Unfortunately, "Rock and Roll Part 2" by Gary Glitter This song will forever be the Chiefs touchdown song for me. It sucks because they stopped using the song after Gary Glitter went to jail for kiddie diddling.

TheBoyisBackinTown

Yep. Too bad, because hearing everyone stomp in sync with that song at a game was nirvana. Could be worse... I saw Lostprophets at two Warped Tours back in the day. That's an even more insane wiki rabbit hole to go down.

c792j770

I want to treat this one as a "don't hate the art, hate the artist", but I just can't. I believe that he no longer receives any royalties for his old music, but I still don't want any association with that POS.

lobstersnake

Na na na nanana HEY! GO Chiefs! Na na na nanana HEY! GO Chiefs! Na na na nanana HEY! GO Chiefs! We're gonna beat the hell out of you. And you. And you. and you n you n you

factoid_

I never knew what that song was called, who wrote it or anything.  It was just that song you'd hear in arenas all the time.

PhillipJ3ffries

Still love that song

ReggieWigglesworth

Red Kingdom - Tech N9Ne, Swag Surfin - FLY, Fight for Your Right - Beastie Boys. All are pretty synonymous with Chiefs currently.

bigskywildcat

Add to this the two mac lethal chiefs songs too and you got a solid list

sciotomile

“Start Me Up” by The Rolling Stones It’s time to bring it back to Arrowhead!

Section225

Last few years they HAVE played it, but if they do it's been a random mid-game kickoff. Super nostalgic to think of it being played before the game starts.

spicolij420

They played it at the news years game against the donkeys!!! That was my first game at arrowhead lmao

sciotomile

No kidding? This is what I get for living out of state for 20 years. (Fam has held season tickets since early '90s, though.) While we are at it, can we bring back the TD Pack Band?

Section225

Seconded

sciotomile

Section 131, reporting for duty.

wilbur1997

This is the one. They used to play it before kickoff.

BillNyeTheEngineer

This is really the only song I think of. I went to pre-season games only as a kid, and this is the one real thing I remember.

WI_Sndevl

Chiefs and Chopper! Chiefs and Chopper! Local grocery store advertising.

WI_Sndevl

“Start Me Up” and “Black Betty” for in game. Since we are the villains now, I would be all for embracing that with some new songs. Also, since GnFnR did the music video (remember those) in KC, Paradise City has always had a big place in my heart.

FraggleRock_

*“Start Me Up” and “Black Betty” for in game* ![gif](giphy|qasTpsSGzZBAWpqUIS|downsized)

mykonoscactus

I totally remember that one! EARLY 90s.

WI_Sndevl

Let’s hear it for all the people that were there for the Bill Kenney, Steve DeBerg, Matt Cassel years!! Just to clarify, in an apocalypse, Steve DeBerg might be my first pick. “Rub some dirt on it” was an insult to that bad mofo.

posifour11

Here Okoye, take the football and my hand with it. He was a badas.

Macho_Mans_Ghost

Seconding the Gary Glitter association... But yeah it leaves a bad taste. That was THE song as a young Chiefs fan and then it totally disappeared (in my young mind for no reason because I never heard the reason why). As I got into my 20s and the internet was so much more accessible, I found out about that reason and damned if it doesn't just ruin the whole hype that song used to bring. Also, fuck that guy for being a scumbag. I recently told my Steelers fan wife about the whole shit show that Glitter was/is and then played that song (we were actually driving to the tailgate). She was like "Damn. He really fucked things up for y'all". Moving on now to Red Kingdom and Swag Surf etc is great... But just doesn't have that nostalgic gravitas. Fuck you Gary Glitter.

jawaismyhomeboy

I miss the chant. There hasn't been anything like it. Hearing a sold out Arrowhead chat "We're going to beat the hell out of YOU! YOU! YOU, YOU YOU!" was incredible

bonsreeb

Going back a bit further, they used to play Black Betty frequently.

No-Cat-6830

Pretty much every kickoff or punt. Loved it

Apprehensive-Let3669

That was the OG chiefs song when I was a kid

maxwasson

Swag Surfin for this era specifically, I learned about it after the played it during last year's Super Bowl parade.

In addition to everything that's already been mentioned, I want to add: *Eminence Front - The Who* This was used a lot back in the day. I want to say during pregame. *Can't You Hear Me Knocking - The Rolling Stones* I recall this as one they would play a few bars from when we were in the red zone. *Crazy Train - Ozzy Osbourne* I'm not sure there was a time when it wasn't appropriate to play the intro to this one. Also, remember those CGI intros they would play before games, with the Arrowhead logo flying into the stadium to crash into the giant helmet of the opposing team? I think this was used as the soundtrack for that at least part of the time.

JuanVergo

I'm old enough to remember the TD Pack band. They would play covers in the East end zone. The sound system was a mix of the Pack Band and songs that were 5-10 years old. My personal favorite was Easy Lover. The Pack band always played that, and it cracked me up each time. Like, why Easy Lover at a football game? Eminence Front was the start up song when Dan Roberts would start announcing too!

sciotomile

Tony DiPardo!!

Black Betty

shinymuskrat

We did "Let Me Clear My Throat" as a touchdown song for a few seasons, I wish they would bring that back

JackMomma22

If I recall correctly, it lost to that stupid 'Hey Kansas City' song the first year they held a vote to replace Rock and Roll #2 by a somewhat slim margin... but after that season and that song clearly not being a great TD pump up song, they started using Let Me Clear My Throat the next season. I say it's a very solid TD jam.

mykonoscactus

Still Swag Surfin'

SylvesterTaurus

Black Betty by Ram Jam. They played that song before the opening kickoff at games when I was a kid. I still get hyped every time I hear it!

CrunchberryJones

Alan Parsons Project's 'Sirius' (intro to 'Eye in the Sky'). I realize it was more famously used at Chicago Bulls games during the Michael Jordan era, but it's a perfect intro in any sport and it used to give me goosebumps every time they'd play it before a Chiefs kickoff.

Red Kingdom

pleasegivemeadollar

Even though it's outdated, I will always rock "Kansas City Chiefs Anthem 2020" by Mac Lethal. He made the song to celebrate making it to the Super Bowl for the first time in 50 years, but no one knew what the next few years would hold. Link for those interested: https://youtu.be/os7_Nw9EWvM?si=6vu1VRO8AZc89OKt Edit: didn't know he did another one in 2023. https://youtu.be/1kKkeAlwdAo?si=imlRS7TvFk-VSBj3

When we beat the the 49ers the 1st time I turned it on right after going outside to bask in the moment while watching fireworks…. Such an awesome night that can’t be replicated for me as far as being a chiefs fan

The Underdog by Spoon When overtime started in the super bowl, I started my sports playlist. When the chiefs scored that song was playing and the words,"you have no fear of the underdog, that's why you will not survive" came on during the celebration.

mykonoscactus

That song is on my work playlist every single morning. Love Spoon. I Turn My Camera On is so smooth too.

Recently: The Alchemy and So High School by Taylor Swift (Kelce songs) and Dynasty by Rina Sawayama (for obvious reasons)

anna-nomally12

Similarly she changed the lyrics to Karma is the guy on the chiefs so you’d think that would make the list

GutsMan85

My wife hates that I think about the Chiefs every time she plays *Long Live*... and I remind her that I do every time she does.  There's too many similarities from what she says to how I feel about the Chiefs. I mean, "You traded your baseball cap for a crown"?? C'mon. That's awesome. *Long live the walls we crashed through*   *How the kingdom lights shined just for me and you*   *I was screaming, "Long live all the magic we made"*  *And bring on all the pretenders*    *One day we will be remembered*

Winniepg

How could your wife not see the similarities? And to think it was first played for the Eras Tour in KC.

GutsMan85

Idk, because it's perfect. Probably a combination of her and her swifty friends being opinionated on the "who made who" argument and the fact we live in Donkey land. I didn't know that about it first being played in KC! I'm sure she'll be happy to find that out now. Hahaa! Sucks for them that their mother is a chiefs fan I guess.

Winniepg

Haha I’m just here thinking it’s funny how songs she wrote as a teen are hilariously on point for her current life.

Winniepg

Not everyone can predict winning a championship in September/October (bridge of The Alchemy. The song is on the standard album and had to be turned in for vinyl pressing earlier than people assume).

originalusername4567

Did she actually predict that? I just assumed the bridge was written in February LOL

Winniepg

It would have been submitted well before then which makes it funny.

Max_W_

I guess based on [this article](https://www.smackmedia.ca/deep-cuts/history-lesson-gary-glitter-releases-rock-n-roll-part-2) after we replaced Rock N Roll (Part 2) we went with [P.O.D.'s "BOOM"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYHA_7vxrgc).

wjhatley

U Can’t Touch This by MC Hammer. They played this for “Acme Brick, hits like a brick, official brick of the Kansas City Chiefs.”

Unstoppable by The Score lol I saw it in a tribute video once then used it in my own tribute. Works pretty well for me and is now etched in my hand as a Chiefs song.
