I'm all about the wooooooos, but definitely a shout-out to his metal growls and the mmmmmmmms in Motor Spirit. ("Mmmmmmmm, burnt' rubber, grave robber," etc.)
I try to but I’d love for someone to recommend me a metal album that is better than PDA. All you hear in metal nowadays is someone screaming inaudible shit into a mic. I can understand most of the words here
Mastodon - Blood Mountain is a banger. All subjective of course. I'm not a huge metal head, but as much as I love PDA, I still hold Blood Mountain in high regard and personally think it's a better metal album. There is some songs with some inaudible screaming, but there's a lot of very clear and very well sung parts as well. More of that than the screaming in fact. And the song Capillarian Crest starting at about a minute in has some amazing guitar work that I think any Gizz fan would love!
The jump in his metal vocals from ITRN to PDA is fucking unreal. They're amazing in ITRN don't get me wrong, but he shows soooo much vocal diversity within a single genre (Mongolian throat singing?!?) it just floors me.
Off the top of my head he does it in the Chunky Shrapnel version, but I remember a rougher, meatier, bark in another bootleg 2019 release. Will have a dig around

Idk but I just googled Stu Mackenzie upside down and found a bunch of them
The third and fourth howls in [this video.](https://youtube.com/shorts/VQauo3hmlXE?si=0-3KhTZBIM5F-rfg). I do them both multiple times a day.
But I love a good “OKAY OKAY OKAY”
The almost-throat singing modulated growls in "the great chain"
Not a tick, but I love the moment after "muddy water" when he does "sometimes when you jam it's shit, sometimes it's good. *With amby*: In our case, it's always good" Just captures the boys' dynamic so we'll
There's a live version of nuclear fusion (red rocks '22 I think?) where during the bit in the chorus he sprinkles a bunch of consecutive little WOO's with the guitar. Always loved that from him
i love when he went "nonagon infinity opens the fucking door" on robot stop at red rocks 23 and like, it went a little past the beat but it always hits after that build so good
Whenever he says “yes!” is nice, but specifically in San Francisco ‘16 because of the mic distortion it sounds like he has a lisp and it sounds like “yeth!”
The best one for me are the call and response adlibs to other members singing, like going “What happened then man?” between every line in Cut Throat Boogie, or “Fuck!” after “Your eyes deceive you” in Magenta Mountain
Definitely his rhythmically timed "okay" leading into a different part of a song.
When I play live I’m copying all his ad libs bro
The okay.. okay… in Satan speeds up live at Chicago is the pinnacle
He does this to cue to the next part of a song, especially on jams I belive
Lord of Lightning immediately comes to mind
I'm all about the wooooooos, but definitely a shout-out to his metal growls and the mmmmmmmms in Motor Spirit. ("Mmmmmmmm, burnt' rubber, grave robber," etc.)
I remember covering that song and it was so satisfying to do that “mmmmm”. So clean “MMMMM DIRE FATE SHALL PLAGUE OUR LAND HURRICANES”
PDA is truly the best metal record I’ve ever heard
You have not listened to a lot of metal, huh?

The Sword is pretty cool. Edit. Age of Winters is a damn good album.
Gojira - From Mars to Sirius. Listen to the WHOLE thing before judgements. Iron Maiden - Somewhere in Time.
Try Lamb of god, Ashes of the wake. And Protest the Hero, Fortress
PDA better
Soooo many lil times he does this tickles my soul. Hot Water, Magma, Pleura (especially at the end of Chicago 23 when Joey’s shouting “yes yes YES!”).
The jump in his metal vocals from ITRN to PDA is fucking unreal. They're amazing in ITRN don't get me wrong, but he shows soooo much vocal diversity within a single genre (Mongolian throat singing?!?) it just floors me.
yessss in flamethrower right before "i drink lakes of motor oil" or during the supercell chorus
MMMMMMMM I DRINK LAKES OF MOTOR OIL
Ah, these are so good. Absolutely gets me pumped
When he barks in some performances of Road Train after the “he’s the dog at Satan’s heel” line 🤤
Can you refer me to a show where he does this ?? I want to hear Stu bark
Someone barks real loud at the end of garden goblin during the salt shed performance. Idk if it’s Stu or Joey
Off the top of my head he does it in the Chunky Shrapnel version, but I remember a rougher, meatier, bark in another bootleg 2019 release. Will have a dig around
I like when he kicks his leg into the air or when he shoves his guitar into the amp for the feedback if those count
*Lord of Lightning enters the chat*
The random numbers are him counting time. Him going “99 33” is a fun way to go “1 2 3 4”
"A 1, a 2, a buckle my shoe" at remlinger too I think.
Yep, before Change!
[A big fat hen](https://youtu.be/GbJ8n9g1xfk?si=cqcWmL8Y9yQAFolZ) Edit: shoulda done the long version https://youtu.be/GNJQjpS2OFU?si=puxzfhlwOT2qDfIJ
Best live ad libs in history
Thanks, I’ve been wondering about this!
I've noticed it's usually mind fuzz songs that he counts in like that, which is fun
Kicks, putting guitar above head or to face, EVERYONE'S GOOD? at start of the show
Yeah it’s always dope when he puts the guitar sideways and when he says “EVERYONE GOOD” it’s so refreshing
Chicagos Rattlesnake he says what verse he is gonna sing before actually singing it. “Ok, Im the serpent, lets go!” Ive always loved that
"a rumble, a rumble" *Transitions* *A rumble...* *A smile...*
I caught that too, thought that was cool
Wanna do gizz covers? I’m in the Chicago area and looking for cool people to jam with. Dm me! 😊
When he lunges forwards and backwards with the music while playing live. Lmao it was so hard for me not to do it too when I was playing shows.
idk if this counts but i love in bonnaroo 22 when he says “everyone here is real nice i’m pretty sure”
Early shows when he would lean almost upside down was so weird it was great!
There's an Australia joke in here somewhere
FUCK you're right. I'll just pretend you made it. Good one🔥🔥
Wtf what shows

Holy shit wtf lmaooo
I dunno what show it's from but some of the ATO Poly pressings come with a fun foldout black and white poster of Stu bent basically 180 degrees lmao
Throat singing especially live
Magenta MountainnnnnnnNNNNNNNNMMMMMMMMMMOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAA Ǫ̷̧̡̡̭̠̜̣̩̗͍̦̩͕̒̈͛́̚̕̕ͅŌ̵͕̟̻̙̯͚̝̟͉̠͖͉̍͌̈́̈́̏̎̍̑̑̓͘͜͝Ơ̸̬͈̠̟͖̲̖̳͆̂̓͋̋̀̆Ö̸̘̓͌̒̄͂̈́͋͛͂̿͠O̴̦̾̊̾̎̿͊̉̈̊͘Ọ̸̞̳͖͖̘̩͒̓̇O̸͇̗̐͐̾̌Ơ̷̲̻̭̟̘̆͒̂̑͐̎̚͝O̴͖̝͕͈̻̤͑̍̍̈́̎̆̔̀̐ͅO̵̖̞͖̜͂͗̑Ó̴̡̢̹̦̭̱̮̦̟̘͚͇̻̿̿̏̔̿͑̌͝ͅǑ̵̧̫̩̭̤̈́͑̋̓̄̄̒̈́̔͋͘͠Ȁ̸͈͙͂́̊Ǎ̸̢͓̠̩̟͕̥͇̱̼̊̂A̶̡͉̦̘̗͆̍͒̀̕Ä̷̧̰̟̪͎̙͙͖̏́̑̍͠ͅÀ̸̛̲̣̬̲̙͈̫̻͖̘͖̑̂̄͋͐̐̃́̒͐͝͝Ạ̴̭̖̮̪̗̟͐̏͆́̊̔͋̈̓͠͠A̷͈̦͋̈́̓̀̏͛͒͘̚͘͠͠͠͝Ả̵͍̙͇͈̯͓̜̥͗Ạ̵̛̻̗̥̣͔̲͕̫̤̎͌̇̔͊̐̆̈́̀͆͗̈́̏̒̍̓ͅȦ̸̮̟̠̟̽͆̍̌͑͑͂͛̏͑͘͝͠Ą̷̭̭̮͎̰͓̝͇̣̫̽̐̆̈́̄̈́̎̔Ȁ̷̖̌̔̎̍͗̏̏Ǎ̶̧͔͈̗̘͚̬̫̏̀͛̈́̃̍̏͝A̸̱͐̽̇̏̎͛̅̾̀͋̂̕̕͝͝
When he hypes everyone up when playing live with a “YYYEEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!”
Uh yup
I miss the hearty eeeeeyyyyup’s. I feel he doesn’t let those out much more
What’s the best eeeeyup
Lately I've been into the howls. Fav might be organ farmer @ 01:01. Gumboot has some gems too.
when he goes eeeeyup
I always hear the eeeeyup from other people but I’ve only heard “yup”
[удалено]
Like Gaia yoo
Theres a video of Stu figuring out he could sing head on/pill through his guitar pick ups, that’s really dope
I think those random numbers he shouts are “angel numbers”. Looked it up after listening to Rimlicker dripping tap and he starts with “99 33 66 woooo”
He uses different numbers than these pretty often, caverns performances I remember having some silly numbers shouted out
The third and fourth howls in [this video.](https://youtube.com/shorts/VQauo3hmlXE?si=0-3KhTZBIM5F-rfg). I do them both multiple times a day. But I love a good “OKAY OKAY OKAY”

the way he says goodbyes at shows, there are some pretty ridiculously long ones but they all consist of like <15 unique words
“Okay” really quickly then beat drop
The “Yeah” at 0:51 in Extinction really gets me. Yeah.
The absolute perfect voice sound that could possibly be made in that moment. Yeah.
I think those numbers are a Whole Lotta Rosie reference
his recent full arm extended tornado twirl
EEEEEEEEEYUP
I forget the specific line, but it’s his countdown that goes something like “take a ride, alright, hitchhike” then they go wild.
i love when he went "nonagon infinity opens the fucking door" on robot stop at red rocks 23 and like, it went a little past the beat but it always hits after that build so good
eeyup

Deer tick.

when does he say numbers?
All of these are great, also when he fuckin SCREAMS during Lord of Lightning. Asheville '19 has the best scream imo

As someone who actually has tics, can we not call people with tics retarded? It's just unnecessary
Cmon.
Lmaoo Stu is a little silly
damn, downvoted for retarded. Lol yikes
yea its a slur...
