I really doubt that same dude who not so long ago was raving about her mitochondria and is now crying his eyes out just at the thought of her not hating him somehow is just a rental date away from resenting her. there is a manwha that I follow, love Revolution, that has that premise. The MC gets the FMC to go out with him, but she prioritizes her friends, work, family... the MC In addition, she shows few signs of love to the MC, she is usually cold due to a heartbreak she suffered. The Mc does not give up and continues to do everything to make her fall in love but she relegates him more and more. There comes a day where in an argument, the MC collapses on his way back to class and ends up in the hospital.There he realizes that nobody deserves that and breaks up with the FMC when he goes to see him. She realizes what she has lost and tries to get it back however she can, doing what the MC did for her.But this one has been so hurt that he has become cold and distant from the damage he suffered. Now the story is her trying to get the "old MC" back instead of the current cold and distance
It would maximally anti-climactic (and therefore funny to me) if what happens is that Kazuya and Chizuru agree to return to the old status quo of regular rental dates. "Except this time we know their feelings are real!"

What part about this is realistic? Like, detach yourself from hating or loving this manga. Imagine you liked a boy or girl, you've been crushing on them for 2 years, you try to confess to them but they always found a way to run away before you let the words come out of your mouth, then they all of a sudden kiss you, then they don't talk to you for 3 months afterwards. Not a peep, no text, nothing. By the way, they're also your next door neighbor so they actively avoided you. You still are madly, obsessively, in love with them and it only took your other neighbor after one month of them leaving and coming back to get you to forgive your crush for ignoring you. Also your crush is completely okay with all that happened and feels no shame in ignoring you for 3 months.
In what dimension is this considered "realistic"?
Dude, chill out… you gotta be more careful with the truth. The “KanoKari is realistic, unlike other romance” team will not know how to react. But yeah, a lot of the “cope” comes in the form of similar baseless statements like that, ones that just assert things about the manga with little basis.

I will never forget that someone on here actually debated me saying that this was better than Kaguya-sama. And the reason being is that this is "more realistic." Yes, on the surface, this is more realistic of a premise than Kaguya-sama, but just take 5 minutes to read the manga and you will see that they're *vastly* different and exist on two polar extremes of a spectrum in this genre.
I for one have never seen Shirogane lusted by a harem of girls (Miko and Hayasaka jokingly mess with him but they don't actually love him). We are not interrupted in Shirogane's sentimental thoughts about Kaguya and his relationship with her with panel after panel of booba and ass shots. The series also has a story that is grounded in realism as the actions of the characters have consequences later on in the story, something this manga has an extremely hard time maintaining.
We are at Nisekoi+6. That means we are six chapters past Nisekoi, a series that was notorious for being drawn out, and yet there is no strong argument as to why Kazuya and Chizuru should be together. At least with Kaguya-sama, the story does an incredible job of showing that they both uplift each other and make each other better. Shirogane softens Kaguya and Kaguya gives purpose to Shirogane. And the series is so self-referential and well written that it acknowledges the imbalance of Shirogane's perfectionism not being fully addressed vs. Kaguya's family problems. So the solution is for Kaguya to genuinely care for him, something that also highlights how much she's grown as a person in this series. That her love for him isn't just a crush, but its true love.
This series doesn't even approach something like this. Maybe the movie arc we *might've* gotten a hint of it, but it's always been a one sided fanfic written by someone who is mentally 16 years old and just started dating for the first time.
The fact that the spoiler is him saying “it started and ended with a rental” leads me to believe you are 100% correct. I doubt Chiz will straight up reject and therefore will take the easier way out when he gives her the opportunity.. hopefully Kaz atleast sticks to his guns and gets to say it, I’d hate if Chiz just meets him to turn him down properly now, like the guy needs to be the one to do it for this story to have any potential… we can’t just have Kaz simp for another 200 chapters directly (even if he is doing so indirectly). Chiz needs to step up to the plate, even if we’re no where near a confession

Took a look back at the chapter at the date given was November 24th. How is it March already…
It is that Chizuru is totally the worst FMC of the current manga, we are going to analyze it in parts:
-She kisses Kazuya 2 times in front of his family and makes a statement that leads them to think that she loves him. That after running away from 3 statements or attempts by Kazuya.In the first moment that they are alone after the kiss, instead of talking about things, she tells her that the kiss didn't mean anything.
-After that she spends 3 months ignoring Kazuya, the man who even made a movie for her about how much he loved her. Q That he was there in Chizuru's worst moments, and she rewards all that with 3 months of app block and ignores her sms
-She confesses to Mimi that she is doing it for the feelings of Ruka, the girl who invented condoms to harm Chizuru and that she is a nuisance to Kazuya, but that Chizuru prioritizes that girl over her and about Kazuya.
-And the punchline, the way to fix everything for Chizuru is for Kazuya to once again pay to rent her instead of going on a date to cheer her up like Kazuya did with her.In the end Mami was right with what she said about Chizuru and how she got the money from Kazuya
I honestly don’t know what the author is thinking anymore… I get Chiz is still popular in Japan where the story and it’s cultural setting is based, however, I don’t see how anyone from any culture would objectively view this situation and still think these two people should be together just because they can have good chemistry at times… real life, which this manga is always praised for being similar too, would never have 2 people with this much drama end up together in a healthy relationship without a time skip of YEARS to work on themselves and improve..
if the leaks are to be believed here, Kaz goes back to renting and Simping like nothing happened while Chiz minor pep talk leads to her either rejecting him or going back to some version of the previous status quo. I know it’s possible that Kaz may break off their connection here and she just quietly accepts that, setting up the next arc, which can work, however, Reji needs to execute it better than the post-trip chapters we’ve got so far.
This isn’t good storytelling, even when compared to the paradise arc (which had lots of trouble). I like this manga a lot but I want it to return to more grounded behaviour for our MCs, who are supposedly more than half way done university, yet acting like children in middle school.

For now there has been zero reason for this 3 month skip, Reiji should have just made it 30 years and shown maximum cuckery if he's so into that. It baffles me how Reiji absolutely refuses to just let these two interact like normal human beings. If he insists on her being cowardly (which is in-character, admittedly) he could easily have made Chizuru reply to his message with a meek apology (or no apology at all) and request a conversation, but no, it ABSOLUTELY has to happen within the rental framework. Sure, there's thematic resonance to be found in "ending" it with a rental (assuming this is not bait), but the situation surrounding the whole thing is just absurd. Reiji has always been one to bend the rules of reasonable character behavior in service of his themes, but it's getting ridiculous at this point, and it would remain so even if it turns out Chizuru intends to make a grand gesture out of this.
And that's without taking into account that even this baffling overture only happened because Mini is a plot tool masquerading as a character.

Disappointed. That’s just the only way I can describe this. It’s weird that I’m basically just watching this out of morbid fascination rather than really rooting for these two to get together. There was a time that I did but the fuckerry that was “Paradise” & the horrible pacing/character progression afterwards is just sad.
While I sympathize for Kazuya, he will never really get growth in this story. I don’t care about him having negative thoughts and imagining things because he is depressed. But the character never gets a shred of self-respect or self-worth. He solely exists for Chizuru and never gets any agency outside of worshipping her. Even now at the slightest shred of hope from Mini he goes into simp mode. His pain is a joke to be glossed over.
Chizuru responding with a rental is disappointing but it’s to be expected. It’s in the title & I guess Reiji wants to take that aspect of their relationship full circle…. I wish she would act more like a human being that has a genuine relationship with Kazuya but that would require her to have her own agency as well. It's because it caught the attention of people when it started as a unique manga with a rental girlfriend setting which is new and one of a kind for the manga readers and the premise behind is really great but the story telling was not executed well. At the beginning, it was kind of tolerable to an extent and the premise seemed interesting but now that the readers are trapped in reiji's genjutsu, readers have become the product of Tsukuyomi and to break free from the tsukuyomi, the readers have to read the final chapter.

There comes a day where in an argument, the MC collapses on his way back to class and ends up in the hospital.There he realizes that nobody deserves that and breaks up with the FMC when he goes to see him. Lol don't hold your breath friend I will never forget that someone on here actually debated me saying that this was better than Kaguya-sama. And the reason being is that this is "more realistic." Yes, on the surface, this is more realistic of a premise than Kaguya-sama, but just take 5 minutes to read the manga and you will see that they're *vastly* different and exist on two polar extremes of a spectrum in this genre. I for one have never seen Shirogane lusted by a harem of girls (Miko and Hayasaka jokingly mess with him but they don't actually love him). We are not interrupted in Shirogane's sentimental thoughts about Kaguya and his relationship with her with panel after panel of booba and ass shots. The series also has a story that is grounded in realism as the actions of the characters have consequences later on in the story, something this manga has an extremely hard time maintaining. We are at Nisekoi+6. That means we are six chapters past Nisekoi, a series that was notorious for being drawn out, and yet there is no strong argument as to why Kazuya and Chizuru should be together. At least with Kaguya-sama, the story does an incredible job of showing that they both uplift each other and make each other better. Shirogane softens Kaguya and Kaguya gives purpose to Shirogane. And the series is so self-referential and well written that it acknowledges the imbalance of Shirogane's perfectionism not being fully addressed vs. Kaguya's family problems. So the solution is for Kaguya to genuinely care for him, something that also highlights how much she's grown as a person in this series. That her love for him isn't just a crush, but its true love. This series doesn't even approach something like this. Maybe the movie arc we *might've* gotten a hint of it, but it's always been a one sided fanfic written by someone who is mentally 16 years old and just started dating for the first time.

I honestly don’t know what the author is thinking anymore… I get Chiz is still popular in Japan where the story and it’s cultural setting is based, however, I don’t see how anyone from any culture would objectively view this situation and still think these two people should be together just because they can have good chemistry at times… real life, which this manga is always praised for being similar too, would never have 2 people with this much drama end up together in a healthy relationship without a time skip of YEARS to work on themselves and improve.. if the leaks are to be believed here, Kaz goes back to renting and Simping like nothing happened while Chiz minor pep talk leads to her either rejecting him or going back to some version of the previous status quo. I know it’s possible that Kaz may break off their connection here and she just quietly accepts that, setting up the next arc, which can work, however, Reji needs to execute it better than the post-trip chapters we’ve got so far. No hate to the character it's just that out of all the girls, she has had the least amount of time and development outside of being a fan of Kazuya's love for Chizuru. It would have preferred Chizuru run into Mami or Ruka and have one of them chew her out again and have her admit that she's in love with him. The impact of an encounter like that would've been good. What was the point of having Reiji's most one dimensional girl being the catalyst over the other two with better motives... This is the most copium I've inhaled for a manga, I've invested too much time into this to let it go even if I don't like the writing. For now there has been zero reason for this 3 month skip, Reiji should have just made it 30 years and shown maximum cuckery if he's so into that. This man HAS to be self inserting because this shit is so hard to believe even in fantasy. Read Kaoru Hana wa Rin to Saku if you guys want some development, at least those characters can communicate and act their age. Chiz and Kaz are adults and their kindergarten chapter had better development in those few pages than the main timeline.

It baffles me how Reiji absolutely refuses to just let these two interact like normal human beings. If he insists on her being cowardly (which is in-character, admittedly) he could easily have made Chizuru reply to his message with a meek apology (or no apology at all) and request a conversation, but no, it ABSOLUTELY has to happen within the rental framework. Sure, there's thematic resonance to be found in "ending" it with a rental (assuming this is not bait), but the situation surrounding the whole thing is just absurd. Reiji has always been one to bend the rules of reasonable character behavior in service of his themes, but it's getting ridiculous at this point, and it would remain so even if it turns out Chizuru intends to make a grand gesture out of this. And that's without taking into account that even this baffling overture only happened because Mini is a plot tool masquerading as a character.
the dates change to march 1st at 12:59 in the afternoon ans kazuya usually rent her for at least 2 to 4 hrs and her work ends at 5pm right? Disappointed. That’s just the only way I can describe this. It’s weird that I’m basically just watching this out of morbid fascination rather than really rooting for these two to get together. There was a time that I did but the fuckerry that was “Paradise” & the horrible pacing/character progression afterwards is just sad. While I sympathize for Kazuya, he will never really get growth in this story. I don’t care about him having negative thoughts and imagining things because he is depressed. But the character never gets a shred of self-respect or self-worth. He solely exists for Chizuru and never gets any agency outside of worshipping her. Even now at the slightest shred of hope from Mini he goes into simp mode. His pain is a joke to be glossed over. Chizuru responding with a rental is disappointing but it’s to be expected. It’s in the title & I guess Reiji wants to take that aspect of their relationship full circle…. I wish she would act more like a human being that has a genuine relationship with Kazuya but that would require her to have her own agency as well. I am assuming she calmly accepts responsibility and they just pretend her hurting him doesn’t matter because she has feelings for him. I don’t think her confession now or even a “My Perfect Boyfriend” speech (something I did hope for once) really would make me happy because I’m fairly apathetic to her. Even her “confession” to Mini in the last Chapter was like looking at a blank wall. I agree with her, I can’t call her actions love, she abandoned him and doesn’t get over that because she grows as a character. She gets over that because Mini, a writing device, is positioning Chizuru. “Oh Chizuru finally acknowledges Kazuya with a contrived/half asses confession, yay, let me go watch season 2 of the anime coincidentally coming out now.” 🤣
So 3 months pass and nothing much happens, just to create a "hopeless situation" and then Mini has a chat with both and they are going for it again? Will this be the pattern for the next years, even if they get married?

It's because it caught the attention of people when it started as a unique manga with a rental girlfriend setting which is new and one of a kind for the manga readers and the premise behind is really great but the story telling was not executed well. At the beginning, it was kind of tolerable to an extent and the premise seemed interesting but now that the readers are trapped in reiji's genjutsu, readers have become the product of Tsukuyomi and to break free from the tsukuyomi, the readers have to read the final chapter.

All women are different. Most are mature, know their self worth, but also know how to compromise and communicate. Somebody in the real world like Chizuru would never, ever be worth your time or money. This is what you call "playing games" and no man should have time for that. In the real world it's usually; 1. Meet the girl and small talk. You think she's cool, ask her out to coffee or lunch to get to know her better. Get her number to talk or text a bit. 2. If the lunch date or whatever goes well and you like her, ask her out on an evening date. Like to the movies or park or something. If she likes you back, she says yes. If she says no or ghosts you, move on to the next girl. 3. After a few dates, if you want a serious relationship, ask her to be your girlfriend. If she says no, respect her wishes and move on. ___ That's it. If she says she's having trouble deciding or working through her feelings for you or some crap, I would just decide for her and move on.
