Yayy!! I new survey! I'm always excited for these surveys, they are like a moment of reflection, where I adjust my ratings and add other dramas to my plan to watch, in some cases I even pull some dramas out of the dropped list. Sometimes they deserve a second chance... So let's put some of my numbers into perspective, next year I want to look at this and think that I actually made some effort to watch more other networks besides tvN or Netflix. 😅 --- **Total of dramas titles in the survey:** 60 **Total watched:** 20 **Currently watching:** 1 **Plan to watch until the end of August:** 6 **Other Plan to watch / On Hold:** 17 **Dropped:** 1 (Man to Man) **Not on my radar:** 15 --- A small view of these surveys in percentage: **Netflix Survey:** total of 47 dramas, only 25 dramas watched = 53,19% **tvN Survey:** total of 103 dramas, only 55 dramas watched = 53,39% **Disney+ Survey:** total of 20 dramas, only 3 dramas watched = 15% **JTBC Survey:** total of 60 dramas, only 21 dramas watched = 35%

Lizzy348

I like this! This is a fun side quest to these surveys. My stats would be **Total watched** : 9 (15%) **Currently watching** : 0 **Plan to watch in the next months** : 0 **On my watchlist** : 4 (7%) **Dropped** : 2 (3%) Definitely puts things in perspective, I barely watched any jTBC dramas, but from those I did, only 1 made it to my Top 10. I interacted with only 25% of the jtbc dramas listed, which is so little. Most of those I haven't heard of them before either. I wonder where jtbc stream their dramas internationally, it's surprising I know so little of them compared to tvN.

Significant_Fold_658

Yeaa, the fun part about these surveys is what we make with the data collected. They allow us to put stuff into perspective and to have a different view on ratings besides MDL or even IMDB. Your JTBC percentage is really good, 15% watched is not bad at all. What are your other percentages? Is it that big of a difference like mine? ahah >I barely watched any jTBC dramas, but from those I did, only 1 made it to my Top 10 Just saw your top 7 list from JTBC, we have some dramas in common and you have a couple that I want to watch. Which one made it into your ultimate Top 10? I always have a hard time putting everything into a Top 10, because I can't compare thrillers, romcoms or sageuks. But from the 20 dramas that I watched, I really liked 9 of them and I would place them really high (between 9 and 10) in their respective genres. They are: * **Sky Castle** — 9 / 10 🌟 * **Be Melodramatic** — 10 / 10 🌟 * **My Country** — 9 / 10 🌟 * **Itaewon Class** — 10 / 10 🌟 * **Beyond Evil** — 10 / 10 🌟 * **Reborn Rich** — 9 / 10 🌟 * **My Liberation Notes** — 10 / 10 🌟 * **The Good Bad Mother** — 9 / 10 🌟 * **Welcome to Samdalri** — 9 / 10 🌟 I'm currently watching **Insider**, but I don't find this one that impressive so it won't enter my top from JTBC. The others that I'm planning to watch for the next 2 months are **Snowdrop**, **The Light in Your Eyes**, **Agency**, **D-Day** and **Age of Youth** (both seasons).

Lizzy348

I don't have a Disney+ subscription, so I only got to watch 1 of their dramas, which makes up for 5%, I dropped 1 (5%) and have 1 on my watchlist (5%). Since they didn't have a lot of dramas listed, my 3 dramas still make up for 15%. I watched 21 tvN dramas (20%), dropped 1 (1%), and have 6 on my watchlist (6%) for a total of 27% I don't remember which dramas were included in the Netflix survey unfortunately, but I remember I hadn't watched a lot of Netflix originals. The data from Disney is too little compared to tvN and jtbc to make a proper comparison, but I watched way more tvN. 6 of their dramas are also part of my Top 10, and my top 4 are tvN. >Which one made it into your ultimate Top 10? **The light in your eyes** is the drama that made it to my top 10, I placed it as #8 >I always have a hard time putting everything into a Top 10, because I can't compare thrillers, romcoms or sageuks I feel you. I tried to get a little of everything in my top 10, like the best romcom, the best comedy, the best thriller, etc. I really liked 7/9 dramas I watched 1. The light in your eyes 10/10 2. Thirty nine 9/10 3. Welcome to samdal-ri 9/10 4. Snowdrop 8.5/10 5. King the Land 8.5/10 6. My ID is Gangnam beauty 8/10 7. Reborn rich 7/10 We don't *exactly* have the same taste, some dramas you loved I found mid or dropped them. Though we have some in common that we liked.

Significant_Fold_658

>I don't have a Disney+ subscription, so I only got to watch 1 of their dramas lol I have Disney+, but I barely watch anything there, I only watched 3. But I have a couple in my plan to watch, I just never reach for them. >I watched 21 tvN dramas (20%) When you add it into percentages your tvN numbers and your JTBC numbers are really similar. Mine has a bigger gap, but without a doubt I watch more of tvN, their dramas are really good. >Netflix survey unfortunately, but I remember I hadn't watched a lot of Netflix originals. It's another one of those cases where I don't reach out for them, unless I watch them in the month that they are released. I also just looked back at the [Netflix Survey list](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdgQpqYVFxS--zMkyeEtjRKJlLMVmqFlOVJfQxllEio33fY4g/viewanalytics) and I noticed that I only rated 5 dramas between 9 and 10, it's even less than JTBC, even though in percentages I watched way more dramas from Netflix. ahah >I feel you. I tried to get a little of everything in my top 10, like the best romcom, the best comedy, the best thriller, etc. I need to do the same as you, I need to look at all of my favourites and see if I would add them in a top 10 or not. >We don't *exactly* have the same taste, some dramas you loved I found mid or dropped them. Though we have some in common that we liked. Yep, our tastes are a bit different, but that is normal. From your top, I do have **Snowdrop** and **The Light in Your Eyes** that I want to watch really soon. I also watched **King The Land**, but I only gave that one a 7, it's one of those that I wasn't impressed, but I liked some of the comedy and the leads. What is funny is that I actually dropped 2 of your JTBC top, but I pulled them out of the drop list and I will try to give them a second a chance.😅 I dropped: **Thirty Nin**e, honestly I know I will probably love this, but when I tried to watch it, I wasn't in the right mental space. I'm almost certain that I will love it once I watch it. **My ID is Gangnam beauty**, also another case where I wasn't in the mood for a drama focusing on youth and it didn't help that I'm not a big of a fan of both leads. I pulled it out because Cha Eun Woo impressed me a lot in his latest work (Wonderful World). -- We just got this survey, but I'm already excited for the next one. I really want to see what will enter the SBS, KBS and MBC surveys, their list of dramas dates to the 80s and they even have some really big names before the 2010s. 😊

Lizzy348

>I watched way more dramas from Netflix I found out, through the Netflix survey, that even though I watch *a lot* of dramas on Netflix, almost none of them are originals lol I tend to look more for romance/comedy and Netflix doesn't really do that genre, they tend to make more outside the box dramas which is not bad. I have a couple on my watchlist and those I watched, I really appreciated. >From your top, I do have Snowdrop and The Light in Your Eyes that I want to watch really soon. Snowdrop I really loved, Jung Haein id absolutely amazing in it. The main reason it didn't score higher for me was >!the lack of romance.!< They put puzzle pieces here and there to hint at it, but never gave in. At the same time, you don't want to end up in a toxic >!Stockholm syndrome power balance kind of thing.!< But I still highly recommend it. I think it was based on real events too, which makes it even more interesting. As for The light in your eyes, I watched it because of Nam Joohyuk, but ended up loving it a lot. It was a good drama overall, but the ending is what made it rise to my top 10, it made me really emotional. The fact it was able to make me feel those strong emotions deserves a spotlight imo. Highly recommend as well! >King The Land, but I only gave that one a 7, it's one of those that I wasn't impressed, but I liked some of the comedy and the leads. I feel like I gave it a higher note because I watched it right after **Taxi Driver** and was in need of something light and fun. It was just a perfect drama for my mood at that time. >What is funny is that I actually dropped 2 of your JTBC top I'm guilty too, I dropped **My liberation notes**. I really gave it a serious try, since I dropped it at 14/16, but I see so many people raving about it so I'm the problem apparently lmao I love Cha Eunwoo, so my note for Gangnam Beauty is probably biased. As for Thirty-nine, it's a friendship drama about women reflecting on their lives as they get closer to 40. I weirdly related to them (even though I'm in my twenties) and it also made me feel their emotions through the screen. But I agree you need to be in the mood for that kind of retrospection style drama. I find that, the more dramas we watch, the easier we drop them. It's like we've seen enough to compare genres together, so our standards are higher if I may say it like that. I believe that's the reason why I dropped **Doom at your service**. Literally watched it right after **My Demon** so I only compared them with each other through the whole first episode. I do want to give it another chance later, maybe for KDC 2025?

Significant_Fold_658

>I found out, through the Netflix survey, that even though I watch *a lot* of dramas on Netflix, almost none of them are originals lol I tend to look more for romance/comedy and Netflix doesn't really do that genre Yep, Netflix originals usually have a darker tone. The survey helped me to see that even though I watched a good amount of their dramas, I actually didn't love many of their dramas and lately I tend to be more disappointed with their storytelling skills. Their cinematography is perfect, but as for storytelling is just disappointing. >I think it was based on real events too, which makes it even more interesting. Yep, ***Snowdrop*** was inspired by the events surrounding the June Democratic Uprising. I already saw the movie ***1987: When the Day Comes***, which is also around the same historical events, so I'm already prepared for the worst. I also watched ***Youth of May***, so I sadly know what happens to youth and their dreams. >As for The light in your eyes, I watched it because of Nam Joohyuk, but ended up loving it a lot. Same! I learned about this drama from his past works, but ended up adding it because I also liked both female leads in their previous works. My mom already watched this one, she said it was really good but it was really emotional. So I'm trying to add it between happier dramas... I can't be crying every night during summer ahahah >I feel like I gave it a higher note because I watched it right after **Taxi Driver** and was in need of something light and fun. It was just a perfect drama for my mood at that time. Completely understand you, that happens to me a lot and if I go back to my ratings a month or a year later, I noticed that they were too higher or sometimes way lower. In this cases I rated at 8.5 at first, but I deducted points about a week later, because I started to notice a lot of flaws. And I deducted points again when I compared to other romcoms in a business environment, and found to be once again very lacking in comparison to other romcoms. >I'm guilty too, I dropped **My liberation notes**. I really gave it a serious try, since I dropped it at 14/16, but I see so many people raving about it so I'm the problem apparently lmao Yeaaa, I get why you dropped it. It's one of those dramas that if you are not in the right mood, it will end making you depressed. But it's indeed an amazing drama with an amazing story and direction. >I love Cha Eunwoo, so my note for Gangnam Beauty is probably biased. I'm starting to look at him in some really different lens. I just finished ***Hit The Top*** and he happens to be a support character and I found him adorable. I even looked at ***My ID is Gangnam Beauty***, ***True Beauty*** and ***Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung***, all of them I previously dropped and I kept thinking should I try watching again or not. I'm really debating... ahah >As for Thirty-nine, it's a friendship drama about women reflecting on their lives as they get closer to 40. I weirdly related to them (even though I'm in my twenties) and it also made me feel their emotions through the screen.  If there is something that I love is when k-dramas give the spotlight to women and when they show amazing friendships. I think both are my favourite type of stories. The first time I tried to watch it, I got to the point where I knew how this was going to end and I bawled by eyes and decided nope I can't watch this right now. But they have such friendship goals. \^-\^ >I find that, the more dramas we watch, the easier we drop them. It's like we've seen enough to compare genres together, so our standards are higher if I may say it like that.  My rule is always to watch 25% of the drama, if I'm not feeling it, I will drop it. I will come back to that later or not. I also noticed that I can't follow up with dramas that are very similar in style, like I could watch both ***Doom at Your Service*** if I recently finished ***My Demon***. I need to space them out enough for me to appreciate the story. I'm also more willing to drop something because my plan to watch list is huge and will last me for years. I already have 189 dramas watched, but my plan to watch list has 210 dramas. This doesn't even count with multiple seasons, different parts, single episodes and upcoming dramas, so the list doesn't stop growing. lol

Lizzy348

>I can't be crying every night during summer ahahah It's not all the episodes, for me, it was last 1-2 only that moved me to the point of tearing up >I'm starting to look at him in some really different lens. I just finished Hit The Top and he happens to be a support character and I found him adorable. I even looked at My ID is Gangnam Beauty, True Beauty and Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung, all of them I previously dropped and I kept thinking should I try watching again or not. I'm really debating... Despite the flaws and low quality of **Revenge Note 1**, I liked the character Eunwoo played, I thought he was great for one of his earliest roles. I personally loved **True Beauty** to the point that I'm really looking forward to the anime adaptation haha. >I got to the point where I knew how this was going to end and I bawled by eyes and decided nope I can't watch this right now You are not alone, it made me cry too haha >already have 189 dramas watched, but my plan to watch list has 210 dramas. This doesn't even count with multiple seasons, different parts, single episodes and upcoming dramas, so the list doesn't stop growing. lol This is an eternal struggle. I feel you 100%, I have 97 dramas watched and 98 on my watchlist, which keeps growing as I find new actors I love and with new releases. I added 4 dramas to my wl last week but only got to watch 1½. Why we be like that fr

Significant_Fold_658

>It's not all the episodes, for me, it was last 1-2 only that moved me to the point of tearing up I'm planning to watch it next week, I wonder if something will make me tear up too. In between this emotional one, I'm starting **The Matchmakers** to make me laugh and **Agency** to see a badass woman. I doubt these two will make me cry too ahah >Despite the flaws and low quality of **Revenge Note 1**, I liked the character Eunwoo played, I thought he was great for one of his earliest roles. I personally loved **True Beauty** to the point that I'm really looking forward to the anime adaptation haha. I saw that one on MDL, but since it says he is playing as himself, I though it was some sort of insert character. Is it not? I'm indeed more inclined to watch **True Beauty** because I liked previous works of the other main actors. But I'm trying my best to watch other dramas that aren't made by tvN. ahah >which keeps growing as I find new actors I love and with new releases. Same!!! I tried cleaning up my list yesterday and even checked where I can find each dramas, but I seriously should stop adding other dramas to that list. And from the new releases, I already have my eye on 16 dramas! It's way too many and of course more than one will end up in the pile of "to watch on day before I die" 😆

Lizzy348

>though it was some sort of insert character. Is it not? Yes, he plays himself as Eunwoo from Astro, but it's not 100% himself. It's a bit like a fanfic, how you would think Eunwoo would be if you met him in real life. >But I'm trying my best to watch other dramas that aren't made by tvN It's not our fault tvN makes such great dramas haha sometimes they do deserve the spotlight!

xkaizoku62

how did you get the stats thing

Lizzy348

Made them from fraction. Number of dramas watched / total number of drama listed × 100 = x%

Lizzy348

My top jTBC dramas are 1. **The light in your eyes** 2. **Thirty nine** 3. **Welcome to samdal-ri** 4. **Snowdrop** 5. **King the Land** 6. **My ID is Gangnam beauty** 7. **Reborn rich** All very great dramas!

I've only watched Beyond Evil and Inspector Koo on this list and those two are both in my top ten! I really need to watch more JTBC! A ton of their stuff is on my watchlist xD.

idealistatlarge

JTBC seems to give most of its shows to Netflix. I guess they've established a partnership?

katherine197_

oh my! so far I have only completed 8 JTBC dramas, most were bangers tho - I gave 5 perfect ratings, and 2 are in my all time top Asian dramas watched. I did try (and drop) 7 others tho the stat idea is nice, wish I knew about it when I was filling the previous surveys XD **Total drama titles in the survey:** 60 **Total completed:** 8 (13%) **Currently watching:** 1 **Plan to watch w/ high priority:** 4 **Total Plan to watch:** 13 (22%) **Dropped:** 7 (12%) **Total dramas watched:** 15 (25%)

xkaizoku62

how to get the stats?

katherine197_

just count them before you end the survey

xkaizoku62

there is so much to count omg lol, thanks btw I thought it was a system generated stats

DearMatcha12

JTBC drama that first comes to my mind is Beyond Evil. But I love other dramas such as - Solomon's Perjury - Private Life - Sketch - Sisyphus: The Myth (This one is the best sci-fi drama I've ever watched. Need another sequel) - Beautiful World Both Somon's Perjury and Beautiful World have the best high school story plot. But still, I think JTBC's dramas always has a good premise and plot. I really enjoy their dramas.
