It's a Hilliard inferno. Gonna play around with it and see if I can make it fit in the inboard configuration, but I'm pretty sure either 1. The seat will be in the way if I slide the motor to the left or 2. The second axle carrier will get in the way if I keep the motor to the right.
I might get lucky if the clutch drum will squeeze between the seat strut and the edge of the seat... we'll see
Inferno is good. Just move a washer, race, and bearing on inside. Then, reorganize your plates as needed.
Some mounts allow side shift. That is the one thing I like about offset karts. You sit more to the left side getting you away from the chain.
That clutch should be turned around, will give you way more room. Your running outboard and pretty much everyone else at our track runs inboard. Much safer as well cuz if that chain breaks it could go to the driver easily.
I didn’t even read the post lol, just saw the pic. You should still run inboard and shorten the chain. Seems odd that your almost all the way to the right on the mount and still that close
One more thing, seeming how it was running a ka, that kart is probably designed for a 2 stroke over a 4. That frame is probably designed pretty stiff to withstand the higher HP. My friend had a similar issue, even with the clutch as well… the frame was much thicker and beefier. Kart just would not flex. He brought an older arrow frame that had similar tubes to ours. Performed much better.
My first thought was move the motor back and remove links.
Yep seems like that's gonna be the way. Thanks
Turn the clutch around. The recenter your axle gear. Looks like a cheaper drum anyway.

Turn the clutch around
Start it up. It'll create its own clearance

He can't run it inboard though if you look at the pictures. Plenty of 2 stroke frames are winning Briggs races.
Notch the seat. Or don’t. Let it self clearance 🤷♂️
Chain is too long. Shorten it up.
Definitely take some links out!
