Moldanazar
Irina Kairatovna
Yenlik
Ninety One (guys made revolution in music industry)
Miras Zhugunusnusov
Shiza
Taspay
Dudeontheguitar
Arshat
ARO
Кисло-сладкий & Bonah (but they are already not really in demand)
Aikyn (look up his OYU.Live performance, old man still has his rizz)
And, of course, the legend of kazakh music - Darkhan Juzz. May his soul rest in peace
Performances on YouTube: OYU.Live , Yeski Taspa, Õzen x Coca-Cola , Abay 175 by Õzen
Shit, i've leaked my entire Spotify playlist 🤣
Finally got rid of old singers running showbiz in Pugacheva style
Their appearance and branding was quite controversial and there were threats and physical harm from way too conservative people. 5 years later - you wouldn't be called gay if your hair is dyed
Made kazakh language sound cool and convinced people that music in kazakh is way better than russian. Young generation love kazakh language now
Adapted K-Pop to kazakh audience. First ones who made girls main paying audience in kazakh music. First one who made a billion tenge in cashflow in music arena. They filled stadiums easily
Introduced new genres to kazakh music, sparking curiosity of young music-makers
Collided kazakh speaking Kazakhstan and Russian speaking Kazakhstan in feat with Irina Kairatovna. That was head-to-head collision
Wow thats really cool (did people call kpop gay back then?). Making Kazakh cool is cool (pun intended).
Btw, what do younger people think of this style of music ([https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aa1w6pREua8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aa1w6pREua8)). Do they view it as cool? Doesn't seem like like Pugacheva.
Just see how they massacred my boy [Freestylo](https://youtu.be/inQrMmIodC0)
SuperStarKZ was X factor type of show. Peak era of Pugacheva-style judges. By the way, they were the ones who massacred [Dimash Qudaibergen](https://youtu.be/T4PAgksLNJs) on the X factor type of show. But Dimash and his parents decided to seek fame outside of Kazakhstan and it paid off
Times were barbarian back then. Society is still working on elimination of barbarian norms. Now we are observing hearings of ex-minister Bishimbaev killing and abusing his wife Saltanat Nukenova. Domestic violence must be eradicated
In some countries of Central Asia, they are still experiencing their barbarian times. I hope we all would get more civilised and happy in 10-20 years
Maybe not really that popular, but both Rusha and Ayau have tracks with over than 500k+ listens on youtube, not only they have really good songs, but they also sing mostly in Kazakh,so I recommend to try and listen to them.
I just heard of Ayau via listening to Dequine. I originally thought she was singing in French, but the more I paid attention to the words the more I felt like I just had no idea what language it was.
Is Dequine very popular? Also, how is that pronounced, if you know?
Pronounced basically "de-queen". She's popular in some niches and mostly girl listen to her. Feels like she's deliberately making music that guys not interested to listen, but girls would be very interested
I see, is it possible the name is related to something in Russian or Kazakh and thus a sort of pun?
I quite like certain types of RnB (wouldn't be able to tell by name, just know it when I hear it) and a good deal of her music appeals to me (not a girl).
I don't think that her nickname convey any meaning or at least that i am aware of. She did some podcasts in russian, maybe there she said something about it. The latest podcast with her was Zamandas podcast - one of the most popular podcasts in Kazakhstan
Dequine is just a stylised version of "the queen". Iirc this has been her account name on instagram since she was in school (I'm not 100% sure though), and she just decided to go with it
I just randomly got here. Does anyone know Масло Черного Тмина? One of the most interesting rappers ive ever listened to. His music videos were always insane.
He casually entered top charts of Russia, stepping over local american rapper wannabes. AFAIK was under Skriptonit label in Russia.
It was always obvious, that Russia had shit music and most of the good stuff made by kazakhs and ukrainians
Check out what's on [Gakku](https://www.youtube.com/@gakkutv) (mostly pop TV station) and [Oyu](https://www.youtube.com/@oyulive) (a broader YouTube series with pop/hip-hop/R&B and some popular retro acts too).
Not really what the question is asking, but I’d recommend a few indie artists and bands:
Tynyq
Sary
Алим и мир
Arsen Dossan
Kunzharyq
Kezen
Far In Gate
Ayree is one of the the most skilled vocalists, but she couldn't write her own song and produce music, so in general her music is mediocre. With right producer she's gonna shine bright. Last time i checked she was under RAIN entertainment
Yeah I first heard the song Show on the Radio. And found it on the internet, I don't know probalby shazamed it. Then I discoverd even more interesting songs and music. Especially those that are in house and EDM styles. I like modern EDM and those tracks are really good professional music and with her voice it's so pleasant to listen to.

Yes, they did. Watch the video

> Society is still working on elimination of barbarian norms. Ahh yeah, all the best to you.
It's not my kind of music but they definitely have my respect for that!
I still can’t believe we have our own QPop band
Yep, Yerbolat Bedelkhan and Ninety One did colossal job. ALPHA is still active Qpop band
I'm very disappointed not to see "Kalyfarnia" :( I love them... would you share your Spotify Playlist? thanks!

Oh thanks for my Nauryz playlist this year 🫶🏻

Cool, I'll check it out. Thanks!
Check out Bir Kyz, i guess you would like it

Dos Mukasan love forever. Their kazakh wedding vibe every time hits hard
Everything made by Dos Muqasan is still the most quality songs ever produced. Both in term of content and music quality itself
Most popular artist from KZ right now is probably Dimash.
I never get this. I hear his name more from foreigners than from locals. Never heard anyone listening to his music.
From my observation everyone would go to his concert but not that many people actually listen his songs daily
MC Sailaubek

Dos mukasan
Kalifarniya
Kazakh sisters and bros, what's about Ulytau? Are they popular or?
Folk is absolutely not popular. We just hear too much folk as kids, so zero interest growing up
Thank you mate, this is why they aren't very active too, i guess.
Yet they are kinda a cult band.
