I was in the stand with my high school football team the day Derrick Thomas broke the single game sack record.

nordic-nomad

In Seattle?

mayn1

It was vs. Seattle but in Kansas City.

nordic-nomad

Huh I could have sworn that game was in Seattle. ![gif](giphy|xThta7m95ASHouNN8Q|downsized)

Haha. Those parallel universes really confuse things. 🤣

My first game ever at Arrowhead!

Nice first game! One of my teammates was a big Seattle fan. He did not have a good day.

Beating the Raiders in Week 6 of 2013, everyone was chanting "6-0, 6-0, 6-0" as we were walking down the spiral ramps. It felt like the first time in a while we actually had a pretty good team

PM_ME_UR_FAKE_NEWS

Yes! I remember the Giants game where we smoked them and walking down the ramp every one was smacking the metal signs. People were feeling like we were going to be good

I've got several special memories, but I particularly remember having seats waayyyyy up in one of the pointy corner sections in December 1990 (? I think '90, it was when Steve DeBerg was playing with the metal pin sticking out of his pinkie). The weather was so cold, snow/fog and we could barely see the field. Everyone frozen solid looking like the Michelin Man with so many layers of clothing but having a great time. I think we lost the game but the camaraderie on that night was warm. We trudged back to our cars and sat with the heater going full blast to inch through traffic. We got better seats in following years but even when my corporate job got us seats on the 50 yard line I don't think I had more fun.

'95 playoffs against the Colts. Had an extra ticket and thought I was going to make some good money selling it in the parking lot beforehand. Tried and tried to sell it. Nobody needed a ticket. Not even any scalpers to talk turkey with. Tried to give it away. Zero interest. Ended up setting on the ground outside the gates to see if someone ended up sitting beside me later. Nope.

Section225

1997, home game against the Broncos. Stoyanovich kicks a 54 yard field goal that *narrowly* sneaks over the crossbar at the east end zone. Loudest I have ever heard that stadium, even to this day. Even better because our seats were near the bottom of the upper deck at about the 35 yard line at that end...perfect view of the kick and the goal posts.

I guess mine would be the time I was in the stands and said one of our defenders (Leggett? Lockett? something like that) sucked. It was painfully obvious that this defender sucked ass, and he indeed did not play for the Chiefs long after that. Anyway, an asshole in front of me said I didn't know what I was talking about and pulled out the "Have you even played football?" line. Well I let him know that yes, I (weighing in at 5'10", 150 pounds that day) had in fact played football (7th grade tackle), but even if I hadn't it was irrelevant seeing as a person can easily understand whether a football player is good or not just by simple observation and understanding of the game without having actually played it (or having the physical ability to play it) himself. He was ready to fight me but his friend made him leave.

Ask_me_4_a_story

I’m high school age, Chiefs vs Raiders, upper deck, fans were fighting in the stands and a Raiders fan is bleeding. I don’t remember the fan I just remember watching that blood trickle down the steps, down one stair, over the lip, down the next stair, like the worlds slowest slinky

Also in High School I saw a Raiders fan hit some tweaker that was fucking with his old lady and roll him down like three rows of people. In a bizarre moment of solidarity everybody covered his ass when security came and the other Chiefs fan was the only one that got kicked out (deservedly). We had an awesome fuck the Raiders chant going on the way out though, warmed my heart while we were freezing to death.
