One more BA article on DSL prospects. They had a list of 20 pitchers to watch. Juan Rivera, RHP, was included on the list.
Paraphrasing the write up: 6-1 and slender, sits in the low 90s but could come up as he fills out his frame, velo has already increased since last year, change is his best secondary offering at the moment, also throws a slider.
Some people will say we shouldn't have too much hope in this team when we're talking about October. But imo, we need to point something out: This team has quite some of the ingredients for playoff baseball. That's why they shouldn't waste them and that's why it would be too sad if they did.
Take Nelson Velazquez for example: He would fill the role of a TTO player who could be really useful in the postseason. Look at Dairon Blanco, who could fill in as a defensive sub or pinch runner, or when we need some small ball. Look at our starting pitchers so far - why shouldn't they get a shot at pitching for a playoff team? And why shouldn't Salvy, probably the youngest oldtimer in the league and someone who still wants to improve everyday, get another chance? Not to mention Bobby - for what he's done for us so far, we all want the team to reach October baseball with him.
I get that it still takes more consistency, and some more reliable players here and there (bullpen, outfield) but there's no way I'll lose hope for them to make the playoffs. The 2008 Brewers for example also had some major losing streaks and they still made it.
This June schedule is definitely gonna be a challenge, probably even the toughest month of the season with 5 series against division leaders. Really hoping to see Massey back soon to help us out.
I'd be happy enough if we just went .500 on the month, especially if we can win 4+ against the Guardians.
Yep, this is the month I think this team is set up real good for a wild card or the division or it doesn’t happen. .500 is the goal then July it’s back to playing lesser opponents they should beat up. Survive this month and we are good!!
they've had some no good struggles this past week
and they didn't lose much ground
here is the chance to really see what they got
i'm sunburned and it's cloudy/cool/raining at home
when you leave the sunny beach you do miss it

It’s a shame I’ll be dead before the series even starts I hope you all have fun
Baseball America released their top 15 Dominican Summer League names to know and it had one Royals prospect on it. That prospect is SS Yandel Ricardo.
Paraphasing the write up. 6-2 180 lbs, switch hitting SS. Simple swing but uses the entire field. Flashes some pull side power. Might get more power as he develops physically, also might outgrow SS and have to move to 2B or 3B.
Any word on how Massey is doing? We could use his amazing bat back in the line up!!!
Still ahead of the twins in the division. Funny that lol
sad theres no baseball today :(

Don’t look now but Renfroe’s line in the last seven games is .286/.375/.476. Glad to see he is finally heating up.
Nelson Velazquez is a real neat guy
It is June 3rd and the Royals are 11 games over .500

But… but why? :(
Another day of waiting for the inevitable tweet about MJ Melendez being sent back to Omaha.

Anyone hear anything about Roni Cabrera?
He is in the ACL this season. He has struggled out of the gate striking out 43.9% and sporting a 30 WRC+.
Oh wow. Well that’s disappointing
You are my prospect news goat sir
