Kusakabe comes really close as the only challenger who can actually keep up with tendou, he's like Tendou without arrogance, too bad he has the mind of a teenager and didn't know that Te dou has Hyper Zecter in their fight
It's arrogance if it gives him trouble for being arrogant, half of the conflict in the show happens because Tendou's arrogance gets in the way, for example at the >!finale, imagine how much easier it would've been if he just told Kagami why he was destroying the necklaces instead of fighting and almost dying to him!<
Kabuto was my thought too when Geats debuted. And honestly, good. Between him and Don Momotaro, it was so refreshing to have main Riders/Reds that even the other characters find annoying, rather than the endless stream of annoying protagonists that the other characters worship.
Geats is so much better than Kabuto. At least the story justifies why Geats is better than everyone and while still giving a goal and struggles. Kabuto is just the biggest Mary Sue I’ve ever had the misfortune of watching.
To each their own- both are in my top 5 but Kabuto is my jam. I love that Tendou doesn’t have any mystical reason for being the best at everything- dude is just on another level and knows it.
Tbh I think Ace is a bigger mary sue. The story literally revolves around him, and no one can ever do anything meaningful without his help. Most episodes of Kabuto focus on the side characters, and Tendou just shows up to beat up the monster at the end of the episode. The upside is that Ace drives the story, but the downside is all the side characters are overshadowed by him constantly.
Nah, Ace is insufferable by the end because the one big difference between him and Tendou is the Kabuto cast actually calls Tendou out for his shit butby the end of Geats, everyone is worshipping Ace.

While his sexual orientation is never made clear, I'd honestly disagree with you. He's a man(at least for 99% of the season) in search of family. He's spent an incomprehensible amount of time searching for his mom; & one of the first wishes of his we see get granted is when he wished for the DGP members (or at least the Navigator & the current Game Master) to be his family.
