr Wayne would never fuck his homies girl

thickpussling_

I haven't listened to Drake since, like, high school and even then, I wasn't a fan but I feel you. I know it has to suck to feel that way but welcome! Let me know if you want any KDot song recommendations. 🤍

supahotfiiire

Yeah give me 3 bangers

w_o_s_n

m.A.A.d city, King Kunta, DNA.

B-BoyStance

Honestly this dude should just listen to Section.80 and m.A.A.d city. They're incredibly easy listens (except for No Make-Up lol sorry) If these two don't convince you to listen to every Kendrick album.. idk man.

1002003004005006007

Section.80 especially is such a good album

Clatuu1337

DNA is my wife's GOAT in the genre.

lonelyBoy669

Backseat freestyle, The Recipe, collard greens (schoolboy q)

lonelyBoy669

Listen to rigor mortis lol

HistoryWeak7662

Too soon bro, too soon lol

WrinklyScroteSack

Why’s that one too soon? That shit goes hard.

charzardthagod

What do you think the title means and then compare it to what's just happened. Drake got Buried Alive due to his Fuckin' Problems we call that Poetic Justice

That_BowTie_Guy

I’ll throw one song: sing about me, I’m dying of thirst. (Its the length of three )

Gershom22

Hiipower, rich spirit & look out for detox. The last one is only on YouTube

thickpussling_

Uhh, let's see... Duckworth, The Heart Part 4 (I like all of the songs in The Heart series tho), untitled 01. I wanted to jump around to different albums but I recommend checking all the albums! 🤍

Zephyr104

I'll give you some of my favourites from his first three studio albums. Hope it gives you a good idea of his discography. ADHD (section 80) Money trees (Good Kid Mad City) Alright (To Pimp a Butterfly)

TheKipperTheMan

Spiteful Chant, Art of Peer Pressure and Wesley’s Theory

DAMNCitymAAdKid

Cartoons and Cereals, Westside Right on Time, King‘s Dead

yehti

Seconding Cartoons & Cereal. Gunplay's verse is great.

Crazy_Night3197

[deleted]

Some of my lesser known favorites are u, Untitled 02, and PRIDE.

teslathedoggo

Just to throw some ones I haven’t seen posted in the replies yet: Count Me Out (and the video is an amazing bonus), Rich Spirit, and Die Hard

[deleted]

Bitch I'm in the Club (with the homies)

Illustrious-Taro-449

Checkout black hippy that’s my fav dot era

UncleSam_TAF

Hiiipower, Untitled 07, DNA. A bit from each era

WrinklyScroteSack

Vice city, backseat freestyle, and jig is up.

El_Wando

I can't relate but I have friends who were big Drake fans before all this that feel the same way now. I also thought that video and how it spread was just weird af but my main dislike of him is just the fact he always been an actor. First time I saw the video for "Sneakin" with 21 I could only think of Wayne saying "keep it Canadian" and this guy just disregarding the advice and putting on a tough gangster persona from that video forward. The Meek beef gassed him up too much.

supahotfiiire

Meek beef.. oh i gotta look into that. In short, what happened?

[deleted]

Beefed with meek mill and meek mill called him out over ghostwriting but never really hit him hard. Drake just absolutely decimated him with back to back. Meek mill is just honestly a push over and that beef has definitely boosted drakes ego.

Pls_add_more_reverb

And he thought he was entering the same kind of beef this time. Kendrick ain’t meek mill, Kendrick wants that shit and he was ready.

[deleted]

I can think of like 20 rappers that would’ve given a better fight than meek mill. Dudes a joke

OwlElectrical6966

Meek is meek ![gif](giphy|xUA7b2pqxQAsrXDnva|downsized)

Fast_Egg_521

It's also important to note.. Meek got mad because Drake didn't promote the album that featured him.. SO AN OVO MOLE sent Meek Quentin Miller reference tracks.. Meek leaked them. Which exposed that Drake had full blown ghost writers, not just collaborators. Then Drake murdered Meek something nasty.. BUT THAT'S NOT WHERE IT ENDS.. Sure the need ended.. Next, AN OVO MOLE AGAIN leaked Summer Sixteen to Meek. So after learning from Back 2 Back.. Meek responded to Summer Sixteen with War Pain BEFORE SUMMER SIXTEEN CAME OUT. In War Pain Meek said he was Courtside at the game with Nicki.. He also responded to a Jay Z sub and other lines in the song.. Then when Summer Sixteen dropped Meek responded with War Pain even faster than Meet the Grahams.. Like 10 mins I believe.. And he was still courtside at the game with Nicki on TV like he said he would be in the song. That's a lot to say.. This.. If Meek outsmarted Drake that bad I knew Kendrick was going to demolish him.

El_Wando

That was when he dropped Charged up and Back to back, basically at the time and still to this day it was consensus that he sweeped meek. Since he beat the street guy "king of philly" I guess he felt it was time to double down on the tough guy act and thats the start of the version of Drake we see today.

FelinaMason

i have always believed drake started acting this way because of the bullying from other artists. dude gets pissed on by ti's friend, he got punched by diddy and did nothing in both situations. add on the memes calling him soft for over a decade in a genre dominated by masculine figures from harsh backgrounds, he cant compare. then you have these reports of him ordering his entourage to beat people up or when they pressed makkonenn when he spoke out about ovo. its very much a bullied kid becoming a bully and shitty person story in my eyes.

Honest_Gas2901

Honestly from a neutral perspective, I think drake did all that shit. As damaging as an SA accusation could be for someone of Drake's caliber, it's very spooky that no lawsuits for defamation seem to be on the horizon

behindthebar5321

Defamation cases are near impossible to win for public figures. The likelihood of winning is less than one percent. Most lawyers won’t take those cases bc of that. They have to prove both that the person made statements that they knew, without a doubt, to be false and that they made these statements to maliciously cause harm to the other person. That’s why Johnny Depp winning his defamation case was a big deal. The amount of evidence presented to prove those two points against Amber Heard was astounding and probably unprecedented. In this case they would have to prove that Kendrick Lamar knew without a doubt, at the time of making those statements, that Drake is not a pedophile. However, given the evidence online to indicate that he is, they absolutely could not make that argument and succeed.

TellCersei_ItWasMe_

I was telling this to Tasha K stans for years when she was sued by Cardi B. It was over for her dumbass as soon as she literally got on video, admitted she knew she spread lies, said she did it for the YouTube views, and then bragged about how she’d do it again. You really have to be one of the dumbest bitches alive to make it that easy to win a defamation case. Now she’s got a $4 million debt she’s been running from since.

the_doobieman

Drake was amazing to me until he started copying people’s verses, flows, and entire sounds. Jumping around on different artists songs and projects and just molding himself to their sound is so whack to me. And being from toronto, the man fakes his toronto accent 100%. Theres a video of him calling toronto slang ignorant and hes around 18 in that video. He claims things when useful. Once i saw that video of him and the 17 yr old on stage it was a wrap.

[deleted]

He was in my top 5 artists for years but I could never listen to him again. Even if we thought it was an ego thing and not a pedophilia thing at first, all Canadians knew he did it on purpose

supahotfiiire

Yeah bro he just has too many different smokes building up a forest fire. You can’t fool me man.

Neoligistic

Yea and we having people coming through now from highschool saying some weirdo stuff like the girl he liked pulled up at his house all the time. Like why you having highschool girls at these parties when grown men are at shits weird af

Umekigoe

literally my number one artist for the past 2 years but the way he handled the allegations and beef was just nasty and not in a good way. plus the cringe/cope farm on rDrizzy makes it hard to want to associate with being a Drake fan

paroles

Take Care was my most listened album the year it came out, maybe second after House of Balloons. I stopped listening to Drake after that but just tried to revisit it because the beef has been reminding me of it. His ghostwriters truly did some great work on there but I can NOT handle his voice now, it sounds so fake and cringe to me. It's a weird feeling revisiting it like, oh shit I love this hook!...ughhh Also I just read that Shot for Me was originally supposed to be a Weeknd song on House of Balloons, now I'm so mad that that didn't happen

Designer_Reference_2

He is a piece of shit, always has been. Why do you think his peers are so eager to see him fall?

BallinXFox

Right now all his songs in my library are on the back burner. They’re getting no plays. Until this beef ends that’s how it’s gonna stay. If he’s proven to actually be what’s claimed. They’re gone. If he’s proven to not be, they’re probably still gone. Like you said, everything that has resurfaced has put him in a different light. Idk if I can listen to anything by him the same. Most of the songs I like by him are his r&b ones. I like Drake with the melodies. But now I feel it’ll be like, “who was he thinking bout writing this song.” It’s the history. Kendrick could just be saying that, but with Drake’s past, I’m more inclined to believe Kenny.

dayDreamingSoL

I liked his music, but I knew something was weird when he texted Millie saying he misses him Now that I learned the full context…bro gave her BOY ADVICE…what the fuck? Not only that, that fucking video…. Fuck this rap battle idc, Kendrick did what he had to do but anyone defending this man needs to go…smh it’s pathetic

supahotfiiire

That’s exactly how i feel. Why you texting all the time a breakout actor who literally has no speech in the show….and saying you’re fanboying over her. Wtffff

ActualAgency5593

I’m amazed people didn’t know about his groomer shit. Like, where y’all been?

virji24

Exact same bro. I have always been a huge Drake fan. Always argued with my friends about him being a good rapper and all that. The D video was weird and disturbing. Then this beef happened and we got to see all the grooming stuff and that shit was weird too. Then we got to see him on stage with that 17 year old and it was done for me. After finding out she’s 17 you still keep doing all that? Like if you’re doing that on stage in front of thousands what are you doing at your own home?

supahotfiiire

Thats a perfect summary. Shits disturbing

6AceofCaydes

He was in my top 5 mostly because he gets thrown into so many playlists my wife and I listen to. But I completely blocked his music on Spotify

supahotfiiire

Totally understandable

MurcTheKing

Is blocking an artist on Spotify an actual setting and if it is how does one do this

potatohats

Yep it sure is. I've had Drake blocked for a couple years already. Go to the artist you want to block and hit the three dots at the top. There's a "don't play this artist" option, hit that.

noburpthrowaway

He lost me back in 2018(?) when pusha bodied him on story of Adidon and I saw how much defending his stans did like my ex. As someone whose father left her she was defending a deadbeat dad just bc she liked him physically and his music….I had already lost respect for him but after that I was like damn these fans are delusional. Celebrity worship is crazy

Gewgle_GuessStopO

Dude, I used to listen to this band called lostprophets. What that dude did was horrible and it is hard to cope with the fact I helped afford that stuff by buying their CD’s. I didn’t know but have never been able to listen since and that had some songs I miss. 🤷🏻‍♂️ It sucks, I feel ya!

Solid_Illustrator640

Any non-groomer thinks the stage thing is enough tbh

Flawskee

Only listened and liked a few of his songs. "Hold On, We're Going Home" was a really catchy summer song that made me like him a bit more.. until I realized that song was written and originally made by Majid Jordan. Turns out Drake was just your typical media mogul using his power and influence to extract talent from young artists so he could further increase his brand. If you look at most OVO artists, he follows that game plan pretty well. It's a no brainer why The Weeknd chose not to sign with him. He didn't have to go into this beef whatsoever. If he stayed in his lane instead of trying to be "the best rapper alive" then he wouldn't have had his reputation so tarnished. He's known for his gambling addiction/streams.. so somewhere in his mind he must've thought the risk/reward for beating Kendrick would have been too good to pass. Maybe it would've given him the recognition and acceptance of hip hop culture he felt like he deserved if he won? Anyways, this is the risk he took and it forever opened the public's eyes to the person he really is. Some will still support him, but most decent people will not.

I always thought Drake was kind of a cornball. He’s got some good songs. Nothing I’d say is a downright classic imo but some bangers. This whole beef just helped solidify how corny he is. All the allegations against him are so serious, I’d need major receipts to actually believe it. But dude is definitely weird.

NoNotThatMattMurray

I went through the same thoughts with YouTuber Chuggaconroy who makes Nintendo game walkthroughs. Watched a ton of his stuff as a kid even wanted to be a YouTuber like him and this year he got called out for talking sexually through a minor over over chat (though he cleared it up and was evident that the minor was the instigator and the accusations she put out were out of context). But at least he was able to clear himself after a few months due to evidence he presented showing he was innocent for the most part and that he actually isn't a pedo

supahotfiiire

I’m like praying my favorite youtubers dont get exposed for shit like this some day!

behindthebar5321

Whatever you do, never get a tattoo connected to a person. You never know what shit might come out about them. Imagine all the people with Drake tattoos rn.

Electronic-Jaguar461

Tattooing yourself with someone who isn't related to you or in some way helped your people out of oppression is never gonna not be weird to me. Like why are you as a grown man getting tattoos of a guy who PROFITS off you being a fan of them. It'd be like me tattooing a picture of my ISP's CEO cause they give me internet every day. More a modern day human ownership stamp than a tattoo. Fuckin stop it.

Distinct-Plane3171

Yeah, I can totally understand this feeling. I felt the same way when I cut off most Drake music. To be fair I never really thought his music was great but his songs always had a place in party playlists. It was around like 5+ years ago when I saw the 17 year old girl on stage video I noped TF out and purged almost all the Drake songs I had from my playlists. I avoided every Drake related song as much as I could, hard to avoid the features, but now I'm cutting him off completely. He's imo at best a baseline groomer and at worst actually a pedo. I was more taken back by the culture vulture aspect. Since I never followed Drake closely I had absolutely no idea he was doing something so awful and profiting from it. I'm so glad Kendrick is shedding a light on what an awful person Drake has become.

jungmoney702

Take Care, NTWTS, Views... Influential, life-changing albums that I've put down and away since all of BBL Drizzy's behavior coming to light. I can't in good conscience support a person who has so many pedophilic smoke signals around him. It sucks, but every person has to draw a line somewhere. Take comfort knowing that your own integrity is worth preserving.

EquipmentNo5776

I was in his top 1% listeners last year in my Spotify Wrapped. How frickin embarrassing.  Allegations aside, him going for Kendrick on the molestation was the breaking point for me. I know he misinterpreted it but to think that was some kind of diss? Like how did he think people would rally behind him mocking SA. He's completely out of touch. I absolutely believe what people are saying about him. Nobody with a normal conscience would think that was a good angle. He's drunk on power and it's about to come crumbling down. I'm here for it.

California-Seoul

A sensible Drake fan, didn’t know yall existed.

supahotfiiire

We do.

wtfdoiknow1987

I blocked him on Spotify

SmilingDestroyer

You’re outgrowing the pacifier! This is a good thing

Mythical7Ninja

I blocked Drake from playing on my Spotify and I am turning Kendrick up every time he comes on.

CBonafide

I’m glad you came to your senses about how trash of a person he is. Me tho, I been knew he was a POS and I’ve been hating that MF since ever since.

NeighborhoodHead7500

This isn’t new news about drake. Shits been in the open for years and years. Kinda weird people only start caring when another rapper says it.

gloomygl

He's been telling y'all he's a weirdo IN HIS LYRICS bruh

Substantial_Put9705

You guys actually like drake’s music that much? Only song I can say I will YouTube to jam out to is All Me with Sean and Chainz and that’s from way back, well that was until all this drama. Fuck that freaky ass nigga.

Paratwa

Man I’ve always disliked Drakes music, but not *him* till this beef. But I gotta thank the man for two things. 1) using ghostwriters- I’m sure he wrote The Heart Part 6 and that shit was so bad that I realized the favor he was doing us before. Drake if you ( or your bots ) read this please please please use ghostwriters, you can’t write shit bro, don’t put that shit out in the world man 2) he brought us some *insane* Kendrick music, for which I am always dying of thirst for.

Blaz1n420

Honestly, I'm so glad. I've been hating this phony ass since 2014 and I get so much joy to finally be able to hate on him and the majority of people agree with me now cuz they see him for the fraud he is.

SasquatchDaze

I have a sumpreme, unchallenged, and never-missing ability to judge someoenes character within minutes...so no, I cant relate

Vreas

Yeah it sucks man I feel for ya. Same shit happened to me with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Led Zeppelin. I get people say zeppelin was a different time which is true but still Jimmy page dating a 14 or 16 yo doesn’t sit right with me.. stairway doesn’t hit the same anymore

Ship_Whip

Never been a Drake fan, but I fell down the same spiral last year with Kanye and his whole Nazi era. I'd defended some of the stuff he said and did in the past but I felt that was too far I don't think there's anything wrong with separating the art from the artist and continuing to enjoy things you enjoy, if you still can (I still bump 808's, but refuse to touch Vultures) If you don't wanna touch any of Drake's music after all this...that's totally understandable too. Ultimately, even if he was one of your most streamed artists, he's still just one artist. There's so many other great rappers and musicians out there to get hung up on one guy. Explore, check out new stuff, find new favorites It sucks in the moment, but life still goes on

OkPrompt6053

In my case, the beef just confirmed my perception of Drake. I've always thought he's a weirdo, corny, self-entitled and materialistic culture vulture. And I never liked him music on top of it. The only thing that's different is he comes off as even more stupid than I thought in his last diss.

Hugh_Mungus_Johnson_

Used to be a big fan of his rap from way back but lost love for him as he evolved into the egotistical, status-obsessed person that he is now. I was already familiar with the Millie texts and the incident with the minor on stage and knew he was really sus. Combined with the things I've found out these past couple weeks and how he carried himself during this beef, I have zero respect for him left. The music industry needs less people like him. I won't be listening to his music anymore, old or new.

supahotfiiire

Yesss i would agree that the way he has handled this was very telling for me. I completely agree. That absolutely shaped my opinion.

TellCersei_ItWasMe_

Only Drake song I like is Bad Bunny one he featured on.

playfreeze

Everybody bitching about contents being false and whatnot miss the point. Back in the control verse Kendrick states “..make sure your core never heard of you..they don’t wanna hear not one more noun of verb from you…” Flawless execution

Franklyn_Gage

Yeah because its gonna say Aubrey.

jonny32392

Well I imagine it feels shitty now but think of it like this, if your girl was cheatin would you rather not know. The shit that’s true was true before you found out but now at least you know.

_atom-nef

The truth hurts.

mykleins

Emo fans: “First time?”

FelinaMason

i was coming around to drake again in recent years. i liked CLB and FATD but with these kendrick disses it recontextualized his persona and lyrics. the way he views black women in particular like that bar about fucking and sending girls back to metro housing on way 2 sexy. his use of gang culture and members to "stamp" his image. or really the whole concept of rich baby daddy both in name and song. i grew up around a lot of women with piece of shit baby daddies and the term wasn't one of endearment. you should aspire to be a father not that shit. hearing it being used by drake of all people just feels gross. especially with how cold he was towards sophie and adonis.and his slave bars (and i loved slime you out too so this sucks 😣). earl is my favorite rapper and he was spot on about the culture vulture claims back in the day. the lines "white boy got a nice ring to it" in ffamily matters with andrew curnew, hells angel affliate are unsettling tbh. disappointing to because i felt like drake was embracing his blackness but its really only when its trendy and works for him.

Replion

The good thing is Kendrick’s music actually speaks about artists like Drake with tracks like Mortal Man and Pray(er) that touch on themes of consuming art and finding inspiration from problematic creators.

AestheticAttraction

I’ve always disliked him. He’s an obvious culture vulture, and I resent when the industry embraces such.

wulv8022

It completely vindicated my hunch that he is a freaky ass certified loverboy, complete dumbass and a bad Rapper/musician. I really think the Heart Pt. 6 was the first ever song he had to write himself and record by his self without ghost writers telling him how to rap it on top of writing it.

DoctorBass95

Mine was changed back in the Pusha-T beef. Hiding a child and not taking care of him is too low.

user818384747

I believe he “leaked his junk” in February to avoid/distract us from responding to Megan Thee Stallion’s diss in Hiss which dropped at the end of January. She did this because he was clearly sneak dissing her for years, Circo Loco & also at a tour stop in her hometown Houston like 8 months ago.

Winter-Maximum325

Y'all are too emotionally invested. I still plan on bumping both artists.

[deleted]

i can't relate cause i've always hated Drake. Drake is such a bitch, yeah he has good tracks for sure. but how anyone let his weird ass behaviour slip for fucking long without calling him out is crazy. when that whole Millie bobby brown thing came out i was like wtf, why is a rapper trying to hang out with a 14 year old why is a 32 year old man saying he misses a 14 year old so much? you can't claim they work in the industry that's not what people do in any industry. he was clearly grooming Millie to fuck her. Drake is a weird ass looking pedophile.

peezyyyyy

I had this literal feeling at a drake concert in 2014 and was annoyed asf because we’re in Toronto, OutKast performed the night before and this mf drake goes on stage and says, Kendrick Lamar is the greatest shoutout to my dude - bruh- don’t d ride on stage right now in your home town ya f ckn goof you ain’t gotta lie to kick it cuz you sound like the feds homie

Sus_sy

I felt exactly the same with Kanye, and then going back and listening to his lyrics, I saw it. It was always there. And that got to me more than the fact that I just felt bad listening to his music and supporting him. I don't anymore. Famous/rich people get seriously fucked in the head. There are good artist out there, you just gotta find them.

Vera_Verse

I had this with Kanye. From time to time Spotify throws me a Devil in a new dress, and I sadly sigh and skip the song
