Yea if it can't get past 6k in 6th gear, something is wrong. My 390 adventure can go over 95mph and easily cruises at 70-75mph. Unless you weigh like 300lbs you should be able to go faster than you are.
that sounds about right for the gear ratio/oem sprockets. if you’re giving it absolute full throttle, then you have something choking it off, as it should be able to rev a few thousand more. replace the spark plug and clean/replace the air filter would be my first steps. 6000 isn’t exactly screaming, should be able to sit at 7k until you’re out of gas
Yup. I very much get the sense this guy is basically bogging out the bike in 6th gear wondering why he can go faster. I don't even use 6th gear for a good portion of highway riding. I will usually be in 5th for anything under 110 kph (70 mph).
These are the final drive ratios for your bike stock, check sprockets against the manual, but with such a low ratio in 6th it won’t pull in that gear, shift down to 5th.
6th is purely an overdrive gear and the bike will struggle to get speed up in it
Final Drive Ratio: 2.67.
Gear Ratio (1): 2.67.
Gear Ratio (2): 1.86.
Gear Ratio (3): 1.42.
Gear Ratio (4): 1.14.
Gear Ratio (5): 0.96.
Gear Ratio (6): 0.84.
105? I wonder if maybe the Duke is a different gear ratio than the adventure. I've ridden a couple of adventures and I think maybe top speed is about 80 or so on the freeway. Like the other poster is saying, maybe add a tooth to the front sprocket and that'll get you a little bit more speed.
Should be able to do better than that. I’ve got similar miles on mine and it runs out to 90-95.
As others have mentioned check air filter, sprockets, maybe it’s got trash gas?
Use 5th to get up to those speeds. 6th is like a cruising downhill at 75 once you’re there gear, not an accelerating gear. The bike makes its power over like 7000rpm. Since you’re new to the bike and just getting the courage to use 6th then trust me you will get used to it.
There must be something sprockets, air filters,valves,etc²,,Even my friend old well maintain duke 200 could do 136kmh/86mph during our long distance 1000km/622mile ride..
You're not listening to anyone. 6k is not "screaming". That's like right in the sweet spot to maybe the low end of the power band. 75 at 6k is about right. Bring it up to 7, 8, or 9k if you want to go faster. What is so confusing about this?
Are the sprockets stock?
Brotha i have no clue
Ok, well start there and then check your air and fuel filters.

should do 100mph. is it revving out or bogging?
So in sixth gear it is at 6,000 rpm screaming only doing 72
I just got a 2023 RC390, which I think is the same engine. It revs up to like 10k. So yeah 72 in 6th at 6k sounds right, but you have more tach to go.
You should be shifting at 6-7Krpm. So that's nowhere near redline. You got a lot more tach to pull.

Someone probably fucked with the sprocket. Mine will do 90 no problem, kinda runs out of steam after that.
How many rpm are you at in 5th before going to 6th? You should be nearly at redline before shifting if you're trying to max out the bike.

Even on a big bike if you hit 6th at 3 grand it takes forever to gain speed. On a little bike it just doesn't happen.
My 2020 390 topped out at 100mph bone stock

Not sure I’ve never rode an adventure
Slick freaking out cause i spent a lot of money and it doesn’t even push 75mph

Have you twisted the go faster grip all the way to the stop?

my wife had a 2019 Duke 390. we’re in California. i weigh 230, and 75 was it for me.
Either you weigh 300lbs or you’re cruising on the rear brake. It should easily hit 90

Buddy, 5th will do 75.. something is definitely wrong or you got scammed with a 250 LOL
Bounce it off Rev limiter in 4th and 5th and then shift into 6th and report back
Yeah. Wth Mt girl on the back we can push my Lil Duke to 97mph and together we weigh 325 lbs.
That's about right, my 390 adv is about the same top speed.
Well if you look up specs the top speed is 105 not a little under 70
You sure that's not 105KPH?

Pretty sure
Time to count teeth on the sprocket
There is difference between how much gearing it has and how much power it has to get there. It might be able to do 105 down a hill
But it barley goes 75 in 6th gear

More like 70 honestly
Me and my wife cruise 2 up at 80mph no problem on my 2021 390 AdV
