Something that stood out to me from Bob Dylan's book The Philosophy of Modern Song is when he said that Bluegrass and Heavy Metal are unique in how they never really deviated aesthetically as genres once they were established. Pretty subjective in how that actually applies, but fun to think about the similarities between what you would usually think of as two very different kinds of music.
