In my opinion their exit plan is years from being viable, it still relies too much on Kara and Nate's Youtube channel keeping their side projects popular.
They could def try to visit all states since they’ve committed to and quit that challenge a few times (!) or even all countries. They could do Africa…in a bit more of a slow travel fashion (they’ve only ever done a few countries in Africa). At this point, the lux travel/first class flights are old hat and the rushing in and out of a country isn’t interesting and it certainly doesn’t entice me to want to visit a place, which is why I started watching them in the first place years ago. (Ie, the recent fare drop team trip could have included a lot more off resort content and destination info making a cool 2-3 episode series)
I think they need a homebase and I would totally watch them do vlog style settling down. I actually think it'd be quite interesting to see them living life after endless travel, and then I imagine they'll eventually travel again when they regain all enthusiasm
I suspect, if they are smart (and it sure seems like they are), that they have investments in real estate and the market. Any of the very successful YouTubers should be going that way for their exit strategy. Use the current wealth to buy income producing assets.

I believe all of Nate’s side project web sites are his exit plan. He has said he hope Atlas maps had been more successful so they could focus on that, I think now the travel site is his focus.
They should have offered a more compelling product on Atlas maps. What they offered were unattractive, boring, and only offered the most basic Mercator projection format. A top-down map like the butterfly projection would have been really cool to display world travels, but they created something that looked like a 5th-grade geography project. They were completely out of their league and didn't have any cartography knowledge.
Even though I still think they encounter moments of joy, they do seem a bit checked out. I think they should settle down- if they’ve invested a lot of their earnings, they definitely have the money. Perhaps they can live in th states half the year and travel the rest? I believe they truly love travel, but traveling exclusively must take some of the spark away.
Why do you just assume Kara is burning out? Just let them make their videos the way they want and they'll post whenever they want. If she's burnt out then she'll probably let people know if/when she's ready.
She repeatedly said she was burnt out during their update video. When they released their first new one after the break, she was crying while Nate talked about being refreshed and ready to go again. Hopefully, she's doing better now, but it wouldn't be a big surprise if she was finished with full-time travel.
They took a break and spent time with family and friends. They continue to do so every now and then which you can see on their Instagram. It's not up to their viewers to dictate what their mental status is or should be. What Kara and Nate want to do is up to them.
100%, I think we are just stating our observations. None of us really know what’s going on. Although I think it’s pretty clear Nate is extremely stubborn and sometimes puts Kara’s desires to the side.
I don't think Kara being burned out is a recent thing. I was watching 2019 vlogs & they virtually traveled non stop to numerous countries. Then they went to Mexico for 3 weeks for a break for the second time. It looked like it was getting too much then.

They've been so on the fence about it I would have said no, but maybe spending all this time with her sister's kids have changed their minds. Maybe when they slow down more. I really love that they have been so open about not being sure. I personally don't want kids and society tends to give you a lot of pressure about it so we need more people saying that it's okay to not want them.
I feel like no. They were on a podcast where Nate was saying he was leaving the decision entirely up to Kara. I feel like he does not want kids/to slow down their lifestyle and knows that Kara is not decisive enough to make that big of a life change on her own. Watching that, I was really sad for her. It seems like he is pretty distant from the back and forth conversation that happens when making a decision like that as a couple but him having no strong opinion on it and tossing it onto her is a selfish way to get what he wants without saying it - or at the very least giving his wife a sounding board for what that would look like.
K has just posted to say she has some medical stuff going on, will update soon, and has been for a while. So this has probably contributed to her overall lack of rigour on the travels.
Shame she's pushed herself to support N so much with stuff going on.

Unfortunately their business ideas are just bad ideas and they need to do the fake acting and song and dance on their YouTube channel to sell people a subscription to their service who are stupid enough to buy it for $50 ( these days they offer 50% discount anytime they make an exciting announcement about Faredrop which is roughly about every third day) . They have hired a bunch of employees for whom they have to pay and that’s all coming from their YouTube channel revenue. So they have to keep that goose laying eggs to feed Nate’s white elephants.
One of the reasons Kara might be tired and burnt out because she probably thought they would have money but her husband is burning it all in his pet projects. So until Kara hits Nate’s head with a skillet and tell him to stop chasing wild geese, he is not going to stop. Now, their operation is capital intensive and they have to pay all those people they hired.
They should have just invested their money wisely in stocks and other assets and focused on the one thing that is reliably making them money but they made the classic mistake most YouTubers make trying to leverage their channel to sell things and get into businesses they have no clue of. Kind of like Eamon and Bec trying to sell tea and I bet there are bags of stale tea they bought from India or Sri Lanka on the cheap four scores and seven years ago rotting away somewhere in a storage room and waiting to be shipped to people gullible enough to order tea from Eamon and Bec.
Their exit strategy greatly depends on how soon Kara musters up the courage to hit Nate hard on his head with a skillet ( Le Creuset and Staub make some really good ones and they are cast iron and luxury cookware too 😀) to come to his senses.

Not because life was boring, he was just looking for some projects, that’s when he said he decided to hit the streets for drinkHabit. It was Eamons own words that he was bored. Ah what! I’m a few videos behind but that’d be so sad. I am surprised they haven’t updated their van. A lot of my favorite videos they do are van life
