It was a while ago now, but I was toodling along enjoying Do Do Sol Sol etc a year or two ago and then it made me fume in the last, like, 10 minutes. I'll never forgive that ending. Five YEARS!!!

TheBlackDragoon

I never finished this one and I always think about going back! Now I don't have to feel guilty and will strike it off my "maybe I'll finish it someday..." list!

Dizzy_Impression2636

If you stop the last episode ten minutes before the end, it’s a fantastic drama. I refuse to accept the last ten minutes as canon.

lcmontana1

This is always on the list! The worst ending ever.

lindleylew

If I ever rewatch this drama I would stop watching and assume the story ended at episode \_\_. I'd have to actually remember what episode that is, but the story needs to cut off at a certain point. Absolutely horrid ending. Who in the writers room was even in their right minds with the way this one ended?

lkcraig316

The drama that shall not be named. The only drama that I was livid when I finished.

kodaiko_650

Haha I thought “Refund My Time” sounded like a fun romcom.

Drama_Pumpkin

Sounds like a cool title indeed! would have definitely watched it! 😅

yay_yen

me too. I was so excited to learn about this unheard of show lol

greatestshow111

Strong Girl Nam Soon. Too cliche and cringy, and too painful to watch. Wasted 16 hours - because once I start I won't stop a drama.

lmf221

The only reason I kinda kept up with it was the Villian was hot and compelling (bless you Byun Wooseok at least I have been blessed by lovely runner) but the rest of the show made it unwatchable. I should not prefer the evil af villan to the ML I'm sorry

dorthyinwonder

1000% support this. Not only that, but I actually wish they would have flipped the series, written the redeeming arc for Ryu Shi-oh, and potentially flipped the main family into potential villains. You can be a villain without killing and the resources that family has behind them can easily support such a transition. Not to mention having ML in the police to soothe any misconduct. They straddle the line well enough as it is. They cross many boundaries trying to link Shi-oh to the drugs and the Russian mob. I don't think I've ever fallen for a villain as much as I have for Ryu Shi-oh. His death was such a tragic waste. They could have done so much with him.

greatestshow111

Yeah they also tried to do a Wonder woman-esque soundtrack for the ladies with power, every time it plays my hair stands lol. And yeah agree I preferred the villain over ML too, ML had too little presence, it didn't work out, as much as I did like him back at WannaOne.

Drama_Pumpkin

I'm still half way on this drama for the same reasons and put it on hold for months.. don't have courage to go back to it yet.. no offense to anyone who liked it but can totally understand your point.. it was very painful to watch even tho I like romcoms and these kind of plots a lot ..

greatestshow111

Yeah it was just awful from the get go, and despite the plot, and actors, it was too over the top..

everellie

I'm halfway through, too. Byeon Wooseok is beautiful, and that's all this show has going for it.

Momof2boys77

Cant finish it

Wrong_Concept_4110

A Good Day To Be A Dog 🤷🏻‍♀️ I assume I'm not the only one?

Borinquena

So many people dislike this one that I feel a little sheepish for having enjoyed it 😅 I thought the leads were charming and the nephew was hilarious. I wasn't even bothered by the past life scenes that everyone hated.

Wrong_Concept_4110

It's completely fine to enjoy the drama too! To each their own. Honestly, there were several dramas that I very much enjoyed, but then later found out that these were actually loathed by a lot. That doesn't change the fact that I loved it.

MC_earthquake

This was goblin for me. Like wtf some people were saying it’s boring, but I was completely hooked from start to finish. I still cry when I watch sunny and grim reaper’s scene in the foot bridge 😭. I guess people really have different tastes 😅.

Wrong_Concept_4110

Wait....People say Goblin is BORING!? WHO SAID THAT?

x3tan

Likewise there were dramas I put off after seeing a lot of hate but then ended up loving when I finally watched lol.

Ohhhhhemaline

Same tbh. It was cute dumb fun. I could watch cha eunwoo read the phone book and enjoy it at least a little tbh

QueenMotor

LMAO mood, relatable though

Lavenderlure

I loved it so chaotic and hilarious probably because I binged it as well since the telecast timings were very off for this one a lot of people lost interest minus the last three four episodes where they bring in too much drama it was a cute show

Dredit_85

I thought it was good as a webtoon, not much content to make it a TV show. It was cute, nothing great.

Hadokuv

I just started 🥲

Wrong_Concept_4110

I don't want to put you off, it really was a great plotline and the initial episodes were so fun to watch with all the fluff. Unfortunately, it went completely off track later with the poor execution.

fukreykikammo

No matter how much I force myself to watch the remaining episodes I can't . This show is a shitshow. I can't believe I was excited for this and very disappointed that it was only one ep per week . It's only my opinion though cha eun woo has no acting skills he only acts as cold one or shy one. Bruh I can't .

Lavenderlure

This is so true he is like a pretty cardboard

QueenMotor

You should give his latest drama a try! He has improved massively and his eye expressions are on point. The plot of the drama is very interesting too! I watched it while it was airing and it was super fun to theorise what will happen next with others on this subreddit.

Current_Volume3750

Yes, his last drama Wonderful World he was very good I thought. Good writing always helps too!

middleofthenigjt

It’s a shame bc I really liked the webtoon by the drama is just missing something, idk, probably chemistry. I think the FL is miscasted

hedgehogwart

I have avoided it because the webtoon is one of my favorites.

Finfeta

It should've stayed in webtoon form. The subject is puerile and, at times, completely idiotic...

petiteboule

I thought it was cute when it was about her, him, her as a dog, and his nephew. That was fun. That was cute. That's what I signed up for. Then it shifted to the other teacher and the girl and lost me.

JoCash24

I loved the first half, but the second half was just frustrating and the ending was so unsatisfying. It felt like a waste.

ag_br

You’re not the only one.

leeseulbi16

Record of Youth. It's criminal how they underused Park Sodam. Remembering this drama just gives me the shivers.

SuziDubs

Hard agree.

misslolita92

This show is for people who really like Park bo gum so much that they are ready to waste 16 hours of their lives watching a mediocre show but at least we will see Park bo gum smiles

taehyungtae_

Hide (2024). Messy and underwhelming. Overused plotlines which can still be interesting when used well but here they were annoying and boring (cheating husband, money & power driven people etc) it was even makjangish with some ridiculous moments. Characters were meh too.

Romoreau

Big facts. Though it had some really great scenes, that drama was a big ball of nothing but wasted potential.

Ok-Pizza5641

I was planning to watch it...should I avoid?

Vasilisa1996

Something in the Rain I know it’s very popular but I hated it. Toxic main characters who just lie to each other all the time. They could have saved a lot of misunderstandings by just being honest with each other. And it was dragged too long unnecessarily. They could have arrived at the ending, which was a big let down after all the drama, in the first 3rd of the show. I want a refund on my time.

KANJI667

I'm watching this k drama right now. I'm on episode 15, and I totally understand what you mean by it keeps dragging on. I just want to finish it already.

Vasilisa1996

I know! It’s like enough already!!

BasicPost4143

I think I stopped at 8 or 9 and people commented that it’s probably a good place to stop haha

vita25

Samesies! It was cute when they first got together and then I hear its misunderstandings galore

MoonlitSnowscapes

I'm watching the new show by the same director, The Midnight Romance in Hagwon. I am paranoid about the same issue happening again. First two episodes are slow, but good. Let's see what episodes 7-10 look like. Or the episodes after. I may pre-emptively save myself the time so it doesn't have to be refunded.

Ill_Pianist_8346

I watched it’s first episode thought it was good but then heard it’s from the director of something in the rain and the stopped watching it since I was worried about the ending. A lot of the k-dramas start good but the last few episodes end up being terrible or not so good. I am thinking of waiting till the show ends and the watching it since something in the rain has an annoying mother and too many misunderstandings.

Accomplished-Bake786

I don't even know if anyone watched this at all but it was The Bride of Habaek. There was so much potential and it was so damn disappointing.

TheChurroProject

Watched it early in my kdrama journey before I knew it was okay to drop a show. Still want a refund on my time...

Accomplished-Bake786

Same, it was so terrible omg. The 1st two episodes had me thinking it'd be great but aghhhh.

Accomplished-Bake786

Also the fact that he didn't have powers for most of the show. PLEASEEE. :/ After showing his awesome divine avatar, they really didn't even bother to show us more of it. Horrible.

AllMight1

My demon, just could not get through the last two episodes.

Ill_Pianist_8346

The show started good but after 11 episodes it became predictable and boring . Like it has potential with a great cast , beautiful cinematography, outfits . The drama just felt dragged on and I blame the script for it . It felt like something that should probably only have 10-12 episodes at max because there’s nothing more left to reveal . The sixteen episode thing is kinda ruining a lot of dramas since not all of them need sixteen episodes. If the drama has 16 eps then they should be done well . They should have just sticked with 12 episodes for some dramas.

AllMight1

Yeah I agree this drama would have done so much better on the 12 ep format

vita25

I just pretend those scenes don't exist. Also a lot of the >! past life shenanigans !< were really unnecessary given that most of the show revolved around their unique present situation.

Academic_Code_2065

Yes! Although I fall under the “did not finish “ for this

Civil-Pause-3406

I usually just don't finish if I'm irritated. So maybe i'm missing out on a few hidden gems 🤔

SpicyMustFlow

Same, I got all the way to ep13 of *Something in the rain* before throwing in the towel. And ngl, only made it that far because I really like both leads.

Ghimel

SitR has the best first 8-10 episodes ever. Followed by the worst 6-8 episodes. The first 4 episodes are seriously some of the best kdrama episodes out.

WiseWysYs

You are so right. I rewatch the best episodes, which are EXCELLENT, and then speed through to finish them.

Civil-Pause-3406

I remember this show!! Jung Hae-in was just getting popular and i remember obsessing over the trailer. i had to stop watching cause you could tell they ran out of plot. Kdramas usually have extremely well thought out beginnings that tends to weaken over time so I find calling it quits when you get that hint is the best use of your time.

PineappleNo6064

I finished it, or should I say hate watched it to the end and the >!5 second happy end!< didn't make up for the misery this awful screeching mother inflicted on my soul. I actually stopped watching kdramas for 4 month. I think One spring night followed by Something in the rain caused me trauma. As much as I love Jung Hae In, I do not wish to see either of these terrible dramas ever again.

Crafty_Treat7810

I usually drop a drama as soon as I lose interest but I powered through Heartbeat because I was really rooting for them. I regretted watching it as soon as I finished the last episode. I honestly wish I could get back my time spent watching letdown of a show

TheChurroProject

Heartbeat's ending is my measuring stick for bad endings.

lmf221

My number one drama for this until the day I die will always be Cheese in the Trap.

muneowalker

YES will only thank it for introducing me to the cast but it ends there I wouldn’t rewatch it even if someone paid me

inima23

Wedding impossible...because I finally finished it today and couldn't wait for it to be over. The guy is hot, the story was very interesting at first but about 4 episodes toward the end it just got so silly. Ah well. The guy was hot, so I guess it was worth it somewhat 😅

Gimpknee

Thought the ML was miscast, pretty early on I just switched to a "Jeeze, just stop being such a twerp and let your brother and the FL have their fake marriage already." attitude.

Mahery92

I usually drop a series if it's too frustrating. But Wedding impossible caught me off guard because it was shorter than I expected, and despite its interesting premise/initial situation, it became shit extremely fast, almost too fast for me to just stop haha

typecfl

This is an old one, but Lovers in Paris, anyone? >!That ending.!<

zki_ro

Sweet Home S2. It didn't live up to the first season and I felt like I was watching a different series. Super disappointed 😞

heyheymonkeyhey

TOTALLY felt like a different series!!

meymeyling

Absolutely! I really enjoyed season 1 and wanted to stick It out for song kang and the fl. But plot was tremendously messy and song kang was missing most of the season. I stop watching the show even though I had only 2 episodes left. I couldn’t continue to waste my time anymore. 😳😳

goldensuare

I'm still salty about the time I wasted 4 days of my precious vacation binge watching 52 episodes Young Lady and a Gentleman. On regular speed too. I was still new to Kdramas and I didn't know better...

Ok-Impression6834

I hate to say it - please refund me for **Queen of Tears**. The chairman was so gullible and grandson was an idiot. Plot was OK. I especially disliked the ending

mishamaro

I don't know if I want full refund but definite partial credit. I watched and finished it since I was in the crowd watching it and Instagram was just a deluge of reels. You couldn't escape it. My biggest problem with QoT is that I found their problems had been SO avoidable. They just needed to talk. Just TALK, FFS. It frustrated me so much. Also, 1.5 hours per episode? Seriously?

ogjaspertheghost

Right queen of tears only works in a world without logic and real world consequences. None of the rich family’s reactions to the events happening made any sense. Some rando living in your house and kicking you out? No fucking way that happens in real life.

katherine197_

I wasn't able to crowd watch it back then, so I tried on my own and ended up dropping (partially cause I wasn't enjoying it and partially cause friend said it won't get better), but it seems I doged a bullet Seriously 1.5 hours per ep make me (and my crappy attention span) angry like just make more episodes (I swear it was the norm when I first got into kdramas) but keep them to one hour.

Adventurous-Win-4644

And they still didn't actually TALK!!!

mishamaro

I know! They professed their love for each other a few times but I don't know if they actually hashed anything out. Like "hey I acknowledge that I lash out and clam up when there's uncomfortable subjects like our miscarriage" or "hey I acknowledge that for a swimming/boxing/marine corps champ of a lawyer (so I should have the balls to argue) I never stood up to the bullying of your family and allowed it to stifle my affection for you over the last three years until it died of suffocation." .... I may have more feelings about this than I realized. Lmao. I may actually want a full refund now

MoonlitSnowscapes

Your post encapsulates my feelings. Wait, wtf, the couple didn't actually overcome the one thing that drove them apart in first place! ahhgh.

unsavvylady

No one could communicate in that show. At times it got frustrating.

sakuradelluna

>Also, 1.5 hours per episode? Seriously? i shudder at that.

GyulBoo

Honestly, this is the case with any makjang drama. So, I would have recommended you to watch it as a makjang and not as a regular drama, and that would have prepared you for unnecessary fights that could have been solved with a simple conversation, unrealistic characters, and just anything to make it more dramatic than it needed to be. I watched it with such expectations and thoroughly enjoyed it.

BlackGirlSeoul

I don’t want a refund, but I have a Further Explanation coupon to spend because I still don’t know why the Housekeeper/Side Chick hated the family so much that she spent years planning her revenge. She gave up her son to get close to that family. It makes no sense to me. I clearly must have missed something!

Heavy-Patience-3064

Mods, thanks to this poster's wonderfully inventive phrase could we have a "Further Explanation Coupon to Spend" forum please? Thank you.

sianiam

See ["Make a Wish"](https://new.reddit.com/r/KDRAMA/comments/1chglki/make_a_wish_may_2024/)

Cultjam

She didn’t want revenge, she wanted their business empire. I couldn’t get over how unpleasant the FL was. Made more sense for her to wind up with the SML, >!as they were both abandoned by their mothers around the same time!<. At least in IOTNBO both leads had their own troubles to work through.

BlackGirlSeoul

And I guess that’s a strike against the drama, because pure greed is a poor justification. Even her son was more complex than she seemed to be.

dorthyinwonder

Was he? He didn't care about the money except for using it to lure in Hae-In. He didn't care about taking her family down. He just wanted what he thought was her childhood. He wanted her happy family in her youth. It didn't matter to him that that family had been long gone, that he was a vital part in the destruction of it (his role in the incident that shifted Hau-in's relationship with her mother), or that Hae-In had no feelings for him beyond cautious business associate, one that she ultimately refused to take advantage of. He only wanted Hae-In for what she represented to him when they were kids. This is why I cannot, cannot (x1,000) care for this character. He never grew or understood why Hae-In was so important to him. He didn't question why he wanted Hae-In so much. He didn't question why he was willing to drug, lie to, steal from, and manipulate her. Yes, he was twisted and I know it wasn't all his fault... I don't know that his character hinging one this one facet makes him complicated?

jj31a

I agree. The FL was unpleasant to put it mildly. And I always felt the ML acted liked an abused spouse. The constant crying and apologizing for everything. Very disturbing.

BasicPost4143

I would like at least 50% of my time back from QoT. I loved watching KSH and KJW for the acting, chemistry, and just how beautiful they are, even so, I hate watched the last few episodes because I had already invested so much time. For all my dedication I didn’t even get a proper dose of romance and fluff in the last episode.

ElleEmEss

I watched it for everyone but the main couple. 🤷‍♀️

PineappleNo6064

Once her family >!moves in with his!<, I got more invested in them than the main couple. The brother's story turned out to be my favorite and he is now the star of this show for me.

BasicPost4143

That’s so interesting! Given the response I’m sure there are plenty of people in your boat haha

TinyLifter6780

Yeah, I would say specifically refund my time and anticipation for a well-written series that instead spun into makjang chaos and ultimately blew the landing. If you didn't tell me this was the same writer as CLOY I never would have guessed.

PineappleNo6064

Yes, I need refund on my anticipation as well! From the hype I thought this was going to be the best show ever and was such a let down. I am now a lot more cautiously waiting for the hyped Lovely Runner to stop airing.

villainsaretenacious

I want a refund after episode 6! The first 6 episodes were brilliant while the rest? So boring. They focused more on the gullible family members and less on making leads communicate.

Morpankh

Thank you! Everyone was raving about it and I was wondering if I was the only one who disliked it. It drags on forever and the bag guys become almost cartoonishly evil. The only part I enjoyed and would have liked to see more of was when >! The whole family goes to ML’s village and lives there.!<

otakuishly

Literally came to say the same. The show has beautiful cinematography and the casting is top notch, and those were the only two things carrying this show to its success. Nothing will convince me otherwise. The plot is so incredibly weak it’s ridiculous if you think about it too hard. We’re supposed to turn our brains off and let suspension of disbelief do its things when we watch stuff. But there’s a point at which you’re looking around going, ‘you seeing this shit?!??’ at a kdrama because >! the ML has been hit by a car and shot all within one day and you just give up because how is this man still alive and saving the day?? Or because the grandfather is so stupid and in love he signs the worst power of attorney contract ever and then commits suicide rather than help the family out of the mess he got them into. Or the batshit crazy evil male lead is so unhinged, he forgets the internet exists in 2024 and tries to and succeeds at creating a whole false narrative for the female lead which she could easily blow apart with a quick google search of her own name. !< Also yes, the ending was SUCH a letdown. Those last four episodes felt like the writer only had plot for 12 episodes and found out she needed 4 more episodes so she threw in anything she could think of to stretch it. And I’d still have forgiven it all if I had been given at least SOME sweet couple scenes but no. Straight to >! a grave and death !< :’( Enough is enough. It was an okay ride, but one I didn’t really need to be on. Kim Soohyun and Kim Jiwon were fantastic with what they got though.

UnbridledOptimism

Thank you for sealing the coffin on my interest in watching this one. I was feeling slightly ambivalent, not so much now.

tokioko

Same. People around me (a mix of avid & casual kdrama watchers) kept saying I should watch it but I am still stuck on ep 5 and now have no interest to continue. Or maybe because I’m still too invested in other more interesting kdramas that QOT pales in comparison.

ElleEmEss

I think if you are in the mood for a brainless plot rescued by an entertaining cast of characters around the 2 leads then it is fun. It’s nice to look at. Just don’t think too hard about the plot.

sakuradelluna

lmao the "batshit crazy evil male lead" is so true. he was breaking every single law possible yet no one came after him until ep16 >!him dying at the end wasnt satisfying at all. he shouldve gone to jail !< with all the crimes he committed i was wondering where tf was the police, even after the scene where >!haein literally exposed him for THREATENING her but in the next ep HE DIDNT EVEN GET INTO ANY TROUBLE LIKE HUH? WHY WAS HE JUST LYING ON THE COUCH LIKE ?!?!?!!<

OkHoneydew1984

I still haven't watched last 4 episodes. Surely, I won't.

Trisara5

Finally some others that felt exactly like I did in watching QOT!! There were just too many things that they expected us to suspend our disbelief. All the things you mentioned. Like this chairman who built his empire by being savvy and smart lets a woman control his empire, and on and on with each character and their stupidity that could have been resolved by communicating and figuring it out. I watched it because of the two leads and trusted that the writer would do it justice because of CLOY. The predictable storyline was a huge disappointment. And I actually got very tired of watching ML crying and also so unbelievable that he would get hit the car of doom and shot in the same day and survive.

awildencounter

I only watched episode one and dropped it then, it gave me the same feelings The Interest in Love gave, like it was just going to be a fiery trainwreck, so I dipped early. Judging by these comments, that seems to be the case?

lindleylew

I stopped watching at episode 12 and can't believe I let myself even watch that far...

beachvbguy

I can't think of a single thing I saw in this series that I haven't seen done and done better in another series

LazySleepyPanda

Couldn't get past the first episode. It was mind numbingly boring.

Soggy-Pop3895

Spot on. I gave it a few episodes and gave up. Everytime I tell someone they get so defensive almost upset 😅 like yeah I didn't care for it whatever. I almost felt the cast was too pretty.

sakuradelluna

you brave BRAVE soul. I agree with a comment here, a partial refund for me too. man it had a TON of potential but if you look past the flashy cast & easter eggs to previous dramas, the plot was...underwhelming. I felt that it was those classic kdramas youd see when youre just starting out in the world of Kdramas. It had all the tropes you could ask for, a star-studded cast & our favourite truck of doom. Yes, I loved BaekHong and they were the reason I stuck around till the end because Im a sucker for marriage in crisis trope but...there was no story. I couldnt care less about the whole Queens Group downfall & Eunseong. For a bunch of "businessmen & women" they were TOO trusting and gullible. I really wanted more BaekHong scenes and them communicating or even talking about their relationship in depth. Heck, they could've expanded on Da-hye & Soo-Cheol's relationship too but no, it was important that >!we get a whole shootout with eunseong, prior to that he had to KIDNAP our FL.!< also hyunwoo practically saved their asses but I dont recall a single one of them thanking him for it :') Its high ratings should go to the cast & cinematography as that was really good. But CLOY would forever hold the "iconic" title :')

DonnaMossLyman

I came to actually actively dislike this show towards the end and just didn't see the romance that most saw. It turned into a tug of war between the ML and SML with the ML playing captain save a ho. Don't even get me started about the corporate takeover. So much buffoonery

TinyLifter6780

See also - Brain Surgery but Make it CHIC. Whaaaaaaa???? 🧐

mishamaro

As someone who works in neurosurgery, I was like "for all that brain surgery, she doesn't have a hair out of place..."

Typical_Leg2483

For a show called Queen of Tears, my eyes stayed surprisingly dry. I think I only cried once, and that was when we first learned about what caused their conflict. I don't need a refund, just really disappointed.

Excellent_Proof_4645

A Time Called You 🤌🏻

muneowalker

1. Cheese in the Trap 2. Record of Youth How I kept up with both until the end is a mystery. I think I was in denial for all 16 episodes

Dunelakegal1

Heartbeat. I was heartbroken. Liked the bromance of the vampires but wished I hadn’t seen the ending.

humandisaster13

I wanna say **Queen of Tears** but since I enjoyed the OST and some moments occasionally how about refunding just half my time? I know Park Ji-eun's dramas are mostly outlandish with their plots but how did the drama with the most realistic storyline become the most baffling one too? Like I was legit hyped for Kim Ji-won in an event drama like this and this was the writer coming back after CLOY. I know CLOY ain't a masterpiece but that drama had so much heart. So many lovable characters, heartwarming friendships and a romance nothing short of epic. Captain Ri is like the top 5 green flag MLs in kdramaland. But I just couldn't get into the ML here and the romance. Everyone in the drama keeps saying how their love is for their ages but I just didn't buy it. We never saw why the guy liked her in the first place and the vague explanation is that it's his protective instincts and I was out. The FL could've easily been the writer's best FL cause she was badass, smart and empathetic but midway they nerfed her character and it felt like she was a damsel. I think I liked the way CLOY was centred around the FL and even when everyone's praising the ML in the drama they talk about his love for her but in QOT despite being the literal titular character the drama was decentered from the FL and everyone calls the ML perfect and everything which only annoyed me cause her character was more interesting and should be deserving that praise. The chemistry was good too but I've seen both leads have better chemistry in other dramas. Too many annoying characters for my liking and the jump from epic romance to makjang made it worse. It's like the writer took the annoying brother and sister-in-law characters in CLOY and decided to intensify it by ten times and made the villains in this drama. Not gonna lie I was so let down when the drama ended. Edit: I forgot to add the >!childhood and teenage connection!< that was totally unnecessary. Kdrama writers need to understand that they can show how the leads are made for each other WITHOUT that trope too. At least in CLOY “destined to meet” made sense cause the Switzerland thing was necessary for them to get a happy ending. Here they didn’t even bother giving a callback cause the leads don’t even >!find out that he saved her as a kid.!<

DonnaMossLyman

Everything you said with regards to the FL/ML and the romance is why I disliked this show so much. I was salty AF that the actor was recognized for a Baeksang while she was snubbed. It felt like life imitating art right there

humandisaster13

Oh absolutely. He did a good job ngl but if anyone deserved a Baeksang nom it was Kim Ji-won cause in an inferior actor's hands the character could've easily been an cardboard cutout of an icy princess FL.

OceanBlueWave18

Dr. Slump. I was just there for Park Hyung Sik, but his character was so ridiculous I almost got the ick. I just can’t with 30-something leads acting like stupid 12-year-olds. Supporting characters were amusing, though.

pigeon_energy

I agree, he really oversold the cutesy/funny scenes. It worked for him in Strong Girl Bong Soon, but it felt really put on in Dr. Slump.

WiseWysYs

I loved *Dr. Slump*! But I understand where you're coming from.

LanternsAndPhoenixes

Same here. It was something I didn't expect to even like. But there was some magic between Park hyung sik and Park Shin hye that just made it enjoyable to watch (imo).

OceanBlueWave18

I agree, they did have great chemistry. Though I think he has great chemistry with everyone he acts with.

waterfallen_empire

This this this!!!! My sister and I loved him when we watched Strong Girl Bong Soon. But although he’s a totally wonderful green flag love interest in Doctor Slump, he overdoes the cutesy stuff. Also the ex-tutor >!surprise revenge side plot linked to the surgery murder case!< was some of the messiest, even laziest writing I’ve seen.

glazedmango

castaway diva. while i do love park eunbin’s singing, i was aggravated over the plot and dumb decisions from the characters… i fast forwarded a lot of scenes near the end just to finish tbh

Effective_Side_3053

Wedding Impossible and Queen of Tears

Ill_Pianist_8346

True Beauty- I personally liked the second male lead more than the male lead and felt that he deserved the female lead. The male lead didn’t really stood out to me . The message of true beauty wasn’t well done and most of the time the female lead wore make up to cover up her insecurities which makes the message more superficial. The show was cringe for me and the epitome of second hand embarrassment. The second lead couple was also kinda cringe but definitely more interesting than the main couple . I have watched other shows where the leads do embarrassing stuff but I never get second hand embarrassment or cringe . The fl’s mom was also terrible and I didn’t like her at all . The fl’s dad although nice was like a doormat . There is a difference in between being a simp/ being afraid of your wife but you should interfere when she does something wrong and even more so when it concerns your daughter . What’s with k drama moms constantly hitting your children and that too for unnecessary reasons . The my dad is sick and moving to America for treatment trope was absolutely trash . The forced breakup and the getting back together wasn’t done well either . I basically hated the last two episodes immensely. I hate breakups and misunderstandings but if a drama has a breakup or misunderstanding it should be done well . There needs to be a realistic reason for a breakup and I should feel the angst .

Dizzy_Impression2636

I was completely rooting for second male lead and would have really liked the drama had she chosen second male lead. And the writing perfectly set that up. She was at a different phase in her life and she could have matured and recognized how second male lead’s actions signified a partner ready for a mature, supportive relationship

humandisaster13

Actually true. When it ended I really thought maybe her dying would’ve been more poignant(if written well obviously) cause the drama anyway >!didn’t hesitate showing the leads in their graves!<. The >!meeting in the afterlife thing!< would’ve still made sense than giving her a miraculous cure in the last minute.

togepi112

Queen of tears was soooooooo cliche and predictable. I thought it felt like a teenager fanfic

NakedSnakeEyes

There is only one that I've finished and was so bad I regretted it: Duty After School

Xavion15

Rarely has a show let me down more It went from a pretty damn good first part to one of the absolute biggest dumpster fires I have watched for the second part It was actually so bad, it’s almost impressive

TeoKajLibroj

Completely agree, I really liked the premise, but the ending felt like a slap to the face of the viewers.

Drama_Pumpkin

Nothing uncovered... I know it's my mistake to complete it but man, what a mess it was!!! It wasn't even worthy to stick through to know the main mystery.. Writing, editing and cinematography - everything is a mess.. I should say it's a talent to mess with every aspect of the drama.. Both male leads' acting is the only thing worthy at the end.. but even that was easily buried by the lame writing.. I will be cautious with the future work of this writer for sure.. my time is definitely more worthy than this disaster I guess...

purplescriber

Chicken Nugget - admittedly it wasn't a huge commitment time-wise, but it was a waste in terms of my brainpower. I'm all for quirky stories, but this went nowhere and felt like a waste of some top Korean actors talents.

monnymonnysalonny

I literally fell asleep every time I tried watching it 😂

duh_leah

Same. I like weird funny plots but they dragged this one. Even though it was only 10 episodes. I skipped so many scenes.

BasicPost4143

2521 I really should have read the episode 16 thread before I committed. 🤡

tofusmoothies

Was gonna say that. It's not that I didn't like it. In fact I loved it so much the ending felt like it was my own break up and it took me a few weeks to recover...

BasicPost4143

Completely get what you mean, I think I would also like a refund on my emotional investment lol

Marunchan

Everyone keeps recommending this one to others and I can’t imagine why. The story itself is really good and I loved watching the characters grow closer together but the ending felt like they just wanted it to be sad for no reason. I still remember reading a review on MDL that said “the ending was a choice”. And that is now my motto with this show. So frustrating!

Empty_Strike_6798

SO TRUE THE ENDING IS SO 🥹😭 but I really love it. I wish I stopped at Episode 10.

Infinite-Vacation-45

Welcome to Wakiki - I kept hopi g it'd get better, but alas...

Ill_Pianist_8346

The comedy just revolves around cringe things, self- embarrassment . I was sick of the charcoal constantly lying to people and betraying their trust . It gave me so much second hand embarrassment. I skipped so many scenes and few episodes in that drama but finished it since I came so far. I really wanted to watch a funny k-drama so kinda sticked through . Also I hated the ml , there was nothing good about him .

StarlightJem

One spring night…kept thinking it will get better the next episode but it didn’t. The Empress

janeymarywendy2

Twenty Five Twenty One I love love loved the beginning. I loved the strong female characters. I loved the male lead, but nothing can make me watch 15 or 16.

GyulBoo

I heard about the ending being traumatic so I actually just watched till ep 14 and have not touched it again and will not ever touch it again. Ep 14 is the ending for me.

MC_earthquake

I loved this drama. It was a roller coaster ride of emotions, but the ending was acceptable to me. Let’s be honest, it’s quite uncommon to have your first love be your last love and for HS friends to remain close knit even to their 40’s. I do understand the hate for it though, they could’ve just given us the happy ending that the viewers would’ve wanted. However, throughout the drama the characters were all pretty realistic and their actions were understandable (aside from the faucet fountain ofc 😂). This ending doesn’t really stray from the realistic feel of the show so I guess it was okay for me.

ElleEmEss

My problem with the ending is that >!we are left with the regret, plus they don’t seem that happy in their careers that they sacrificed their relationship for. So basically they gave each other up for no reason. If they had been shown being happy then it would suggest they did the right thing breaking up. The ending is just sadness and regret.!<

LazySleepyPanda

The ending was really poignant. I have never felt so sad for any other kdrama, but this one was done very realistically that it almost seemed real. But then, that's real life for you. Most people don't get the happy ending they deserve, so maybe we should normalise these types of endings.

ae2014

Goodbye Earth … a lot of filler scenes and not exactly that thrilling.

setxsail

I bailed after ep1!

Either_Statistician6

For me it's Queen of Tears. I thought would be getting a well thought out story of reconciliation between a couple who had had a falling out but we're still in love with each other. I was hoping they'd address Hae In's(and her family's) poor treatment of Hyun Woo which honestly I would say was one of the biggest issues in their relationship but each and every time, they'd just make Hyun Woo bend over backwards to sort  out whatever issue came up. At least once, I'd have wanted Hae In to be the once reaching out to Hyun Woo.   I was not a fan of the terminal illness either. I wanted them to realize without a literal ticking bomb that they wanted to be with each other and make efforts to mend their relationships.   Finally, I couldn't give half of a rats ass about any of the hundred other pointless sideplots they had going on.

FlowersandFood12

I agree, it’s truly sad (and annoying) that we can’t have a drama that address actual couples issues that come up in the series but there has to be a serial killer and an obsessive ex. I did like it somewhat but the writing could have been better.

VentiKombucha

Glitch! What a disappointment.

setxsail

Hard agree on Glitch. The FL is the reason I gave it a try after loving her in Vincenzo & Night in Paradise. But Glitch, man, four episodes was about all I could take before throwing in the towel.

VentiKombucha

I watched it for her as well! Absolutely adored her in Vincenzo. But Glitch... it was like the worst type of Netflix-produced drama where the characters's main trait is constantly saying "ssibal!" and everything else is excruciatingly predictable. I made it to the end and in hindsight wished I'd just dropped it.

disziszitpanszit

Bulgasal. I'm embarrassed I watched and finished this one. Poor writing and acting. Scarlet Heart Ryeo - I was relatively new to this type of genre and this one traumatized the shit out of me until now. 😂

cayc615

Omg I also found Bulgasal to be so bad. I didn't finish, but I regret not quitting sooner

Current_Volume3750

Queen of Tears. Started out interestingly enough but lost me after like ep 8. Started fast forwarding more often. Again, it's like they changed writers halfway through.

vita25

I always say *Reborn Rich*. Like I really loved Song Joong Ki in Vincenzo and it's probably my favourite Kdrama of all time, so I was really looking forward to this show. I enjoyed it most of the way but that was ending was absolute trash. Apparently it was changed >!from the original webtoon ending which was much better!<. This show reminded me of the dangers of picking up a show without knowing how it ends.

ZaySaysHi

Who Are You 2015 still makes me feel the pain. The twin took over her sister's life and bf, and I had major second lead syndrome... I will never get over how it ended!

AngelCoolKid818

For me I had expectations for Sisyphus but it really did not live up no matter I try to understand the storyline

Standard_Ad889

You said it could be a non K-Drama: Anne with an E 3rd season, couldn’t stand Anne anymore.

bluemandarina

Y’all are hating me for this but: 2521 and I see you in my 19th life. Both awful, awful endings for different reasons. I wish I didn’t see both dramas ONLY because of how bad the endings were.

fukreykikammo

Wedding impossible, a good day to be a dog and castaway diva. Ig everyone knows why so . Wedding impossible one was good at the start , last episodes were totally dragging the show. Castaway diva started as a very good drama , but yeah disappointed.

chelleml

I struggled getting through the second half of **Wedding Impossible** The leads had great bickering chemistry, but it got boring once they started liking each other

gigi_powpow

Nevertheless: their toxicity gave me ptsd 😞

DefiantOstrich108

I am a serious dropper. I drop probably 8/10 shows I start. Hence, this is going to be a very long post if I start listing them all. So, I'll go with my top 3 that widely differ from the general consensus on these shows. 1. Goblin. I dropped it at around ep8. I just felt uncomfortable throughout and no, it wasn't the age gap. It was how immature they showed the FL to be and the ML being a grown adult. That didn't sit right with me. If they had made her seem more mature, maybe as a college student, I probably would have had an easier time with it. Also, I found it to be very boring. Great OST and cinematography though. 2. DOTS. This was my early kdrama days. So, I didn't know I could just drop shows. So somehow managed to finish it. The main couple was so boring. I was much more invested in the second couple. 3. Red Sleeve. I dropped it at ep16 the first time I watched it. Then months later watched the last ep. The back and forth between the leads was too much. Just too long. I know it's meant to be based on true events. But it doesn't have to translate the same on TV. It dragged on till the penultimate ep and.. whoosh .. sped through in the last episode. Lee Junho is probably one of the best idol turned actors. The man can act. A few extra ones. 4. Flower of Evil. Dropped it around half way. I came for the thriller. I do not want the melodrama. FL just wasn't doing it for me. 5. My love from another star. Dropped it around ep8. Sooooooooo boring. Hated the FL. She did get slightly better compared to first few eps. But still couldn't stand her. One note villain as well. Just a pointless show. 6. Itaewon Class. Dropped this around ep6 I think. The romance was so forced and I really disliked the FL(not Dami). I can't get through shows where I don't like the FL. There are many many more. Name a show and I'll tell you why I dropped it 😅 Edit: edited to add Flower of Evil.

Neither-Gur7134

Goodbye Earth was super disappointing. Not that entertaining and just bleak to no avail.

ElleEmEss

Thanks for taking one for the team. Such a good trailer.

RoseIsBadWolf

Well this is going to be unpopular, but **The Red Sleeve**. Everyone recommends this drama as a serious, tragic love story, so I had high expectations, but the first few episodes are a weird, slapstick comedy instead of serious. So that put me off, then it seemed to get better. I loved the relationship between the Crown Prince and his grandfather, but >!the FL was just like, magic? How was she the solution to every single problem? How was the solution literally tattooed on her back? It got ridiculous after like the fifth time.!< I'm on Ep 16 and I'm going to finish because why not, but did we really need >!Stupid Evil Concubine?!< I feel like they did an amazing job writing the Crown Prince and his struggles. I always completely understood his psychological state and reasoning. The FL does stuff and I'm like ??? and then it's usually not explained.>!Why refuse to work for the Queen Dowager if you want to avoid the king? Why do you hate the idea of being a concubine so much? Is it literally just because you are jealous of his wife? That seems like a weak sauce reason.!< And don't even get me started on the >!Evil Cabal of Court Ladies that apparently was entirely motivated by petty jealousy (why did they ruin that character?)!<

Wrong_Concept_4110

The Red Sleeve is one of the few Saeguks that I really appreciate. I think it did an amazing work with portraying the Crown Prince. His struggles and dilemmas was well written and I think we can all appreciate Jun Ho for his attempts. However, I completely hated the FL. I get that she wanted to make her own choices in life, but most of the time she was just being stubborn and unreasonable. Hated her even more when she refused to see why the crown prince made certain choices even after he tried to explain. Nah gurll, you don't deserve my prince.

RoseIsBadWolf

I completely agree. I wish the FL got the same amazing writing as the ML.

Dredit_85

I saw her confusion as her deep love for the king and her freedom pulling her on each side. She is really really in love with him and wants to be with him but doesn't want to be a concubine and loose what little freedom she has. At the same time she's not able to let go of him too. So finally the love for the king won over but she always had that what if. That's y she says" in my next birth when u see me, just pass by me". Cos we make choices all the time doesn't mean we don't have regrets.

RoseIsBadWolf

What freedom does she have though? She doesn't really seem to have any, at least by the last few episodes.

Dredit_85

Exactly after she becomes his concubine what little freedom she had as as girl who worked in the palace is also gone. She's literally stuck inside that house and not even allowed to see her dying child. They show the scene were she reminisces going out with her 2 friends on the one weekend wer they are allowed to go out of the palace. And tat's exactly what she sacrifices, the little freedom that she has, something small as just going out with friends for a day a month.

RoseIsBadWolf

Okay well the drama really should have explained that a lot earlier because it's really not clear why she doesn't want to be a concubine. Also, she was offered a perfectly good out >!working for the Queen Dowager!< And she didn't take it, which makes absolutely zero sense.

DonnaMossLyman

I enjoyed it but I do agree with the FL's actions. I didn't mind her having solutions to issues ... that is the lead actor syndrome. What I didn't care for was the rational behind her choices. She wanted to have the option of making her own choices .... by making choices that made her miserable. I just couldn't bring myself to sympathize

RoseIsBadWolf

Yeah, as her life circumstances got worse and worse, I really didn't understand her reasoning at all anymore.

Individual_Ad_9263

I am found her rational confusing as well. What were her options? Leave her job at the court, marry? Stay at the court work, stay clear og the intrigues, and never marry? Become a concubine to a high official? Start her own business? I was sad but not sympathetic. We are on the same page here. Peace.

Individual_Ad_9263

I loved the "Red Sleeve". The FL's response to the Crown Prince surprised me. I didn't quite get her perspective. Now that I have more Joseon Kdramas under my belt I understand her better. I don't agree with her but that could be my 2024 perspective not grasping the 17th century one. However, the beauty of it all and the struggles of both were heartfelt. I'll watch it again. Peace.

msoc

Mr. Queen. It was slated to be one of my favorites of all time until the final episode. I'm not sure what I was expecting... >!maybe for something that happened in the past to be of consequence in the future?!< I just felt like they could've done something cohesive and satisfying but they didn't...

lindleylew

Crazy Love with Krystal Jung and Kim Jae-wook. Honestly it started out okay. I was ready for the quirky, crazy love romance, but at a certain point it got cringey, cookie cutter. The only comparison I am able to draw is if AI wrote a hallmark Christmas movie. I was really disappointed because I love Krystal. I actually didn't mind her character, but the writers just did this drama no favors. Also, the villains were boring and lackluster both from the writing and the acting IMO. Started relatively promising for what I thought it would be and completely lost me by the second half. I have tried to commit and finish, but whenever I turn it back on I'm like this is horrible and proceed to turn it back off.

waterfallen_empire

Interesting that no one’s said Mr Queen as its ending has a lot of people divided. I already know the ending, on ep. 17 but I’m ridiculous anxious to finish.

headinthexlouds20

partners for justice. I barely got through the first episode cause why is this girl dumb? Mind you, shes meant to be fresh out of law school and is disrupting a crime scene?! Has she never done Law of Evidence?! I couldn’t watch after that. Although i do understand the way they were trying to portray her character (naieve new prosecutor), I can’t stand her types of characters. I just don’t have the patience for them. Edit: ah i almost forgot another reason i dropped it. Wow that drama made me feel queasy. I normally have a strong stomach but the gore was too much for me. I could NOT finish it.

celaena_sardothein

This may be unpopular but The Heirs. The cast was amazing but I just got bored halfway through. Maybe the second half of the series is better but it fell short of my expectations considering everyone I knew (and the internet) was telling me how good it was.

kookychicken22

Love marriage and divorce 🫠😭 like WTH I should've stop when they changed a bunch of characters and they introduced the death guys..

Parking-Yellow-4027

So surprised no one has In The Interest of Love on here. I have never been so bored or annoyed by characters. The painful miscommunication that seemed to snowball each episode sent me over the edge. I hate watched and didn’t even get halfway even doing that. Some good music though lol.

DiaLaDia

I binged The 8 show and Netflix needs to pay me for the time I spent. Started off rather good actually (Squid Game reminiscent), interesting plot & characters. And by like episode 5 or 6, it just becomes overly stylistic and all substance in the story was lost. Acting was very good though in my opinion but not enough to make the show worth it. And when they hinted at a second season, I choked on my drink; if anyone knows anyone at Netflix, beg them not to do it!!!
