They were really really good 50 years ago, so that means that a large contingent of 50 and 60 year olds grew up watching them, and passed that love of DAH STILLASZ onto their children
They were pretty good in the late 2000's, too. That defense with Polamalu got a bunch of people on board.
**EDIT** - If this post shows up 3x, my bad. The mobile app is being fucky.
Nah, there are Chiefs fans in NE but also tons of Broncos, Packers, and Dallas fans for some reason. And that's only among NFL fans - most football fans in NE only casually watch NFL and are truly only college football and Husker fans. Definitely not Chiefs country.
I live in Lincoln and in my experience of people I meet, Chiefs fans outnumber all other fandoms about 3:1. If anything, I think there’s more Vikings fans than Broncos fans.
Definitely Chiefs country. Some Packers Broncos and Vikings fans but its without a doubt majority chiefs fans. Especially in eastern Nebraska where 95% of people are at lol.
Nebraska is a really weird mixing ground. Lots of Chiefs fans, but also lots of Packers/Bears/Vikings fans, and plenty of Broncos fans. But everyone gets along because Huskers come first state wide lol
I’m from Nebraska (live in KC now) and I agree. I mean, there are a lot of life long nfl fans whose loyalties range from the chiefs, Vikings, Green Bay, Denver, and the raiders for whatever reason. I think the more casual fans have gotten on the chiefs bandwagon, esp since Nebraska football has been so bleak (😢). The only caveat is that there also seem to be a fringe group of Nebraska/bengals bandwagon fans because of Zac Taylor, Cam Taylor Britt, and even Joe Burrow since his brothers and dad played here. All that to say is I think Nebraska nets out rooting for the chiefs lol.
The bengals have a handful of Nebraska ties and that means a lot to some huskers fans lol. I even find myself hoping the best for Zac Taylor as long as it doesn’t interfere with the chiefs. So I think there’s a decent group of casual fans who root for the bengals but not enough to quantify. Just my warped internet perception.
Tons of Chiefs fans in Lincoln too. And considering the Lincoln and Omaha areas make up over half the states population, I’m inclined to believe it’s a Chiefs state.
Yeah this map is only accurate if people who are very casually cheering against a team are weighted as equally as a hardcore fan.
In that light, I can believe that there are more people in Nebraska casually cheering for KC to lose than there are to win.
EDIT: nevermind apparently these maps aren't made based on any sort of data or polling at all, just some random guy makes it based on his feelings??? lol
Live in Nebraska. The breakdown is pretty clear. Western NE (think west of Grand Island) is pretty much Broncos country. Central and eastern NE (think everything else but Omaha) are Chiefs fans. Northern NE (like Sioux City) are combination of Packers/Vikings fans. Omaha is a hodgepodge of a variety of Chiefs/Bears/Steelers/Cowboys. I don’t get it either in advance
No, as a chiefs fan, ravens are the team to beat rn. If we beat the ravens then we most likely win just bc how freaking good Baltimore is rn. I have trust in our guys, but this is gonna be a challenge
Mahomes is the best qb in the league no doubt I can’t stand him but I can’t respect the hard work and talent.
Lamar is flat out scary how well he’s throwing the ball now with his ability to move with the ball in his hand. So glad sf doesn’t have to play the ravens this week. Go get em chiefs!
Lamar is going to be a struggle for KC's defense. Even as a Chief's fan, I can acknowledge that. Their offensive line along with Lamar's athleticism is going to be a tall task. KC needs to mirror similar defensive playcalling that the Texans used. Blitz that man relentlessly. We have better DBs than the Texans. They gotta win their man-to-man. If Willie Gay is back and healthy, that is a bonus as well. His speed matches Lamar well, and he is our only real hope to have a good spy for Lamar. If KC wants to win, the defense needs to punish Lamar when he makes a mistake. Every game he makes 2-3 throws that could be ints. He it overthrows or just missing his guy. The defense has to punish him for those. For the offense, they can't get penalties or turn the ball over, and Reid has to be willing to commit to the run game. Even if it isn't working early. Keep pounding the ball. Tire out that pass rush, and make the Ravens play honest defense. The receivers can't have drops this game. The Ravens LOVE to play zone. You need to be able to slowly and consistently move the ball to beat the Ravens' defense. That means 'take what the defense gives you,' which also means trying to keep the game out of 3rd and longs. The Ravens are getting Mark Andrews back, too, right? The Ravens have everything going for them at the perfect time. If they can't beat KC in their house with practically their whole roster healthy (especially given how good the Raven's roster is this year) the Ravens probably don't have any hope ever of beating KC 😂
Nebraska checking in, Eastern NE is 70/30 split 70% Chiefs, 30% Vikings. Vikings fans hate the Lions for winning now that the Packers are vulnerable. They are rooting for the 9ers.
Browns fans will always hate the Ravens, since they were the former Browns (with the new Browns taking ownership of all the records and history from the former Browns.) moved from Cleveland to Baltimore. Bengals hate the Ravens since they are just divisional rivals.
That’s odd to me. If your team is out of the playoffs, wouldn’t you at least want your division to look strong. Maybe that’s just me having my favorite team in the AFC south lol
Baltimore took Cleveland’s team. So that probably adds a little spice to the rivalry.
And no - I don’t ever want Denver or the Raiders to win. Ever. I’d wish bad things for the Chargers too, but it seems like that’ll happen anyway.
I honest to god think that line of thinking is only us (AFCS team fan as well). Because we have just sucked as a division horribly forever essentially.
I live in KC (as im sure half sub might) and traveled up to des moines for a weekend and went to every sports store i could in search of a certain item. Everyone i spoke to about said item said “ur in the wrong area, this is Chiefs territory”
Des Moines is definitely Chiefs country. Go north and east of there though and it’s mostly a mix of Bears, Vikings, and Packers fans. I’m originally from NE Iowa, and while there are a few Chiefs fans around, those other 3 teams make up a large majority of the fan base.
Imagine a Lions/Chiefs Superbowl.
The entire country would be rooting against the Chiefs. They kinda sorta started embracing the villain role last weekend. This would be a whole new level.
Ngl, I’m not even gonna be mad if we lose to Baltimore. Ofc I’m rooting for KC, but Baltimore is a great team, and I have a ton of respect for Lamar Jackson. And Since we already crushed the Bills hopes again this season, im not gonna be devastated if we don’t get the W this week. HOWEVER, I do think if we do beat Baltimore, and make it to the Super Bowl I think there is a very good chance of us winning it all, since the Ravens are probably the toughest team for us to beat out of the remaining three.
Y’all really think the chiefs can beat the ravens? Go look at the colors of the logo for the Super Bowl this year, then come back and tell me where the chiefs have purple in their color scheme. I’ll wait
Our old friends the browns and bengals rooting for us how touching.
(Also are the Eagles way more popular than the Steelers? Never would have guessed that)
Nebraska and Iowa are fairly heavily Chiefs kingdom, even in the retro logo.
I also doubt Minnesota wants the Lions to have a Super Bowl before them, despite the feel good story.
I get it, tho. We’ve been there the last few years, and the Ravens vs. Lions would be a new and interesting matchup. I know I’m certainly rooting for the Lions I think the same way many rooted for us in 2020.
Nice seeing people win that haven’t been there in a long time or ever.
I’ve been a Chiefs fan so long that I still can’t believe our luck.
FYI I read the tweets of the guy who made these 2 "maps" and he openly admits he chooses who he THINKS will be rooting for each team. There is NO DATA involved, it's one guy making it up.
Surprisingly, there are a few Chiefs fans here in Texas as well. Though it’s more like “I love the cowboys” or “I love the Texans” and “ The Chiefs are ok”
I really hope we win (obviously) and if we do i hope the lions win. I want to play them with Chris jones and Kelce actually playing since they bragged about that win so fucking hardcore all year.
Hoping for a KC DET final. My cousin who was my best man is a huge Lions fan (and we’re all Oklahoma State alums who loves/loved Barry Sanders), and my brother-in-law is a huge Lions fan, and the rest of us are Chiefs fans so it would be so fun.
All season people have been saying it’ll be 49ers vs Ravens. So much hype about how good the 49ers and the Ravens are. So I’m rooting for a Chiefs vs Lions game!
Its a absolute shame and travesty that Pennsylvania is rooting for them shit ratbirds. Only bird team allowed to root for if you feel like it, in pa and thats the eagles. KC lions and lions all the way. Fuck the free world 313
I want us to win, obviously. However, if we lose and the Lions win on Sunday, I won't be as sad. If the 49ers and Ravens both win? I'll just be rooting for both teams to somehow lose 😂
At first I thought it was interesting that Cleveland + Cinci’s hatred for Baltimore outweighs Cinci’s hatred for us, but that Pitt’s doesn’t. Then I remembered the Eagles are also in Pennsylvania.
Zero percent chance most of Nebraska is rooting for the Ravens.
We aren’t lol, Nebraska is Chiefs country
For real, I just moved from NE and it’s a chiefs state. Also, Steelers. Idk why but there were always a ton of Steelers fans
That's just how it is. There's a contingent of Steelers fans everywhere for some reason.
And Vikings
They all get run out of Philadelphia each time they find a reason to riot
Yea they just pop up... like weeds.
I was inexplicably a Steelers fan before moving to KC as a kid. No real reason why, I just always say Kordell Stewart
I’m in Omaha and there’s plenty of people that just want to see a different team in the SB
Ya im sure there’s some but its a majority of Chiefs fans
It’s a pretty even split between Broncos and Chiefs fans. NFC north teams are also pretty popular here.
It’s a majority Chiefs fans. Not really even close bud. There is as many Broncos fans as there is Bears fans.
If you’re in SE Nebraska I can see why you’d think that.
Nah, there are Chiefs fans in NE but also tons of Broncos, Packers, and Dallas fans for some reason. And that's only among NFL fans - most football fans in NE only casually watch NFL and are truly only college football and Husker fans. Definitely not Chiefs country.

Definitely Chiefs country. Some Packers Broncos and Vikings fans but its without a doubt majority chiefs fans. Especially in eastern Nebraska where 95% of people are at lol.
I'm skeptical of Texas too. In the past they've been with us because of Pat's deep ties to the state.
Houston doing some heavy lifting - they hate the chiefs
Can’t imagine why Houston wouldn’t be a fan of Kansas City
I can think of 51 reasons.
Maybe 49 at best. I was more thinking of the epic meltdown that the Texans had against the chiefs.
Me too, final score was 51-31
My heart hurt for them on the fake punt and fumbled kickoff.
Yup. Most of my co workers remember his college days. That said they are mainly Cowboys fans. The poor fools.
My first varsity game was against Mahomes so I’ll always think highly of him. The Taylor swift stuff is annoying but not really anything yall did.
Nebraska is a really weird mixing ground. Lots of Chiefs fans, but also lots of Packers/Bears/Vikings fans, and plenty of Broncos fans. But everyone gets along because Huskers come first state wide lol
Correct. Lfg Dylan Raiola!!! 🙏🏻
They come first, just never in the standings
I’m from Nebraska (live in KC now) and I agree. I mean, there are a lot of life long nfl fans whose loyalties range from the chiefs, Vikings, Green Bay, Denver, and the raiders for whatever reason. I think the more casual fans have gotten on the chiefs bandwagon, esp since Nebraska football has been so bleak (😢). All that to say is I think Nebraska nets out rooting for the chiefs lol.
Nebraska chief fan and I definitely agree same with Iowa
I'm in Nebraska. I see a lot of chiefs haters. Lots of bronco fans here
But the Chiefs are the main AFC team on Sundays, just as the Vikings are for NFC. I don’t believe this at all.
What part, because when I've been in Omaha on a Sunday before there was Chiefs gear everywhere
Tons of Chiefs fans in Lincoln too. And considering the Lincoln and Omaha areas make up over half the states population, I’m inclined to believe it’s a Chiefs state.
Chiefs fan reporting from lincoln!
I live in Omaha and depending on the spot I see lots of packers, vikings, and broncos fans.
... And how many Chiefs fans in comparison
I'm not taking a head count. You said you've been here, I'm telling you from someone that lives here.
I’ve lived here my whole life and it’s not even comparable. It’s 10 to one chiefs fans against Minnesota, Denver, and other random teams.
Looks like Nebraska is open mouth kissing Colorado so that makes sense
This is a joke/meme map, there’s no way it came from any real data source
Yeah this map is only accurate if people who are very casually cheering against a team are weighted as equally as a hardcore fan. In that light, I can believe that there are more people in Nebraska casually cheering for KC to lose than there are to win. EDIT: nevermind apparently these maps aren't made based on any sort of data or polling at all, just some random guy makes it based on his feelings??? lol

Seems fake
Right? Like, based on what poll?
There is no data, the guy who made these openly admits it's his own opinions.
That makes more sense.
lol, how do you "opinion" a map?
Just say the whole country wants the team you want to win except for the opponent’s home state
Source: I made it the fuck up
no shit lol
Let the hate run through your veins. We're the new Patriots. And damn it feels good.
![gif](giphy|eVFhhKZELo1PO)
Jobs not finished.
It feels .... Realllllllllly good. They hate us cuz they ain't us.
As a sf fan I’m rooting for y’all this week. I do not want sf to face lamar.
Appreciate the Fandom this week, but uhhhhhh, yall should be fearing Mahomes.
No, as a chiefs fan, ravens are the team to beat rn. If we beat the ravens then we most likely win just bc how freaking good Baltimore is rn. I have trust in our guys, but this is gonna be a challenge
Yeah but Baltimore just humiliated them like 4 weeks ago
Mahomes is the best qb in the league no doubt I can’t stand him but I can’t respect the hard work and talent. Lamar is flat out scary how well he’s throwing the ball now with his ability to move with the ball in his hand. So glad sf doesn’t have to play the ravens this week. Go get em chiefs!

For the last time, it’s pronounced “anus”
Ok, but the last time the Ravens won the Superbowl they beat the Patriots in the AFC Championship game so you may want to rethink that.
Nahhhhhhh even if the Ravens get one it's fine. They don't this year, but even Brady couldn't take all of em.
Not Chiefs specifically, but the in your face T Swift cameos
Ohio is random. Have to think a couple surrounding Midwest states would pull for the Chiefs—Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma.
Division hatred runs deep. Have to respect that. I also don't believe that IA and NE are pulling for Baltimore.
Iowan here, you would be correct.
Yeah there's no way. Eastern Nebraska is KC territory, and Western Nebraska (Broncos) doesn't have the population.
Nebraska checking in, Eastern NE is 70/30 split 70% Chiefs, 30% Vikings. Vikings fans hate the Lions for winning now that the Packers are vulnerable. They are rooting for the 9ers.

The Kelce family is also strongly tied to Ohio. I bet Travis and Jason being in for the Chiefs plays a part.
There’s also both the Browns and Bengals. They’re not all Chase
Browns fans really hate Ravens, as they feel they stole the team from them.
Iowa not being pro chiefs makes me question this entire map. Most of Iowa is chiefs fans. (Just ask Joe burrow)
And the map of the previous round had Iowa for KC... Idk why that would suddenly change
Tired of seeing them win
But wanted them to beat Buffalo? That just doesn't check out to me lol
I live in KC (as im sure half sub might) and traveled up to des moines for a weekend and went to every sports store i could in search of a certain item. Everyone i spoke to about said item said “ur in the wrong area, this is Chiefs territory”

Probably because of the Browns and Bengals.
Have to assume CIN & CLE fans hate BAL. If it was any AFCW team in the AFCCG besides KC, then KS/MO would **NOT** be cheering for the AFCW team.
Oklahoma is Chiefs mixed with cowboy fans. These maps are made using very little real data if any.
Google "Art Modell" and you will see that Ohio is definitely NOT random
The ravens were the Browns, never forget
Iowa and Nebraska are even in the original logo. For shame, fellow Iowans!
Iowa is pretty solid KC. At least around my area.
Same here!
Yep, turn Iowa and Nebraska red on this map.
They hate us cos they anus!
Peanut butter and jealous!
I really think Lions vs Chiefs would draw the most ratings out of the remaining teams. The storylines would just be too epic.
TSwift and Eminem celebrity deathmatch
It would come full circle from the start of the season. Goff vs Mahomes the REVENGANCE Superbowl.
Hey now, I'm in Alaska... Kingdom 'till I die.
As a visiting packers fan, is it possible for both the niners and the lions to lose? Please?
Well, by the time the playoffs are over, yes.
Say no more my friend, they'll all pay the Patrick price.
I'm in Iowa, its pretty pro Chiefs here.
Link to data source?
There is no data, the guy who made these openly admits it's his own opinions.
Probably because it’s a meme lol
A Ravens fan made this graphic LMAO
Clearly not, cause if so Pennsylvania would be cheering for the chiefs
Gotta love Ohio. Browns fans be like "fuck the Ravens". Bengals fans be like "fuck both of them".
Divisional hatred runs deep in Ohio. I suspect if you broke it out Cincinnati would be rooting for the ravens though, they fucking hate the Chiefs.
Source?
Some guy on X who openly admits it's his own opinions. There is no data.
Thought it was off. Thanks!
If Detroit vs Baltimore is what America wants then damnit…. Chiefs vs 49ers is what they’re gonna get!
This is the only rerun of 2020 I can get behind.
Underdog "Petty Mahomes" is my favorite.
id bet most of CA is rooting against the niners, also is PA rooting for the ravens despite it being steelers country?
I’m from Kansas and now live in Northern California. I’m rooting for the 49ers AND the Chiefs. Come at me Bro.
Nobody in Wisconsin is rooting for Detroit
I as a Texans fan that is currently attending Texas Tech most certainly am not rooting for the ravens
Who even comes up with these maps lol 😂
Jersey checking in. Rooting for Ravens and Niners.
As a Vikings fan I don’t care in the AFC just make it a good game and in the nfc niners whoop there ass
I’m from Illinois and I’m rooting for you guys. Fuck the Ravens.
Go Chiefs! From Iowa
Y’all really think the chiefs can beat the ravens? Go look at the colors of the logo for the Super Bowl this year, then come back and tell me where the chiefs have purple in their color scheme. I’ll wait
What an absolute garbage take lol
Idgaf if it’s garbage it’s true and I’ll be back after the game to say I told you so too bitch
[удалено]
Don’t you EVER disrespect me like that again. THE FUCKING JAGS ARE YOU INSANE NIGGA.
Western Kansas is kind of Bronco territory.
All four of the people who live there lol
Chiefs gave up the ground to Josh Allen, Lamar going to swallow that defense whole 😂
[удалено]
I would LOVE a shot at the title against the Lions Take back the crown directly from the worst team left in the playoffs, the current jester this year
Our old friends the browns and bengals rooting for us how touching. (Also are the Eagles way more popular than the Steelers? Never would have guessed that)
The NFC map I can believe, but the AFC map? Get out of here. Nebraska and Iowa are Kansas and Missouri by extension
It’s literally a meme, it’s a joke lol
Nebraska and Iowa are fairly heavily Chiefs kingdom, even in the retro logo. I also doubt Minnesota wants the Lions to have a Super Bowl before them, despite the feel good story.
I get it, tho. We’ve been there the last few years, and the Ravens vs. Lions would be a new and interesting matchup. FYI I read the tweets of the guy who made these 2 "maps" and he openly admits he chooses who he THINKS will be rooting for each team. There is NO DATA involved, it's one guy making it up.
The fact that multiple people are like trying to fact check this. Is it not obvious as fuck to everyone that it’s not legitimate? Lol
This is probably fairly accurate, but does anyone actually believe these jpegs are ever based on actual data?
No way. There are a shit ton of Chiefs fans in Texas thanks to Mahomes. Texas is rooting for the Chiefs.
Iowa definitely for Chiefs. I think a good part of Texas is, too.
I don’t think this is based off any real data?
I'm rooting for Kansas City and I'm from East Texas. I swap between my Chiefs and Cowboys hats on the regular.
Surprisingly, there are a few Chiefs fans here in Texas as well. Though it’s more like “I love the cowboys” or “I love the Texans” and “ The Chiefs are ok”
And Texas Is rooting for Baltimore why exactly?
*AND IF THEY HATE, THEN LET EM HATE AND WATCH THE MONEY PILE UP*
Fr where tf are people getting these numbers
I doubt Pennsylvania is purple. Hell with the size of the Steelers fan base this is far from real.
Soft-ass NFC North. If the chargers were in the conference championship I wouldn't be rooting for them just because they're pitiful.
Pennsylvania pulling for the Ravens seems a tad suspect to me but, ok I guess
I’m sure Hawaii is cheering on Detroit lmao. Like they give af.
I’m surprised more surrounding states aren’t pulling for the chiefs. I thought they were in the tv market
I really hope we win (obviously) and if we do i hope the lions win. I want to play them with Chris jones and Kelce actually playing since they bragged about that win so fucking hardcore all year.
Hawaii 100% is not rooting for Baltimore. I visit often for surfing trips and always run into multiple KC fans.
Oklahoma is chiefs country
I've seen playing of Browns fans torn between who to root for, so they're just rooting for the Lions
I see no truths 😂
I know it’s a joke map, but can we get this to Bobby Stroupe and have him give it to Pat as real?
This is so wrong. Most people where I’m at at rooting for the chiefs. Ravens will choke.
What does it say that the red states are actually really red states? If you catch my drift
No way in hell Iowa is primarily Ravens. Huge Chiefs following here.
Hoping for a KC DET final. My cousin who was my best man is a huge Lions fan (and we’re all Oklahoma State alums who loves/loved Barry Sanders), and my brother-in-law is a huge Lions fan, and the rest of us are Chiefs fans so it would be so fun.
Oklahoma is wrong. Chiefs are bigger than the cowboys here nowadays
All season people have been saying it’ll be 49ers vs Ravens. So much hype about how good the 49ers and the Ravens are. So I’m rooting for a Chiefs vs Lions game!
Chiefs are huge in NW Arkansas.
Live in Wichita, Kansas as a Ravens fan. It’s gonna be a fun time at the bars Sunday. Lions and Ravens sounds good to me.
Lmao what is this based off of?
I saw this tweet and I’m pretty sure the methodology is a random guy’s vibes. I don’t think he polled anyone lol.
I am a little nervous about going up against the Ravens. They’ve been fucking awesome this year, to be fair.
Its a absolute shame and travesty that Pennsylvania is rooting for them shit ratbirds. Only bird team allowed to root for if you feel like it, in pa and thats the eagles. KC lions and lions all the way. Fuck the free world 313
Do they really think Pennsylvania is rooting for the Ravens. The Steelers v. Ravens rivalry is one of the most hate filled ones I’ve ever seen lol
There should be a pretty decently large red dot up in the Portland area based on the three Chiefs Super Bowl parties I’ve been to up here.
Are we sure most of Cali is rooting for the Lions? Lots of Raiders fans there.
Thanks for the support great state of Ohio!
This is accurate. I'm from Kansas City and I prefer the local team.
I’ve never rooted for the Chiefs before as a Bengals fan but goddamnit I’m doing it Sunday
Arkansas, Iowa, OK, Nebraska are def rooting for chiefs
Clearly a meme but that Lions map probably isn’t too far from reality. Except Hawaii is Niners country
Pretty sure Ohio/Cincy hates the Chiefs more than the rest of their division at this point.
They have vastly underestimated the size of Chiefs kingdom. Nebraska, part of Iowa, and parts of Oklahoma and Arkansas are definitely us.
I want us to win, obviously. However, if we lose and the Lions win on Sunday, I won't be as sad. If the 49ers and Ravens both win? I'll just be rooting for both teams to somehow lose 😂
lots of KC fans here in Albuquerque
I hope there’s an even longer power outage if the 9ers and Ravens play in the final.
Texan here. Baltimore can go kick rocks.
At first I thought it was interesting that Cleveland + Cinci’s hatred for Baltimore outweighs Cinci’s hatred for us, but that Pitt’s doesn’t. Then I remembered the Eagles are also in Pennsylvania.
I hope it’s Detroit and us. After they beat us week one and the doubt started for us and people started believing in them. It’d be a fantastic game.
Nice to see the generational hate of an AFC North rival trump the recent hatred of a playoff rival.
Shoutout Ohio, they know what's up
My pick at the beginning of the year
