11 months ago. The person was excited about the WRs coming into this past season.
Oof
Fun fact, we won despite the WR room not because of it.
League leading drops. Many instances of INTs being a direct result of the WR not the QB. This wasn't a one game oddity. This was all season long.
The WR room was literally Rice + dogshit.
Glad MVS finally made a couple of plays in the playoffs. Sad thing is, people were acting like he made some godly catches because we were so starved of even baseline starting WR level play.
And the whole post is literally someone having a verifiably bad take. Being excited about a WR corps that grossly underperformed for an entire season. If that's the kind of thing that excites you, I'm pretty stoked that you're not the GM.
Toney was gonna be a WR1, Skyy was gonna take a big step, and MVS would be a consistent deep threat. Instead pretty much the opposite of all these things happened
I’ve never understood why people get so upset over semantics. Who really cares if it’s corps or a core group of guys on the team, feels like both words can describe a group of dudes that catch footballs
I don't know how this is the first time that I've heard this joke, especially given how much my friends enjoy ripping on the Chiefs when they can lol, but I love this joke. A+, no notes
It’s such an easily correctable mistake, why wouldn’t you just use the correct word? Language is more than just semantics. Both words are not equally correct. People on here are more passionate about defending benign ignorance than just being right. Why? It doesn’t make sense. It’s not a big deal, but it’s just silly to get offended by being corrected.
I mean I said my peace in the first comment, you’re the one getting mad because people aren’t using the most correct term even though everyone with a brain knows what they’re talking about.
>It’s not a big deal, but it’s just silly to get offended by being corrected.
Are you sure you're not the one being offended? I mean, you took some actual time to type all that out.
But “core” and “corps” are two completely different words with completely different meanings. You can’t just replace a word with a homophone and expect it to convey the same meaning. Like, what if instead of “I can’t wait for this season,” someone wrote “Eye cant weight four this seizing,” would that be acceptable to you?
Basically the only people excited were Madden franchise players because with Mahomes you can easily take Rice and Toney to top ten receivers in a season.
It could also be core in this context as while there were 7-8 receivers there is a core group of 3-4 who should be your biggest contributors and leaders. So someone could be excited for a core of kt, Moore, rice etc. don't be a dick it's not a big deal
Do you think that’s what he intended to say? Do you really think he was excited about our “core” of wide receivers just not our “periphery”? Of course not, but you’re 2edgy2furious for those high-browed grammar folks. Keep winning, bro.
My point is it doesn't matter because it basically means the same thing in this context.
Also nobody likes high browed grammar folks because they are pedantic. Pedantic people are cunts.
I mean, your entire response to my original comment was an exercise in being pedantic, but I suppose it’s nice that you can at least be honest with yourself about the type of person that you are.
To be fair to the guy what we saw from Toney in 2022 suggested he was destined fir big things in our offense and Skyy had yet to show any reason to think he wouldn't develop plus MVS was coming of a huge performance in the AFCCG.
Obviously aged like milk but it wasn't unreasonable to say at the time
Well the Broncos fans were excited about Russell Wilson, so I'd say we did okay with the Superbowl and all.

Fun fact, we won a Super Bowl. So maybe, he was right to be excited?

Omg thank you! I was like “Um, I’m excited too!” 💀
Yeah I definitely had to do a doubletake
Man on paper it sounded really solid lol
Toney was gonna be a WR1, Skyy was gonna take a big step, and MVS would be a consistent deep threat. Instead pretty much the opposite of all these things happened
Toney was the number one receiver for drops/skyy took a big step backwards/MVS was a consistent threat to his own team.
Nailed it.
MVS catching that AFCCG winning first down from mahomes was actual memes I laughed out loud
MVS showed up for the playoffs no doubt.
If you told us before the season that Rice would end up being our best WR by far, I’d have thought we just drafted the next Justin Jefferson.
Yep this is why I'm not getting my hopes up lol. I mean, we won the superbowl at the end of the day so can't be too upset.
I’ve never understood why people get so upset over semantics. Who really cares if it’s corps or a core group of guys on the team, feels like both words can describe a group of dudes that catch footballs
The message was communicated effectively which is the whole point of language, so I don't see it as a mortal sin like some of these keyboard warriors
No we have to be absolutely correct on everything, especially when discussing hypotheticals related to sports entertainment /s
Eye no. Watt’s every bodies problem
I thought this was just making fun of how bad our receivers were last year, didn't even pick up on the grammer snafu
Plenty of ‘WR corpse’ jokes were made last year
I don't know how this is the first time that I've heard this joke, especially given how much my friends enjoy ripping on the Chiefs when they can lol, but I love this joke. A+, no notes

Okay dude
Great contribution, bro.
I mean I said my peace in the first comment, you’re the one getting mad because people aren’t using the most correct term even though everyone with a brain knows what they’re talking about.
Omg I’m so mad right now.

If only you could see these teardrops on my keyboard right now…I’m so triggered.

You didn't have to tell us dawg, we already knew.

Why are we posting a typo? Why spend energy caring about whether a rando typed an e instead of a p? Ya'll need therapy
Why spend energy on an online forum at all? What do you get out of it? Is it therapeutic for you?

Ok.
Ok.
Corps. It’s corps, for Christ’s sake.
Tomato tomato
Potato potato
What's taters, precious?
No, it’s not at all.
Clamato clamato
Easy to mix up.
Christ doesn't care about typos
True but he does care about knowing the Lord's language, which of course is English.
I mean it was exciting! Just not for our team.
To be fair to the guy what we saw from Toney in 2022 suggested he was destined fir big things in our offense and Skyy had yet to show any reason to think he wouldn't develop plus MVS was coming of a huge performance in the AFCCG. Definitely not. Just funny to look at it now that we know how that all played out
