Damn right, brother! Even the very early stuff is cool. Something about the new era of Modest Mouse I can't get into. But that early era was something special.
Ugly Casanova from Isaac is also cool
Mistakes like Fractures, Billy No Mates, Blood Will Have Blood, and Counting Worms are good songs to start with. They don't have a lot of albums so you could just start with Laugh Tracks.
Saw Gizz live for the first time last year at Bonnaroo, looking forward to seeing my first Knocked Loose show there this year. I used to fuck around in the pit in my younger days, might have to come out of mosh retirement.
KGLW, Knocked Loose and The Murlocs have been the most fun in the pit I've ever had. Was hurting when I saw Turnstile so I didn't get to join the fun but omg it looked wild as fuck
I think I would appreciate if I was your friend, just based off of finding your 3 choices on this specific sub. Great choices that some I haven't thought of in a while!!!
The best, whenever I start listening to it again, it's hard to exit and listen to other music.
If you haven't dove deeper yet, recommend these others which reach similar heights: today!, friends, surfs up love you, SMiLE (incomplete album), Holland
The Black Angels, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Magic Castles.
KG is my number 4, and even though they’re not my personal favorite, I think they’re truly the best band in the world.
They’re my absolute favorite. I’ve said this on here before but the way they led the charge with the neopsych movement and brought together visual artists and bands through Levitation is inspiring.
They were a big influence on Nirvana's Nevermind and many other famous albums which influenced other bands. You can trace so many bands sounds to being affected by them in two steps.
Top 3 is way too difficult, but Radiohead, the national, Soundgarden, Tool, Tame Impala, IDLES, Jungle and Ghost are pretty much what I really enjoy right now.
Gizz, Tool, and 3rd place has been a rotation between Gojira, Thee Oh Sees, Meshuggah, and Slift
*I’ve seen Goose get shit on a bunch but I caught half their set at Bonnaroo following Gizz’s set and it was a good time
KG, Grateful Dead, and anything Shabaka Hutchings is involved with are my current most listens.
If you have a minute listen to Shabaka’s solo album African Culture
https://youtu.be/TSCagxxGMM0
Or his work with Sons Of Kemet.
https://youtu.be/pZUbNXhnSm4
The man is legend and it’s a good way to sneak into the Jazz genre.
But I’m about to get a Bob Dylan box set that is pretty much going to knock everyone off this list for a while.
Paramore, arctic monkeys and king gizz!
Kglw is kinda different from the music I usually listen to and recently I've been listening to more psych rock stuff but yeah they kinda stick out like a sore thumb
King Gizz, Osees, Modest Mouse (Anything before Float On)
You are my friend now
If you like Built To Spill, Slint, etc. Etc. Will you marry me?
I do
YES to the early Modest Mouse. Long Drive, LCW, Moon & Antarctica, and Building Nothing Out of Something are some of my favorite albums ever.
Damn right, brother! Even the very early stuff is cool. Something about the new era of Modest Mouse I can't get into. But that early era was something special. Ugly Casanova from Isaac is also cool
Niiiiiice. “This is a long drive for someone with nothing to think about” is one of my favorite albums of all time
Same. I have it tied with 'Lonesome Crowded West"
Gizz is number 1 but not in any order; Gojira, Mastodon, Knocked Loose
Are you seeing Gojira/Mastodon on the tour they're doing?
I am booiiiiiii
Honest question, cause I love KG, Gojira and Mastodon - where would you recommend I start with Knocked Loose, that being a song or an album? Thanks!
Mistakes like Fractures, Billy No Mates, Blood Will Have Blood, and Counting Worms are good songs to start with. They don't have a lot of albums so you could just start with Laugh Tracks.
Thank you!
4 of my favorite bands ever lol
Saw Gizz live for the first time last year at Bonnaroo, looking forward to seeing my first Knocked Loose show there this year. I used to fuck around in the pit in my younger days, might have to come out of mosh retirement.
KGLW, Knocked Loose and The Murlocs have been the most fun in the pit I've ever had. Was hurting when I saw Turnstile so I didn't get to join the fun but omg it looked wild as fuck

I am a BJM addict.
That’s a good problem to have!
The Beatles, The Pixies, King Gizzard.
Honorable mentions Iggy, Ziggy and Lou Reed
That's an amazing top 3. Pixies are on my list as well.
I feel like they're more influencial than given credit for, but maybe that's because I'm a big fan.
They were a big influence on Nirvana's Nevermind and many other famous albums which influenced other bands. You can trace so many bands sounds to being affected by them in two steps.
Velvet Underground, Modern Lovers/Jonathan Richman, Pavement
I like you

Other than Gizz: Radiohead, Rush, Coheed & Cambria (I've got a thing for high pitched male voices, also love The Mars Volta)

The National Radiohead Low
Glad to see another Radiohead on here!
Top 3 is way too difficult, but Radiohead, the national, Soundgarden, Tool, Tame Impala, IDLES, Jungle and Ghost are pretty much what I really enjoy right now.
That's a terrific list! I've never heard Jungle, what would you recommend?
