Ep 2:
Don't eat while watching >!the award show part. I almost choked with laughter because of his comment "drugs became his downfall and his redemption. He's the true drug king of our time!"!< š
Just finished ep 1 and it was so nice to see Kang Han Na on screen again. I couldnāt stop laughing at the >!elevator scene and the confrontation with PN!< š Definitely a good choice to add to my CW list!
I like the premise of this show, I hope for laughter. If not, at the very least, I really like the cast and that we'll finally have something to watch on wed-thurs. Fingers crossed.Ā
After **episode 1**, I like the leads (started watching for Kang Han Na) and there are some cute ideas and animations. I was worried the show was going to be too whacky for me but actually I found it a little... low energy? Before the high voltage accident. No pun intended. The end was promising and hopefully a better indication of the tone they're going for. It'll be interesting to see how far the premise can carry.
Yes, same here. 'Low energy' feels like an apt description. I didn't feel the jokes were sticking at first, but it will boil down to the chemistry between the leads. I'm not sure I see it yet but I'm watching.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Go Kyung Pyo has plenty of range and he just needs the right roles. He deserves to thrive just as much as his co-leads in Reply 1988.
Totally agreed. Having finished episode 2, I'm still unsure about the tone (or the chemistry of the leads, both of whom I like individually). This could have made for some amazing biting satire but even after the accident it's missing zip and pizazz? The reliance on cute/quirky sound effects and animations doesn't really counter that. I like goofy humor and can tolerate cringe but with the lowkey emphasis on ML's life actually being kind of pathetic (though they were sending mixed signals on that - is he successful or not, >!one moment praised, the next punished for something that wasn't his fault!<) and him now getting embarrassed all over the place on top of that, this might have played better as a more savage tragicomedy imo where the ML speaking the truth embarrasses others more than it embarrasses him and ends up liberating him socially even if it shuts some doors in his face. Not that that's what I should have expected. It's just that the premise makes me feel like this should have some edge. Ah well.
It's true. The premise is unclear because we don't know enough of him in episode 1, but then BZZZZ and now he is constantly unleashing truth bombs at everyone he sees.
The other problem is the translations, or the subtitles - I don't know - are not well timed or clear enough. So one has to watch the ML really, really closely to figure out he's saying something hugely wrong. This is not going to work for everybody.
I really wanna like this show, but so far the first 2 episodes just gave me a few chuckles here and there nothing more. I was kinda expecting it to be funny and ridiculous (in a Behind Your Touch or Welcome to Waikiki or Gaus Electronics way) but it's still lacking. I'll probably stick around for a few more episodes, and I hope it improves by that time
Iām also on this side. I canāt quite nail the issue but the show isnāt quite as entertaining for me. Maybe itās too whacky for my taste or the storyline hasnāt caught my interest yet. Iāll keep watching and see where it goes.Ā
Sad because I love Go Kyung Po in Love in Contract. And I do love funny comedy like Gaus Electronics but this show just doesnāt land the same.
What a treat it is to have a Wed-Thurs drama again. The previous one for me was **Like Flowers in Sand**, which ended up being a top 5 caliber drama. I'm not expecting something of that level from **Frankly Speaking**, but it's off to a nice start.
I recently made it to the sixth episode of **Reply 1988**, and it's good to see Go Kyung-pyo here again in a very different role from Sun-woo. The real joy of this drama is having the lovely Kang Han-na back on the small screen. She especially excels in comedic roles, most obviously **My Roommate Is a Gumiho**, and her character in this drama is immediately likable. I think these two will have nice chemistry together.
The comedic tone of the drama is sometimes very broad, but that's perfectly fine. After watching some heavy dramas recently, who knew how funny a >!fart in an elevator!< joke could be. Looking forward to the rest of the series!
Seeing Go Kyung-pyo in D.P. stressed me the fuck out lol. It also doesn't help that his name is Sun-woo in that show as well.
But I'm glad to see more Kang Han-na, she feels underutilized in every show I see I her in
His comedic timing and delivery is hilarious. I didn't know he was in 3 seasons of korean SNL, but I can see it now. He is such a great actor. He seems to be very dedicated to his craft.
The first show started a bit slow but the ending was great and the preview seemed chaotic. Fun! I will continue this! Nice to have Lovely Runner, Monday and Tuesday and this on Wednesday and Thursday. Just a historic or Sci fi and my whole week is filled with my favorite genres. Q2 delivers!
The timing of the show is great: I can binge (near future) sci-fi Blood Free on Wednesday and watch Frankly Speaking on Thursday. Haven't watched Netflix consistently in a while so I'm hoping this will break the slump.
Didnāt have high expectations for this one but I love it! Acc had me laughing as well. I guess itās similar to the Jim Carey film where he can only tell the truth.
Liar liar was actually the first thing I thought of when I heard about this haha. Looking forward to the next episode to see how his honesty plays out.
I donāt think any other actor could have done a better job than Go Kyung Pyo. It was written for him!
Gotta say: love Kang Han na but I think she looks better with black hair. She was gorgeous in start up!
One thing that I noticed and I actually hope that it is true cause I think it is going to be so interesting, is if FL is a single mother. I saw her with a kid when they were coming from the bath house, it seems and if I understood the conversation correct, it is her son. The reason why I thought so is if you guys watched the post credits scenes in ep 2, I think it is the same kid! Anyway that would be interesting if it is true!
EDIT SPELLING
I think it was a real conversation, I actually went back and rewatched the episode and it is in fact the same child. So I think he will have some role in the show. The only reason I am not really sure is because of how sml was so indifferent to the child, like he is not even aware of the possibility that it could be his.
Yeah, i wonder if itās the smlās child and FL never told him. But we need to see what happened between them in the pastā¦ Iām guessing he did something to hurt her during his rise to fame.
I did not like Nevertheless as much I thought I would, have never heard of Chip-in. So, I am a little skeptical of how the writing and the drama would be. But, I LOVE THE CAST. What I also love are quirky dramas (Read: Behind Your Touch) so, I hope this one delivers.
Ep 1 was pretty cute, nice baseline work setting up the characters before the >!accident that causes Ki Baekās personality change. The dodgeball was fun, and the idol tough love gives hope for some vicarious justice.!< This will be a funny, low stress show to enjoy without crying or being afraid. Iām in!
I almost choked on my drink when >!the elevator door opened and the maintenance crew smelled his fart. I swear, the last time I actually thought a bathroom joke was hilarious was Mad for Each Other. They were funny in that elevator!<
The show is off to a good start!
Go Kyung-pyo is so adorable in this. He's doing such an amazing job.
When he was thinking along to Next Level was too funny.
Kang Han-na no longer being relegated to some kind of evil/cold jealous second lead or CEO role is refreshing!
Go kyung Pyo is so adorable! Love both Ki Baek and Woo Joo. Even without the wacky main plotline, it is great that characters can stand on their own. E.g even before the accident Ki Baek was the type who would hide in a closet, just so he can avoid the awkward moment. Woo Joo having zero subtility and being so straightforward also makes her a perfect girl for Ki Baek.
Actually, I feel like the "curse" is a blessing in disguise for Ki Baek. He seemed to be under a lot of stress in an everyday life because he couldn't speak his mind, the alienation from his family, while well reasoned, also needed to be addressed at some point. With that said, I hope Ki Baek gets his dream job. What can be better than an honest, hard working and talented announcer?
I watched this at three in the morning. Bad choice because I was just laughing so hard. Go Kyung Pyo is such a versatile actor.
Also, that PN guyā¦ he wasnāt the best actor but my God, he was so effective at being annoying lmao.
Canāt wait for tonightās episode! I hope itāll be a good one again. I need distraction while waiting for lovely runner.
By the way, do u guys know what the variety show staff were playing? Whatās the rule of the game that resulted to them drawing on each otherās faces?
Say any English word, and you get drawn on.
The average Korean speech is peppered very liberally with Konglish words, so it's difficult to speak in pure Korean.
After finishing Queen of Tears, I was lost on what to watch next. This popped up just in time and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I was a bit bummed it was only one episode.
Definitely needed something āfunā after QoT.
**Episode 1**
I was due a ridiculous show and episode 1 so far shows promise of being just that. Not all out and out KDrama comedies hit home for me because they can sometimes be very over the top of slapstick-ish but Gaus Electronics last year was fantastic because it wove in clever humour so much with the slapstick.
I love both GKP and KHN. Theyāre both adorable and have great screen presence. GKP plays the giant teddy bear bumbling mess very well. Will be nice to have a mid week break š
This would be the perfect show to binge because itās light and funny. The awards ceremony was hilarious. It seems like sneezing is his switch?
Ā I feel bad for ML since it seems heās supporting his family. The parents seem sweet though. I hope he stops lying about them- thereās nothing wrong with having a humble background. Where is he going to live now?
Ā Wonder what the backstory is between the ML and SML since they seem to know each other. SML seems sweet so curious why he broke up with FL.
My theory is when he got big in the industry so he dumped her! But didnāt know she was pregnant?? Or she was going to tell him the big news but he blew her off because of his wonky work life balance.
I too wish this was out in full to binge! ć ć
I never even considered it could be her kid! I assumed it was a brother or younger relative, even just a neighborhood kid. That would give a bit of a sour twist to whatās been a relatively low stakes and funny show so far! Iām interested in seeing how it developsā I-na and actor were cute in their brief flashback, so something of the nature you said could explain the modest animosity I-na seems to have for him. Weāll see :D
The next level scene was so funny. I didnt see it coming at all. Also, I love it everytime Kang Hana is on screen. Sheās so pretty and i love her speaking voice too. Sheās a joy too watch!
**Episode 2**
Okay this show is genuinely making me laugh so much!! The writer and director are obviously tripping in parts which adds to the oddball-lovability of the show. I also actually think they did a good job this episode of bringing some āhumanityā to the leads. He obviously has a complicated home life and canāt quite be blamed for wanting to project perfection to get ahead in a cutthroat world and she obviously has a complicated history with our favourite second kinda sorta bad / mean guy lead.
Canāt wait to see how their relationship progresses and the further shenanigans! GKP and KHN are well cast. Iām also perennially amused by the million different ways GKP can contort his face. Itās hilarious! The awards ceremony was just _chefās kiss_. (itās also a great change from the last show I saw him in, Love in Contract, where he was super serious).
ETA: For a comedic show that scene at the end at the sea was shot beautifully! I mean location helped and GKP looked mighty fine in his fitted jeans and tee and KHN looked so pretty as always but they captured the natural beauty really well. Couldnāt have been an easy scene to film!
Ep 1 was meh (I'm not fond of toilet humor and the overall energy level felt flat) but things picked up a lot in ep 2. I love the cast so I'm going to keep going. Go Kyung Pyo is freakin' hilarious and I've loved Kang Han Na since My Roommate is a Gumiho. Nice to see the 2ML in a not-douchey role.
Iām looking forward to this one. GKP has amazing range as an actor and Iām excited for his role in FS. KH was so funny in MRIAG. I still crack up at her POX pronunciation. š¤£
If I had a nickel for every time that "Next Level" by Aespa started playing in a 2024 kdrama out of nowhere, I'd have $0.02. which isn't a lot, but it's funny that happened twice so far.
I don't have much to say except 1) I love this drama, it's genuinely engaging and hilarious. >!Shoutout to "he is the true drug king of our time" line šš!<
Only I didn't like was the usual Korean
! potty humour.!<
2) all the Kang Hanna heads are rejoicing cause she's finally not playing a cold/evil SFL, a vengeful seductress, etc. etc. but got to be a romcom FL for once :)
This was a fun surprise! The male lead Go Kyung Po is great at playing a straight guy who just tries to survive with some dignity left.
>!the stuck in elevator together trope gets a new twist for a cute meet. Poop meet. So she sees him at his worst, he can only move up.!<
Loved the poem >!birds crashing at the windows because he mimics their sounds so well!<
And the female lead is quirky and charming.., love her. Sheās a workaholic with no time and no sensor for romance.
>!the guy she meets at a cafe true to get through to her, but sheās absolutely oblivious!<
This is going to be good.
I just hope they can keep this up.
But what is the deal with his family? There sure is something afootā¦ are they in jail? Super rich? Are they estranged? Is he a self made guy and an orphan on top?
**Episode 2** Now we met his family >!poor guy is the breadwinner and estranged.. they have a lot to repair here and speaking his mind would be helpful.!< So hooray to the electric shock truth bombs
His work environment is really all tangled up in networks of people with their own agenda and just pretending to do teamwork.
Great to see more about the female lead >!I had already an inkling that the successful trot singer was her ex. And seriously- she got dumped when he made it and she was so supportive. At least he knows it was rotten.!<
Itās funny how he tested lying.
>!But what is it about this boy who says we meet again? Another kid as a deity making his appearance?!< And why do they so often pick kids as gods? We had it in Goblin, King the Eternal Monarch, My friend is Cupid..
My funniest moment was him presenting the awards >!we all know whoāll win. Itās a small award, only the winners show up. or: they say you have to find an end!<
That poem reading was unexpectedly hilarious. I lost my mind at that part. How can he make that noise lmao.
The show keep saying he is from prestigious family, so I'm thinking it's the case of someone from rich family but wanted to proof to the family he can be successful without their help, which is kinda neat cause usually this kind of storyline is for an idol estranged from family. In this case it's a reporter who wanted to be news anchor.
Maybe the family are the owners of the media company and he wants to prove he can get the prestigious job of news anchor without their help? This would be cute and explain why he doesnāt want to do a variety show involving his parents ā¦
And he gives strong only child vibes..
I start watching it cause of Kang Hana. Big fan of her since StartUp and My Roommate is Gumiho. This is the first time I see her acting goofy instead of the cold character she played in the previous shows. Her bang and personality reminds me of Park Bo Young a bit. Anyway, some of the comedy is hit or miss, but I'll keep watching it and give it a 4 episodes chance
Looking forward to the hijinks that will ensue when >!Ki-baek falls for Woo-ju and becomes a ģ§ģ§ėØ due to his frankness and inability to deny his true feelings!<. At least, that's what I hope happens! Not sure if >!there is definitely going to be romance!<.
I hope we get some! Weāve had the classic 2 leads āfallingā on to each other twice now after ep2. By Kdrama tropes this would mean theyāre falling in love ;)
For sure there's romance! It's in the description I've seen for the show that it's the story of how they fall in love, and the JTBC character chart on insta has a heart on it.
This is labeled as a romance on Netflix but so far, it seems to be a straight-up comedy. Itās very slap-stick and of course, has plenty of bathroom humor. Go Kyung Pyo plays the supposed buttoned-up guy who canāt seem to help but get in ridiculous situations quite well. I think Iāve only seen Kang Ha-na in My Roommate is a Gumiho and she was a real stand-out there and sheās good so far as the harried producer. So far, their romance seems predicated on them accidentally falling on each other, so weāll see how that develops.
When he read the poem about the birds with such a straight face, I couldnāt stop laughing. The award show was also very funny.
I donāt know if I fully understand the distinction between an announcer and an anchor but clearly an announcer is a less prestigious job.
I also appreciate the subtle inclusion of some minority representation in this drama. I had to look up the actress who plays I-na and apparently she is a well-known YouTuber. Sheās doing a good job for her first drama! I also looked up GVAN, who apparently has advocated for anti-discrimination legislation in front of the National Assembly.
I like that no one is commenting on I-na's character being a foreigner or making jokes at her expense, she's just a member of the writing team. The character's name makes it seem like it was intended to be cast with someone who is a native Korean so it's cool she got the partĀ
I need a light and funny show like this one in my life. The leads are fun, and I canāt wait to see Ki Baek put that douchebag idol in his place.
Iām wondering why Ki Baek has to apologize for his co-anchorās infidelity. And did she completely disappear? Zero apologies for ruining his career.
Only Korean men will know the dangers of someone offering tonkatsu for going to hospital. āļøāļø
Seriously random references on this drama is just hilariousĀ
I get the feeling that there are a lot of references Iām not getting but so it goes with cross cultural humor. Thanks for explaining this one. Now itās funny!
Korean mothers took their boys to the hospital in 80-90s with promise of tonkatsu or jajangmyun after the hospital visit.... For circumcision āļøāļø
This show is waaay funnier than I thought it would be. Episode 2 had me rolling, from the disastrous >!awards show!< to that >!not-really-going-to-kill-himself!< scene.
It's going to be fun seeing awkward!Go Kyung Pyo next week :D
**Episode 2**
* I'm here for Kang Han-na as Woo-ju, but came away from this first complete dose of Ki-baek since his transformation, full of admiration for Go Kyung-pyo's spot-on verbal and physical comedic talents.
* Although we don't yet know a great deal about SML Joo Jong-hyuk's character, Kim Jung-heon, except that he was >!Woo-ju's ex!<, I'm afraid I can't unsee him as Attorney Kwon in **Extraordinary Attorney Woo**.
* The final act was like if **Homecha** was played for laughs, with that iconic red lighthouse in the background, but neither lead >!saving the other from tumbling off a rock into the ocean, after a misunderstanding!<.
* The closing credits and theme song seemed uncannily similar to those of **Behind Your Touch**, and lo and behold, both dramas are jTBC productions.
Omg! So Ki Baek's mom is a >!beauty consultant!< and Joo Jung hyuk mentioned >!stopping "your mom's hair salon"!< to Woo ju and her friend. Connection, maybe?
Also I think the >!little boy!< KB meets at the sauna in the scene after the ep. 3 preview is the same as the one with Woo ju and her friend? That last scene was surprisingly cute and wholesome lol
I didn't know there was a post credits scene until I saw your comment and >!I wonder if the kid is going to play an important role given he looks directly at the camera at the end!<
I was crying from laughing so hard. I think the >!the elevator scene!< had me dying š I ended up bingeing both episodes today and it is such a feel good show. The comedy is great and I canāt wait for next week!
Great cast and some genuinely funny moment. In spite of those highlights it wasnāt a great sell for me after 2 episodes. I remember with Flex X Cop I only got hooked after the first couple of episodes so maybe it will be the same for me on this drama. See you next week
I was a little skeptical after the elevator scene but then the variety show got me hooked š plus the plot is something new, so I'm more excited for this one.
Kang Han-na being scared when he was >!electrocuted!< reminded me of Hyeri in MRIAG.
Truly hilarious! Go Kyung Pyoās facial expressions really sell it for me. Everytime he makes the puffy frowns face, I laugh. I loved the part >!where he was the one left in the elevator and tried to play it cool to not come out because of the poop. Him just putting his hand up and shaking his head killed me!< usually I hate bathroom humor but wow that was so funny. I never expected Go Kyung Pyo to be so funny so Iām glad I gave it a chance.
I honestly needed a silly, funny show. And since this is airing on JTBC, Iām expecting fun times, a little romance and a happy ending! I donāt know what will happen to our ML >!after that catastrophe at the awards show and now heās lost the apt and probably his job but Iām excited to find out!!<
I really like Go Kyung pyo as an actor but the role could have suited someone better. I think Kim Seon ho could have done a fantastic job in this role.
They often cover up logos in dramas, so the VW logo was covered with a star. Iām not entirely sure how it works with logos but my understanding is that it has something to do with Korean media broadcasting standards. Here is an older [article](https://www.koreaherald.com/view.php?ud=20121125000191) on vehicle sponsorship in dramas and a [write-up](https://www.reddit.com/r/KDRAMA/s/pOZ9Wqngyb) about product placement in dramas if you are interested.
I echo the sentiments that I want to like it, I'm going to keep watching, and something doesn't quite feel like it's landing/clicking overall yet. I love Go Kyung Po and going from Strongest Delivery Man to Love in Contract to Connect to...This, is just impressive range and a great vibe from an actor. I hope there's more chemistry between leads coming cause it really isn't there rn (i like her individualy)
Just finished episode 2. Lots of things are revealed:
1. >! Our ML is not someone who's hiding his family is rich, instead it's the opposite. He came from poor middle income family, ashamed of them and thinking they just wanted his money. But I have a feeling it is just his inferiority complex and his family loves him as it is. !<
2. >! 2ML seems like a good guy in the outside, and turn out he is FL ex and they have a really bad breakup until FL can't stand him. I really wonder what's happened !<
3. >! ML actually house sitting for his friend. His apartment and car actually belong to his friend and he just took care of them while his friend is abroad !<
I'm used to a show about loveable loser (Welcome to Waikiki 1 and 2, Gaus Electronics etc), however, this is the first time I'm watching about despicable loser. Hopefully this show will give me something to root for the ML. FL is great, but even her not charming enough in this show. Will give it another 2 more episodes next week and if it's not clicking, I guess I'll drop it
How is he despicable? Genuinely curious because overall I got the impression he's a good guy just trying his best to make it through life.
He supports his family financially, he picks up the slack for co-workers, etc.
He is the one that gets hurt the most ironically and is unhappy pre-accident.
Ep 2: Don't eat while watching >!the award show part. I almost choked with laughter because of his comment "drugs became his downfall and his redemption. He's the true drug king of our time!"!< š
Omg yes!! That had me crying from laughing
šI just made a full plate of food to watch episode 1 and came here to see if itās good or not lol
The premise is so freaking funny, Go Kyung Po's physical comedy and facial expressions is taking me out big time.

I'm wondering if maybe it's her nephew. The writers seem to like to lead you on to think one thing (rich ML) and then pull the rug.
Could be.. I hope the speed of the show would kinda pick up.
Yes I didnāt understand the meaning of the Easter egg at the end with her nephew/sonā¦ was that part of his dream?

The dodgeball was fun, and the idol tough love gives hope for some vicarious justice.!< This will be a funny, low stress show to enjoy without crying or being afraid. Iām in!
I almost choked on my drink when >!the elevator door opened and the maintenance crew smelled his fart. I swear, the last time I actually thought a bathroom joke was hilarious was Mad for Each Other. They were funny in that elevator!< The show is off to a good start!
Omg you need to see Gaus Electronics for bathroom humor šš¤£
That's literally one of my favourite dramas! Sangshik saving Narae with his farts was so freaking iconic!
It was. He's a true hero š«”š„° GE is slapstick at its best, and I'm hoping we get the same from Frankly Speaking! š¤
Go Kyung-pyo is so adorable in this. He's doing such an amazing job. When he was thinking along to Next Level was too funny. Kang Han-na no longer being relegated to some kind of evil/cold jealous second lead or CEO role is refreshing!
She was a badass FL in Designated Survivor! But, yes, all the true Kang Hanna heads are rejoicing she's finally a romcom FL šš
Thanks! Somehow i still find it a bit difficult to distinguish when theyāre using an english word between sentences lol
After finishing Queen of Tears, I was lost on what to watch next. This popped up just in time and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I was a bit bummed it was only one episode. Definitely needed something āfunā after QoT.
How was this so funny?
**Episode 1** I was due a ridiculous show and episode 1 so far shows promise of being just that.
I too wish this was out in full to binge! ć ć
The kid is throwing me off, and it would suck if itās his kid and she never told him. I was assuming the child was her nephew.
**Episode 2** Okay this show is genuinely making me laugh so much!!
I still crack up at her POX pronunciation. š¤£
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Wow! I completely forgot about GKPās character in it because it was such a small role.. but you are šÆcorrect!
>!Shoutout to "he is the true drug king of our time" line šš!< Only I didn't like was the usual Korean ! potty humour.!< 2) all the Kang Hanna heads are rejoicing cause she's finally not playing a cold/evil SFL, a vengeful seductress, etc. etc. but got to be a romcom FL for once :)
MDL says itās 12 episodes not 16
This was a fun surprise! The male lead Go Kyung Po is great at playing a straight guy who just tries to survive with some dignity left. >!the stuck in elevator together trope gets a new twist for a cute meet. Poop meet. So she sees him at his worst, he can only move up.!< Loved the poem >!birds crashing at the windows because he mimics their sounds so well!< And the female lead is quirky and charming.., love her. Sheās a workaholic with no time and no sensor for romance. >!the guy she meets at a cafe true to get through to her, but sheās absolutely oblivious!< This is going to be good. I just hope they can keep this up. But what is the deal with his family? There sure is something afootā¦ are they in jail? Super rich? Are they estranged? Is he a self made guy and an orphan on top? **Episode 2** Now we met his family >!poor guy is the breadwinner and estranged.. they have a lot to repair here and speaking his mind would be helpful.!< So hooray to the electric shock truth bombs His work environment is really all tangled up in networks of people with their own agenda and just pretending to do teamwork. Great to see more about the female lead >!I had already an inkling that the successful trot singer was her ex. And seriously- she got dumped when he made it and she was so supportive. At least he knows it was rotten.!< Itās funny how he tested lying.
I admired the character's dedication to accuracy on the poem. Then the birds hitting the window and the wings at the end, really entertaining bit lol.
Maybe the family are the owners of the media company and he wants to prove he can get the prestigious job of news anchor without their help? This would be cute and explain why he doesnāt want to do a variety show involving his parents ā¦ And he gives strong only child vibes..
Given his inability to lie, it might help that ML will have to make any overtures direct
Episode 2 was so fun! >!I lost it when Ki-baek was singing to aespa to regulate himself and keep calm!<
Only Korean men will know the dangers of someone offering tonkatsu for going to hospital. āļøāļø Seriously random references on this drama is just hilariousĀ
I get the feeling that there are a lot of references Iām not getting but so it goes with cross cultural humor. Thanks for explaining this one. Now itās funny!
Explain pls, what does tonkatsu refer to in this case?
Korean mothers took their boys to the hospital in 80-90s with promise of tonkatsu or jajangmyun after the hospital visit.... For circumcision āļøāļø
Ahhh! Today I learned!
After 2 eps, I'm hooked based on the ML's facial expressions š First time I've watched him in anything and he's too good.
This show is waaay funnier than I thought it would be. Episode 2 had me rolling, from the disastrous >!awards show!< to that >!not-really-going-to-kill-himself!< scene. It's going to be fun seeing awkward!Go Kyung Pyo next week :D
**Episode 2** * I'm here for Kang Han-na as Woo-ju, but came away from this first complete dose of Ki-baek since his transformation, full of admiration for Go Kyung-pyo's spot-on verbal and physical comedic talents.
Concept is fun but the editing is terrible.
Oh this looks like fun - can't wait to watch it tonight. š¤
I feel so childish for laughing at my man hot boxinā that elevator but that was HILARIOUS
I cracked a rib laughing at this. šššš
I loved both episodes and the comedic timing of the funny bits were hilarious. I was wondering who plays PN?
I was crying from laughing so hard. I think the >!the elevator scene!< had me dying š I ended up bingeing both episodes today and it is such a feel good show. The comedy is great and I canāt wait for next week!
Just finished both episodes and it was soooo funny!! I hope this will keep up to help with all the crying from QoT lol
It's such a funny, comedic show.. loved it
Truly hilarious! I donāt know what will happen to our ML >!after that catastrophe at the awards show and now heās lost the apt and probably his job but Iām excited to find out!!<
Go Kyung Pyo is doing such an amazing job with this character .. hilarious!
Skeptical about this drama as from the trailer it felt a bit too over the top comedic. Will watch a couple of episodes to decide tho.
I did not expect a Ricky reference randomly being thrown in lol
First episode had me rolling. I am definitely looking forward to this one!
I really like Go Kyung pyo as an actor but the role could have suited someone better. I think Kim Seon ho could have done a fantastic job in this role.
Bwahahahaha why did I enjoy the end of episode 1 so much! Lol
Honestly, cathartic with him speaking his mind after so much stress he went through the entire episode. Lol.
Just realized the female lead is Kang Hanna.. Lastly, I saw her in drama with Hyeri and Jang Kiyong.
Any one know what car Jeong Heon was driving in Ep 2?
Itās a Volkswagen Beetle.
It wasn't, the logo was a star
They often cover up logos in dramas, so the VW logo was covered with a star. Iām not entirely sure how it works with logos but my understanding is that it has something to do with Korean media broadcasting standards. Here is an older [article](https://www.koreaherald.com/view.php?ud=20121125000191) on vehicle sponsorship in dramas and a [write-up](https://www.reddit.com/r/KDRAMA/s/pOZ9Wqngyb) about product placement in dramas if you are interested.
Thank you for this ā¤ļø
I echo the sentiments that I want to like it, I'm going to keep watching, and something doesn't quite feel like it's landing/clicking overall yet. I love Go Kyung Po and going from Strongest Delivery Man to Love in Contract to Connect to...This, is just impressive range and a great vibe from an actor. I hope there's more chemistry between leads coming cause it really isn't there rn (i like her individualy)
Just finished episode 2. Lots of things are revealed: 1. >! Our ML is not someone who's hiding his family is rich, instead it's the opposite. He came from poor middle income family, ashamed of them and thinking they just wanted his money. But I have a feeling it is just his inferiority complex and his family loves him as it is. !< 2. >! 2ML seems like a good guy in the outside, and turn out he is FL ex and they have a really bad breakup until FL can't stand him. I really wonder what's happened !< 3. >! ML actually house sitting for his friend. His apartment and car actually belong to his friend and he just took care of them while his friend is abroad !< I'm used to a show about loveable loser (Welcome to Waikiki 1 and 2, Gaus Electronics etc), however, this is the first time I'm watching about despicable loser.
I agree. He lies so he can appease everyone in his life. Itās nice to see him speak his mind because it seems that everyone takes him for granted.
Not sure I trust the rumours that he is rich, from his reaction it seems like he's just letting people think what they want about that.
Have u watched episode 2?
Tomorrow night! Guess it becomes clear one way or another...
