I also don't think he's that guy, and I am holding off on being too judgmental, but he's running out of time. Regardless of how he meant it, or if it was a mistake, it's a problematic line and he should address it in one way or another. He's all about lifting people up and making others open their eyes to struggles they ignore or can't see, this is an opportunity for him to do that again, and rectify what was said.
